"then what's with the magic?" maxwell asks, obviously not buying until he gets a full explanation despite how nice the girl is or how nice the deal sounds

The girl simply smiles. "Stubborn." her mind leaves, before she simply blinks. Somehow, that simple act carries a massive weight, and you can feel the magic collapse. The coin is still in your hand, but the menu is gone, and the girl is smiling at you. "Come back any time!" With that, she simply walks back into the building.

"Another customer!" Lily smiles, as she places down the menu. As before, the menu would change, singling out whatever Riki wished for in a matter of food. At one time, however, a rather disturbing option appears on the menu. It's labeled simply 'death'. The girl is simply back to cleaning and moving around plates, seemingly without purpose, as she moves the same plates back only moments later.

The menu continues cycling, until, eventually, all it states, on the small piece of paper, in large letters, is a single word. Life. And yet, the meaning can be felt. "I see you've made your order. The fee is a single quarter." Lily smiles down at Riki, her hair no longer wet as before, as dainty and cheerful as when Maxwell had first arrived. However, once more, magic can be felt building in the air.

As you do, you find a mind alien to normal humans. As you're not trying to break it, you find it to be incredibly old. Whatever this being is, it's nothing like human, and it's been around for a long while. However, more importantly, the moment she takes the quarters, they disappear. "Thank you." For a moment, Riki feels as if he's drowning, before he suddenly feels himself isolated from the country in his mind. He feels it all slip away, as his loneliness encompasses. hate, fear and anger, pain and sadness, all that he had never felt, multiplied a hundred times over by the drugs he had consumed, all the suffering he had ignored. True life, and all of it's horrors, a first brush with true suffering, as his family is ripped away from him, and he is left completely alone. "Come back anytime." Lily turns, as she walks back to her bar. He had wished for life, and life had been granted. What he wanted, however, was not always what he needed.

(very descriptive)At first, the anticipation of finding lethal ground was terrifying, but then, as time became meaningless and reality blurred into a new-or-non existence, Mithias was able to calm himself. ...that is, as much as he could still identify himself. His first thought was that he had died again, for real this time, perhaps, and that he was in eternity with the ultimate god... who also seemed to be angry. Maybe that was a shallow interpretation. Hanging there, or falling there, limply, Mithias listened and waited, trying to glean more about the all-encompassing entity before him that was everything. What was the point of even speaking?

The being stuck its hand out, and the darkness swirled around, bending to his will."You are far out of your league. I used to be like you...a creature that hunted..killed....I WAS power..fear...at one point. But now, I am going to find every last thing like me and you...and stamp it out." He says.
