Brick nodded in agreement with Destin's appraisal of the morons who hadn't sought treatment, though he knew it wasn't completely that simple. "No shame in getting things checked out. But not everyone realizes something's wrong in the first place. I found out that out the fun way, myself. Took a really hard hit to the back from a polearm one day, didn't even feel it. Walked back to my camp after the fighter practice was over, went to bed. Woke up in the morning to find a waffle-shaped blood stain on the sheets from where the chainmail cut me to ribbons - through my tunic, at that. Was lucky it wasn't something worse."

He tapped his foot and shifted in his seat a bit.

"Anyway, let's get back to the medicine tent. You need herbs, and I'd like to learn to keep these idiots alive a bit longer."

Destin shrugs. "People should see doctors when they get hurt no matter how minor. Or at least a group healer." He then chuckles slightly and nods. "Sounds like a plan." He hops to his feet and stretches his arms over his head, before heading back to Aya's tent. "How about you present me with a few medical problems and I show you what you would use in each case? I think that would be the best way to learn, rather than me just listening off a bunch of stuff and expecting you to memorize it." He then tilts his head. "I'm hoping you know how to stitch and gauze a wound, right?"

Sacha scoffs, glaring at him coldly. She uncrosses her arms, setting them to her sides, her hands in fists. "I asked you a question Jett." She almost snarls, meeting his gaze. "Whether or not it's been a long time doesn't matter. I want to know why you are here. Why you're prancing back in here like you own the place." She takes a step towards him, wanting oh so badly to punch him in the face. She then notices Destin and Brick and scowls. No, she couldn't make Destin watch that. She looks back at Jett and scowls. "My tent. Now. She snaps, before turning on her heel and going into her tent. "And Kianna, I would have hoped that you would know better than to allow strays in our camp!" She disappears between the tent flaps.

Jett stayed silent while she snarled at him, and he narrowed his eyes defensively. The fire in her eyes would have frightened anyone else that didn't know her so well. Once she finishes, he sighs contemptuously and lingers in the clearing for a moment before walking after her. He glances apologetically at Kianna, and murmurs, "I'm sorry about that, thank you for taking me here." He ducks into Sacha's tent and stays standing, slowly glancing around at the familiar decor. He approaches a homemade dream catcher that he'd always enjoyed and began toying with it gently between his fingers. Without looking at her, he says slowly and coldly, "Your hatred is sorely uncalled for, Sacha. And here I'd thought you'd welcome me in with open arms," he added snidely.

Sacha was standing next to her cot. Her bow at her feet. Aside from the dream catcher, not much else was there from when he had been. The cot and night stand were the same, but she had gotten rid of almost everything from the old days.
She laughs sharply. "Uncalled for? If anything is uncalled for, it's your presence here. You left Jett, you left, and I didn't make that decision for you. You decided. You, but you act like I'm some sort of bad guy!" She takes a step forward then back, contemplating her next action. "I do hate you Jett, but I bet you don't even know why." She hisses angrily.

Jett's eyes widened in astonishment. He glanced around wildly for a few seconds, unable to find the words he was looking for. Jett took a deep breath before meeting her gaze and growling, "I left? Well, hell, yeah, I left! But it wasn't entirely my decision, Sacha. It's hard to stay when someone is fighting so hard to push you out," he said pointedly. He cringed when she hissed at him but tried not to show it's affect on him, but he did lose some of the fire in his anger. "You're right. I don't know why. I never knew why," he replied dejectedly, trailing off.

"I never tried to push you out!" Sacha throws her arms up in the air. "You left! I didn't tell you to, I didn't ask you to! You did it all on your own!" She turns to face the corner of her tent, glaring at it. Tears were forming in her eyes, but she wasn't going to let him see. She coughs and kicks the edge of her cot, rocking it. "You hurt me Jett. That's why I hate you. And the fact that you just...You just never cared! That pisses me off more than you know!" She turns back to him, glaring at him. "Why. Are. You. Here?"

Jett opened his mouth helplessly, trying to interject, but never finding an opportunity. He felt guilt wash over him when he heard her voice catch, but he knew what happened between them wasn't as simple as that. He opened his mouth to argue further, but slowly closed it without uttering a word. He took a breath and began again. "Sacha... after I left the Rabins, I traveled around a bit, but things haven't worked out and I haven't had a place to stay for almost a month. I'm just asking you for two weeks... please. If you still want me out after that, I'll go, but I just need this," he said, still refusing to meet her gaze. He absolutely hated having to grovel to her like this, but he knew how desperate he was.

Sacha listens to him silently, glaring at him the entire time. This was so like Jett! Always trying to make her out to be the bad guy. "Two weeks." She finally says with a firm nod. "That's it. You have two weeks to get your shit together and get out before my hand is forced." She watches him a moment. "You don't have a say here. You are not a Rabin. If anyone asks for your help, you tell them by my orders, you are confined to camp. You do not get to leave. You do not get to hunt. And most of all, you are not allowed to converse with anyone here. Am I understood?"

Jett slowly turned and met her gaze coldly. "Understood." He thought about her terms in his head and almost let out a laugh. I suppose I'm getting special treatment here, he thought. Jett turned and was about to exit, when he stopped. Without turning, he said quietly, "Sacha... I'm sorry." There was a long silence that stretched between them. He stayed frozen with his back to her. "I didn't know everything would work out this way."

"Never stitched anything but leather, I'm afraid. I've watched people do it a few times, but for the most part, the injuries I've seen have all been blunt force trauma. Still, I can't possibly do anything worse than what they did back in the old days - lavender beats goat dung any day. In any case - I do have something in mind. Lacerations seem like they'd be really common out here, be they from knives or arrowheads."

Brick tapped his foot and waited a moment before speaking. He wasn't entirely comfortable with doing this, since Misha was Destin's friend, but he didn't want to be seen as a hypocrite. "I happen to have a prime example of one that I need to treat. It was late enough that any clinics that'd take my health insurance weren't open, and both you and Aya were out of commission. Got it while I was... erm... Calming Misha down. By force."

He shook his head in annoyance as he said the last bit. He really hated having to hurt people, no matter how much he loved fighting.

"No arteries, veins, or nerves damaged. Mostly muscle tissue and skin. Low chance of infection, since both me and my clothes were clean, and I'm up to date on every sort of shot and booster I would need. I'd like to treat this one myself, with your instruction. If I screw it up, I'm going to the town up north for professional treatment."

With that, he removed his shirt to reveal an eight-inch-long gash across his chest. It had already totally clotted, but he needed to ensure that it would heal properly.

Sacha scoffs at his apology. "I don't think you are sorry Jett." She says calmly, walking towards him. "You never should have come to the forest to begin with." She snaps coldly, though not meaning that. As much as she claimed to hate him...she never could. But no one could ever know that. Her eyes well up with tears as she thinks about what had happened between them. She shakes her head, no none of that mattered anymore. "I'll need you to hand over any weapons before you leave."

Destin nods. "Stitching's a good skill to have. But I think Aya's better at it than I am." Destin nods. "Cuts, bruises, stab wounds, you name it, someone's gotten it before." He then blinks slightly as Brick takes off his shirt before inspecting the gash. "It looks like it's healing properly so far. Doesn't look like it'll need stitches, but you will need to let it breathe, so no bandages for now..." He steps back. "We can get some herbs to make a poultice that should keep out infection if you'd like. But it'll smell bad." Destin grins. "I don't think it's fully necessary, but it would be for learning purposes." He rocks back on his feels, thinking. "Hmm..we could add some lavender to make it smell a little nicer. Maybe some rosemary.." He thinks aloud.

Jett felt frustration welling up inside of him at her stubbornness. He ignored her initial comment, and then he reached into his pocket and located him switchblade. He turned and looked down into her icy eyes and placed the switchblade in her open hand without looking at it. "Be careful with it," he said with hostility. He paused for a moment, and then continued as he left it in her hand and pulled his own hand away. His pale blue eyes were deep with thought. "It's been through a lot, and honestly, I've treated it pretty terribly. I broke it a few times, and even lost it altogether once, but it still means a lot to me." Suddenly, he snapped back and his eyes hardened over. He took a step back from her and nodded once more, agreeing to her demands.

"Don't really care about the smell. It's a good chance to learn relatively safely, and if anyone complains about it, that's too bad. If I don't need to close this thing up, then that just means that I can learn to keep it clean myself."

Brick rapped his fingers on his head in thought. He picked up a mortar and pestle from the pile of supplies, and grabbed a small container of water to add to the mixture.

"Could try doing a little bit of everything. There's more than enough space on this cut to get a good sampling of what a few different combinations feel like and what they do, and I'm not exactly in any danger either way."

"If any of my Rabins come to me, and tell me that you've made them uncomfortable or unsafe, I'm going to ask you to leave." She turns away. "I wish you had just stayed missing Jett." she says, closing her eyes for a moment. When she opens them, she whirls around, punching him in the face. Hard. She steps back at the pain in her hand, though it did make her feel better. She waves it around a bit. "That's for everything you did."

Destin nods. "That's very true. We also could rule out any adverse reactions you may have. If you're allergic, or if something just doesn't work quite right on your wounds." He begins gathering small amounts of various herbs, smelling each leaf to make sure he gets the right ones. "We'll look at infection fighting combinations, painreducers, and other such poultices. Sound good?" He asks, setting the herbs on Aya's desk.

Jett was caught entirely by surprise, and was thrown back by the sudden attack. He held one hand to his face and felt his head spinning uncontrollably. After a few seconds, he managed to straighten up and chuckle, "Always quite the charmer, Sacha." He felt a drop of blood trickling out of his nose onto his hand, but covered it, determined to not let her see. "Don't worry, I get the message. I'll stay out of your way," he mutters, casting her one last cold glance before turning and pushing through the flaps of her tent.

Sacha glares after him. "Dammit that was stupid!" She hisses, her hand throbbing. She grumbles and pulls his switchblade out of her pocket, holding it up to admire it. She sighs and walks over to her dresser and set it in the bottom drawer. She covers it with a shirt and closes it again before going to sit on her cot. She leans back against the tent side, closing her eyes. Why did he have to come back? Especially now! Things are going so well... She sighs heavily, a tear rolling down her cheek. I assumed he was dead after all this time. And now, he's back and can't assume that anymore. What am I supposed to do!

"Sorta like one of those allergy dot tests - just a lot deeper, if you'll pardon the expression. That'd be perfect. And if there is an allergic reaction, I can just clean it out with water."

Brick looked over the herbs that Destin was gathering, recognizing a few of them, but not all of them. He pointed out the three unknown ones to Destin. "Haven't learned about those yet."

Destin holds up a small clump of white lichen-looking stuff. "This is usnea. It's a lichen that is anti fungal and anti viral. It's not a great herb to use, but I like it because it gives poultices more rigidity and they tend not to run as much." He holds up a small purple flower. "This is bee balm, it makes great tea, but you can also put it into poultices to help with infections. I find it goes well with the usnea, but only in certain seasons when they're just starting to flower." He holds up the next one, a root. "This is mallow. It's not a great herb for poultices, but there's so much of it around. It's great in teas though."
