She’s a good 1.75m in length and 70kg in weight. Also, her hair is blonde, not pinkish like the picture.
Name: Aya van Hassel
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Human – Nymph hybrid
Powers:
She isn’t a full nymph, like her mother. So her nymph powers are somewhat reduced. She has a close connection to anything that has to do with nature. She loves grass, trees, leaves and animals. Most natural animals will instantly thrust her. Except of course large predators like bears, panthers, tigers or a pack of wolves. But dogs and cats will like her. She can ask to help her out, but an animal can refuse if it fears that it might get hurt. Or if it doesn’t trust her enough yet.
She’s also great with gardening and plants. Flowers will grow a little bit faster by her touch. Trees too. A more aggressive use of this power is manipulation of plants (or their roots) to lock enemies in place, or to wipe them down. Her mother once told her that her grandmother could ‘awaken’ a tree to fight for her. If it’s true and if Aya is capable of this is yet to be seen.
She also has a strange connection with water and wind. For example, she can ‘ask’ the wind to do something for her. Mostly she asks it to blow a little around her. People who know her can feel the little wind (if there is no wind at all) and could expect her for this. She hasn’t used in fighting situations so she doesn’t know if she could ask with her mind for a gust of wind when needed. Also, again the wind can deny her wishes. If there is a storm raging or there is a lot wind, it might just ignore her request.
Water is something she just recently discovered. She once asked the water in a pond to make ripples for. It did! That’s the most she knows about it.
Weaknesses:
Animal, plants, the wind and water can deny her wishes. For example, a dog will not come to her aid if it sees 5 guys with sticks or rods. Plants won’t help her out if they sense the aura of fire or people who could truly harm them. Wind will deny her wishes if it’s strong enough. Most likely water will follow along these lines of denying requests.
Further, if another person, for example a nature user, would be commanding the plants and so on, they will obey that person before listening to her wishes.
To finish it off, she has literally no experience in using her powers in anyway combat related. She once ensnared David for fun, but that is it so far.
Personality: Happy, careless, free as the wind and a girl that can’t look to the future. Every day should be lived to it’s fullest. She’s almost always happy and will try to cheer up those who feel down. She never really worries about anything and would hate to be chained down or held back by someone. Sadly enough she never really looks out for consequences of her deeds. This especially comes in when she talks and acts without really thinking about what she does.
Background: Her mother is a Nymph. Most of the family on her mother family is either half-Nymph or a full blood Nymph. Her father was actually the brother of the mother of David (so David’s uncle). But two years after Aya was born he divorced her mother and vanished. It was quite a scandal that the family of David. Never the less the family Archers decided to keep contact with the van Hassels.
Aya’s childhood was marked by a near unlimited freedom given to her by her mother. She was allowed to do anything when it was connected to playing outside. They often visited the nearby woods with her mother. There she gained and used her powers often for fun. She had a lot of friends even then.
When she was 10 her mother re-married. Her stepfather was a nice guy to her and was of the same set of thoughts as her mother. That was also the time David came over for the first time. They played a lot with each other around those days. But he never revealed to her he had powers. While she did show hers quite often. Making him trip in the forest or asking a dog to lick him. However after David’s mother discovered that David experimented with his powers he was never allowed to return to the van Hallens. That was also the last time he had contact with Aya. She did miss him and asked her mother often when he would return. But when she turned 16 a year later she started to understand the ‘family politics’ of the Archers a little better.
Then, a few days after her 16th birthday she had received a note from David, congratulating her and telling her about Athalia. Of course her mother and father agreed to send her to a school full of specially gifted children. The note also mentioned why he could no longer come over and explained the little light orbs to her.
