[IC] The Orphanage for the Unusual

Nixie's eyes go big as the lady opens the door. "Uh, h-hi. My names Nixie. I'm new here." Nixie wasn't sure what to say and words were sliding out before she could stop them. Good job, you're just perfect with words. Nixie thought to herself.

The housekeeper crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "I can see your new here Nixie. This is a very special orphanage for very special children. What makes you special enough to qualify?"

Nixie gave the lady a knowing smile. She then closed her eyes and concentrated. She could slowly feel herself shrinking, her hands and feet getting smaller. Her nails turned narrow and thinner. She could feel the fur on her skin. When Nixie opened her eyes she could see the lady towering above her. Slowly, she let out a purr. The only thing that should distinguish Nixie from any other cat would be her shocking blue eyes.

The housekeeper nodded. "You might want to change back. We're having breakfast if I can gather the others and then we are sparring."

Nixie closed her eyes again and took her human form back on. Something felt wrong though. She looked behind her. The cat tail was still there. "Umm, this won't freak anyone out, will it?" Nixie asked, pointing to the tail that wouldn't go away until who knew when. She was still getting used to body part of animals staying attached to her,

"Probably. But they will get use to it." The housekeeper stepped back and allowed the girl to enter.

Slowly Nixie walked into the room past the lady. She looked around the orphanage.

"The girls should be at the table or atleast some of them." The housekeeper said ringing the dinner bell. "Go introduce yourself."

Myra got up and walked to the dining hall when she heard the bell, she saw the new girl on her way and smirked. She continued walking and took a seat.

Nixie padded over to the table and looked down. "Hello, I'm Nixie." She spoke quietly.

Marshal walked down the steps breathing hard, he looked at the housekeeper confused as he knew not what the bell meant. He looked at the new girl and jumped back when he saw the tail.

Myra looked at her and smiled, she saw the tail and her smile widened. "Amazing, something to do with animals right?" She gets up and offers Nixie a hand.

"A new arrival?" Katherin ask curiously from the table. She heard Myra say something about animals. Did they have a shapeshifter. That would make things interesting.

Nixie looked up. A smile spread across her lips. "Uh, yeah. Shapeshifter, but only animals." Her tail flicked, showing she was happy. "Sometimes it takes awhile for certain parts to go back to normal."

"Seer." Myra says simply, she wanted to try something with Nixie. She kept her hand up and glanced down at it smiling awkwardly.

Nixie looked at the girl strangely. But dismissed it, standing still but moving her head to look about.

Marshal went to the farthest end of the table, the tail freaked him out, it too would find it's way into his dreams.

"s-shapeshifter, that's r-really cool"

Nixie looked at the boy who spoke. "Thanks." She said with a smile. "What can you do?"

Roxy growled as she pushed past another newcomer. She took her usually spot.

Myra bit her lip and went over to the wall, she touched it and gave it a peaceful meadow scene with puppies barking and playing around. "What a waste." She muttered, she had worked hard on that scene and it was useless. Now she started working on dark scenes for the fight.
