To br clear, Hoshi is missing the ship, but will still end up on Traverse Town. TT is arguably large enough that we can have her rolling solo or with the FF/Disney characters a bit before reuniting with the rest of the cast.

What do we say to having Darkside show up while they're escaping?

Me and Daxam already discussed ahead of time a plan with Kindred to collab the Darkside fight between us. So I'm just not sure how we're doing things.

Everything can happen in the big collab. We're all together and the others can't leave without Zac.

I don't think we need 7 people fighting one enemy, even if it's something like Darkside. This is just how the plan for the story evolved over time, and the current priority is to get everyone out safely. So the two most capable fighters will basically hold Darkside off while everyone else gets on the ship, or is otherwise lost to darkness/whatever people's plans are to have happen for them to get to where they are going.

Yeah, but no one's getting anywhere without Zac's ship. Regardless of how it flows, and everyone would still have to react to Morgan and Zac's actions. Especially since Hoshi and Alias aren't getting on board without them. It just makes everything easier for it to happen in the same collab. At least until the point where Zac gets on board the ship.
