~ Hell - Unknown Location ~Lucifer sat on his throne, tired eyed and rather bored. He hated waiting like this but... He sighed, a heavy sigh, his chest raising and lowering slowly. He knew he should wait. Make this most of his victory. Besides, he had bigger things to worry about than the little Angel brat. He looked down the hall of his throne room and saw one of his men kneeling in front of him.
"What is it now?" He asked, his voice deep and rough.
The man kneeling before Lucifer had his hand planted firmly on his chest, his eyes glowing an empty white. Donning the orange uniform of a dishonored clan, he was one of Lucifer's higher-ranked officers. But more than having the abilities to lead armies, he was known to be useful in the arts of assassination and ending the lives of certain targets efficiently, no matter how wild his movements become. Raising his head, the ninja growled to the king of Hell,
"My lord. Apophis wishes to speak with you."
"Can he not come tell me this himself? What keeps him?" Lucifer asked his servant, glaring down at him menacingly.
The masked warrior seemed to click his tongue, feeling quite annoyed at Apophis' strange ways of initiating conversations with Lucifer. The insane man was among Lucifer's strongest men, after all.
"He," the ninja said, keeping his anger from falling into a swarm of curses, "says that he follows... his own creed, my lord. I personally do not know what holds him back."
Lucifer sat, staring at the ninja, his eyes glowing red. He shook his head slowly and raised his hand to his forehead.
"That demon will be the death of me." He began, standing. He walked over to the man, a smile on his face. He'd already transformed into his
human form along the way, preferring it. In his other form, he wouldn't appear as ambivalent as he was now. Humans were so much more kind than demons, after all. They had the capacity for it.
"Come then. Show me to him." He told the man, walking over to him. He placed a warm hand on the ninja and turned to give him a warm smile.
"...Yes, my lord."
The masked man stood up, happy to find that Lucifer wouldn't send a barrage of questions as to why Apophis acted the way he was. Immediately following Lucifer's orders, the assassin began to head toward the chamber that Apophis built for himself.
It was a very short walk, seeing that it was located close by Lucifer's throne. The ninja's face darkened as they approached two large, hellish doors. A scream had just emitted from the place, only to be replaced by the sound of steel grinding against each other.
That bastard's always doing something brutal, the ninja thought angrily.
It wouldn't be a surprise if he targeted Lucifer, honestly, but that would be asking for more than just one death...The assassin neared the two doors. He then motioned the king of Hell to wait for a quick moment before walking closer to the entrance.
The ninja smashed one of the doors once, saying with a dark voice,
"The
lord Himself has come, Apophis."
No response came from the chamber for a while. In fact, utter silence took a part as a response to the masked man's declaration. But Apophis would never be rude to his king.
Slowly, the doors opened, revealing a man standing in the middle of a completely black room. A single ball of fire lit up the place, showing the very flesh of an unfortunate human he managed to capture separated from its own bones. The flesh was hung on a hook connected to a wall, as if it were a part of his clearly visible closet of flesh.
Apophis smiled, his face moving unnaturally as if it were hollow. He wore two components of flesh: one made from fallen demons, and the other, brighter portion that belonged to his brother. His eyes glowed strangely, as if it desired something more than just souls, full of cunningness. But it was impossible to know if he was actually just a simple officer loyally working for Lucifer.
"Ah," he said, happy to find the king of Hell in his particularly unclean room. "My lord! It is my pleasure and honor to have you in my room. Thane, you have done a very good job."
The masked assassin simply glared at the hollow man, seething with a dangerous tone, "Next time,
you will get your disgraceful ass out of your own f-cking chamber, Apophis."
"Hm, hm! Of course, I will... Yes, yes..."
Thane turned away, giving Apophis a disgusted, violent look, before silently leaving the two. With him gone, Apophis turned to face Lucifer, sitting down on a crudely-made chair that was composed of the eyes of his victims.
"There is something I wish to... discuss with you in private, my lord," Apophis said, one of his eyes twitching due to the skin he wore. It made him feel itchy sometimes.
Lucifer sighed, chuckling slightly.
"Now, now, Apophis. When did I give you permission to order my servant around? Nevermind that, however. There seems to be more pressing matters." He told Apophis with a sharp tongue.
He walked over to Apophis' closet and let his fingers run along the skins of his victims.
Disgusting.... He thought slowly, his brows furrowing slightly. He shook his head and turned back to Apophis.
"What is it you wish to discuss, Apophis." He asked and leaned against the wall of the chamber. A chamber he was very tempted to destory. As much as Lucifer didn't want to admit, the gall of this man to construct his chamber so close to his very own, angered him. Even more so the fact that he would use the excuse that he wanted to be closer to his lord. What foolish lies.
Apophis plucked out one of the eyes from his chair, staring at it as if it were a marvelous creation. He then shoved it back to where it belonged, unintentionally letting one of the eyes fall off. He then said to Lucifer, his fingers crossed in a somewhat classy fashion,
"It is about... hmm, how should I say this? Ah, yes, yes..."
The hollow man put emphasis when he stated, "I am getting the feeling that we are being a little too...
passive, in a sense. The idea of sending some foot soldiers is a simple and efficient way to analyze those- oh, so
INTERESTING-...students, as well as the little girl you want dead."
Apophis uncrossed his fingers, directly facing Lucifer with eyes wide with expectations, as if he were expecting a shower of food at any moment, continuing with his concerning manner.
"I believe that someone... more
important should be sent to see how these soldiers we're sending should follow them." He quickly added in hastily with a playful tone, "Nownownow! I am not saying that we should have them taste Hell's stronger flames just yet! But what I want to say is that we need to ensure... uh, you know!"
The hollow man thought to himself, attempting to come up with something smart, before sighing in defeat.
"Okay," he admitted, his shoulders loosening up visibly. "I'll be honest, my lord:
I want to bring in a little more food. I've been holding this one dude for so long as a source of backup, and... well, I kinda ate him up just now. It would be an
honor to bring in some products from that grocery store we call Earth, my lord!"
Lucifer stood still for a moment, taking it all in.
"You're telling me... that you want to ruin my plan... for your stomach?!" Lucifer yelled angrily, small flames escaping his lips.
After a few moments, his lips began to curve upward, forming a small smile.
"Of course, of course. I can't let you starve, now can I? However... Do not steal souls from that school... I have plans for those children." He explained to Apophis, his grin growing larger.
"Take as many of the civilians as you want but be warned, that damned woman principal will notice and then our plans will have to accelerate. So... Everything in moderation, yes?" Lucifer continued, his smile growing smaller, becoming a bit more warm.
"If you, however, want to test the skills of these children, I have no qualms. Go with the foot soldiers. Make use of yourself. Just... control yourself." He explained.
He walked over to where Apophis was sitting and leaned over him, exerting his energy on him.
"If I find that a single one of those students has been eaten by you..." Lucifer began, glaring down at the strange man. He smiled happily and straightened again.
"Well, let's just not find out, shall we?" He continued, his smile so wide it forced his eyes closed. He walked over to the doors he'd entered from and turned his head back to address Apophis once more.
"Good luck!" He told him, holding a thumbs up at him and then he was gone, back to his throne.
When the king of Hell left, Apophis felt as if he made an achievement. He did it! He was going to go to Earth again! And have a teaser as to how strong, noble, and... tasty these souls were. Alas, he knew that he should never interfere with Lucifer's plans. After all, he was a great asset to the king of demons. The fact that, however, he was allowed to feast outside of the academy, simply made him excited.
Extremely excited.
"I will not disappoint, my almighty lord," Apophis said once Lucifer had fully left, his eyes glowing violently, the teeth that did not belong to him glinting with decaying pride and life, the hearts he had collected finally beating with excitement again,
"Lucifer."
