Xavier did as his companion said quietly putting on his armor and wit his eyes still on the Marcus,After he did this he moved away form Madawc nodding his head letting out a soft moan as if he was apologizing for not speaking to the high councilor right away.

"It is quite fine,Well what this job entails is that i need you two to kill a foul beast that has killed many of my men and have stolen Meche women for what reason i fear to tell..." The high councilor said looking down at his mug of wine drinking the last of the contents inside."I will show where these vile creature lives so you can cut off their heads..." The councilor said looking at the two of them with anger and hatred in his eyes.

With his armor back on his body Madawc felt a bit more secure. Not that he really expected something bad to happen, but butter safe than sorry. He didn't sit down as he just wasn't in the mood for it right now. He wanted to be ready.

When Marcus had finished presenting the mission, Madawc was a bit perplexed. "Hold on, wait a minute.... You said this beast has already killed many of your men and you are expecting us two to kill it ? What else do you know about the creature except for its dwelling place ? And... sorry that I ask, but why have you selected us ?" The demon-man didn't point it out directly, but there was one thing that really kept his mind busy: He was a total newcomer in this town and yet, after not even a few hours, he was selected for such a mission by someone he didn't know.

"I apologize...but i have heard of a strong Bravado warrior...and i know that if you helped me with this task then the king will recognize this as a act and will strengthen the bond between Bravado and Meche" Marcus said looking over towards Xavier."And i have heard that a man demon has killed many and i can pay you with enough gold to help you in your..life" He added now looking over towards Madawc.

The mute man nodded thinking that he would be glad to do this to help their countries relationships.

Now Madawc got significantly more aggressive, but it was rather uninteded. Just learning that there already was a second person that just knew apparently everything about him was kinda frustrating. "How the hell do you know ?" he asked straightforwardly, approaching Marcus by a few steps.

"Hm..uh..i found out form the the tales you have not made your presence that secret.." Marcus said now backing into his seat form Madawc stepping towards him. Xavier moaned softly rubbing the demon man's arm like he was trying to clam him down and telling him not to be anger with the high councilor.

Madawc gnarled a bit, but calmed down when he felt what Xavier was attempting. There was indeed no point in starting an argument here. It did just really piss him off that this vital information was spreading so fast...

A few seconds later, having taken a deep breath and not said a word, the demon-man continued to talk in a much calmer tone again: "So... are there any other hints you can give is about the creature ? Perhaps something like how to fight it the most effectively ? Any weaknesses ? And how far away is it ?" He also was interested in the payment, but first he wanted to get an idea how the job could actually be done.

"Well the last location of where the monster could be is in a the old coal mine northwest of here,Well when my solider was fighting the creature found that fire is something that monster is scared of..." Marcus said looking at his plate before looking up at the two men in front of him.

"The cavern is a 427 paces form this castle,And i don't know how much my men have injured it but it might have recovered" Marcus said looking over at the two.

"427 paces ? So we're basically almost there." He glanced at Xavier, asking: "So should we just go there right now ?" The prospect of that creature being vulnerable to fire did cast a slight grin on his face. That was something he could serve with...

Xavier nodded his head thinking that they should get rid of this creature as soon as they can,Marcus thanked them and telling them that they could be given enough supplies to kill the beast.

Madawc nodded towards Xavier, indicating that he wanted to head out immediately. He felt that it was unnecessary to waste any more time and that he was prepared. "Let's pick up the supplies then and go." The bulky and pudgy demon-man turned around and accelerated. He pushed the door open and held it there to allow Xavier to go through first.

Xavier slowly walked out first waiting for Madawc to caught up with him,He didn't have much to buy for supplies expect maybe a some food and rope or tools for the journey.Perhaps he would get some wood, rags and some flint to make fire to fight the creature.

The journey to the beast's cavern was uneventful. Something that probably had something to do with the fact that it was a distance of no more than about 400 paces. The cavern itself was quite impressive. There was no light except for the torches, but one could just feel that the floor was almost flat and slippery. There was a huge amount of rather thin stalactites growing from the ceiling, but only a few, but way thicker stalagmites rising from the ground. It was a kinda odd thing. They were standing in a large hall of some sort, wide and very high, at least for a cavern.

Madawc drew his hammer. They now were pretty much inside the beast's lair. The question was... "Who goes first and who goes behind ?"

Xavier nodded and was now walking in front of Madawc taking the lead and wanted his companion to take the rear.Walking down the damp cavern pulling out his massive sword that was much bigger then his whole body.He could hear the water drops into a puddle that echoed though out the cave.

He could also smell something gross something that made him cover his nose slightly with his hand.He couldn't wait to kill this beast and be done with this horrid place.

Madawc started to smell the smell, too. "I assume it's the remains of the beast's victims. Let's just hope we won't be added to the heap." He wasn't afraid. Demons just did't tend to be. However he was clever enough to beware of underestimating what could be in here.

He didn't stop looking around, especially behind him, while he continued going deeper and deeper into the cave, holding his two handed hammer ready in his hands. The sword Xavier was using was somewhat enormous, at least for a lightweight person like he was. After two or three minutes of continued intrusion, he could hear something. Something nasty. "Xavier ? Stop. I think it's coming."

Xavier stopped for a moment to listen to what was going on and could hear a loud stopping sound coming their way,He was frozen for a moment listening to the noise.

The noise soon became louder then before they knew it they could see a large looking beasts standing in front of them,In it's hand was a frightening sight that made Xavier want to vomit.A woman by what Xavier could see who looked pregnant most likely form the creature putting that monstrous child in her.

Well else he could see is the ugly progeny of their relationship coming towards them with makeshift clubs and spears.

Madawc let out a curse. He had not expected that. They were outnumbered here, so a difference in quality had to do it. He hoped that this difference actually existed, not knowing if Xavier was actually good as a fighter or if he was just good at looking impressive.

He didn't give any commands - it was pretty clear that they both had to care about the small stuff so to speak first. The first 'child' found its end with the cavern's floor rumbling and spitting small fragments of stone when the man's hammer impacted it. Madawc was one hell of a strong person, but would he be able to keep that up long enough ?

Xavier soon joined the battle cutting down the attacking monstrous children if he could even call them children,The giant creature now placing the girl on the floor of the cavern.Coming towards the two of them picking up a cave spike that was near him trying to take a swing at Madawc.

Xavier meanwhile was attacking the monsters.

God this was ugly, but nothing he had not been seen before. Battle was always this way, being all of the participants entirely human or not. Madawc evaded the stalactite, but in doing so he hit the cavern floor really hard. With pain to his right shoulder, the demon-man heaved himself up again while the beast was recovering from the momentum it had invested into its thrust. When it returned, seemingly even more enraged than before, he achieved a hit to what appeared to be its chest, but it only sent blood flying and caused a cracking sound. The creature was still very much alive and Madawc was backing off a bit towards Xavier, hoping that he had the other pests under control.

Xavier was cutting down the creatures chopping them in half with his giant sword,Turning his attention to the hulking beast in front of them shaking off the chest wound.Swinging the stalactite once more towards the two of them that hit Xavier on the shoulder sending him flying into the cave wall.

The mute slowly got back up moving pasted the children creatures and towards his sword which was a few feet away form him,Rolling to his sword grabbing it and cutting a few children in half.

Madawc could see Xavier being thrown around like a big toy. Not exactly reassuring - at least he seemed to be not only alive, but still combat-ready. As the mute was dealing with the children, it appeared to be his turn to take care of the big beast itself. Surprisingly, he didn't start another attempt with his hammer. Instead, he just stood there, nailing the beast with his eyes, and suddenly there was some sort of wave detaching from his body and rapidly moving towards the creature. It wasn't fire, but it felt almost as hot.

This did have a very noticeable effect. The beast backed off and even seemed attempting to protect its eyes with its... whatever one would call this, screaming. Madawc was sweating now. That thing he just had done did take its toll and he really hoped that he would not have to repeat it several times. He charged at it, hoping to make a crushing blow while the enemy was still recovering.
