After some invasive tampering on the wooden frame and the lock mechanism itself, the door made a loud clacking sound and swung open with a small push. The room seems to be the master bedroom; it has a rather rage bed located at the south of the room, right in front of two identical windows adorned by the blue satin curtains that were tied to the side.

In the other corner of the room, there was a large closet, unlocked, with pillows stored in one of its compartments. In the wardrobe section, there was a satin gown, a summer dress, a shirt, and a tie hung.

There was a desk at another corner of the room. And on top of it, there was a laminated letter of appointment that stated the person under the name of Faldiar Alkreath to be transferred to the Sentinel Unit under Viceroy Adnand, starting on Monday, 12 October, 30 years ago.

Next to it, there was another photo of the couple again. The brown-haired young man was as energetic as ever, while this time, the blonde woman next to him was captured with a smile on her face. The background of the picture was this house, which seemed to be in its final stage of completion.

One of the drawers in that desk was opened, and inside it, there was a mithril pendant with the design of two elongated wings fitted with a diamond in the middle, its chains were made of silver, and the pendants glittered even at the smallest presence of light.

Roxas

Roxas hummed as she let the door swing open, holding out a hand to keep it open. She paused at the sight of the bedroom, before her gaze moved to the door. "Why the hell is there a lock on the bedroom door?" She mumbled to herself as she walked in and looking around. She moved to the desk, picking up the paper with her gloved hand. She rolled it and tucked it into her belt.

She picked up the photo, holding it as she looked more. She gave a hum, picking up the pendant and looking it over. Once giving another look over, she moved into the other room and picked up the flyer. She rolled it and tucked it into her belt as well. She then picked up the items in the chest; opening it again. She then would head to the stairs to make her way downstairs to everyone else.

Fia Blackfire

“Alright everybody, this is where we part ways. I loved traveling with you. I will not forget you lovelies.” spoke the woman. She wore a red dress, attire normally not thought practical for cross country travel. Yet even so, the woman didn’t appear hindered by it. Wagons and horses parked in a circular position surrounded the woman. A few stood and listened to her speak, while most of the others carried on like nothing was happening. One of the men walking by spoke up.

“You say that every time you leave. You always end up back here.”

“It not my fault we always cross paths.”

“Worry not about it. Just take care of yourself, Fia.” spoke another. An elven man. He put down a hefty sack into one of the carts before looking back at the woman in red. The woman leaned onto one leg, looking intently at the elf. Her face looked softly, but her eyes told a completely different story. She was in contemplation.

“You know, it’s not too late for you to join me. If anyone was to go, it’s you.” said Fia.

“Perhaps another time. There are some things that should remain forgotten.” replied the elf. He turned to walk away, “besides, if you stay here much longer, you’ll be late. They don’t like outsiders lingering for too long.”

“Well then, I’ll be off. I’ll let you know if I find anything interesting.” Fia waved her hand as she turned away from the camp. Her hand was still waving as she walked away, lowering it only after the camp left her view. She was not far from the meeting place, but she misjudged how long it would take for her to get there. Upon arriving at the location, there was evidence people were about. However, with no one there now, it looked like that elf was right, she was late. Still, the expedition didn’t leave too long ago. Perhaps she could catch up.

Several hours later, Fia noticed commotion just off the road, an old house by the river. Several wagons, and horses guided to the stable. The windows glowed as lights started to illuminate the interior. Shadows drifted across the windows as bodies moved across the path of light. There were definitely people wandering that building. Finally, Fia had found them. It looked like they were only starting to settle in, which Fia deduced meant that she wasn’t too far behind.

She was glad she found it when she did. The storm was getting pretty bad, and she was already contemplating having to build a camp of her own. At least now, she could join the others in a stable and dry shelter to let it pass. As rain drenched the solo woman, she marched up to the door. Fruitless wiping off some of the water from her torso, she knocked on the door. And then she promptly opened the door and took a step inside.

“Ha. I’m glad you all didn’t go much farther. I’m not sure how much more of that rain I was going to endure. But I’m here now.” said Fia. As she was speaking, she reach down and grabbed the bottom of her dress, wringing out some of the rainwater that soaked through. She stood up straight as she finished speaking and walked fully inside, letting the door close behind her. Ignoring any bewildered looks, Fia walked up to the fireplace.

“Oh poo. And here I was hoping we could get a nice warm fire going.” Fia crossed her arms in front of the empty fireplace. Bothered by the lack of fire wood, Fia turned around to finally get a look at everyone still lingering the main room. The her face widened as she realized she hadn’t introduced herself. “I’m Fia. I meant to join you earlier, but ah, I guess I ran a little late. It’s a pleasure to be here, lovelies.”

A single knock rang from the door behind him. The newcomer opened it before Engelbert could fully turn to reach for it, and his first impression was that the caravan hands were coming to join them. But then he took in the sight of a pale figure in bright red, a head of dark brown sticking all over the place, and an irrational part of him came into conclusion that the spirit of a drowned woman have come to drag them all to the depth.

He waved away the intrusive thoughts soon enough, by which time the newcomer already went past and complained about the lack of fire. Sometimes it's easy to forget that people really dislike getting drenched, eh?

"We have only recently arrived ourselves." Said the knight conversationally, glancing around for signs of firewood. No such luck. "I could take a look at the stable, see if there's kindling back there? We all could use some fire."

Tillius

What a charm it was. A thunderstorm soon befell the expedition, and man oh man was it bad. Initially the shield would be good shelter against the pummeling thunderstorm, but it was soon clear it didn't matter. He'd still be soaked anyway, might as well let it wash away any dirt and mud Tillius accumulated back in the camps. It was hard to see in front of him, but not the worst thing he had seen. As long as he simply put his feet in front of the other, he'd make it there or the rain would stop before then.

Soon, the expedition found what seemed to be an empty house in the midst of the forest. The group was eager to check it out, as it would be the only shelter they could find in the immediate vicinity, and he wouldn't blame them for it. It was perhaps too small for this group, but a shelter under rain is better than none.

As Tillius stood inside near the door, making sure no water was built up somewhere in his armor, the group went their way exploring the house. He was not exactly in a mood to be poking his head around in the house, not yet anyway. Another latecomer to the expedition seemed to have the same sentiment as well.

"If there is none, we might have to use wet wood outside." Tillius sighed. It would be a pain to sleep without a fire, but using rain soaked wood wouldn't be a guarantee to start a fire, and if it did, it could easily generate obnoxious toxic smoke. Tillius knew, he had tried that himself before. It wasn't fun.

Rezello

With a speech from Vesemir and a quick dismantling of the camp, the expedition had officially begun. Rezello took his place in the caravan, sitting in the second wagon; he watched as civilization gave way to wilderness, the forest engulfing the convoy before long. Though he had spent much of his early life living near the Twilight Forest, he had never dared venture within; the people of Scheel knew all too well the danger that lie across the waters of the Leize. So far, though, the forest almost seemed peaceful.

As if the mere thought of it had jinxed them, the initial calm quickly gave way to storm, and with the passage of time it only grew worse. Rezello pulled the hood of his cloak on over his head, watching the skies; it didn't take long for grey to give way to rain, and rain to thunder. The caravan soon was headed back towards a house they had passed recently; while such weather didn't normally bother Rezello, the intensity of the storm was beyond any that he had experienced in the past. Besides, even in a weaker storm these would have been no conditions for carts and horses, and there was no way he was going to separate from the group this early on.

When they arrived at the house, Gray Flame and Vesemir were the first to the door, checking for occupants before letting himself and the rest of the group inside. Taking a moment to wring out what water he could from his cloak before entering, he gave the living room he found himself in a cursory look-around before making his way over to the empty fireplace; some of the others, including a scarlet-dressed woman who had apparently entered shortly after him, were discussing the lack of wood. Kneeling in front of the opening, he loosely clasped his hands together, concentrating arcane energy in the space between his palms. "Don't worry about the wood. There's no need for it," he spoke, opening his hands to release a concentrated, cyan-colored flame that quickly expanded to fill the fireplace.

--Varanheim - Abandoned Homestead--

Evelyn should count herself as fortunate, finding an enchanted item so soon into their journey, after all, objects like these were the primary reason she bothered to participate in the first place. Hmm... a finely-crafted blade, enchanted for durability, explaining its exceptionally pristine condition despite the abandonment. As always when it came to magical trinkets, it took barely any moment for the redhead to quickly engross herself as her whole world shrunk to just be between her and this elven blade. As for the blood, elven, male... around three decades old by the time he was wounded. How peculiar... what exactly happened here?

"Eh...?" As such, it shouldn't come off as a surprise that the Patrician Princess noticed Fia's arrival far too late as by the time she did, the brunette witch was already sitting by the empty fireplace, just as the curvaceous enchantress began her introduction. ... Judging from her apparel - drenched condition notwithstanding - and the way she carried herself, to Eve, this Fia gave the image of an eccentric traveler who kept many secrets, similar yet distinct from Vesemir, but unlike the jolly senior elf, the brunette appeared to wrap herself in an air of alluring mystery, like a majestic tigress hiding her deadly claws. If she had to be fully honest, the woman... intimidated her, just a bit, but the knowledge that she was on their side was relieving, "Welcome, Lady Fia, tis' fortunate that you found us when you did, I suspect the storm outside won't relent anytime soon." The young technically-not-a-noble greeted the late-arrival, "And I'm Evelyn Theophania Konstantin, but since we're comrade-in-arms, you may simply refer to me as 'Eve'."

That done, she was about to get back to work when the half-masked swordsman - Rezello, was it? - attended to the fireplace, using his presumably-magical flames to fill said fireplace with curious cyan flames, Ignition without burnable materials... a very convenient spell, that's for sure. "Much appreciated, Sir Rezello." Now she could continue her work in comforting warmth, one could never go wrong with a well-lit fireplace.

Hmm... Done with the bloodied blade for now, Eve went over to its unblemished twin, the one still hanging at the plaque, then performed the same scrying spell at it. She expected it'd bear the same results, except without the blood, but better make sure...

The shinobi made a small bow to express gratitude to Rezello for lighting the fire place. He then roam for the kitchen and he went through the door next to the fireplace found a poshy kitchen with granite bars and chimney stove. He clapped his and ask the house guardian to use the house for convenient way. He also found a water source from tap water on the sink. He began to boil some water on some reasonable big container. A heated water would be better than just a tap one.

He roamed again to find the bath room. He found inside the door on the side of the corridor. It's quite unfamiliar with him since it's kinda modern and convenient. Smelled bit damp but can be cleaned before using the room. Inside of the bathroom has a shower, and fully walled with ceramic tiles as coverings. It has a single seat toilet and an open water cistern that looked like a bathtub. With a hot on the bath tub, he dip himself in bareskin, having himself a good sign of relief.

He gonna help himself before refilling others with hot water and cook for the lunch. The bathroom is currently occupied.

Glancing around and doing internal headcount, Engelbert noted that the whole group finally gathered together... or, well, Roxas was still upstairs but he could hear her coming even over the heavy rain, while the quiet foreigner was still close enough to hear him. The mood was generally soggy and miserable, but with a roof over their heads and a roaring fire nearby it'll only improve from here. Provided that no drowned spirits came to crash the party. Clapping twice to garner attention, the metal of the gauntlets rang loud enough against each other through the room.

"Ahem! As we're finally in one place, shall we do a small reintroduction? It will be good to know each other better since we will be traversing into an infamously dangerous location soon enough. Jolly cooperation and all that, yes?" The knight-errant glanced around the room for a split second, continuing before anyone can sound an objection. "It is only fair for me to start. I am Sir Engelbert, but do call me whatever you're comfortable with. Old man, tincan, or just my name - I do not mind. As you can likely guess, I'm best at the vanguard. Scant few can penetrate my armor, and I'm strong enough that most things that get in range of my sword will likely have a very bad time. And... I believe that is all from old me. Nothing flashy, but it gets the job done."

Once again his gaze fell across the audience, as if encouraging someone to step up after.

"So! Who's next?"

Roxas

Roxas came down the stairs easily, and moved to the dining table. She set the items from the chest down, and the pamphlet for the business, then set the pendant and draft a little bit away. She looked up to the group. "Oi. I found all this upstairs. The quiver and other items were in a locked chest. This pendant, picture and draft.. were behind a locked bedroom door. Why it was locked, don't ask me. Anyone who can.. I suggest seeing if they're magical items, or if they can get information from them." She looked back to the items, the quiver and pictures in particular. They looked so drastically different, but what was the time frame between them.

Carnatia de Luson

Oh my~? What an interesting turn of events. At first, Evelyn believed that she was the last to arrive, but she was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. Two more interesting individuals made their presence known; the first one was an armored swordswoman riding a steed, a fellow human who shared a nearly identical hair color and style as herself, albeit her locks had an orange ombre to them and she sported amber irises instead. She was... gorgeous, for a lack of better words, at least Evelyn believed so. Little did the young girl know, she admired her father so much that she became subconsciously partial to people sharing his traits, and the warrioress who just introduced herself as Carnatia definitely qualified as one, small differences in detail aside. As such, without even realizing it, Eve found herself not-so-subtly staring at the exiled noble...

Just after Carnatia gave her greetings to her employer, she noticed the young girl who had arrived just before her looking curiously at her. The girl had introduced herself as Evelyn Theophania Konstantin. Carnatia, of course, was aware of the Helvetia Republic's ruling family. She was sure that their family—both being important families of prominent nations that border each other—has had some dealings in the past, though she, herself had never personally met anyone from the Konstantin family.

Of course, the question that ran through her mind—and probably most of everyone in the camp—was what a child her age doing here? Moral issue aside, there was also the political consideration that one would need to consider for being on this expedition with a child of such an important family. It did not seem like she was exiled like Carnatia, hence, Carnatia's other worry was what the repercussion and the political fallout would be if Evelyn was harmed or worse in the course of this expedition. She did hear that they had a daughter who was a tremendously prodigious artificer.

Before she could approach the girl, however, Evelyn turned around and started a conversation with the hooded elf—who apparently went by Gray Flame—and the heavily armoured knight who had arrived around the same time with Carnatia. It would appear that the Gray Flame was an acquaintance of Evelyn's father. Perhaps he was even here partly on behalf of Consul Konstantin to chaperone her daughter? If so, at the very least, were things to go south, the Gray Flame would most likely take the brunt of the responsibility. Of course, Carnatia wished no harm on the young Konstantin scion but alas, such were the considerations one would need to take when dealing with a prominent family. Of course, both on a pragmatic level of lessening the risk of political fallout and morally just by virtue of being comrades in this expedition if nothing else, Carnatia intend to keep an eye on the girl.

Although...seeing the young girl brandishing her rapier in a short exhibition of her skills, Carnatia could tell that the girl was not defenceless. There was that at least, although...being an adventurer involved more than combat ability. Carnatia couldn't help but cringe remembering her clumsy attempts at various other aspects of adventuring aside from combat—many of which would be common proficiency for commoners—before Master Tokimune picked her up as his student. Carnatia didn't know how much experience Evelyn had with those things, but well...perhaps she should keep an eye, just in case. Also, she was in that scenario before. Although, if it turned out this girl was actually more proficient than Carnatia was at such things, that...would be embarrassing...and mortifying.

Before long, they departed from their camp, starting their journey to Nuria. Being the only one who brought her own horse, Carnatia was tasked to be the outrider. A task that she acquiesced to happily, as she trudged along a few paces behind the wagon, enjoying the sound of the flute one of the elf adventurers was playing. Indeed, Carnatia was perfectly fine being the outrider. It was logical, and furthermore, she was getting paid a hefty sum of money, so she would like to pull her weight. There was nothing worse than someone who insisted on receiving unmeritorious dues, and she hoped everyone in the expedition shared that sentiment. They applied for this expedition with a huge reward, so it was only right that they turned in a performance that was worth the money they were being paid for.

As they continued travelling along the road, however, the weather turned foul as a fierce thunderstorm fell upon them. So foul was the weather that they were forced to stop their travel and seek refuge at an abandoned house. Carnatia was not exactly jumping at the idea of staying in such a dilapidated house, but she understood the necessity—especially in an expedition such as these—and it was a better alternative than camping in this thunderstorm. She just hoped the roof held and kept the wind and rain out. Carnatia got off her horse and had it settled.

Another of her fellow adventurers, Engelbert appeared to have taken it upon himself to take care of the horses. Carnatia had never personally met the knight, but given she was from a family who had a long tradition of knighthood, she had heard of the wandering knight by reputation. Giving the old knight a nod of gratitude, Carnatia entered the house, where she saw some of the adventures going to the upper level. Carnatia opted to remain downstairs. They did not need everyone to check the second floor, and it was important that we still have a lookout downstairs, and so she remained on the first floor.

After some time, Engelbert entered the house. Carnatia was about to answer his inquiry with 'Nothing much' when the eastern-looking man came down, asking for some flame for lighting before a newcomer entered the house, introducing herself as a member of the expedition who ran a little late. Carnatia would lie if she said it wasn't somewhat suspicious, but it was easy enough to confirm with Vesemir here, she assumed he had done a background check on the people he hired.

Nothing flashy, but it gets the job done."

Once again his gaze fell across the audience, as if encouraging someone to step up after.

"So! Who's next?"

As they all gathered on the first floor, the old knight introduced himself, before proposing a small reintroduction. It was probably a good idea, they hadn't properly gotten acquainted with each other, and now was as good of time as any.

Carnatia stepped forward, "Well met, Sir Engelbert. It is an honour to be working with such a decorated knight." She then turned to the others, "My name is Carnatia, all of you may call me how you wish. I do not mind as long as it is not meant to be derogatory or an insult. As for my skills...well, I am a fencer, of sorts, though I rely more on magic rather than sheer strength. I also have some skills in dismantling magical enchantment, though I am far from an expert. I look forward to working with all of you.

Roxas came down the stairs easily, and moved to the dining table. She set the items from the chest down, and the pamphlet for the business, then set the pendant and draft a little bit away. She looked back to the items, the quiver pictures in particular. They looked so drastically different, but what was the time frame between them.

Carnatia then turned to the elven girl who just come down with various items, "I could try to take a look at those things you have to see if any are magical. Although..." She turned to Evelyn, "I presume Lady Konstantin there would be the one best suited for it if we are talking about magical items."

Quietly scooting around the room while Carnatia introduced herself - or, well, as quietly as a mass of clanking metal could be -, Engelbert reached the table and scrutinized the displayed items. All of it looking rather... personal in nature. He raised a questioning gaze to Roxas, wondering if it's a good idea to acquire the stuff.

While the place looked abandoned, it's still not that far from the elven capital. Perusing the common room for shelter was a bit of a grey area, but breaking into locks felt like breaching the hospitality.

"Please dont tell me you're planning to claim these items? The last thing we need is to be beset by the local law enforcement when we return from the expedition." He carefully brought the topic up, though the hint of stern disapproval could be heard from the tone.

Carnatia stepped forward, "Well met, Sir Engelbert. It is an honour to be working with such a decorated knight." Right in time, the young fencer - spellblade? - finished the short introduction and joined them. Engelbert nodded, it would be easy to imagine a smile underneath his helmet as he gave a thumbs up.

"You flatter me, lady Carnatia. I've just lived long enough to stack a couple stories. Looking forward to working with you."

Roxas

Her hands paused in looking over the pictures. She raised her head slightly, her eyes moving to Engel and giving him the glare of his life. How dare he. "Excuse me?" She looked up further, slamming the pictures down on the table. "We walk into this house, with blood on the floor and the weapon and you expect me to not look into a possible death; despite the couple being gone for 30 years." She blew out harsh air, jaw clenching lightly. "And then you have the audacity to accuse me of wanting to steal from said probably dead couple."

Was everyone trying to piss her off today? First the.. weird stalker creepy guy and now the large armored tank of a man. She clicked her tongue angrily, standing straight. She crossed her arms, glaring at Engelbert again. "You've known me for a possible 5 hours and the first thing you ask me is if I'm going to steal.. I don't think in all my time as an adventurer the first thing someone accused me of, was stealing." She shook her head, closing her eyes as she was trying to calm down. God, this trip was going to be a nightmare if she was going to get angry at everyone.. At least Tillius seemed nice..

Fia Blackfire

Fia’s eyes sparkled when the man donning green and a metal mask had managed to light the fireplace without the need of firewood. At first she though that one or more of them would have to venture back into the storm to retrieve the wood, most likely soaked with rain water. But now that wasn’t necessary. Fia stayed close to the burning pit, letting the heat help dry off some of the water that soaked her clothes.

“That feels nice.” she said softly to herself, her eyes closed as she clearly enjoyed the warmth of the fire. She opened her eyes again and gazed at the gracious benefactor, “and such a pretty color, too. That is a very useful trick. Thank you.”

Fia looked over the young girl who spoke up shortly after the fire was set ablaze. She was nicely dressed despite the weather and appeared to be messing with a pair of swords. Did they belong to the girl? If so, if she knew how to use them, then that was impressive. “Well aren’t you adorable. I wasn’t aware they were going to let girls as young as you join the expedition. And the way you speak. You’re just precious.”

Finally able to shake off the storm, Fia sat down near the fireplace and removed her boots. She placed them by the flame to help dry off. She looked around at the house and the other strangers occupying it. First there were the obvious ones in armor. She counted at least three of them. Her masked savior of fire could probably count as one, but compared to the hulking statue of the three she counted, he didn’t look to fit among them. However, the number of them wearing masks was notable. If she had a silver for every person she found wearing a mask among her soon to be proper comrades…

Fia listened to the introductions, or rather the start of the introductions. Engelbert started off. Despite how much renown he seemed to have from some of the others, Fia never heard of him. But it was nice to know that he was as tanky as he looked. Allegedly. Whether it stood up was yet to be seen, but it definitely looked promising. At least Fia would gladly put herself behind him and let him take the hits.

Introductions were cut short as an elven woman descended the stairs with an arm full of trinkets. Fia stood up and wandered near the table the elf placed them, curious to what was found. “Ooh. Are we looting the place already? Don’t mind if I do.” said Fia as she gazed over the various items. Mainly keepsakes by the look of it, they were in very good condition for how long the house had been abandoned.

Engelbert spoke up about the items, and Fia couldn’t help but grin. “Oh, how noble of you, lovely. Looking out for the sweet and vulnerable. Very admirable.” Fia said sweetly. She looked over to the elf who had brought down the items, then back up at the heavily armored knight, "though I don't think that was the correct thing to say."

Fierce one, wasn't she? Engelbert raised his hands halfway up, palm forward in a placating gesture. The righteous fury was frankly adorable, and one that he very much approved of. The lines between adventurers and opportunistic brigands were unfortunately thin these days.

"I apologize, I meant no offense." Said the knight, jolly as always. "It is an issue that I see arising way too often-" He paused as the latest addition to the party quipped, tone dropping into a monotonous flat.

"-as you can see." He finished with an exasperated sigh, stealing a glance to the expedition leader. If anyone can wrangle her, it'd be Vesemir. Though it seemed like the older elf was busy being miserably wet, no assistance coming from that end anytime soon.

Shaking his head and pushing the thought to the corner of his mind, Engelbert finally took a closer look at the collection of trinkets. Looked expensive, but that's about it. And then he looked at the photograph, and went perfectly still for five seconds.

Then he straightened, scooted over to the Gray Flame, and pulled the masked elf to the back corridor where a series of pointed whispers were muffled by the backdrop of heavy rain.

Roxas

Roxas looked to Engel as he proceeded to tell her that most of his encounters lately were people stealing. Unfortunately, Fia coming over did not help the case, but it was still rude of him to assume she would just take things in the house. She wasn't a monster. She frowned lightly, about to say something before he walked off hurriedly to talk to Gray Flame. She set her hands on the table again and sighed. "Still.. I'm not a monster. I don't steal from the dead."

She blew out air and then lifted the pictures again, looking them over. Why would the one in the chest be so.. melancholy and the other one show such a pleasant expression. Yes, the house was freshly built in the picture, but.. Something seemed off about it. To her, the first picture was either the woman's true personality, or it was taken after the second picture and something happened. Based on Engelbert's moving over to his compatriot in a rush; something was up.

Coming over to Roxas, still hunched thanks to his height, and sitting himself on the floor so as to be more level with everyone else, Forbann spoke softly."don't take it too hard on Engelbert. He's old for a human, and good chances are that he has those responses ingrained in him. If at least half the stories about him are true, he's probably trying to look after the party in his own way"

With that said, he spoke up for everyone to hear
"that said, Engelbert idea has merit. We are gonna rely on each other for the foreseeable future, so knowing what we can do is the least we should do. Let me reintroduce myself, i am Forbann Spiser, and if my height didn't give me away, i am an Oni"

Deciding a demonstration would be best for the next part, he put an hand foward, and he Shaped his gauntlet, the metal rising in a stalk and petal blossoming in his best approximation of a rose, glittering in the flames and sometime lighting itself with the sickly glow of the curse residing within it.

"I am a ferromancer, able to shape metal however i see fit.Unlike most ferromancer, i specialized in Cursed metal, and before you worry, it's harmless to anyone i don't wish harm to as long as i'm touching it

Reshaping the metal rose back into the gauntlet, he continued

"Much like Engelbard,i would do best when in the thick of it, though i'm more specialized for attrition fights than fast ones. Furthermore, i know curses and how to deal with them, even if i must admit my methods are...brutish, to say the least.

Carnatia de Luson

Having the introductions interrupted by a brief altercation between the elven girl and Engelbert, Carnatia thought that while Engelbert could be more tactful in the warnings, it was not entirely unwarranted. Engelbert himself had taken off to speak with the Gray Flame after a look at the photograph. A clear indication that something was amiss. Something that Carnatia intended to ask the two at some point. She might not get an answer, but at the very least she could try.

On the other hand, the other party of the altercation, the elven girl was currently conversing with the tall man—most likely an oni—before said Oni introduced himself as Forbann Spiser, a Ferromancer.

"Interesting, it's quite rare to meet another who blends the arcane and martial arts. In any case, it is good to formally make your acquaintance, Forbann," Carnatia remarked. She then continued, as she turned to the elf beside Forbann, "You are Roxas, correct? As Forbann said, while Sir Engelbert most definitely should have been more tactful in addressing the issue, it is not entirely unwarranted. The morality of stealing from dead people aside, as Sir Engelbert said, it would do us well to not get into trouble with local law enforcement. It would reflect poorly on both our employer as well as our own reputation, which could affect future prospects. And while you may not be of the sorts that would do such a thing..."

Carnatia looked pointedly at Fia, "Given the...unsavoury remarks from our latest arrival, others are more unscrupulous. Or perhaps merely short-sighted."

The Gray Flame

The Gray Flame was still busy with the map he did not realize that his boss had moved on to greet the newest member. Strangely, he didn't remember someone named Fia on the list.
He was even more perplexed when watching the elven healer Roxas bringing am assortments of keepsakes from the upstairs. He was too occupied with Vesemir's whim, a carefulness to not show any sign of association with their current shelter, and observing the house itself. Which gave him a not-really-pleasant memory.

And now such sense of carefulness was challenged by the healer's action, who argued that her deeds were just. The gray flame stood dumbfounded for a good second, before Engelbert pulled him out to the corridor, out of the others for now.

As the two went for a talk, Vesemmir approached the group. A spark of interest twinkled on his monocle when his gaze fell to the items laid out on the table.

"Pretty things they are. Some are mundane, some are... well, I can say, quite valuable indeed."

He reached for the sword, holding it by the handle for a while before returning it. "Seems like a premium smithwork, and they put an enchantment in it too to make the steel durable."
Then his attention shifted toward the gold brooch with emerald on it. Despite not touching the jewelry, he concluded; "There doesn't see any curses in these items. So worry not. They were neither ancient nor very rare, though I wouldn't discount the possibility of a tragic story behind them. Anyway, I know what the combination of Gold and Emerald entails. The healers usually wore them, and they were, more often than not, blessed with magic to make casting restorative spells easier.

He adjusted his monocle when he finally picked up a tubular crystal with a socket for wires on it.

"And this.. just a mundane crystal lamp. Usually sold with its rechargeable battery or the crystal itself acts as the battery. But I think that's the former. If you can channel magic, you can hold the crystal real tight and channel your energy into it like you mean it."

Vesemir raised his hand and activated the crystal, temporally illuminating the room with a bright white light
"I think that's all."

He shrugged and retreated to talk with Fia again.

Meanwhile

"I know what you are thinking." The Gray Flame said. Despite looking like he was experiencing a blow to an old scar, he was quick to regain his focus. "But my hands are tied. What a rotten luck this is. You know what, let's see how it plays out or whether she was being true to her words."

It was obvious that Gray Flame was not in an optimal condition to talk, but who knows, things might resolve quickly with to of them talking?

So, with Engelbert in tow, The Gray Flame returned to the living room. The items Roxas brought have already been laid on top of the table, like some sort of auctioned goods. He breathes heavily as if to prepare for a great confrontation.

"Roxas," he said, slowly, clearly, like an elder brother telling his sister that the playtime was over. By the time he initiated this conversation, she was speaking with a giant Fellow The Gray Flame who hadn't had a chance exchanging names and pleasantries yet.

"To be honest we already overstepped our boundaries simply by taking shelter here and using this very room like our own."

Maybe intentional, or coincidental, the Gray Flame's gaze briefly fell on the photo and the bloodstained quiver. His hand slowly reached to touch them, until something snapped him out of it and brought his attention back to Fia, Evelyn, Carnathia and Roxas again, the main perpetrator.

"But what is done is done. If you think you have a very good reason to remove these items from their initial places, then I am willing to hear it. Otherwise, this is not a decent thing to do, and we better return them back."

Nanashi went back from the party with a different appearance. He is wearing an elegant black kimono perfectly match with his handsome facial feature along and a pony tail hairstyle. The bathroom is ready for other to use and he did clean it after his turn.

"The house guardian wouldn't mind to use the house as long we maintain clean this shelter. It a bit angry to the elven woman for prying their stuff without it's permission. I too have guilt for going through the window but the spirit and I had already settle.

Anyway. Who's turn for the bath? I prepared a hot water for the bath tub and will boil some water again for the other's turn."
