Birthplace: Konohagakure, The Land of Fire

Rank: GeninChakra Nature: Currently undiscovered
Personality: Outwardly, Matsuo can be considered apathetic, if not downright lazy, slacking off in nearly all areas of his education and shinobi training. This does not extend to his interpersonal relationships, where he is generally a caring and almost respectful person for those he has deemed worthy of companionship, though this doesn't stop him from becoming quickly annoyed at the more hyperactive of his fellow shinobi, being the appreciator of silence and solitude that he is. Underneath the shell of sloth, Matsuo drives himself toward one singular goal: To surpass his physical limitations whenever he can, and has even jokingly been called obsessed over finding a worthy opponent amongst his peers.
History: The Bushou clan has always been particularly storied, seeing as their history predates the Rikudo Sennin himself. Truly, the Bushou had once been a nomadic troupe of martial artists who abhored the use of man made weapons in combat. A member of their ranks was even rumored to have taught the Sage of Six Paths their uniqe style of Taijutsu in the legend's childhood. It was after the Sage climbed the Shinju and ate the fruit that everything began to change for the Bushou Clan.
During the Sage's rise to power, the Bushou had been staunchly against his naively gifting the manipulation of chakra to the world of men, and had all but exiled themselves into the most obscure places, from the mountains of Iwagakure to the Islands of The Land of Water, almost constantly relocating themselves whenever war came to their settlements, which for nearly a century, it inevitably did. Eventually, a Bushou abandoned the clan and became one of the Sage's disciples, and eventually, one of those who abandoned their former master for the way of war, however, this Bushou alone was not strong enough to fend for himself, and rather than sentence the clan to death, he aligned with the Sage's Elder Son and became one of the founding members of the Village Hidden in The Leaves.
Reluctantly, the clan migrated to this new village, this new home, and intigrated itself amongst its population. Their famed kinsmen passed some ten or so years following the village's founding, and slowly but surely, the Bushou have accepted chakra and ninjutsu into their training. There are still those amongst the clan that oppose chakra, either deeming themselves unworthy of its use, or dismissing at as a "coward's weapon", but the opposition is slowly erouding as the Bushou once again shift and adapt to a new environment, producing a fair amount of skilled shinobi for the continued defense of The Leaf.
Matsuo Bushou is one of said shinobi. Born to one of the Bushou's fundamentalists, Matsuo was raised training nothing but his physical ability and taijutsu, and forbidden from practicing even the simplest ninjutsu taught by his teachers at the academy on Bushou grounds. Ironically, Matsuo was not one of the vocal minority of his generation that preached for the right to practice ninjutsu, but rather accepted his father's traditional way of thinking and devoted his entire being into taijutsu, in which he excelled. But that wasn't enough for Matsuo, who constantly pushed himself to the very limit of his body, and on one fateful day when training with his father and losing for the upmost time, Matsuo inadvertently opened the First of the Eight Gates, shattering every bone in his right leg after his father luckily ducked his kick which caused the young teen to knock over a fairly large tree, and since he awoke, he has been developing a move to be his ace in the hole, a last resort, to be used only in the most dire of situations. Or...perhaps...if he found someone who drove him to consider such an extreme.
Only when it was time for the Leaf's Graduation Exam did this worldview backfire on him. Despite his prodiguous mastery of taijutsu, Matsuo was held back by his superiors for his absolute lack of chakra control or ninjutsu ability, but Matsuo was not going to let his father's naive thinking or the Academy's petty requirements hold him back. For several months, Matsuo trained nothing but his chakra, neglecting the taijutsu he had trained for so long to hone into an art form. There was nothing Matsuo was, if not diligent. Only after being tutored by one of the academy's instructors did he finally find himself capable of even the simplest manipulation of his chakra, and was deemed worthy to wear the forehead protector that designated him as one of the Leaf's Shinobi.
That was only a wek ago, and now, Matsuo has finally been placed in a Genin Squad of his own, and is set to meet his teammates for the first time, regardless of the upcoming Chunin Exams.

Specialized Weapons & ItemsSpecial Traits
- Matsuo has dedicated his entire training regiment towards his taijutsu, and as can be expected from this, he almost entirely outclasses his fellow Genin in pure, unadulterated strength, speed, and reflexes.
- The Bushou clan's bodies retain naturally denser muscle tissue and thick fibers, allowing them to withstand a fairly high amount of punishment before their ligaments or bones were to break or tear. This gift of genetics is partially due to their generations long history of being the world's finest taijutsu specialists.
- Despite training for a number of months in order to properly graduate from the Leaf Village's Academy, Matsuo retains almost no aptitude for chakra control.
Kekkei Genkai: Rejuvenating RestThe Bushou Clan's Kekkei Genkai wouldn't be considered "useful" by the more combat oriented clans of the Shinobi World, but to the wiser, more strategically minded of the ninja militaries, the Rejuvenating Rest cannot be underestimated.
A Bushou's body naturally has a higher pain tolerance and more durable muscle tissue and fiber than your average shinobi, but in the case that these extra strong ligaments are torn or broken, a Bushou's natural response would be to "sleep it off". Literally. When asleep, a Bushou's body subconsciously uses chakra to heal almost every wound suffered during a battle, whether it be simple cuts from a kunai or a shattered ankle. The same can not be said about total limb separation or a significant amount of damage to one's chakra pathway system, as a Bushou can not simply regenerate limbs like certain reptiles. This gift is not without its drawback, as the more pain a Bushou feels, the more drowsy and tired the combatant becomes, to the point where they will simply black out entirely, and be entirely helpless to anything less than a dead opponent.
The amount of time required for the body to heal itself is determinant to the amount of damage received, whether it be a simple night's sleep for broken ankles, to a week-long coma suffered after Matsuo shattered every bone in his right leg.
Significantly skilled Bushou have shown the ability to fight off the drowsiness brought on by their kekkei genkai through sheer willpower.
