James had been almost to bills house when he heard a girl yelling something. When he had stopped and listened he realized that she was yelling at him. He turned and saw that she had stood up and was dragging another person with her in his direction. They were followed by several pokemon. His garchomp growl low as they got closer but James put his hand on its chest and it fell silent. " hello my name is James. I'm a trainer that has been around to all the regions. I was just going to drop in and see if bill was around. But that can wait. So what can I do for you two today?" He said as they stopped.

Carter knew Teddiursa and Tynamo could probably use some training as well, so he went to the PokeMart and stocked up on Potions before heading to the infamous Nugget Bridge. He stepped onto the bridge confidently, activating Teddiursa's Pokeball as the first Trainer stepped up. Carter could tell by his clothes and net that he was a bug catcher. Teddiursa, let's go!"

"Go, Caterpie!" The bug catcher said. The green Bug-Type attacked immediately, using String shot to try to wrap Teddiursa up. "Teddiursa, Fury Swipes!"

The two ttrainers battled, and Carter emerged the victor. He made short work of the others on the bridge as well, until he came to the last one. It was a shady-looking older guy. He handed Carter a nugget and congratulated him. "Good job, kid. You know, you're strong now, but you could be even stronger."

"Even stronger? How?" Carter asked.

"Why don't you join Team Rocket? We have only the strongest Pokemon." The man said, smiling darkly. "Why, if you joined us, you could get stronger than anyone else. Even the gym leaders."

Carter looked at the Nugget in his hands, considering it.

"Oh...wooooow!" she said pulling her pokedex out and registering the pokemon called Garchomp. When the other trainer introduced himself she did as well.

"H-hi! I'm Rosina! Top Ranger and uh..." she paused when her Cottonee laid itself on her head. "Novice trainer. I just wanted to see what pokemon that was. You said you've been to the other regions? So when i get to be a pro trainer i'll get to go everywhere and meet new people and see all kinds of things? Are there different pokemon in other Regions? I came from Almia so its a little different here. How long have you been a trainer? Do you have alot of gym badges? Whos Bill? What other pokemon do you have? Do you know what pokemon will hatch from..." she paused to breathe then realized she was doing it again. Rambling. "Oh, uh sorry. I got carried away."

James smile at her and then said " the answer to most of the questions you asked is yes. As for the time I have been a trainer. I would have to say its been around 10 years now. I started with a gibble. I meet bill here and he was busy working on the pokemon storage system that most trainers use today. I have several other pokemon and I have trained them all very well. My current team has taken on all the gyms and I have all the badges." He said with a large smile.

Rosina tried not to swoon at this guy. He was totally awesome, and she hoped one day she would be able to get gym badges from all the different regions. "Thats totally awesome. You... you should totally join us on our journey! We just met, me Erin and Ca- hey wheres Carter?" she said, looking around. She saw him farther down by the bridge and called his name, waving him over before turning back to James.

"Anyway, we all just met, but we're having fun and learning alot so...so you should come with us!" she suggested with a hop, almost dropping her egg.

"Azurill!" her partner said, bouncing over to the much bigger, scarier looking Garchomp. Azul was doing what he always did, going up to pokemon and demanding friend ship. Drift let out a small sigh and then fell asleep still perched on her head. She imagined it was really weird, and sudden asking a stranger to tag along but, really she didnt care. She gave her nicest smile and said,

"Pleeeeeeeease?"

"I don't know...I've heard some bad things about Team Rocket." Carter said, taking a step back.

"Nonsense! If we were so bad,why would I be standing here handing out prizes? Look, just think it over, okay? When you're ready to join, call this number." He handed Carter a business card with some kind of piece of candy taped to it. "That Rare Candy is for your Pokemon. Think of it as...a taste of what's to come with Team Rocket." He smiled and walked away.

Carter stuck the card and Rare Candy in his pocket, and heard Rosina calling out to him. He looked over and saw her next to someone with a large Pokemon. He whipped out his Pokedex as he approached, and scanned the Garchomp. "Hello. I'm Carter. Carter Dane." He said.

Terry ran through the woods as he heard the footsteps following behind him. He had been chasing a green flying Pokemon through the forest when one of his father's bodyguards had spotted him. He had been gone for two days, so his parents must have known what he had done. He felt a strong hand on his shoulder, and as he struggled, a branch scratched across his face, and searing pain engulfed him.

Two weeks later

Terry was still unable to walk by himself, he was left completely blind from a branch scratching his face. He wondered what had happened to the trainers he met on route one, and realized with sadness that he would never be able to be a Pokemon trainer. He was sitting in the garden, pokeballs in hand. He released all his Pokemon, and cried as they began crying, realizing what he was doing. He let them go, and one by one they left, until only Romeo was left. He soon walked away, off to cerulean, where he wandered the area near bills house (anybody want an Eevee? ) terry fell asleep as he laid down on his bed, and dreamed of green time travelling Pokemon, flying through the woods.

James smiled as she asked him to join there group. He noticed the azuril walk up to garchomp who growled at the small blue pokemon. James was about to reply when Carter walked up and introduced himself. " hello I'm James Shadow and in answer to your question sure I can travel with you for a while."

Erin forced rattata and machop back when they came to greet the new man. His name was literally shadow he must be a shady figure. Still he tried his best to look happy as to not accept him. Looking at carter and then to rosia he noticed how little they seemed intimidated by him and slowly Erin calmed down and machop and rattata came to make sure azurill is ok. "a new member huh? man we have quiet a few"

"Yaaay! More new friends. H-heyy dont be mean to Azul." she said to the Garchomp. "He's just being friendly." she finished with a smile. "Okay, so i'm going to train my pokemon now. Why dont we all meet at the fountain?" she asked but didnt wait for an answer. "C'mon my little Azul." She said waving goodbye and walking towards the bridge with all the trainers. She stopped and noticed the Pachirisu still followed her.

"Hey lil cutie. Wanna join my team now?" Rosina asked her.

"Pachi!" It said jumping and running in a circle around her. Struggling to get a ball from her bag, she tossed it at the little squirrel pokemon and three wiggles later, she had officialy three pokemon. ...plus an egg.

Going up to the first trainer, she said "Okay, ready for battle!"

"Hmph. Get ready for a major beating. Go, Beedrill!" he sent out a pokemon she'd never seen and she registered it in her dex.

"Okay Pachirisu, lets see what you got." she said releasing the newly caught pokemon. "Show my your moves girl! Attack that Beedrill!"

With that, the battle began.

James took out two pokeballs. With one he called his garchomp back and the other he let out his lucario. He and lucario walked to bills house and knocked on the door. They waited for a minute but there was no response so they turned and walked away. James and his lucario walked over to the trainer bridge and then past it till they got to the waters edge. The looked out towards cerulian cave. " do you think he is still here even after so long?" James asked his lucario who just nodded.

As Rosina battled with her new Pachirisu, she learned her moves. Each time going down the bridge of trainers, they were taken out easier. Pachirisu had known Sweet Kiss, Nuzzle, Discharge and Charge. Upon reaching the last trainer, Rosina was able to tell her pokemon what to do against the foe's butterfree. "Okay Pachirisu, use Charge then Discharge!"

"Pachiiiii" it said as she curled up and a electric field surrounded her then went inside her body. She ran towards the other pokemon before she released her stored up energy. The opposing pokemon cried out before fainting in one hit.

"Nice! Good girl Pachirisu!" she said catching her in her other free arm as she ran up. Pachirisu used Nuzzle on her then and she squealed, her mass of red hair flared out wildly. But she just laughed.

James smiled at his lucario and the said " hey why don't we head back into town and see what we can do while the other people we meet try and battle Misty." The lucario crossed its arms and then nodded to him. James knew that it meant the lucario was fine with being in the group but not walking around in the city right now. James took out lucarios poke ball and returned him. He then let out his luxray and they walked back to town.

As the trainer and his luxray walked away, Erin and his pokemon were left speechless, they were obviously weaker than this 'shadow' character. Looking down to the nugget he had won beating easily, snatching up the gold and strutting away before the man could speak at all, he was sure that there wasn't more to it anyway. Going back to beating off opponents, Erin was surprised by how well mankey took off with the matches, rattata was doing well but he needed to attack stronger, he wasn't taking to much damage but he didn't have much he could take and before long he was switched out with machop. The two fighting type demolished the opponents but at the end he was attacked by a tauros and had to go to the pokecenter to be healed before going back a final time to train again. After healing his pokemon again Erin began for the gym before hearing a crash from a house and seeing a man in a black suit and a large red R printed on the front. Hearing someone yell "stop that man" erin had machop use seismic toss and followed with a tackle from mankey so that he would be knocked out. "thank you he was trying to take my dig tm my diglett can finally... wait he already knows it? well in that case you can keep it here" said the larger man before giving the disc to erin. Great now if only he could get a machine for it. Running to see if any of his friends wanted the move Erin let out a smile, he hadn't smiled in a while he was so busy being a trainer he forgot to enjoy it.

Rosina made her way to the pokemon center so her team could rest before she took on the gym leader. While her pokemon ate some food and relaxed, she thought about getting an incubator for her egg like Carter had suggested. She decided against it, wanting to just carry the warm egg until it hatched. A half hour passed and she started to doze off on a chair across from where her pokemon were eating.

"Cottonee.... Cott tonee." she felt a light brushing at her nose before she opened her eyes from the urge of needing to sneeze.

"Ugh...Drift, what is it?" Rosina asked him, noticing he'd taken a soft place to lay on her head again. Azurill and Pachirisu were both on her lap as well. She pet each of them in turn and said "You guys ready to kick some butt?"

"Rill, rill!"

"Pachi, pa!"

"Cott tonee!"

The three of them all looked excited and energetic as they hopped off her. "Okay. Drift, Pachirisu, be ready to fight when i call on you. Azul, this is a water gym, so i might not need you, but stay ready as well. If we win this, i promise to swim with you all next time we find a pond." she said before returning them to their balls and leaving the pokemon center. She looked around for her friends and the new guy as she made her way to the gym. They all seemed to be doing something on or near the bridge. She hoped they would come by to see her gym leader battle at least.

She walked through the double doors and was awe-struck at the sight. The gym was like a giant pool, and three people stood in her way this time from the leader. She noticed a guy standing there, and after he introduced the gym she placed the egg in his arms and told him to make sure it stayed dry. Walking along the sidewalk width walkway that was like a maze, she got to the first guy. He called himself a swimmer and did a bit of bragging before sending out a Poliwag. (Sorry, wanted to change it a bit to make it interesting.Dont think he actually had one. Whatever.)

"Drift, lets take this guy down. Ladies first so lets use toxic!" She said sending Cottonee out. He was ready like she wanted and before the opposite trainer could say an order, he spewed out a purple ball of poison, hitting the Poliwag dead on. The pokemon flew into the water and stayed there for a long time. For a second, Rosina thought it was over until she heard the swimmer say, "Poliwag, use Water Pulse."

A rippled jet of water shot out from the pool and hit Cottonee, making him fly back a bit. At first he seemed unaffected, just a bit wet, but then she noticed something was off. "Drift! Your okay, use Enery Ball!" she said, though he didnt use it right away. Turning to her, Drift sent the move flying towards Rosina. Barely dodging it and nearly falling into the water, she called to him. "Drift, whats gotten into you?" Rosina was worried about her pokemon.

"Thats an effect of a good shot with water pulse. Nice TM huh? It confuses a pokemon on contact sometimes." the swimmer said smugly. "Now, Poliwag, use tail whip." The pokemon flopped out of the water and weakly wagged its tail at Drift. Clenching her fists, she knew one solid Energy Ball would beat this guy. "C'mon Drift, snap out of it. Use Energy Ball!" Her Cottonee started to charge the attack, spinning in a circle and eventually hit a wall. With a frown she watched as he seemed to shake himself off. "Drift? Energy Ball at the Poliwag, now buddy!" she said.

"Cott toneee!" it said, having snapped out of it. It sent the green orb at the pokemon who tried to dodge but was too slow. It fainted and she won the battle. "Great job Drift! I knew you could do it!" she said as he few into her arms. Leaving him out, she collected her money and moved to the next trainers. Together, they beat both of them easier than the first, then they reached Misty. She used a Potion on Drift before returning him to his ball.

"Well, well trainer. You actuall made your way to me. Great job. I am Misty, leader of this gym. My tactic is an all out offensive with water type pokemon." she said proudly, but not smug. Rosina smiled and noticed she was wearing a cute swimming suit then asked, "Hey, Misty. My name is Rosina. I'm a Top Ranger and rising Trainer. How about if i beat you, instead of prize money, you give me a swimming suit?" Misty looked surprised them smiled. "Okay sure. We have plenty here to share. Alright now, lets get this battle started! Go, Staryu!"

Rosina took out her pokedex and registered the star pokemon then her hand went to Drift's ball. She hesitated, before moving her fingers to Pachirisu's ball and sending her out.

"Pachirisu, i choose you!"

looking at the team before him and then at the tm he wondered if they would let him use the move for himself, he was sure they could all learn the move but only one could. Maybe teddiursa could use it, dig could really help out carter diglett was a master of the move so maybe he could catch one... if he had a pokeball, and Rosia said to make friends with them and there was no way a little mole like that would want to be with such a loud star like him. There weren't even around anyway. With a sigh he walked to the gym. Might as well try his pokemon on misty he heard she was pretty cute.

Carter took Teddiursa and Tynamo to train for a while before heading to the Cerulean Gym. Misty was a water-type user, so Tynamo's training was going to pay off. He smiled as he met Erin on the way. "Hey Erin. Are you going to challenge misty too?" Tynamo peeked from around Carter's shoulder.

"oh hey hey I got this move dig you should take it and and maybe we should wait for rosia to win? Who will go first anyway?" he said looking to the boy, he was excited to be in a battle with another gym leader he may only be at his second but he was sure he could win with mankey and machop alone and rattata sealed the deal. Teddiursa would be fine agains them, he was sure and tynamo even more. "I Can't wait to see your match"

"Pachi, Pachi!" her pokemon said as Rosina sent out Pachirisu. Fists clenched in her determination to win, Rosina waited for Misty to take the first move.

"Staryu, use harden!" Misty ordered her pokemon. Rosina's eyes widened. Harden was going to make this match go on forever. "Pachirisu, use sweet kiss!" her little pokemon cutely walked over ans kisses the Staryu, making it fall asleep.

"What!?" Misty shouted. "Oh no! Staryu, return!" she said, bringing her pokemon back. "Go, Starmie!"

Rosina looked at the pokemon who looked alot like the previous one. Registering it in her pokedex, she found out it was the evolved form of Staryu.

"Pachirisu, use charge."

"Agility, Starmie." The pokemon jumped up and spun around like a top really fast, before making a few copies of itself. Rosina wasent worried about that move. Her pokemon's discharge went out in all directions.

"Pachirisu, Discharge!"

"Pachiiii!" it said, releasing a wave of electricity out at all the Starmies. Each one faded away.

"Wh-what!?" Rosina looked confused. Misty looked rather smug though. "Starmie, Rapid Spin!"

Suddenly from the water shot out the real Starmie and it smashed into Pachirisu who flew back, painfully hitting Rosina's chest. Losing her balance, the two fell back into the water and as she gasped, a bit of water rushed into Rosina's lungs. Grabbing her pokemon and swimming back up, she came to the surface, gasping for air and spitting up water.

As soon as Pachirisu was out of the water, it looked at her with a sad look and ran out of the gym. Panicking, Rosina pulled herself from the water and checked to make sure her pokeballs were on her belt.

"Pachirisu! Wait!" she said running out after her, pushing Erin and Carter out of the way. Rosina no longer cared about the battle, she wanted to find her pokemon. Looking around she didnt see her little squirrel. Pushing some wet hair out of her eyes she called out for her.

"PACHIRISU!?" she yelled, tears in her eyes as she ran off towards the bridge to see if her pokemon ran that way. Taking out Drift and Azul's balls, she told them "Find her." Rosina's voice had cracked slightly as the three began searching.

In an attempt to catch the little squirrel Erin bust through the door and fell into the water and proceeded to thrash around in the water before machop and rattata managed to pull him up. Trying to look menacing with the greasy blue hair in his eyes and his shorts wet and a bloody tissue in his nose and red over his cheeks. Machop and rattata were both in fighting stances but Erin seemed to be looking away and in a stance that looked like he felt very awkward. Misty took a look at him and smirked after a while, she didn't have her pokemon at full strength but she was sure that she could take him on, letting her starmie that was already out do the work.

"so another trainer huh? well let's try your luck against starmie" she said with a slight smirk.

Erin replayed by quivering and looking towards the ground, machop and rattata were now looking at him to check with he was ok. Rattata finally bit erin by the leg and he fell into the water and began to thrash again before he was helped out of the water by his pokemon again. Erin pointed his finger at the girl in his normal dramatic way only to mumble "it was nothing" and dashing away in fear. What was that all about, he just kind of freaked out and ran away, but that wasn't his style... could he be... in love, Erin's first crush.
