@Hank

I don't have actual "admin" access to the site in any way that matters. I have the ability to promote and demote moderators, that's about it.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before, and if it's already a feature someone please point me to it. But being able to change our theme colour (even a basic 'light mode' would be amazing. I have trouble reading white on darkgrey/black a lot of the time, so being able to go light mode would be an amazing help :)

Not a feature ATM but you could probably find some browser plug-ins/addons that change site themes to light mode. Although on RPG I use the default colors, elsewhere I use Dark Reader to customize a site for dark mode. I know it's the opposite of what you're asking for, but it does have a built-in light mode as well with customization features that you could potentially adjust for lighter colors. That being said, depending on the site it can affect text and/or color, so what others see might not be what you're seeing. I know on RPG it will change the text at least, like the yellowish color we have for RPG.

Oh! I didn't know about Dark Reader! Thank you so much, it helps a lot after playing with the settings a little bit :)

I suggest keeping the dark/original theme as the default theme, though.

There should be a lock-posting-except-for-Participants button. Like for the Test Forums, for example. I don't mind knowing people can read|look at my testing of eloquence. I've seen the option to post a comment in other Peoples Test Forum areas. That should be negated.

Not a bad idea, in the meantime if someone posts something you don't like you can always ask to have the post removed

I second this. It'd be nice for RPs and test threads.

However, I think the idea could be adjusted. If you're including just "participants", that would include whoever has posted in the thread regardless if they are an active player, poster, w/e. I think it would be better if the idea was retooled into a sort of "reverse banning", where you could input certain usernames that are allowed to post. It'd require the 10 people limit to be removed (or updated to, IDK, 999999999 or something) for larger groups if we're going to use it as a reference point, though.

Thread whitelists are a great idea. It should also have a toggle for IC-only, IC and OOC, or disabled.

Yeah I've always been against a Block feature as it can cause issues when you have multiple people Roleplaying together and as a GM you could have two players who wanna block each other over something stupid.

Whitelisting means that you are acting on inclusion. You are permitting someone to participate and the GM has more control over who can and can't RP.

@LegendBegins Could we get a dice roll command in the future? I know the Guild has a dice roller, but I figure it'd be better if the roller could be used directly in posts rather than being a separate thing you'd have to link from your dice campaigns.

Also, what about other die rulesets being added to the system? Right now the dice roller works off a XdY+-Z system. However, some systems use things like degrees of success (for example, if a rolled die is above X or equal number, then it's a success). You've even got things where some numbers are considered double successes, such as 10s. We can technically roll for DoS in the roller as it is now, but it requires a manual count to ensure what one has rolled.

Could it be streamlined to display such formulas on top of the regular DnD-style dice rolling? Something like:

5d10>7 = 1, 5, 7, 7, 9 = 3 successes (2 7s, and the 9, which is greater than 7).

If the 7s in this case were considered "double successes", then they'd display in bold font or something. At least that's how I've seen it work with bots on Discord.

@Kuro

The day you start asking me to implement statistics stuff with probability is the day every RP鈥檚 dice system is suddenly rigged.

I like the idea. I鈥檒l add it to the list.

We actually have that currently. But our team has noticed that it appears to give spammers a "win" by visibly taking down the site for anyone who wants to join, so we've implemented new spam detection mechanisms. So far, we're pretty pleased with their ability to shut down attacks pre-emptively, or quickly after they've begun. And we're tweaking them all the time to make them intelligently block spam even faster.

As for a taste of things to come, expect Russian spam bots clogging up the News section to soon be a thing of the past
