Jett smiled gratefully and began to follow her. He was speechless for a moment when she mentioned Sacha. "I... well, yeah. I knew her pretty well a long time ago." He was quiet for a moment, but couldn't resist adding, "How is she?"
Brick awoke some time after the others. He was out for a bit longer than usual, and he realized that something in his mouth. It was delicious, he thought to himself... Until he realized it was a leaf. He had been munching on the tree in his sleep. Must be the ape in him.
He quickly swallowed the leaf and removed his jury-rigged poke-alarm, and hopped out of the tree to saunter over to the medical tent, where Destin seemed to still be hanging out. The slash across his chest had clotted completely, but he wasn't exactly satisfied with it. He faux-leaned against a tent post, knocked, and greeted the boy.
"G'morning. Doing better today?"
He'd have to get some lessons on cleaning wounds. He got the feeling he'd be having to heal himself up an awful lot in the future.
@Fionraella
"Hey, you're not too far behind me, then. So far the only Rabins I've really spoken to are Kianna and Aya. I'd say that puts me at about 50/50 between Rabins and Broms as of today."
Brick was smiling. The kid had obviously survived intact. At least, mostly intact.
"How's your head? Feeling foggy at all, forgetting anything, etcetera...?"
@Fionraella
"I'm Brick. As for Sacha... I HAVE spoken to her a couple times, but I haven't really gotten to know her all that well yet. In all honesty, I've heard about as many words out of Fabine's mouth as I have Sacha's, thanks to the customary welcoming committee. Got too caught up escorting Aya out to forage for herbs to ask her much."
Brick tapped his foot in thought and looked to the sky. He'd be going back out soon, and there were more plants than a single person could realistically kill like this anyway, short of burning down the Rabin side of the woods.
"...I've got an idea. You help me learn to clean wounds, I'll let you take the stash that I collected."
@Fionraella
"Aya gave me the basic rundown on what does what around here. Lavender, echinacea, elderberry, and peppermint. I had been hoping to have her teach me how to use some of it, but more important matters came up."
He stroked his beard in thought.
"Honestly, I have only the vaguest idea of how to use any of it. I remember seeing 'lavender oil' as a topical anesthetic in the 'alternative medicine' aisle of a grocery store at some point, but if I tried to extract that or anything on my own, I'd probably burn down the camp - and if I tried to use it without doing anything special, it'd probably just amount to me rubbing leaves on peoples' cuts."
He looked at Destin, examining him for any signs of excessive fatigue and such. Brick's mind wandered a little bit, and he remembered Destin mentioned a headache. He'd have to check that out.
@Fionraella
"Not too worried about the berries. Ever since I went ape on Misha yesterday, I've been craving nothing but salad, leaves, and bamboo. Oh, and... Before we do anything else, come on outside to the campfire with me for a bit, eh? You're out of the woods, but I'd like to make sure there's nothing that'll cause long term problems for you."
Brick turned to walk over to one of the higher makeshift seats and motioned for Destin to join him.
@Fionraella
Brick noticed Destin's apparent mild indignation, and gave zero shits at all. He leaned down and tilted Destin's head upwards towards the sky as he examined the kid's eyes. He moved his hand to block the light coming down on Destin's face, then moved his hand back away.
"...Normal eye dilation. Good."
A single sharp tap just under the kneecap followed. Nothing wrong there, either.
"And your reflexes are normal too. Also good. No immediately noticeable damage to the sympathetic nervous system. Now, if you could do a few jumping jacks for me and tell me if the headache comes back or worsens, that'd be great. Just trying to get a feel for whether that headache you mentioned was from exhaustion or from something you'd need to get to a real clinic for."
Brick sat down on the bench and eyed Destin. "Pardon my caution. I saw plenty of injuries back when I was in the SCA. Beating eachother with vaguely weapon-shaped sticks'll do a body plenty of harm, even if you're wearing heavy armor. While I might not know anything of healing yet, I do know what brain damage looks like, and I'd say that about a third of the people who get concussed or overheated didn't want to get checked out and passed out on their way back to their tent. Some of those morons were even doctors."
@Jaywing93 She is XD
"So you decided to come back to the Rabins?" A voice says behind Jett. Sacha glares at his back, her arms across her chest. How dare he come back. After everything that had happened...he still came back. Why... "What do you want Jett?" She asks, trying to keep her voice cold as ice. She couldn't stop the small pang of regret creeping into her heart. It wasn't all his fault, but in a way it was. He was there. And then he wasn't. So much time had passed, she never really thought about him much anymore. She had finally been happy. But now, there he stood, almost mockingly. Almost saying "Here I am, look at me. And you can't do a damn thing about it."
Sacha took a step forward. "What do you want?" She asks again.

Jett froze at the sound of her voice. He looked over his shoulder and met her gaze hesitantly. He took a deep breath and turned to face her, slowly walking towards her. "It's been a long time, Sacha..." he said softly, avoiding her question. He couldn't help but notice the ferocity with which she was observing him, but it couldn't stop him from staring. He was overwhelmed with a multitude of emotions: fear, guilt, anger, and others that he couldn't quite identify.
