Funny story, I went to my girl's house tonight for dinner and Pitch Perfect was playing on TV. I'd seen it before when it first came out, but I forget most of the stuff that goes on in nearly every movie. Anyway, the scene with college DJ comes on and I'm like, holy shit it's Nate!

Hey quick question.
Well, two or three, actually.
- Is it possible to just have a constant cost instead of a cost that only triggers when the power is used?
- Is it okay to have a constant power, or rather a constant application of it, in return for a constant cost?

Like... Could a character constantly generate an electrical field but always have the muscles in their arm tear at the slightest pressure, for example.

Are you referring to a power that has sustainability?

I will still defer to @AcerRo for the final say, but here's a couple of things to keep in mind:

- Ultimately the power can be anything as long as the cost is high enough that your character can't abuse it.

- On the other hand, is the cost going to be so high that it will debilitate the character to the point that they are rendered useless?

- Also, currently the character's powers are more or less in their infancy with regard to control & strength, so anything you choose you won't have full control over.

- And this is a personal opinion, but try to stay away from any powers that have wide-scale destructive capabilities (i.e. creating earthquakes that could destroy whole city blocks if the character was pissed off). I just feel like that it would take away from the overall theme as I see these powers being used in a personal space.

BTW...I was thinking Eric, since he is reading everyone's minds, grabs pieces of Vin's thoughts on his nightmare issues. So as the story progresses, Eric is really the only other one who knows anything about the content of the nightmares since Vin can't help but think about them.

Anyway, something to think about for your future posts.

Hey, it's not Vin's fault that Eric can't control which thoughts are invading his head. :/

Besides, reading Vin's thoughts is like flipping through late-night adult cable channels with some grind house films thrown in, except without all the imagery of course. So who knows, he might like probing? ;)

Actually, that sounds awesome! Now again he doesn't understand half the thoughts he receives, it's still like a language that he is still learning. Like starting going to Germany where you can only speak English, so you have to guess at everything based of tones, moods, and familiar sounds.

I didn't really plan for how Eric would register images or thoughts like that. I guess that's something to think about, he may just hear reactions from Vin dealing with that, or maybe Eric will start to think something is going on around him!

I've been trying to wait for the Thunder and the new guy but if they don't post by the time I get up tomorrow we're moving on without them.

I'm pretty sure we've lost her but that isn't much of a surprised.

Well hopefully @Thundercrash will chime in soon because she is a significant character in the Harlan story, and there's nothing worse than a good character disappearing with no rhyme or reason.

The other dude, however, hasn't been on in 4 days and he had one post to contribute so I'm not worried about him.

I get that RL sneaks up on us all, but for fuck's sake people need to simply step up and let us know that they're not interested instead of cowering away. But I guess it's easy to do on the internet where there is no real emotional connection or human contact.

And, I'm sorry, but this whole "my internet sucks and is keeping me from letting anyone know anything" is a bunch of bullshit. Unless you live in the poorest regions of a 3rd world country, you can find a way to communicate, even if it's a quick note letting people know you just can't post anymore.
