i grab a gem that seems to emit light from my bottomless pouch before leaving it here and gesturing towards a nearby cave and saying "lady's first"

She moves towards the cave.
"What's in there?" She asks, trying to sense what is.

she finds nothing living inside the cave.
"just an entrance into the fog" i say evenly as i step up next to her, shining a light on a stone door set slightly farther into the cave and opening it for her

She goes to step though first, sensing to see if something is there.

she finds nothing alive in the small room.
i step inside with her and shut the door, the sound of many mechanisms locking it behind us. "there are traps ahead so i'll go first, step where i step" i say evenly, stepping into the hallways and stepping on very specific parts of the floor before ending up on the other side, the light from my gem still managing to reach her

She does the same, with ease. Even with out her powers, she moves gracefully.

she finds many bones spread across the floor, some charred others glowing while all are bleached white, around the room.
i pull a lever and use a meido to absorb a fireball before i begin to radiate a white smoke as the lever resets itself.
"the trap is set to be different every time" i say evenly as i step aside to let her pull the lever

she hears mechanisms working almost instantly before a sword blade runs her through and retracts. i go to her, knowing it to be a minor annoyance to her and heal her with a yellow light before offering a hand to help her up

((I'm bored, so I'm going to set up the base for an rp. Anyone who wishes may join))
Amongst the ruins of an old city, covered by moss and ivy, stands a single cafe. The city had fallen into disrepair many many years ago, and in fact most of the planet was lifeless. Large chunks of the city were reduced to rubble and craters by the massive war that had torn the land, and reduced the population of the planet so severely that this city had been left abandoned so. However, even amongst the dust and encroaching wildlife, the cafe stands perfectly intact, as if time had not touched it. It's stone build was reminiscent of medieval times, and large green letters on the front named it the Wishing Well Cafe, surrounded by pleasant wooden tables, covered by parasols meant for a much sunnier day. A mystery cafe in a wasteland of stone.

maxwell appears from black smoke accompanied by terrified cries before walking over to a table and awaiting service, knowing such a place as this must have something to peak his interest and suite his palate

((maxwell... BECAUSE I CAN))

A smiling girl in a long black dress walks out of the cafe's main building, a bright smile on her face, her eyes a pale, watery green to match her dark green pigtails, which reach all the way down to her ankles. She was holding a menu, and walked up to Maxwell's table. Her feet were bare, oddly enough, and she smelled faintly of wet dirt, like a grass field after it's rained, a smell quite unfitting in the concrete garden of the city grounds. However, the oddest thing Maxwell could sense about this strange girl was in fact not something about her, but a lack of something. Fear. This girl who stood before Maxwell knew not an ounce of fear. Every human knew a little fear, even if it were just the fear that their clothes didn't fit together, and yet there was not a trace of it to be found on the girl. "Hello, sir. Welcome to the Wishing Well Cafe."

"why hello young mrs., might i inquire as to your menu selection? you see i'm a man of peculiar tastes and i've been in search of a place which might be able to be my regular dining establishment" maxwell says with a deep, silken voice that was quite kind despite being something that could be interpreted as fear incarnate. maxwell's towering form allowed him to still be able to look with a downward slant despite being seated, and his faint smile promoted a kind manner despite the aura of nightmares surrounding him which would drive most psychics insane with fear if they were to even come near him. his pinstripe coat was form fitting and especially clean, having been washed just this morning while his black top hat rested on the table, his ivory cane resting against the table and exuding the same aura, amplifying it to the point of being able to send shivers down any normal person's spine upon nearing it

The girl nods, without even the slightest hint of fear. "Of course!" She instantly places a rather short menu on the table. "Please feel free to browse. I'll be back once you've decided what to order!" She then walks off, still blissfully oblivious, entering the cafe's main building once more. You can see her through the windows, cleaning tables and moving around dishes, although there doesn't seem to be an actual cook. The menu itself is comprised of fairly simple things, standard for a cafe to offer. However, as you're done reading it, your interest is caught. Once you had finished reading, and started reading from the top once more, you see the menu has changed, and it continues to do so each time you finish reading.

maxwell continues reading until he finds things he might want such as sandwhiches made from the flesh of slowly tortured and brutally murdered murder victims, tea made with nightshade and laced with ravings from mad men given corporeal form, and just some normal scones with fruit that was fertilized with the corpses of a universe wide genocide where each captured victim was flayed, stabbed repeatedly, forced to watch opra, and then finally killed by impalement as their family watched and awaited their turn. after finding these items maxwell lays down the menu and awaits patiently for the girl to return, planning on making this establishment a regular visit for tea

Surprisingly, these specific items are very soon on the list, requiring only a few readings to get to. With each reading, it got closer to what Maxwell wanted, until he read his entire order on a single page. The moment this occured, the green-haired girl reappeared from the cafe once more, walking over to your table, still smiling. "I see you've made your choice. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay beforehand. The price, however, is but a quarter." She smiles, cocking her head, and holding out her hand for the price she had named, expectantly. However, as she does, there's a strong feeling of magic in the air.

"and what, might i ask, is the other cost to such a meal?" maxwell asks calmly, noticing the faint feeling of magic and know that such an order wouldn't cost so little without something more in the way of mystical binding or curse, which he could currently do without, the last one still bringing up annoying itches at times. despite all the foreboding atmosphere he takes a quarter from his pocket but doesn't hand it over, awaiting his answers

The girl simply giggles. "No other costs whatsoever. You pay a quarter, and you get what you want. That's the deal." At the sight of the quarter, the magic only increases, seeming to focus around the coin as if it were some sort of magical symbol, despite not possessing any real magic. However, you do feel oddly wet, and the girl seems to be shimering slightly. She's clearly the source of the magic.
