Abasi, just Abasi, has developed the ability to imbue magical divination magics into a variety of drinks, drugs, foods etc. Weed being the most common. Abasi has no control over the divination. It might reveal something about the past, the present, the future, an item of obscure trivia, or something beyond reality, you never really know what its going to be! It's also not always clear what is the drugs, and what is divination, but his stuff is very popular.

Backstory: Abasi never knew his father and was raised by a single mom who'd emmigrated from Nigeria and worked three jobs to make ends meet along with two siblings.

The discovery of his unsual talents initially did little to improve the family's fortunes as they could not afford the tuition for the private school.

Despite early success in school Abasi fell in with local gangs, a right of passage in his community. Eventually transitioning to selling drugs and a number of contacts with police and youth services. The death of his brother convinced Abasi to reconsider things early on, refocussing on his studies and eventually using his drug dealing to pay his way into wizarding school, and sending money to his family.

He continued funding his education dealing weed, and booze to young wizarding students, coming in a few grades behind but otherwise was an intelligent, but underachieving, student that notheless always just squeaked by. A tradition he's kept up in ASU, studying potions and chemistry and adding the illicit manufacture of controlled substances in his reportoire.

Abasi has a juvenile record, is currently on probation for possession, and is known to campus police as a suspected dealer, though he's never been caught by them.

Any Unique Spell: Dominion - Seth can influence the minds of animals, to do what he wants. This spell also allows him to, as he claims, “know their every desire and thought.” He can establish a connection to one critter at a time, though he seems to prefer talking to an orange cat that he named Behemoth the Destroyer, and a crow that he granted the moniker of Munnin. It's been claimed by some other mages that the animals he talks to are slowly getting smarter whenever he uses the spell on them, but he has always said that such claims have no basis in reality.

Backstory: Seth hails from a pretty well-to-do Filipino family that migrated to America just a few years ago. Everything he did for most of his life can be summed up in one word: okay. He did well in school and never got a C, but not too well to be considered truly exceptional in any way. He was always in his own head. He would still be pressured to succeed, though, so in tests, he would wish that he could read the minds of the smartest kids in class so that he could copy their answers. He wished and wished until that wish came through. Seth actually heard a classmate's thoughts for the first time… which were essentially in the vein of “this wasn't in the lessons.”

The Magic Inspectorate would come soon enough, appearing out of nowhere in Seth's room and making him scream till he fainted. Still, they ended up teaching him to harness his magic. They noticed that he was more predisposed to telepathy… and had a special ability to actually connect to animals’ minds. Quietly acknowledging the potential for espionage from this spell, Seth was tutored by the Inspectorate to enhance his telepathic abilities.

Soon came college, and his family decided to leave the Philippines to instead settle in America. He would be sent to Arizona State University, and joined Phi Mu Lambda, as seeing other magic folk had been a rare occurrence so far.

Still, he talks to a cat and crow, even argues with them. Most would find that weird.

I'd be intersted in joining this roleplay; I was just wondering If something like Necromancy would be forbidden or taboo to practice. Some other ideas I had for unique spells were blood magic or being able to speak to ghosts.

Any Unique Spell: Mammicus Enlargicus - the spell that got Ava kicked out of Delta Iota Kappa. As a self-proclaimed 'master of orbs' Ava didn't limit herself to just the ones she used to juggle. Figuring one day that breasts were basically orbs, why not try them too? As such she can manipulate (but almost always chooses to increase) the size of the breasts of any person she sees. This serves no purpose other than her own enjoyment.

Backstory: Ava Sterling is one of many kids with no real hometown owing to her father's service in the military causing them move frequently, with several postings overseas like Germany and Korea. This made her turn to more solitary hobbies like gaming, as developing a new friend circle every year just to lose it over the summer quickly grew tiresome.

Over one of these summers, her magical gifts began to manifest. Without anyone else to practice with, she learned as best she could on her own by incorporating her own hobbies into it. She found it easier to focus magic through the crystal spheres she used for contact juggling than trying to manipulate it freehand. As such, it's incredibly rare to ever see her without at least one of them somewhere on her person.

She originally was in Delta Iota Kappa, but due to an incident involving breast enlargement and the (possibly willing) girlfriend of the (definitely not willing) fraternity president, she was kicked out. Afterwards, she joined Phi Mu Lambda.
