Sorry for not explaining it well! Each Ability or Skill on your sheet counts as one of the five allocations new sheets start with, and you can divide those allocations however you want. So for instance, with my Grimm sheet on the first page I used three on Abilities (Teleport, Firebats, and Hangtime), and two on Skills (Close Combatant, The Night Was Long). You can put all five into Skills if you want and just leave the Abilities section blank.
Excellent clarification! I've updated the CS accordingly and await your verdict!

Looks great! Venom Snake is approved, and you're good to post his sheet in the characters tab and get started in Mafia Town. If you want any further details about that setting feel free to ask. The next update is on Sunday night but it doesn't involve a drastic state change, so no rush. Would you like an invite to the Discord?

WoooOO! Excellent to hear, and yes I would! Just one more questioni...
What exactly is Mafia-Town, in terms of area, pictures- anything for reference? Is it from an established setting like Kingdom Hearts? Are all the chefs Italian and have cool Mafia names? Remember, guys like Vinny make the best pizzas. :)

The first half or so of the Mafia Town section of my opening post describes the setting, with pictures and such included. Its core is the Mafia Town from a Hat in Time, but as with everything in the World of Light it incorporates countless elements of various games put together. Unfortunately the Mafia of Cooks is actually terrible at cooking, so there's a lot of variety in terms of restaurants throughout the town, like Bancho Sushi, which is where Ms Fortune's been working. And Zoey's post with Juri adds some more context on what's been happening with the Mafia itself lately as well. Happy reading!

Hey there! We are open, so you can join if you fulfill the application criteria, follow the rules, and are able to commit to the posting schedule of once per week on average. If you're looking for a summary of the premise, I can tell you that Galeem essentially just consumed all the different VG worlds and made a new one out of bits and pieces from all of them, but since the RP's only a couple weeks old it should be easy to catch up on everything so far, and it's expected that all players read others' posts going forward. In order to apply, your character has to be from a real and existing video game. The closest you can get to something custom is games with custom avatars, but even those need to be properly situated and developed within their setting.

Instructions for Skyworld this week: everyone's joining in on a beatdown against Absalom, but this kitty's still got claws. Leverage what you've learned about how he fights in order to craft a sequential post of your character dealing some damage to him. Each one should occupy no more than ten seconds total in IC time. Of course, you've also got an ace up your sleeve: Dante's here to help, wielding the triple demon Cerberus as a flaming staff, electric tri-section staff, or icy nunchucks. With him by your side, sticking it to Absalom should be a breeze. You can setup up the next person for a capitalization or make changes to the battlefield (or severe wounds against Absalom) that the next person will have to reflect, so pay attention to whoever comes before you in this chain attack! If you have any questions about what Absalom or Dante will do just DM me and I'll lend a hand.
Name: Yunaka Origin: Fire Emblem: Engage Appearance:
Personality: She's very bubbly, and uses her personality to cover up details about her past. She prefers talking one-on-one, and doesn't really like crowds, but will tolerate others in battle. Background: She's a highly skilled assassin-turned thief, but she doesn't like sharing about her past as an assassin, and tries to cover it up. Yunaka is first encountered as Alear and their forces head to the shrine housing the Ring of the Dawn Maiden. According to her, she heard it speak to her and ask her to deliver it to the Divine Dragon. The ring instructed her to head to Firene, which she headed to in order to deliver the ring. En route to the capital, she was attacked by bandits and dropped the ring. After introducing herself to Alear and informing Alfred of the situation, they agree to help her search for the ring.
Yunaka sees a nearby ghost town that had been taken over by bandits and spots a ring on the hand of one of the bandits. She and Alear split up from the rest of their forces to ambush the bandit and recover the ring. Alear entrusts the ring to Yunaka in the ensuing battle. After the battle, Yunaka admits that she stole the ring from the shrine as she was strapped for money. While she could have fled after Alear gave her the ring, her resonance with Micaiah led her to stick around. Alear decides to recruit her into their forces, seeing value in her skills, an offer she accepts.
Sprightly and bubbly, Yunaka is an excitable young woman with high energy, contrary to what one would expect of a thief. She tends to talk with eccentric phrases that very few understand, most notably exclaiming "Zappy!" when excited. While she is sociable, she tends to prefer one-on-one discussions with her allies and friends, as she states in Fogado's support that she is uncomfortable around crowds.
While she is generally friendly, Yunaka tends to be rather secretive and becomes defensive whenever she feels like someone is trying to pry into her affairs, especially her history. While she goes to great lengths to hide it, on occasion it slips out in conversations, forcing her to slyly cover up what she said.
She was on the Somniel when Goleem attacked.
Yunaka was staring down at the expanse of land beneath the floating island, the Somniel, when someone suddenly bumped into her. "Yikes!" She exclaims as she nearly falls over. "I'm sorry, Yunaka. I was somewhat in a rush." Apologizes someone in a voluminous white and light green dress. "Oh, Celine*. It's okay...What's the matter?" She inquires, noting the look one Celine's face. Celine simply lifts and points a slightly shaky finger at the land below, towards the corner of her kingdom. "Firene is under attack. Forces like we've never seen before. We're losing soldiers by the hundreds. I'm...I'm truly afraid." Yunaka stares at her for a moment, truly shocked. "Sombron's forces? Why would they attack your kingdom like this, first, if they could have done it before? Celine shakes her head. "These...fighters aren't soldiers, from what I gather. I don't know what to make of them. But we're going to have to pull back, perhaps surrender Firene. Alfred** is already on the field. I will be going to join him shortly. I just wished to survey the effects from high above." "It's that bad? Why don't you ask Alear and all of us for help? We'd be glad to offer to." She is already shaking her head. "No. I fear if we did that, all would be lost. If Alfred and I manage to survive, then we will return." Her eyes flick back over the land, where smoke can be seen rising from some areas, then after a moment, return to Yunaka. "On second thought, perhaps it would be best to inform the Divine Dragon on what is happening. I trust you will take care of that for me?" From the northwest, light can be seen flaring up and spreading across the land, slowly at first. "Uhhh, what's that?" "Excuse me for my lack of manners, but I do not know or care at the moment. I must be going." She turns and rushes back down the path from which she came. Yunaka, meanwhile, turns back to stare at the spreading light. "Wowzers, this must be an all-out assault." She murmers to herself before turning and going down a different path than Celine had, a shortcut to the Alear's chambers. Soon, she arrives at the doors to his room. Thankfully, they were always unlocked, and Alear didn't mind being woken up randomly, so she allowed herself in. "Alear!" She calls, shaking his shoulder to wake him up. He opens his eyes slowly. "Huh?" He asks, blinking blearily up at her. "Firene is under attack by unknown forces, and Brodia is being swept by some kind of powerful light attack, that looks almost like a wave." She'd said the magic words. He shot up straight in bed. "Have Celine and Alfred already-" "Yes. They've both already went to help their kingdom's forces, but Celine was far from optimistic." He sighs. "A surprise attack? Now?" "I know. That's what I was find confusing about this. It can't be his forces. And he wouldn't be able to attack with light." "You think this is a third party we aren't familiar with." Alear states, looking up at her. She nods. "Perhaps you should see what's happening, yourself. The damage occurring and the light wave is visible from up here." Alear rolls completely out of bed, and opens the drawer of the bed stand next to his bed. Inside is a ring, which he takes it in hand. "Marth, let's got to the edge of the island so I can see what exactly is going on." There's a flash of blue, and then Yunaka and Alear are back at the edge of the island where Celine had ran into Yunaka. "I wish I'd grabbed the Dawn Maiden before we'd rushed over here." Yunaka murmers. "You have the Bracelet of the Ancestor, at least." Alear reminds her as he sweeps his gaze across the destruction below. His eye stops on the light spreading across Elusia in the northeast. "I do like Tiki, but I work better with Micaiah." She admits. Alear makes a small noise of astonishment, which causes Yunaka look at him strangely. "Do you not believe I work well with her? I did find her ring." She asks, slightly insulted. "That's...not it. Look!" Yunaka follows the direction Alear's finger is pointing, She gasps. A...tendril?...of light has branched off from the mass, and was steadily growing larger as it headed...directly towards the Somniel. "Yeep...that's stupenderous. Will...can it get here?" Yunaka asks nervously. "As long as I don't allow it to, I don't think so..." But Alear sounded unsure. The light seemed to speed up, and a loud boom echoed through the air as it stopped mid-motion right above them. Alear stumbles backward, and trips over a tree root***, accidentally letting go of Marth's emblem ring. As another boom echoed through the air, followed by a splintering, cracking noise, Yunaka simply reacted on instinct. As the second tendril of light pushed its way past whatever invisible barrier Alear had somehow set up, she turned and jumped towards the falling ring. As she does, she tears off Tiki's bracelet and pushes it into Alear, shoving him. "Tiki! Get him out of here!" She shouts, as she lunges forward. Unlatching one of her daggers, she drives it forward, barely managing to catch the Marth's ring on the tip of the blade. As she falls, she tries to twist so she can see if Alear is gone, taken to safety, but is blinded by bright, pure, white light. And then there's nothing.
*Celine is princess of Firene. **The crown prince. ***He manages not to fall.
In the Now: Inside the Qliphoth, in a daze.
Job: Thief Specialty: She quick and speedy, and deals plenty of light damage. She's also good and inflicting status defects such as poison, stun, etc.
Inventory: * Two Daggers * Duffel Bag * A Vial of Poison * Marth's Emblem Ring (He can appear to others and talk to her, but offers no boosts.) * Gloves
Lv: 1 EXP: 0/10
Abilities: * Quick Dash Attack: She can dart forward, attack with her knives, and dart back out range of her opponent's counter attack. She can then attack again normally, but she won't be able to dodge her opponent's next attack and can't attack herself on her next turn if she goes for the double-attack. * Poison Touch: She can instantly lace her daggers with poison, but first must hit the opponent at least once. The more she lands hits on her opponents first, the more likely they'll be poisoned when she uses this ability.
Skills: * Armor Piercing: Her attacks, despite being weak, ignore defense/armor completely and go straight to HP. ...more to come * Dark-Sight: She can see better than most in the dark. * Dual Wield/Double Hit: She can wield and attack both her daggers at the same time, but at lower levels doing this will leave her open for an opponent's attack.
Weaknesses: She has low HP. She has low-ish Defense. She has a hard time bonding with a large group/multiple people. Especially because she instinctively lies to protect her past, bonding with other players will be harder for her. She is therefore less sociable than most.
@AlmostEternity Hello and welcome. I'm glad that World of Light has grabbed your interest. However, before you get any farther, I have to tell you that the character you're planning isn't viable. Only characters that originated from games are allowed. Just being in a game when they originated elsewhere isn't enough, I'm afraid.
Edit for clarity: the above sheet was edited to be a different character after this comment.
A week from now, all the PCs in the Qliphoth will begin some challenges, but which one your character ends up in is up to you, so take your pick. Feel free to choose one your character would be good at, or not! Limit is two characters per challenge, so first come is first served. Since there are 24 characters and only 10 challenges, if anyone needs to sit out this week their character can get stuck in the tubes, but if not I can make two more challenges.
Infectors There is a dark, highly infested room with 100 Left 4 Dead zombies in it, including some Special Infector. There are also 3 Infectors from Dead Space in there. An infector’s objective is to latch onto corpses (which zombies are) and inject them with their proboscis in order to transform the zombie into an Enhanced Necromorph Slasher, a process which takes about 10 seconds total. If an infector manages to transform a Special Infected, a special Necromorph will be made instead .The infectors will attempt to make as many necromorphs as possible. This challenge favors the observant, and those with fast and precise single-target damage, or widespread AoE damage. (Grimm, the Witch)
Guardian A Guardian from Evil Within 2 is in a clean hollow with a number of mirrors. These mirrors will reflect all magic and projectiles, and the Guardian can travel through them. It’s also smart enough to use these mirrors against its foes. This challenge favors those with strong physical abilities or those able to accurately perceive if they’re looking at a reflection or the real thing (Sandalphon, Juri)
Unsigned In this infested arena Unsigned, a lich from Metal Slug Attack, will continuously spawn loads of skeletal Bonenoid soldiers, armed with rifles or riot shields. Maybe with more unique/interesting weapons that could be looted, or skeletons of stronger foes. Unsigned himself has an enormous, high-power revolver holstered on his person. This challenge favors those with blunt force, holy/light abilities, and AoE (Junior, Rika)
Core Stone This unrefined hollow contains a Core Stone from Deep Rock Galactic, which shines purple from within its rocky deposit. Once revealed for the first time, it will begin to float and tear open Core Rifts in the nearby walls, unleashing Corespawn Crawlers. Over the course of the fight the Core Stone will rebuild its shell twice, forcing the challengers to re-expose it. This challenge favors those who can break stone, blocking the rifts, and wipe out plenty of fast, dextrous opponents (Therion, Edward)
Empusa Queen This relatively clean arena features a large, daunting Empusa Queen and 2 flying Green Empusa. The Greens will avoid conflict while the giant demon fights savagely, but they can heal her (and each other) with pulses on a 10 second cooldown. This target favors those with high single-target damage and high agility (Ace Cadet, Blazermate)
Killabilly This infested arena is home to Killabilly from Lollipop Chainsaw, an large zombie that somewhat resembles Elvis. He has a number of abilities, such as high strength, regeneration, laser vision, zombie spitting, and most notably, spawning cars (mostly cadillacs) that he can ride in or just use as projectiles. This challenge favors those with high single-target damage, high defense or sustain, and/or the ability to negate healing (Roland, Edelgard)
Gaster An infested hollow with large chunks of the floor missing, home to a lighter-than-air monstrosity that's essentially a mass of misshapen organs, heads, and limbs, with four very long hooked tentacles. The Gaster (from Evil West) will avoid direct combat, fly around the arena, and anchor itself in the Qliphoth flesh to unleash homing projectiles, hellish beams, and flashes of light that can leave heroes blind for several seconds, all while a handful of other bloodsuckers from Evil West fight directly. This fight favors fliers or good jumpers, and long-range fighters (Sectonia, Snake)
Nyx A highly infested hollow that’s one of the many battlegrounds between the Qliphoth’s demons and the Floodfestation, with an assortment of random demons and undead monsters, including several that explode when defeated. It also has Nyx, a monstrous B.O.W from Resident Evil Outbreak. This jelly-like organism will assimilate any other monsters it gets the chance to, gaining extra vitality and all the monster’s abilities for itself, though these parts can be destroyed. The only ‘real’ part of Nyx is its core, buried deep in its flesh. This challenge favors those with strong gun damage and/or critical thinking skills (Zenkichi)
Successor of the Claw This hollow is constantly burning, its walls and debris engulfed in flames. Inside is the Successor of the Claw from Code Vein. This large, catlike monster is both fast and strong, dealing overwhelming fire and slash damage as she teleports around. She’s also very resistant to fire, and somewhat resistant to slash, pierce, and ice. However, she’s vulnerable to lightning, water, blood, and impact damage. This challenge favors those who can resist fire, take advantage of the Successor’s vulnerabilities, and keep up with such a fast opponent. (Ms Fortune, Midna)
Keepers A cramped, mazelike hollow of many small passages. Inside is a Keeper from Evil Within. Damage dealt to him is reduced by 90% (100% to the safe on his head), but he still takes break/stagger damage. When he’s stunned/broken, he falls to his knees and his safe bursts open, revealing the evil within. The meat in the safe takes 200% damage, and it stays open for 10 seconds. After his safe is opened once, a second Keeper shows up. This challenge favors those with high break/stagger damage (Goldlewis, Geralt)
Triple Juggernaut Three hardy monstrosities with the same name but different attributes, all encountered in a highly infested arena. The Juggernaut from Warframe puts a hard cap on the damage that any one attack can do to it, but its two conditional weak points take double critical damage. The Juggernaut from Prototype blocks projectiles, while its shockwaves and grabs are unblockable. The Juggernaut from Halo deals the most damage at the longest range, either using its huge tentacles or by jumping high and slamming down, and when low on health it will go berserk with increased attack speed. This challenge favors those with high critical damage, strong evasive abilities, or high defense, and those who can manage aggro.
Fighting Carcass Team A full party of four carcasses from Lies of P, encountered in a hollow that's consumed a church. The Shield Arm Carcass can change its right arm from a huge, wrecking-ball like bludgeon into a large shield that renders it almost invincible from the front, and back again. The Bloated Carcass stays back to hurl explosive globs of rot. The Giant Axe Carcass aggressively leaps toward and slams its weapon down on targets. The Heavy Carcass is a bruiser that attacks with spiked club-limbs and has a hit of armor on all its attacks. All are weak to fire and electricity, but their attacks cause the Decay status, which chips away at both health and equipment durability over time. This challenge favors those with area attacks, sustain, long range, and fire/electric attacks (Pit)
As the week of two-person challenges comes to an end, we've got a week (minimum) of four-person challenges on the horizon. Here are the new selections:
An ancient, powerful, and malevolent demon wielding some of hell's strongest sorceries. She prefers to torment opponents by conjuring 'metaphysical infernal phantasms' of past foes to inflict traumas and soften them up, though these echoes are not as powerful as the originals. In direct combat, the demonic hatchling that forms her lower half is a formidable physical threat, while Malphas herself can conjure portals that the hatchling can attack through, or for utility. Her stronger magics come into play when injured, including self-healing and an eldritch explosion big enough to fill the whole hollow. This challenge favors those with high single-target damage, high burst damage, high evasion, and healing denial Takers: 0/4
A twisted abomination of fused, malformed flesh and malevolence. It cannot be harmed or affected by anything outside of the arena it's encountered in. Rather than kill it, the objective is to fix up five of the seven generated scattered throughout its hollow in order to open the gate shielding the escape route. The Dredge will attempt to hunt down its challengers, strike them down, and hang them on hooks as living sacrifices. It can teleport between the lockers that would otherwise be the challengers' hiding spots, reveal challengers in the vicinity of lockers it opens, instantly break pallets that challengers it's injured vault across, and debuff anyone who heals in its vicinity. This challenge favors those with movement, stealth, and engineering abilities Takers: 0/4
A phantom memory zone meme encountered in an eerie, dreamlike hollow full of everyday scenes and objects. It deals severe physical slash and pierce damage, and it takes reduced damage unless its toughness is depleted by wind, fire, and imaginary/light attacks, which are its weakness. If certain conditions are met by its challengers, it can inflict the Morbid Dream status, removing them from the fight unless those who remain bring them back, which requires a certain number of hits that DoT effects are good at triggering. If all challengers receive Morbid Dream, the battle will be lost. This challenge favors those with high overall damage and sustain, attacks with Something Unto Death's weaknesses, and strong DOT damage Takers: 0/4
A battle that takes place in an open arena consisting of just three parallel 'lanes' to stand on. The Corruptor is a large creature of possessed Qliphoth matter, floating well out of melee range. It hangs back while a Corrupted Guardian (yes, another thing called a guardian) aggressively chases the challengers, floating its arms around to do spin attacks. The Corruptor will periodically interrupt this fight with a massive, deadly laser that covers an entire lane of the arena for several seconds. Once enough damage is done to the guardian, it will slump down and the Corruptor will float over to open its underside and re-corrupt it, allowing the Corruptor to take double damage. This challenge favors those with high single-target damage and agility Takers: 0/4
A fight on an open arena against another powerful demon. She has a variety of punishing AoE attacks that demand a lot of trial, error, and on-the-fly learning, and she can trap one challenger at a time in a dark orb that the others must break to free them. When she casts her Curse of Nihility, she will dispel all buffs on her challengers and prevent new buffs for a time. She begins the fight shadow-aspected, taking 50% less damage from anything but the light element, and at 50% health she switches to the fire element for the rest of the fight, changing her weakness to water. This challenge favors those with debuffs rather than buffs, high defense, sustain, agility, perception, and either or both the light or water elements Takers: 0/4
A horrific monstrosity encountered in a dark, infested hollow. It's huge, with many plates of dense bone armor. There are glowing yellow nodes in its shoulders that can explode and sever its main arms if they sustain enough damage. It can grapple opponents with its various limbs, bypassing their guard, and its fanged maw deals extreme damage. There are Cysts in the arena that will spit out organic bombs at challengers that get too close unless destroyed. There are also four Wheezers hidden around the infested clutter that will steadily exhale poisonous gases to fill the arena, but their noisiness gives them away. This challenge favors those with high evasion, critical damage, night vision, and poison resist Takers: 0/4
