Carbombya: An Untimely Revelation

Inside his Chronoframe, Rastun jolts back in shock. The so-called Joe Convoy is actually Megatron?! Or at least a Megatron. That name is often synonymous with warmongering and carnage, striking terror into most anyone who opposed him. His Decepticons warred with the Autobots for millions of years, making the human factions of Earth look peaceful and subdued in comparison. In short, Megatron is not a figure to be taken lightly, and anyone with that name should be kept on a very tight leash. Which begs the question of what precautions Brainwave has taken.

"Brainwave, explain. Now. Why did you bring along a Megatron and what kind of measures have you taken to keep him in line? I realize we're in desperate times, but having a Megatron, with the same kind of technology you have, as an assistant is asking for disaster.

"And if there's anything else you're hiding from me, now would be the time to tell."

"Don't you think you have something a little more important to worry about at the moment? But hey, what do I know I'm only the shadowy dude that wants to destroy all of reality."

Things were turning out far more amusing than the overlord had dreamed.

"I agree with the crazy Unicron follower. This really isn't important right now. Besides it's not like he has access to our best tech. We're not stupid. He might be dangerous for Lowtechs but to us he's that guy that got beaten by sentient lab equipment that turned on him. Only potentially dangerous if he has a MacGuffin." Brainwave was getting seriously annoyed by this.

"Oh you guys have no damned idea what you're doing do you? This is hilarious. First you fall for scouting trap revealing all your powers to me, now this. This is almost as pathetic as this stupid country and I never get tired of laughing at Megatron. Please continue."

The trio needed to get their act together and fast or this guy was going to walk all over them.

Rastun hates to admit it, but they're right. Irked as he is by this recently revealed secret, he can't afford to have this group argue amongst themselves while the enemy laughs, as it's doing right now. Rastun prides himself on his professionalism and his ability to put the mission before his personal feelings. This assignment is not quite the usual kind for him, but he can't lose his composure, especially with the stakes they're dealing with. He can talk about the Megatron situation later but for now, this mess has to be sorted out first.

"Alright, we can discuss Megatron later. Can you trace this cult leader's transmission in the meantime?"

He has a feeling it won't actually work, but Rastun at least needs to show he'll be focused on the task at hand.

"Of course it can be tracked. I'm not trying to hide. I'll even tell you exactly where I am. That's how pointless your efforts are." The overlord continues his taunting.

"If you're so confident why the distortions of the projection?"

The Transtech's intent clear: try to get as much info as possible.

"It's all part of the game. The way I see it to you there are 2 possibilities for my identity. One of them you might have a chance against, the other means your doom. Do you feel lucky Transtech?"

Megatron was having none of this. "Oh please Tarantulas, who else could possibly have a grudge against me?"

The shadowy figure gave a light chuckle. "Why could Megatronus possibly be angry you tried to imitate him? What an absurd notion."

"I have his location. Seems he really doesn't care what we try to do but we're still going to need a distraction to get through the city."

"Just blow it up!" The Predacon's anger getting the better of him. "We don't have time for that stupid spiders silly games."

"Only as a last resort. We don't need to freak everyone out to the point that shoot at us on sight. Rastun, see if you can get someone to attack Carbombya so they can't throw everything at us. I'd try but after that mess with the Titans I don't expect anyone to actually listen to me."

Outside of Side 3

“Whatcha shooting at?! You can’t hit me you worthless scum” Marie bragged fighting the GM’s firing at her.
Quickly her Gelgoog cut down her opponents

The Schools ship began blaring with alerts

"Repeat the federation is currently in combat with three unidentified attackers" The crew member said
"How is the situation?" Hank asked Pharra

"There are two unidentified Rick Doms and one Unidentified Gelgoog in our airspace. They've wasted three of the federations mobile suits." He responded
"They’re crushing us!" The crewmeber said

"All crew members report back!"

Hank turned his back to the captain

Dammit your actions are too conspicuous!! Marie Albertia… he thought

Inside the colony
“An emergency siren? We have to go back to the ship!” Shinn said
But Asuna…! Emilu said
“I’ll find Asuna you two go get the electric car.” Erisia said
"Erisia…!"
She raised he thumb up and smiled as a response as she left.

Erisia began hearing footsteps as she went further down
This way!! She thought

Asuna continued down a abandoned hall and heard the voice again this time it was closer
“You got me.” The voice said eternally
“I’m so glad..you can still read me.” The figure said with his voice

A GM was hit by the Doms Bazooka
"Francis I told you not to waste ammo!"
"Sorry I was getting into a grove" Francis responded
"Well you unloaded into our spare parts! Be sure to pick up anything you need before next wave hits. By the way how was your boys class reunion?"
"Don’t know Ha ha!"

Asuna stood paralyzed by the boy in front of her

A..Akira!?

“Why are you afraid?” His words seemed to echo into Asuna’s mind
“Why…are you here?” Asuna asked
“Why shouldn't I be? This is where we grew up after all.”
“I don’t have any happy memories of this place.”
“I do have memories of you…my only friend. We played together here”
Memories of her father’s words during the tests flooded Asuna’s mind
“Don’t follow the target with your eyes! Why can’t you do it? You need to feel it! You should be able to do this! Feel it! Feel it! You can do it! Feel with your heart!! Akira can do this why can’t you? Why? Why?!”
“………..!”

Asuna fell over kneeling

“Why do you always stop there? You can force yourself to stop..but there's only one thing waiting for you. Death!”
“Asuna!” Erisia shouted

Akira turned to her direction and she began to feel as if she was being shocked

Wh…what? He’s overpowering! She thought

“You’ve got good senses girl. I don’t appreciate your intrusion though. We’re different from you. That’s right. You’re one of the…normal kids”
“What you’re something special?”
“That’s right, Asuna and I are special. We’re the end product of a genetic engineering experiment…that was commenced to prove…the superiority of spacenoids.”
“Genetic engineering?!” Erisia repeated
“That’s not all. We've also received special training. We’re New—“
“PLEASE STOP!” Asuna shouted
“This doesn't involve other people!!”
“What if I refuse? Will you fight me?”
“I don’t want to fight!!”
“That’s where you go wrong.”
“Erisia lets go!”
He called me…Normal. Erisia thought

Who would possibly agree to attack Carbombya? He doesn't think the Titans would be willing to do so, especially not after that debacle in Autobot City. But the ones who owned those odd doll mechs on the other hand, they could be a possibility. Rastun sets the coordinates for the valley and activates his space bridge generator.

"I think I know the right people for the job," he said, then leaves. When he arrives at the valley, Rastun does a sensor sweep in the hopes of finding what he's looking for. He'd have never thought such ridiculous machines would be essential to a mission, which is yet another proof of how unusual this mission has been so far. It will probably get even more strange from here, he thinks.

Kamille narrowed his eyes as he leered drunkenly over the edge of the pool table. Karako smirked as she waited for him to take his next shot, not that it mattered because the kid was losing terribly. All he'd managed to do was sink a few of her solid balls and scatter all of his stripes. The blue haired kid finally stood up, a bit off-balance, lined up his shot aaaand sunk the 8-ball for Karako.

"You are the klutziest drunk I have ever seen, you know that?" the red-head said with a laugh.

"Shuddup...." Kamille mumbled, tossing his stick on the floor.

"Shuddup~" Karako mocked.

"You....you are theeeee worstest person..."

"I think you're done for the night. Don't you have a bedtime or something?"

"Shuddup...."

"Mmmmmhm, it's time to go. C'mon, you."

"No!"

"Uhhh yeah, we kinda gotta go now."

"No!"

Karako rolled her eyes and left Kamille by the pool table, taking a seat near Yin. She didn't really want an incoherent child inside a gundam at the moment. Speaking of which, she wanted to know who piloted that one mech outside.

"Hey, I didn't catch your name, but any clue who owns that fancy mech outside?" she asked.

Eventually

Aaron Gentles stared at his viewscreen, a by now familiar blond asshole smirking back at him.

"Gentles!" Azrael began, "It's been awhile! Glad you're keeping in touch!" He shouted with an overbearing eagerness.

The guild tech just stared back blankly, unaffected by the other man's apparent cheer, "So. What do you want?"

"Are you familiar with the Ame-no-Mihashira?"

"No."

"How about the Sahaku family?"

The latter question elicited a raised eyebrow, "I am...familiar with the name." Gentles replied flatly, a barely noticeable tension entering the man's voice.

On the other side of the Earth Sphere, Azrael nodded, "Good. Considering your...rather colorful history, it'd be a bit of a shame if you hadn't picked up on it." The racists smirk stretched into a leer, "How would you like to have some revenge?"

The engineer's expressionless mask fell away completely as his eyes narrowed, "Cut to the chase, Azrael."

"The Ame-no-Mihashira is an ORB production satellite. It's controlled by the Sahaku family...who's only remaining scion is on site, running the whole operation."

"I'm listening, however, I'm not entirely interested in killing off the family, when they had nothing to do with-"

"The one in charge of the whole operation is the twin of the man that killed your adoptive family. And from what I hear, she's completely unrepentant for the crimes of her brother."

"..."

The two blondes watch one another warily, the lanky engineer leveling an intense glare at the foppish politician's smirking face.

"...I'll do it." Gentles finally said, breaking the silence.

"Good." Azrael snorted, apparently satisfied, "Did I mention that it's a mobile suit production facility of the highest order?"

Gentles turned a questioning glance towards the man, "Explain."

Azrael shrugged, "With the self-destruction of their Morgenroute facilities, the Ame-no-Mihashira is ORB's most advanced remaining industrial complex. It's actually pretty comparable to our own Detroit Industrial Zone, if I'm being generous." The Chairman of Blue Cosmos smirked, "Capture the facility intact, and you can consider it to be your payment for both this job and your last one."

Gentles nodded, "...I hope you're not holding any information back. And even if I'm by myself, the facility is likely to be fortified."

Azrael turned away, looking to something outside of the viewscreens range, "Actually, you won't be going alone. We've hired...top men to assist you in this."

"...?"

"Oh, don't worry. They were just fine with money, Gentles. Besides, it simply wouldn't do if we squandered this chance to have a production facility of that caliber completely off the books available for making...certain orders of a private nature."

"I understand."

"See that you do." Azrael nodded, satisfied, "Bye for now." He finished flippantly, making an exaggerated waving motion as the connection terminated.

With a sigh, Aaron Gentles stood up, and went to go take a money bath.

ORB Orbital Satellite Ame-no-Mihashira

Azrael may have known about the failed attempts to regain contact with the satellite, but with no one managing to step into it brushed it off as the defense systems performing their job. Little did he know of the true evil lurking within, biding its time until their moment was near. Red eyes shone through the darkness as they called out her name.
“Mina Sahaku.”
“Yes, my lord,” Mina prostrated herself before her new master awaiting his orders.
“I can sense it… more of those foolish humans will be coming here soon. Make sure there are no survivors, we have no need for them.”
Still bowing her head Mina inquired of their former ally gone rogue, a more interesting task than dealing with mice scurrying around the satellite. “My lord, what shall be done of the traitor?”
“Fritz will deal with them in due time, once he reaches the Orbital Elevator. You will handle the incoming intruders. The rest of your comrades will continue with their own tasks. Now go.”
“Yes my lord”
She felt as if his eyes pierced her back as she left, unsettling her as she exited her master’s presence. He spoke slowly even after she was gone.
“Only death awaits a traitor like you…

Takaya”

The martial artist had been intently eyeing the duo as they played their game of bar pool as he sipped on his tequila, having switched from shots of the drink to full on glasses of it. The man's tolerance for alcohol was certainly very impressive, seeing as how he'd been drinking the incredibly strong liquor with seemingly no ill effects. Kamille wasn't doing so well though, as he seemed completely shitfaced after sipping on the adult kool-aid that Karako had fed him. Yin would have to make Kamille man up later if the kid stayed around for longer. He swore on his pride as a defender of earth's best friend: alcohol. At that moment in time, Yin's thoughts drifted back to the Betas commander he'd fodderized as he entered the bar. Yeah, he'd have to drop a mountain on him too at some point, assuming some schmuck didn't hijack a mobile suit and sniped the guy out of the air before he had a chance to actually go through with the act. At that moment he was snapped to attention by Karako sitting down next to him.

" Kid really can't hold his liquor, can he?" He asked, shooting a glance towards kamille, who seemed to have broken out into some weird interpretive dance mix between doing the robot and having an epileptic seizure. The martial artist raised an eyebrow at Kamille's dance skills, wondering if it was normal for Adult Kool-aid to make people dance in weird fashions. "That shit normal when you guys drink that?" He queried, pointing a finger at the dancing Kamille.

At that point Karako asked the question of who the mech outside belonged to...something which made Yin beam with pride. "Ha...talking 'bout my GodZanger, are ya?" Yin stood up as he said this and walked over to Kamille, unable to tolerate his dancing any longer. "If yer gonna dance, at least dance when yer hopped up on Man's best friend." A hand shot out towards Kamille's shoulder and dragged him into a headlock before shoving the Tequila he was drinking down his throat.

If people were gonna get drunk, they were gonna do it right, damnit.

Outside Side 3

Arthur peered out the window while shouting to the members of the Culture Club in shuttle,
“We’re almost there! It’s Side 3!”
David leaped at the chance to see the colony and while shoving Arthur to the side.

“Finally! We’ll be meeting with Judau and the others before we head to Mars! It’s far too long a trip with just the 6 of us here!”

“Hey, I was at this window first!”

“David, if you make that much noise Professor Clabery will berate you” Roanne remarked while adjusting his glasses. He couldn’t stand how David pushed the others around, even if he didn’t mean much of it.

“It’s just a short time until we dock, there’s no problem Roanne! Even the professor needs to get some supplies right?”

“That is something we all need before the final leg of this journey, do not forget it”

“Geez, what’s crawled up your rear this time? All of our friends will be on this trip you know”

Arthur piped up, “It’s because the Federation and Zeon still aren’t on good terms right now isn’t it”

“Like I care about their stupid war, it’s already over. Instead of worrying about stupid stuff like that you should worry about what we’re going to do once we get to Mars.”

“Calm down all of you, the shuttle will be docking soon. Make sure all fastenings are in place.”

“Yes Professor” They all replied at once before following her instructions, some taking longer than others.

“This is Lieutenant Meyer speaking. We’ll be arriving on Side 3 Cluster 26 shortly. Prepare for landing and docking. All fighters are to begin a scouting detail, watch out for units concealed by debris.”
‘We’re finally here. Better safe than sorry as they say. A quick jaunt around the area to check for rogues then I’ll come back and see the Culture Club brats when they’re finished unloading.’

Carbombya: The Game is Afoot

"Well Mr Overlord as much as I've enjoy this conversations I suspect it is in our best interests not to stay here."

With that Brainwave and Megatron transformed into vehicle mode planning to run a series of hit and run ops until back up arrived. Realizing what they were planning to do the shoes started to scramble Carbombya's military assets, such as they were, as transport to catch the intruders.

"Rastun, we're going to keep them busy till you get back. Let me know when you're ready and I'll send you updated coordinates."

Just as Brainwave finished a helicopter carrying several Carbombyan soldiers flew into view. Several shoes attached to the soldiers detached to ambush the pair. Unfortunately for one of them they landed in front of Megatron who promptly ran it over leaving the cultist stunned. The remaining members of the unit opened fire upon them.

"Oh by the way, they have guns now."

Megatron realized there would be no way to gain the upper hand as long as the helicopter could see them. "Brainwave, you're going to have to shoot the helicopter down or they're just going to keep swarming us."

"Lovely..." It seemed avoiding casualties wasn't in the cards. The Transtech transformed jumping on the back end of Megatron's vehicle mode and took aim. "Let's hope we stop these guys here otherwise we're probably going to end up pissing off half the world by the time we're done." He then fired downing the aircraft not particularly caring if anyone escaped.

"Alright, we're going to keep going in this direction until we can't see the cultists anymore then we're going to double back and hit them provided no other aircraft spot us. After that we'll snipe at a military base to keep them off balance."

"These tactics seem a bit reckless for you Megatron."

"Yes, well, being reckless is our best option because it's not like me. If I behave like my usual self he's going to be able to predict my every move. Once he thinks I'm going to be totally reckless we'll switch back to my usual MO."

Brainwave couldn't help but think Megatron over complicating the situation. "Would this be a bad to to say I think you're losing it?" But the Predacon refused to respond.

In front of the Ame No Mihashira

The Nava-Hoe came to rest in between two asteroids, looking over the presumably abandoned space station. There had been no sign of activity, and Gentles had not yet received word from the mercenaries Azrael had promised.

The engineer, after some last minute adjustments, launched the ReGHOST and headed towards the station

Guess I'll just stiff him on the pricing when he goes to me for clandestine parts after this.

He scanned the area for debris of any kind, in case there had been a battle

There...wasn't any outside of what could be expected. Taking basic precautions, Aaron activated his suits Mirage Colloid System, and disappeared into the darkness of space as he began his approach.

Asuna waited on the ship watching the news announcement on the screen on the ship
The combat caused chaos but our life support and supplies are secure. An official statement will be issued shortly.

Her mother’s words echoed in her mind
Asuna you’re still upset at your father. Don’t speak of your father like that
She then heard Akia’s words
Why do you always stop there?
A voice calling her snapped her out of her daze
“Emilu…”
“I hear it was a group of militant Zeon remnants”
“While we are currently attempting to restore peace the militants have vowed to continue the bloodshed.” The tv said
“Maybe we’ll be sent off to war!” Emilu’s tone was jokingly but he expression became one full of worry
Sent off…to war.
In the simulator Erisia was taken aback by how powerful the Zaku simulation was.
Her training partner Kerry discussed the training data belonged to Asuna

"She could live up to being a Newtype" He said

"I wouldn't say that in front of people if I were you"
"You agree then?"
"People will just lose their trust in you. Will you leave? I’d like to continue."

So they have great instincts. Then I will gain skills that will surpass them!

[Simulation type: Asuna Elmarit]
Erisia glared angrily at that name on the screen.

Later into the night Asuna had locked herself with Shinn into a brig by accident, but the aftermath led for the two to become closer than ever to Erisia’s dismay.
After leaving the colony Asuna couldn't help feel uneasy about leaving her mother. She seemed like she wanted to tell her something.
Shinn was in the Food Gallery when Kerry approached him
“What?” Shinn asked
“Nothing.” Kerry answered
They were both leaning back having drinks and Kerry asks
“How far did you get with Asuna?”
Shinn spat out his drink and turned red
“It’s not like that!” He shouted
A group of onlookers heard him
“How rude” one said
“That’s so mean” Another said
“He’s just playing her?” a third one said
“What…?” A final one said

“You've got a heavy load man. You know right? Asuna…Asuna Elmarit is different from us. You have to be special to stand with her.”
A hand suddenly tore the drink out of Kerry’s hand
“What the!”
“Sorry I don’t have time to eat.”
“Instructor linny what’s going on?”
“I need to recover the lifepod from the destroyed GM. I also have to program the simulator menu”
“A life pod” Shinn asked
“We have to return it to earth. The soldiers family will want the body.”
“Instructor linny! Please let me go with you!!
“Hey what are you talking about!” Kerry said
“Shinn Barnack…didn't you used to be a marine? You can come.”
“Yes sir!”

Erisia’s words echoed in Kerry’s mind
If he doesn't get serious he’s going to die
Shinn. He thought

“I’ll always be in front of Asuna!” Shin said before he left.

It is unfortunate how close to the truth those words are fated to become..

Outside Cluster 26

“Careful! There’s still a lot of wreckage floating around.”
“Yes Sir!”

The security cameras projected live footage of Shinn in his Canard on a large screen as the students of the academy begin to crowd around.
“Is that Shinn?"
“Cool!”
“What’s he doing out there?”
“Look!”

“Hmph, he’s just showing off” Kerry tries to declare smugly to Erisia, who doesn't even acknowledge him. Erisia continues to bore a hole in Asuna's back while she stares at the screen with bated breath.

‘That place? How useless, how am I supposed to meet up with Akira here? There’s Feddie suits all over the place!’ grumbles Francis watching the two in his Rick. He shifts his head while their communication continues.
“Keep your eyes open for Debris”
“I know.”
‘A GM-79 Trainer. How dull’ Even with Marie’s warning about ammo a trainer wouldn't even serve as a warm up in his mind.
“Well, we might as well take it out!”
Francis slowly brought his Rick from cover to get into position to take out the GMs.

Shinn slowly approached the wreckage of the GM in his Canard, tensing up the closer he got.
“I have a visual on the GM cockpit’s pod. Beginning recovery… ”
“Understood. Be careful.”
“I’m not detecting… anything at all.”
‘We have to take his body back to Earth for the family’ Shinn thought as he grabbed on to the pod.

“Shinn watch out! We got an unknown contact coming at you!”

“Aah!”
Shinn barely shifted to the side in time for his shield to block the incoming fire.
‘I don’t have any weapons loaded… Goddammit!”

“Our GMs are under attack!”
Give me all the information we have! Where the hell is Lenny?!”
“Sir these may be the same mobile suits which attacked Achilles!”
“Lenny’s GM is not responding!”
‘Inept fools!’ The commander couldn't stand the pilots and directors he was forced to work with.
“Keep trying! Send out backup at once! Contact the Salamis! Signal our alert!”

‘An alert? So soon?’ Meyer couldn't believe what he was seeing on his screen.
“What’s the emergency?”
“Sir there’s been an attack on training mobile suits near a wreckage, they’re sending a request for backup”
Meyer checked the coordinates of the wreckage on his screen before quickly coming to a decision.
“It’ll only take me a minute to get there from here, I’ll head in, you two provide backup, make sure to stay at max range”
“Yes Sir!”
Meyer turned the Delta around before speeding off in the direction the skirmish had begun.
‘Well looks like I found the training exercise I was looking for’

Antarctica at the Titans base

A Mysterious robotic figure loomed above the ruins of the Titans former outpost in Antarctica flanked by other machines with uniform appearances

“The military base belonging to the militant branch of the lesser beings called the Titans has been dealt with Liege Centuro.” One of the uniform machines said

“Excellent, with the dimensional travel technology given to us by Liege Maximo we are on our way to colonizing a limitless number of planets in the name of our Empire now that we know it works without flaw.

But first we must be clandestine,while we these primitive mass produced mechs hold no threat to our might but we've seen Human reports of so called Aura Battlers, winged technorganic weapons that harness an unknown power.

Getter Ray’s an evolutionary based power source the primitives have crudely created a machine powered on it, arguably making its potential limitless.
Black Technology, mysterious ideas from their backward future; advanced to these primitives but mere sticks and fire to our own technology.

The Mazinger brothers” who’s raw power betray their primitive looking appearances, and of course the greatest thorns in our sides, those outdated throwbacks the Autbobots and the Decepticons!

This includes a meddling Transtech and his Predacon assistant engaging some mindless worshippers of the Chaos Bringer himself. Gaining either parties attention would be…the most hazardous of all to our goals.

So we must take on disguises belonging to those of our hated ancestors to maintain a smokescreen on our own presence while we wait to return to ready our next assault.

But fear not brave soldiers, we are their superiors! We are of the Cybertronian Empire and soon this entire Multiversal canvas will be purged of the stain of lesser life by our flames! “

The uniform robot soldiers began cheering

“PURGE THE STAIN OF LESSER LIFE!”

Whoever entered this rally and lacked a CPU was sure in for one hell of a bad day

ORB Orbital Satellite Ame-no-Mihashira

A voice blared through an open comm channel.
“This is the leader of the Sahaku family speaking. To any units in the area requiring assistance or wishing to board the satellite, I am prepared to receive you at docking bay 6. I repeat…”

The message continued to replay its contents into deep space.

Aaron observed with interest as a previously obscured mobile suit shot out from some of the rocks around the area, and sped towards the station in a red streak.

...

Wordlessly, the engineer followed behind them.

ORB Orbital Satellite Ame-no-Mihashira

"To any units entering Docking Bay 6, please follow the signal lights to the highlighted area"

A new message began to repeat over the open comm channel as the previously obscured mobile suit approached.

“I’ll go! “Yahagi said
“Instructor Yahagi thank you!” The captain said
“It’s my duty. I have to protect my students at all times!”
“Another GM has just launched” said an operator
The students could overhear the attempts to communicate with the rogue MS.

“The pilot’s ID is unknown. Hailing the pilot of the GM. Please answer!” the operator said.
“Holy crap”
“There might be real fighting”
“Is Shinn gonna be alright?”
“Combat this soon?”
“This sucks man”
“Unidentified pilot…?” Erisia said wondering
“Asuna! Asuna where are you?! Where the hell…? Emilu asked”
It can’t be

A student was assisting the recovery before the alert.
A student?! Erisia thought
Her name was Asuna
"I’m going after her! Prepare a GM! Where’s Linny?"

Linny was semi conscious in his mobile suit
Instructor Linny please respond!
“Gah”
“Instructor…Linny!”
