@The Harbinger of Ferocity Well, if Rin was looking to drop out we could be starting quite soon. I've got the Saturday full of everything else, so probably not before Sunday so we can settle on the matters currently being discussed.

Right, having read through all the answers I got regarding the time-limit thing when it came to posting before I need to move the thing forward myself I have come to the following conclusion: I propose three days (that is, 72 hours since last post was submitted) of time to send in a reply, with a 4th one (up to 96) thrown in during out of combat situations. I don't really expect long posts as this is merely on casual level and the way how D&D works does not exactly call for large posts anyway. If you have anything against this proposition, speak up! It's but an idea.

Also, some information about the game itself. The story will begin in the town of Greenest, south-east of Baldur's Gate in the southern end of the Sword Coast. It is mostly surrounded by plains, but there are some forests nearby as well. You people need to figure out a reason for your characters to be around there... one of the suggestions I have is to be a caravan guard/passenger in one of the caravans that happened to be heading there. If you want some of your characters to know each other beforehand, that is fine too! Feel free to think this through, I'll see if we are ready to begin on Sunday.

So long those who still do not post within that time frame are kept moving by the Dungeon Master and the plot does not grind to a staggering halt, I do not see too much potential issue. I would always rather at least a post a day in the topic, regardless of who it is.

It looks like people have not had the time to think about the things I asked for, at least judging by the amount of replies I've received thus far. Means we are not kicking the In Character part off yet I guess. I'll be here, checking on updates whenever I find the time for it!

This is in some ways fortunate for me, but I do hope this roleplay begins soon enough. I have not found or had a decent forum based Dungeons and Dragons game to date as it is.

I'm... I mean I'll be honest and say I just don't think I have enough experience to form an opinion in terms of D&D I guess. ^^;

I personally think a week for out-of-co vat is more preferable to me, but I suppose I can do 4 days if we have to. I'm also open for anyone wanting Orchid to tag along with them, though I would like to point out that he often doesn't wear any clothing aside from boots underneath his poncho. You have been warned.

Mine is simple, I'm a traveler and I'm going with you guys since its better than to travel alone. Y'know, bandits n' stuff.

I have started the game from the caravan's point of view. Your characters may be a part of it or not, but I'd recommend approaching the ring of wagons to start with to not split the party before we even get this thing off the ground.

Because of the remoteness of my location and limited access to the Internet until tomorrow, I will need wait to post until then. I will make my own way into the caravan and or catching up to the party if things advance that rapidly all of a sudden.

It's a slow start, but I like what I've seen thus far. By the way, should we look for one more member that I can add in at a fitting point (one is coming soon-ish) or are we happy with four? I'm happy with four, but if you guys would like a dedicated magic user without multiclassing...

Just post what your character may have been doing on the caravan. Maybe she was carving a stick, or braiding her hair, when the boss man stops the wagon and gives the word. Have your character interact or at least observe the other plays. Two, three paragraphs ought to be good enough. 10 sentences at least, nya?

@VitaVitaAR Yes, Lucius has an idea. You may PM me and we can throw ideas at each other if you are just unsure of what is good, but there is probably nothing to worry about. If it seems to make any sense at all, it probably is a fine entry.

Hey people, I just remembered something I needed to ask!

So, we can either do this the traditional D&D way of getting experience from encounters and such, or we can go with the milestone rule in which you will go up a level once you have reached important story milestones. I can go with either and to be honest I like the traditional way, even if it sometimes devolves into murderhoboism. I trust you people not to do that though.

Then I could mention my current plan on level ups. Once the needed amount of experience is reached, you will gain everything your new level brings during your next short or long rest. So you'll have any new spell slots available, your spellbooks spontaneously have spells appear and your current and maximum hitpoints go up by whatever amount your hit die average is. I believe nobody has objections?

I kinda like the idea of "story milestones" and such. Like one "levels up" when they do stuff in the Rp that would seem sensibly interesting enough to have been quite an experience.

Orchid hunting animals is just business as usual for him, even if he has killed a small village worth of bears. But him taking on a powerful forest druid who has taken offense at his bear - centric genocide and conquering the hard ships, now that would be worth EXP and possibly a life changing ability earned (like a feat).
