"All men...are NOT created equal."

Beginning with the birth of a luminescent baby in China, more and more "Quirks," or superpowers, began to appear among humanity. Today's society is composed of superhumans, with 80% of the world's population possessing some form of supernatural ability. The paranormal has become the normal. In the wake of chaos brought about by those who would misuse their powers for evil, a new profession arose--while the justice system struggled to adapt the laws around the presence of quirks, those with courageous hearts rose up, and leaped into action! Soon, all the world recognized them, and gave them the only suitable name...HEROES!

Brave City's sprawling metropolis is well known for its super-modern skyline, with miniature sky cities dominating the smaller skyscrapers and other buildings; winding roads and overpasses criss-cross through these towers of glass and steel. Though a young city compared to its fellows, this place is a beacon of the potential Quirks have brought to the human race. Hyper-intelligence Quirks and Creation or Invention-type Quirks are responsible for its futuristic structure and many of the all new, experimental architectural and technological designs going on their first test runs throughout the city. Super strength or such things as levitation are used to complete construction projects in record time. And even the task of law enforcement is supplemented by those superhumans among superhumans: Heroes!

But Heroes are not born, they are made. And where are they made? Brave High, that monstrous tower smack dab in the center of the inter-city! With its gigantic walls of reinforced steel, state-of-the-art scanners, and even new experimental tech that not even their rivals have access to, it's the only Hero school in the country that could be said to rival that bastion of justice, U.A.!

And today, of all days, is the beginning of a new year for the bright students of Brave High. Welcome, students, and future heroes, to...

YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!

Tatsumi gulped as he looked up, and up, and up, at all 450 meters of Brave High's campus. Rather than being spread out along the ground, like a normal school campus, the building held to the same efficiency standards of the rest of the city and tried to cram as much into a single space as it possibly could. A central building, like a giant baseball diamond, sprouted four enormous towers that stretched up into the clouds. Super magnetized elevators could be seen zooming up and down through reinforced glass tubes along the sides of each tower, and there were even moving walkways between the longer stretches of campus. Bright red stripes cut through the dark grey, reinforced walls of concrete and steel and the dark tinged glass that made up the rest of the building. Red, just like the uniform blazer he now wore over a white dress shirt and black slacks. Red, the color of courage, just like the school's namesake and motto.

"Courageous Heroes are the strongest." Tatsumi said to himself as he looked down at the acceptance letter in his hand. He scratched the back of his head through the white knit hat and the messy, dyed blonde hair underneath. He sighed, and tucked the letter into the pocket of his blazer. Could someone like him really make it here? He'd be starting as a freshman, despite his age--Brave High used a westernized four-year system instead of the usual three--because he'd already had to repeat a year once. But maybe that was good. Maybe it was good to have a completely fresh start. He looked down at his clenched fist, and forced himself to relax. Yeah, he would do it! He'd become a Hero! And he'd rise above what everyone else had said, what his whole life had been up until now!

Noticing the crowd growing thinner around him as everyone headed for the auditorium, and the entrance ceremony, Tatsumi took off at a jog to try and catch up.

Tonaka Hokama

Tonaka slowly walks up the steps of Brave High with an indifferent look on his face. Today marks yet another beginning of School... Hero School that is. He is currently a junior here, so he knows pretty much on where to go, even after being away for several months on Summer Break. He had to admit though, that his Summer was rather boring, sometimes actually depressing. He didn't go to too many places this Summer other than say the Mountains and the Beach a few times. They were all OK, I mean, nothing special or anything. That, plus still being haunted by his father's murder also made his Break a bit more painful, if not so more dreadful. Perhaps he can make himself busy when back here at the Academy. After all, Tonaka was showing his Light side as being hopeful and optimistic, with his white hair and his regular colored school uniform, as well as his sparkling light-blue eyes twinkling in the bright sunlight. Today he feels like it's going to be a good first day back, maybe hang out with a few school mates of his and so on. And maybe make some new ones as well...

"If my Dark side can just go away for the whole school day..." he thinks to himself casually as he takes a deep breath.

It appears everyone is already heading towards the auditorium for the opening ceremony. Tonaka casual walks around with the crowd as he finds himself inside. He checks a small piece of paper in his pocket, which shows him the seating arrangement for the auditorium. Each seating sector was divided based off one's grade level. Juniors happen to be sitting on the left side of the building. Following the chart, he happens to take a seat around the middle and sits down from the third chair nearest to the wall. He quickly checks his phone and scouts the internet for a minute until closing it and getting himself simply comfortable within his seat.

~Miné Onoda~

This.

Was.

Fucking.

Stupid.

Miné growled as she stared up at the building from the bottom of the steps leading up to the massive building. Brave High. To some, it might look like a shining beacon of hope. Others, a place of learning. To her though? It was an annoyance. Just one in a long line of many things that annoyed her. She glared up at the incredibly tall building, as if she was trying to somehow will the entire building to just crumble and cease its existence. Such a thing though, was quite impossible and she knew it. Still, it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside imagining the entire place just blowing up in glorious, spontaneous combustion. At least then it'd be a bit entertaining. After a few minutes of glaring, she returned her gaze to the ground and the students, most of who were avoiding her, at least a little. Her usual glare tended to do that, though she didn't care one bit.

"I can already tell, I'm going to abso-fucking-lutely love this place." She grumbled to herself, sarcasm would be easily picked up on by anyone who heard. She could almost hear the annoying heroes going about being all 'JUSTICE!' and 'BRAVERY!'.

She gripped the acceptance letter in her hand, crumpling it into a tiny ball. Ugh, she really just wanted to go home or...somewhere quiet, really. Maybe the height of the building would prove a good spot to find quiet? The roof could very well be abandoned...chances were though, it could very well be blocked off to students for some asinine reason. Of course, she could always get her kicks by picking on some poor idiot who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a fairly entertaining pastime, at least. Some idiots just didn't know when they should just walk away, and it was amusing to see them try and fight. While her Quirk wasn't exactly the best at offensive things, well, she considered herself at least somewhat creative.

Meh.

The girl turned her head and looked at some of the other students. Quite a few were younger than her, and looked like they'd be pretty fun to mess with. She had half a mind to do just that. Fortunately for them, since this was the first day of school, she was pretty much required to attend. Even the entrance ceremony. She really didn't want to get chewed out by her parents on the off chance they found out she pretty much skipped the entire thing, or avoided it by getting in trouble by picking a fight with someone.

Well, might as well get there, find the seat closest to the back she could get, and wait for this whole boring, useless get together to be over with. With a quiet grumble, she turned on her heel and headed towards the auditorium. Unfortunately for one poor kid, he just happened to be standing close enough in her path that was perfect for Miné to pick on him, just a little.

"Out of my way, loser." Miné said, almost shoving some younger kid to the ground as she walked past. She didn't even spare whoever she had just shoved a second glance, ignoring any protests or calling out that anyone might have had about it.

She sighed as she walked. She really hoped this was quick...or at least entertaining in some way, but she doubted it would be either.

Namari woke up, her eyes slowly opening as a groan escaped her mouth. The sheets of her bed were slightly coming off the edge of her bed. She grumbled shutting her eyes hard and pulling the sheet around her, completely snapping it off the bed frame and it covered her. A bird chirped quietly to its fellow animals.

“You gosh darned cunt.” Namari said, throwing a pillow at the bird through the open window, her mouth moving autonomously as she tried to force herself back to sleep.

“My goodness Namari, that was just awful.” Her mom said from just outside her now open door. Namari thought about smacking herself in the face but decided that the most positive route from this point forward was to simply get up and over it. Namari was done with her shower after a few minutes and stopped into the kitchen to grab a bagel. Her dad was off at work but her mum was sitting at the table. After spreading a bit of butter on her bagel.

After changing into some of her typical workout gear Namari waved goodbye to her mother on the way out the door. It was her first day at Brave High. She made sure to stop by a local diner and grab a couple slices of toast with Jam. She walked through the streets on her way to school. The girl fished into her back pocket and pulled out the acceptance letter. She examined it with brief pause. She was pretty sure there were some quite strong quirks out there, she was just… Heavy.

Of course heavy legs can mean a lot, but it wasn’t exactly manipulating time and space or some kind of cosmic ability. Not that she had ever met or heard of someone with one such ability. But who knows - with a school meant to teach people how to perfect they’re abilities. She was sure she would meet tons of people with more control and strength than her. That would usually set someone off, get them feeling either pumped up or stressed out, but Namari found herself sort of – okay with it. Typically speaking the strongest had decisions to make, people who would look up to them.

It was comforting being towards the bottom for her. No one would bother her there.

She approached the school hesitantly before striding in. She found herself in a foyer-esque area as she scarfed down the last of her toast and jam, licking her fingers in delight. She unhitched the water bottle from her belt loops and took a swig to wash everything down. She decided to go find a seat in the auditorium before she missed anything.

Upon approaching the auditorium she watched as a girl pushed another student down in order to get past them. Namari looked at the ceiling and cursed herself for what was about to happen as she approached the fallen student and offered them a hand up. Pulling them up with her sturdy balance she gave them a pat on the shoulder and told them to keep their head down on the first day. With a small, but largely apathetic smile she continued to move forward giving an exaggerated solute to the student not waiting for a response.

She took a seat in the left-most section and began to literally twiddle her thumbs, waiting for the show to get on the road. She unhitched her water bottle once more and began to gulp down some more water. She looked around at the people surrounding her. Quite a few seemed to be pretty excited, she wondered why for a moment before reminding herself that – of course for most people this was a goal they had worked towards for large parts of their lives.

Here she was. Riding the coattails of her natural strength. They would mostly come to despise her.

Ayah Cadeyrn

Ayah hummed happily to the tune currently playing in her room. She danced around as she got dressed in her uniform and threw some last minute items in her backpack. It seemed as though nothing could deter her mood. After thoroughly checking to make sure she had everything, the brown haired girl went into the bathroom. She went through her usual routine. Brush her teeth, brush her hair, French braid her long hair to make it manageable. With that out of the way as quickly as possible, she headed towards the kitchen where her mother and father both sat, eating a hearty breakfast. The cheerful girl sat down at her designated spot and began to eat what was set before her. After a moment, her mother spoke up.

“Do you have everything you need?”

"Yes, mother,” Ayah responded respectfully.

“Notebooks, pencils, folders, calculator, and all that?” Her mother asked, her rapt attention focused on her daughter's behavior. Any wrong move, and the hounds would be unleashed.

“Yes, mother,” The teen responded in the exact same way.

“Where are your swords?” Ayah’s father asked, looking up for the first time.

“I already gave all my blades to the academy, they store them with my hero outfit.” Ayah explained as if reciting an answer. Her father simply nodded approvingly. He was an engineer who worked for the company that made the hero suits for students, so he had helped Ayah on her outfit design. Of both her parents, he was more accepting of her choice of occupation. Plus he had helped Ayah design her weapon that she used in combat, when she is unable to use her quirk.

“You should leave soon, it's better to be early than late.” Ayah's mother reminded her. The clock said that she'd have more than plenty of time to reach school, but her mother's voice implied that she should leave immediately.

“Alright, goodbye.” The excited girl could feel the ball of energy in her gut even as she stayed composed on the outside. She exited her home and set a brisk pace to her school. Just fast enough to unravel her nerves and general antsiness, but not too fast as to be exhausted when she arrived.

The school stuck out even among the tall, steel structures that filled the city. It seemed a lot more durable and important than everything around it. Then again, it WAS a high school designed to train heroes. Ayah looked around to see not many people milling about. Of course, she was early, so it was understandable. With plenty of time to spare, the anxious girl took her time finding her spot in the auditorium and fiddling around with her phone. She kept glancing up from her mobile device though, watching people enter the area. It was easy picking out the first years, many looked nervous, or confused, or simply out of place. Ah, she wanted to reassure them, tell them everything would be fine. But she knew that would still freak some of them out, plus she was a bit nervous about going up and confronting them even if they are new. So instead Ayah returned to her phone, feeling a touch guilty for her lack of action.

Training, Sou was out late training. He had spent a couple of hours at the dead of the night. Sounds like snapping fingers could be heard from outside, sounds of explosions then superceding the snaps. If you listened closely enough you could hear the ragged and deep breaths of the person behind the noise. It was a long night, and Sou, as per usual, took a bit of self damage. His adoptive father- the hero who saved him (now retired and old.) chastised him in a worried tone. He was being bandaged up again, the smell of burn ointment ever so subtle present.

"Sou- no, Gekido." the old figure sternly said, "You can't keep hurting yourself like this."

The old hero had a staunch expression, but one would notice it was because of worry. Sou's arm ached every so sligthly for the recoil of his own quirk. He knew that he wouldn't get better like this, and his father figure couldn't teach him because of their very differing quirks. A sigh escaped the old hero's mouth,

".. I've pulled what little strings of connections I have left and got you this." The old figure exclaimed, he pulled out a piece of paper. After a quick read through it was apparently an acceptance letter into some Academy for quirks.

"I'm sure there is someone who can atleast train you there, I'm sorry for being unable to." he continued, a now somber, bitter expression etching across his face.

"No... Thank you." Sou said lightly, "I'll be sure to use this to its fullest."

The old man now flashed him his familiar smile and tousled Sou's messy hair and got up,

"Well early day tomorrow, sleep up!"

It was the next day, Sou was bandaged to the bone. He would stand out, but Sou didn't really care nor mind. He simply shook off the stares and glanced thrown his way as he slowly made his way to the auditorium for the initial meeting. He didn't like crowds though, so he tried to be as far of the pack as possible as the students were all congregating there like pidgeons in a park.

Another student, who appears to be a first year, shoved another student down. Sou just furrowed his brow, mostly in distate, he quickly looked away from the girl and looked back at the kid who was now being helped up by another student. Sou now snapped his gaze away and walked into the auditorium, he understood their excitement but he'll be damned if he wasn't irked by the general noisiness.

He found himself near the left side of the seats of auditorium. Majority were quickly being occupied, except some of the inner seats. He spotted an open one next to the girl with the white hair whom had helped out the student that was pushed down by the rather unsavory student.

Walking slowly and trying to enter from the left side, he noticed that her legs were blocking the path towards the free seat,

"Excuse me." Sou said, his deadpan eyes locking with hers, his bandaging draping over his head, "Would you please move your legs aside for a second?"

"Oh, oh, oh OH OH OH!"

Gasping in fear, a red bolt careened towards the school's gates. Despite her cries getting some looks, there wasn't a lot of fuss, as she was slowing rapidly, stopping just a few feet away from a group of bigger seniors. The pink haired girl in her uniform earned a few mildly annoyed glaces, but she was too relieved to seem notice.

Taking a breath, she looked up at the school, before wincing, clutching at her stomach. "Ah! Cramps!" Matsuri whined/ Despite her discomfort though, she didn't shift to a bad mood: she went all out for the first day in both eating, cooking, and running there, but she probably shouldn't have tried to do all of that on the same day. But then they put the really good shows on TV before school and then they make it so you can't see the ending before you have to go to school and Matsuri didn't want to miss it this time! All in all this was a pretty good day so far.

Looking up at the school building, she couldn't help but feel it was going to get better. Stars glistened in her eyes as she bent backwards trying to see the top from so close to the bottom. So cool.

Arms at her side like a happy plane, Matsuri buzzed her way into the auditorium, packed with chai-where was she supposed to sit no one told her. Hmm, that corner seemed to have a lot of youngin's. Matsuri was a youngin'! Now all she had to do was look like she needed help, plopping a hand on her chin, watching the other first years as if it would divine her answer, despite her acceptance letter poking out of her jacket pocket. Big brother Mitsuo was so thoughtful...shame Matsuri had yet to realize this.

~???~

Ahaha, now this was a grand day indeed! A start of a new school year, which meant new opportunities, meeting new people, getting to know them on a personal level, and causing a bit of fun mischief! So fun indeed, almost so much fun she couldn't contain her excitement! There was a certain bit of risk involved with what she was going to do, of course, but no risk no rewards, as her dear old father - rest his soul - used to say. What was the risk? Well, getting arrested by some heroes, and have her whole identity revealed! Not that it was a huge risk. So they could get her face on camera, or a mugshot, or whatever it is they did when they arrested so called villains. Certainly it'd be an inconvenience, but she sort of wanted a completely awesome mugshot to put on her resume.

She hummed a quiet, but upbeat and oddly happy tune to herself as she washed the red off of her hands. Her game had gotten a tad bit messy unfortunately, so she had to clean up a bit. To bad her playmate was gone, she was having so much fun with her too. Little red had been such a great little trooper, too. She put up an admirable fight, and even managed to chip one of her weapons! With such a useless Qurik, too!~ She had a fairly good head on her shoulders, at least. She slightly regretted killing such a bright young student, even. If she could have converted her into...a cute little plaything, well, she would have made for a great little pawn.

Ah, too bad these little hero students are always so...heroic.

It made her want to vomit.

With her hands clean, she turned off the faucet and turned towards the mirror, putting on her gloves once again. The dimly lit room was barely bright enough for one to see well in, but she was perfectly fine. She reached for a pile of clothes - a recent acquisition from her playmate. A red jacket over a white shirt, with black slacks. Rather mundane and a bit...inelegant, but she couldn't deny there was just something about a good looking uniform that just made one look so adorable. Next, she looked at the mirror...and lopped off at least half of her hair, letting it now fall to just her shoulders instead of its usual length.

She had to look the part as best she could for this, after all.

Next, came the makeup. She had to make sure she looked different enough that they wouldn't be able to identify her, yet also young enough that she could pass for at least a senior student. Thankfully, with some tips...coerced from a makeup artist, she knew exactly how to go about doing that.

The entire process took at least half an hour to apply everything properly. Barring any sudden accidents, she should look almost exactly like her little playmate for this little morning soiree.

"Darling, I look absolutely fabulous~" She chuckled, posing and blowing herself a kiss in the mirror. "I don't look a day over eighteen! I'd thank that makeup artist even more since she gave me such a good foundation to work with. Alas, I can't makeup with her any more...she's already ended her career, and rather mace-terfully, if I do say so myself~" The redhead chuckled, satisfied with her work as she turned away and exited the room.

"Ah, if this wasn't a spur of the moment thing, I could definitely have mingled directly with those little heroes! Change a few things in their records, slap my lovely face on a student ID and slip in unseen...ah. Rather moot, now though, isn't it?"

She turned towards a limp form laying in a puddle of some dark red liquid.

"Wouldn't you agree, little Natsuki?~" She chuckled lightly, and didn't wait for an answer, for one wouldn't have been given. Instead, she grabbed a wine glass sitting on a counter and a small pill sitting next to it and placed it on her tongue, and brought the wine glass full of milk to her lips, swallowing all of it and the pill.

"Ah~ You know, I used to hate milk when I was a child. Ironic now, that I rely on it so much, no?" She flashed herself a smile in the mirror, revealing a sharp, toothy grin. "Ah...almost forgot to lose the fangs." She closed her mouth, placing the wine glass back on the counter. She winced once as she ran her tongue across her teeth, before opening again and checking them, revealing a mouth full of normal, every day teeth that wouldn't be suspicious or odd at all.

With a final smile, she folded the acceptance letter into her pocket along with her newly acquired ID. Her little playmate wouldn't be found until much, much, later. Not until she was already far, far, away from Brave High. Hopefully, at least. There was always a chance of being discovered, but that's what made things so fun, no?~

Whistling a bright tune as she closed the door to the apartment behind her, she set off for Brave High.

~Totally inconspicuous and innocent student, Natsuki Enoki~

@Write - Speaking to

Natsuki made her way up the steps of Brave High, eyeing the students in the process. She had arrived just in time, and with a stride of confidence and certainty, she marched right through, showing them her ID. Aha, such simpletons. Now that she was in? Well...what should she do? It'd be a terrible, terrible, idea to go anywhere near the teachers or linger too long in the main school building, wouldn't it? Though, it'd be fun to just waltz in there and kill a few heroes in a surprise attack, though chances were she'd likely get caught in the end.

Auditorium, it was then, as much fun as prison or a psyche ward sounded~

Following the flow of the students, she made her way to the Auditorium. She noticed a few students, one who had shoved another out of her way, and then another who helped that student up. She had half a mind to do that herself, but someone had beaten her to the proverbial punch...but well, the student who had helped the other up had caught her interest at least.

With a small smile, she headed towards the auditorium, just as a speedy little kid sped past her, causing her to stumble slightly in surprise. Her smile wavered for a few seconds as she watched the child go into the auditorium...and then she laughed.

"My goodness, certainly a lively child~" She chuckled, finally making her way into the Auditorium...and took a seat right behind Namari as another student approached.

"Excuse me. Would you please move your legs aside for a second?"

He sounded, and kinda looked like a Zombie. Huh. She wondered what roll of toilet paper he lost a fight with.

"My, that is rather rude...asking a lady to move." She chuckled, giving a friendly smile to Sou leaning forward slightly so she could better speak with these little heroes. "You could go around you know, darling."

~Miné Onoda~

She found a good seat close to the back, away from most of the other people. Not the very back...but close enough. She also chose a seat that didn't have anyone sitting on the row in front of her, for one very specific reason. She propped up one of her feet on the back of the seat, and folded her arms across her chest. A few students looked like they were gonna sit down, but most figured from the glare she was giving that it was gonna likely be more trouble than it was worth. Good, less annoyances for her to deal with, though she probably would move her leg if someone was intent on sitting there, or there weren't any seats left, if only because she didn't want to get in trouble.

For the most part, Miné kept to herself, as usual, and waited for things to start. Thankfully the kid she shoved didn't try and start anything, though if he did she'd just knock his lights out.

Ugh, she really wanted this to be over with...

Mori Yasu

@Knight of Doom Greeted

----

As Yasu wandered his way through the city, he couldn’t help but marvel at it all. Sure, he’d spent plenty of time in Brave City already, but after a summer back at home, the modernistic skyscrapers and sky-islands were as striking as ever. With a touch more green, Yasu was sure Brave would be the pinnacle of contemporary design. He paused at a café, purchasing a small cup of coffee. It was always a good idea to focus one's mind before joining a crowd of super-powered kids.

Getting closer to the campus, Yasu felt excited. Although he'd done more reading than anything else over the summer, he'd managed to substantially improve on certain elements of his quirk, and he was looking forward to showing his instructors. Beyond that, there was a garden stowed inside that tower which Yasu sorely missed.

Outside the auditorium, Yasu was pleased to see a mixture of new and old faces, from excited freshmen freshmen rushing their way toward the ceremony to exhausted seniors who looked like they were already ready for graduation. It was good to be back.

Inside the auditorium, Yasu looked around for a seat, and found a solid spot next to a girl in his own year... He was fairly certain her name was Ayah, but better safe than sorry. Yasu merely smiled and offered up a peace sign, happy to converse or silently wait for the day's events, depending on the mood of his classmate.

Tonaka Hokama

@Rune_Alchemist

Tonaka finds himself getting played with some of the seniors in front of him. He didn't know them, and they probably don't know him either, but why did they think it was a good idea trying to pick on someone who looks completely normal? Well... more like "Normal". He didn't know. Probably those bastards were just simply bored and wanted to pick on the nearest "weak-looking" kid within their line of sight. Is everything just going to go downhill just before the day has even started? After all, it would be a shame if Tonaka will let his dark side get ahold of him completely. It'll get him expelled in a simple heartbeat.

"Assholes..." he mutters as he tries to keep his cool and ignores them.

They began to say names such as "Whitey", "Pale-Ass", "Blue-Eyed Bitch", you know, the regular. He didn't really care much for what they said, but it was still rather annoying none of the less. Regardless, as much as Tonaka wanted to kick their asses, he chose the more passive approach. He simply gets up slowly and gets himself out of the row. He really didn't want today to be a bad day, even though they sorta asking for it. But who wants to get expelled from an Academy such as this one? He slowly walks up the auditorium, scouting for an available seat for him to sit in. Most of them were already taken as the crowd begins to slowly thin out at the entrance. He was wondering if he'd have to stand up for this.

Then Tonaka finally sees an empty seat by the third to the last row on the third column. There is a girl already sitting in the back row with her legs up on one of the seats. He was beginning to wonder if he should sit there or not, considering there seems to be another punk just oozing of trouble. Then again, seats were filling up fast, so unless he wants to stand, he shouldn't let this pass by. He casually walks over and slides into the row.

"Scuse me," he kindly asks as he sits in the seat right beside to where the girl's legs were perched up.

Hopefully if he leaves her alone, he won't get anymore trash thrown at him... right?

Tatsumi turned the paper he'd received with the acceptance letter around, and growled lightly in consternation. He'd been looking at the damn thing upside down, no wonder he wasn't in the right seating area! Once he finally had it straight, he set off for the other side of the auditorium. Not wanting to be called out for passing in front of everyone at the front meant that he had to double back towards the entrance, then cut across the back. On his way he saw some girl who had an expression he recognized all too well--a delinquent, like him, glaring at anyone and everyone and just daring them to cross her.

No, he wasn't going to be a delinquent. Not anymore. He had to be better than that, now. He could do it. Right? He grimaced, his face naturally becoming fierce out of habit. He passed along the aisle by the glaring girl just as some timid-pretty boy approached her and sat nearby, speaking to the girl as he did so. Tatsumi scoffed under his breath. Good luck, man.
As he passed in front of the entrance, he saw a bunch of other kids who, by their height and general nervous demeanor, were probably also first years. There was one girl who looked like she needed help, her hand on her chin as she looked around at all the others.

"Yo," he said, walking up to the girl with a small wave of greeting. He hoped he didn't still have his "resting bitchface" on, but so many years of troublemaking weren't going to evaporate so quickly. Because he'd repeated a year, and because he was just naturally fairly tall for his age, he loomed over the pink haired girl. Combined with his expression, his beanie, and the way his dyed hair spiked out messily from underneath it, Tatsumi probably didn't realize just how fierce he looked.

"You a first year, too? Our seats is s'posed to be over there, I think." He gestured in the direction of said seats, then to the girl. "Come on, I bet they gonna start soon."

@Pacifista - Tatsumi is speaking to Matsuri
@Rune_Alchemist - Noticed, Mine might notice Tatsumi's change of expression when he looks at her.
@Lmpkio - Noticed, Tonaka might notice Tatsumi scoffing under his breath as he goes by.

The Arioch family automobile rolled quietly down the street toward the looming tower that was Brave High. The car was only a compact-size hybrid- research grants didn't grow on trees -and so the family of three was quite tightly packed in. This of course left Luca no room with which to avoid the incessant fussing of his mother, nor the stony gaze of his father occasionally glancing back at him in the rear view mirror.

Turning around to face him for what was probably the millionth time that car ride, Luca's mother handed him a small cooler that was probably used originally for transporting organs. "Luca, dear, here's your lunch. You've got protein paste, vitamin capsules, glucose-rich crackers and a juice box. I put myocyte-enhancers in the juice box; a growing boy needs plenty of myocytes!"

Luca did his best to keep a cringe from forming on his face as he looked through the barely-edible contents of his improvised lunch box. "Thanks, mom."

"I shouldn't have let you wear that big sweater, it doesn't fit you at all! You would look so smart and handsome in a nice suit. Business casual at least!"

Looking down at the heavy, red hoodie that he was wearing, Luca responded only by shrugging. The loose, thick fabric disguised the unsightly bulges and strange lights that his implants made on his body. Of course, they ran up the back of his neck as well, but that was why he wore his hair long and loose over it.

His mother must have caught onto the same line of thought as him, as she was now fussing over his hair. She licked her fingers and tried to smooth down a cowlick at the top of his head, "Oh, Luca, you didn't even brush your hair! People will think you were raised by luddites!" Luca squirmed uncomfortably under her forceful mothering, and looked to his father for assistance. He wasn't looking back at that time, and stayed silent as ever.

His mother's overbearing nurturing continued for the rest of the car ride, and they eventually pulled up near the school entrance. Many other children around Luca's age were piling out of cars, busses or arriving by bike or foot, and Luca was eager to join them. As he scrambled out of his parents' car, they were close behind him, and his mother was once again smothering him as she hugged him tightly

"Oh, Luca, sweetheart, will you be alright? You don't have to go if you don't want to, you can stay with us for as long as you want. We'll get you an Sc.D. by the time you're twenty; you'll have nothing to worry about!" His mother babbled as she squeezed him, obviously trying to soothe her own nerves over the matter. Luca began to struggle, and his father cleared his throat loudly and abruptly. Realizing that she was making a scene, his mother released him as she wiped at the tears that were starting to form in her eyes.

As Luca turned to leave, he felt a large, strong hand on his shoulder. Father. Before Luca could turn around, he heard his rumbling voice. "You'll be fine, son." With that, the pressure of the hand disappeared, and Luca walked onward.

Name: Dirk Ryan
Location: School Roof --> Auditorium in the back.
Mentions: None at this time.

The wind howled as it rushed up the tower from the city streets, combing through stone-grey strands of hair as silver-dollar eyes stared down at the ants below him. The young man was standing on the roof of Brave High, and while some students with impeccable eyesight might have feared that he was a jumper, he was actually enjoying himself. There was something about standing on a ledge, several hundred feet above the earth that made him feel…well…human. It made him feel excited and with the silence but for the howling wind, it was peaceful. He could reflect up here.

His white tank billowed and flapped over softly defined bricks of muscle that lined his stomach. A leather belt with a steel buckle was joined at his hips, holding up the dark-blue denim jeans that seemed to slump a little over a pair of black boots.

It was the start of a new year, and honestly, he couldn’t wait to graduate. Once junior year came along, everything seemed repetitive. Raising his wristwatch in view of his eyes, the horned young man turned from the ledge and heavily stepped down as the gravel that covered the rooftop crunched beneath his feet.

It’s a shame that I already slept, Dirk thought. He wouldn’t have minded sleeping through the orientation, but then he might have actually slept through school, which wouldn’t have been a first. He once upon a time awoke in the classroom and the class and school had long concluded.

Dirk took the stairwell down. He hadn’t quite trusted the elevator after his two years of being at the school. As soon as he made it back down to the first floor, the auditorium was bustling with new and excited fresh meat and the boasting noise of the returning class.

There were specific seats and positions in the room where students sat, but Dirk stuck to the back of the auditorium. Unlike most humans, his quirk allowed him to stand for long hours without feeling any aches or discomfort. With how still he tended to become, most didn’t believe him to be a real person but a mannequin or mascot of some sort.

Maybe I can just zone out for a while, (and hope not to doze) he mused.

Ayah Cadeyrn

@Falkon - Speaking with

Ayah saw a figure approaching from the corner of her eye. She looked up to see a student in her grade, Mori Yasu. She had made it a point to know everyone in her grade level by name and by their quirk. If she remembered correctly, he had an interesting quirk with plant life. She instantly smiled invitingly as he came her direction. He gave her acknowledgement of existence, so she decided to chat. She was starting to get bored of her phone anyways. There's only so much you can do without wifi.

“Hey, Yasu. How was your summer break? Do anything fun?” She asked. From what she had seen, he was a nice guy, but that also meant that he didn't speak up a lot. In a group filled with aspiring heroes, that usually meant your words were drowned out. Since they'd probably be in the same class together, Ayah decided to at least get to know her classmate a bit better.

Also, when would the opening ceremony start? She had been there for what seemed like forever. A clock in the auditorium said that there were still a few minutes left until the ceremony could be considered late. Then again, that's what she gets for being so early. Oh well, she could simply blame her mother for that small issue. Not that she'd actually say that out loud. Ayah's mother wasn't necessarily scary, it was her father who did most of the scaring and punishing. But her father did everything that her mother demanded. Snapping out of her short monologue, Ayah returned her attention to Yasu. Not that she hadn't been listening to him, of course. She can do two things at once, you know!

Namari glanced up as a boy approached her, he had a somewhat sullen look in his eyes, then again it was rather early.

“Oh of cou-“ She began, but then someone from behind her piped up. She spoke half-heartedly with a spring in her voice. She spoke of improper behavior asking the boy to just go around instead. Namari brought a hand up to about her chin’s height and giggled a little waving it back and forth.

“Not necessary, allow me.” She said with a small smile, raising up and out of her seat and taking a step backwards. Carefully avoiding anything in order to allow the boy to make his way past her. Once he would pass her by she would sit back down in her seat and throw her feet up on the chair in front of her, slightly indenting it.

“Oh fiddleshits.” She said quickly leaning forward attempting, poorly, to fix the indentation in the chair. She looked around laughing nervously rubbing the back of her neck. “That may have been a bit of a mistake.” Namari gave the boy beside and the girl behind her a small shrug and slumped back into the chair. She resigned herself to her fate as chair murderer and decided to wait for the announcements to begin – whenever that would be. Her feet rested underneath the chair that she had previously dented. She quickly unhitched her water bottle and finished the water she had left.

She glanced backwards at the door reluctantly to presumably where some water fountain would be. But she ended up making eye contact with Natsuki.

“I’m Namari, Namari Sume – it’s nice to meetcha all.” She gave a small nod to the two who had spoen up before going back to twiddling her thumbs waiting for the presentation to begin.

“Oh of cou-“

"My, that is rather rude...asking a lady to move."
"You could go around you know, darling."

Another voice unexpectedly answered his request, he glanced at the female student who was now flashing him a smile of sorts. Sou furrowed his eyebrow and an expression of confusion etched across his face. He didn't properly know how to react to social ques like this and so he simply nodded before turning away.

“Not necessary, allow me.”

The other student now got out of her seat and allowing an entrance. Sou sauntered in slowly and sat in the eats in between the two students, as uncomfortably nervewracking as it was. After he had sat down, the girl who had gotten up sat back down and threw her feet up the chairs infront her, dentine it in the process. A surprised look now replaced his confused expression, he knew there would be quirks like this but to see it upclose if something else.

“Oh fiddleshits.”
“That may have been a bit of a mistake.”

After her attempts to fix her imprresive indenting of the chair, she leaned back and laughed anxiously before leaning back once more and introducng herself;

“I’m Namari, Namari Sume – it’s nice to meetcha all.”

Sou thought to himself for a second, he preferred not to speak but since they were being nice enough he decided to introduce himself, albeit in a whisper.

"... I'm Sou, Sou Shizukana." he replied, attempting to mirror her way of introducing herself.

The edges of Matsuri's lips curled up: mission complete. Looking up at the guy, she wondered, "How were we supposed ta know anyway?"

Wait, in his hand...a paper? Actually, looking around, almost everyone had a paper...where was Matsuri's paper!?

Patting her pockets, Matsuri heard a familiar crinkle, before pulling out her opened acceptance letter. "H-how'd this get here?" she said a bit fearfully.

Figuring it was no longer important, Matsuri returned it to her pocket before noting, "Hey, yer actually pretty nice. What's yer name?" Some gears in her head shoving together, Matsuri got a bit more intense, blurting, "And what's yer HERO name gonna be!? Are ya gonna get a cool costume!? Are ya gonna name yer attacks!?" Matsuri was shorter than this dude but that didn't seem to stop her from getting her wide eyes up in his face.

~Totally inconspicuous and innocent student, Natsuki Enoki~

@Inertia - speaking
@Write - Speaking

“Oh fiddleshits. That may have been a bit of a mistake.”

Natsuki blinked, and then laughed softly. Well. She wasn't a fan of vulgar language in general but the way Namari said it was just...well, slightly adorable. Natuski watched in silence as Sou went to take a seat next to Namari. Namari attempted to fix the chair, but to no avail. An interesting quirk then. Either it was something to do with her legs, or she didn't have entire control over her quirk yet. Logically speaking though, it was probably a mix of both.

...well, she did like girls with some nice legs. She liked polite ones that introduced themselves even more!~ Even the rude young man that asked her to move introduced himself earlier as Sou Shizukana. Well, it seems most of these heroes this year were fairly polite, weren't they? Perhaps she could...convince a few to work for her or something? It'd certainly be interesting, at least...to see these so called heroes fighting themselves.

It was a nice thought, at least, but she'd need more than just a passing fancy to be able to accomplish something like that.

"Well, someone certainly didn't skip leg day." She chuckled lightly, before realizing she had yet to introduce herself. "Oh, how rude." She said after a few moments of silence with a small smile. "I haven't introduced myself. Natuski Enoki. Senior this year. Pleasure to meet both of you, Sou, Namari."

She offered both of them a bright smile, leaning back in her chair. She crossed her legs, folding her hands on them and simply waited for this thing to start. She wondered what this new year would bring for these little heroes?

@Zeroth - Flipped Tatsumi off

Mine was minding her own business, though a few of the braver students started taking seats closer to her. Well, actually, they probably just ran out of seats and they were starting to fill up. At least no one had tried to take her foot rest from her yet, so she could relax for just a bit longer before this whole thing decided to inevitably put her to sleep. In fact, she was already starting to feel a bit sleepy from this.

Her eyes started closing.

Just a few more seconds, and she'd probably be asleep.

"Scuse me,"

And then someone had to fuck everything up.

This.

Guy.

She opened her eyes with a slight snarl, looking over at the guy who had spoken to her.

"Whatever," She replied. "Keep quiet and don't annoy me, and we won't have any problems. Got it?"

Well, she couldn't really fault him for sitting next to her, could she? He hadn't done anything to seriously annoy her, since chances were she'd fall asleep quite soon. In fact, she just gave the guy a silent shrug, and was about to do just that...when she noticed someone a few rows away give her a glare for seemingly no reason at all.

She of course, glared back, and promptly flipped the guy off. She had half a mind to throw one of these chairs at him, but fucking hell...she removed her leg from the chair, and placed her foot on the floor. She was a bit agitated now, and she really wanted something to do other than sit on her ass doing nothing.

Nina Aiza

@Pacifista@Zeroth

The Aiza household up was up early, but that wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. Nina always got up around six for an early morning run, her father’s radio program started early as well, and for the times her mother could come home she’d often join her daughter on her run. It was one of the few things they could regularly do with each other, and as an active Hero wanted to spend as much time with her little girl as she could.

Well, little probably wasn’t the right word for her anymore. Today started Nina’s first year at Brave High after all. Her mother was ready to give the school a recommendation to get her in, but she was very adamant about getting in through her own merit. ”What point is there in getting in if I don’t do it myself?” she reasoned.

Following their jog Nina got ready for school as normal, but took a moment to review how she looked in her uniform again. Sleeves… skirt… If there was one thing she’d eternally dislike about school, it’d be the mandate for her to wear sleeved clothing and skirts. She just remedied the skirt issue by wearing a pair of shorts under it, but the sleeve issue would have to wait until summer uniforms were in.

Despite how early they all were to start, they were actually running a little late by the time they filed out of the house. There was some issues with the water that was holding them up from taking a shower, but they managed to make do. Nina’s parents had intended to drop her off at school by car just because they could, but now it was more than necessary if they hoped to get her there on time. Thankfully, traffic was relatively light as they approached the towering school.

Didn’t mean Nina still wasn’t in a rush, though.

After running through a quick list of things to bring, Nina said her goodbyes to her parents and rushed out from the car towards the auditorium. Or at least, where she thought the auditorium was. She dug into her blazer pocket and pulled her slightly crumpled acceptance letter out to read over again. ”Uhhh… Let’s see…” the girl pondered aloud, ”Gotta go… Here?” She looked up at the remaining students making their way inside and opted to follow them, deducing that to be the auditorium.

Once in, she tried following the directions on the paper to the appropriate seating area. She couldn’t really tell where it was, though, amidst the sea of buzzing students. Matsuri’s voice managed to stand out from the rest of the crowd, however, and Nina’s ears locked in on it. ”That sounds like another first year to me,” she thought, ”I can ask her where to go then.” She paused for a moment and then grinned, ”Heh, maybe I can even get a scare out of her.”

With her plan set, Nina started walking up to Matsuri from behind. She noticed there was a taller guy there with her too, but if her comment was anything to go by they must have been complete strangers too. Since nothing was stopping her, she suddenly draped her arm around Matsuri's shoulder and loudly greeted the two, ”Hey! You guys first years too? Got any clue where to sit?”

Tatsumi

@Pacifista - Speaking to
@Great Sogeking - Speaking to

"Hey, yer actually pretty nice. What's yer name?"

"I'm Oshiro Tatsumi!" the boy said with a smile, pointing at himself with a thumb. This girl's enthusiastic response was a lot better than he thought it would be, given his appearance. But then she just kept going.

"And what's yer HERO name gonna be!? Are ya gonna get a cool costume!? Are ya gonna name yer attacks!?"

"Ah, uh," Tatsumi said sheepishly, rubbing at the back of his head. "I don't...I don't really know, yet. I didn't even turn in the form they sent us for hero costume requests..." He looked away, more than a bit ashamed of the fact. The truth was, he had never even considered becoming a hero until a few weeks ago. He really did want to be one, he just...had no idea how. And he sucked at drawing and had no idea how to make a cool outfit, or even what kind of add-ons would be beneficial for his quirk. And he didn't want to half ass it and then have someone make fun of him for it. Honestly, the thought of him, of all people, being so timid and unsure of himself made him...a little bit angry. At himself, mostly.

But he had made that decision. He was going to turn his life around, starting here.

Just as he had gathered himself enough to look the other girl in the eye again and try to continue the conversation, another girl entered the fray and threw a friendly arm around the pinkette's neck.

”Hey! You guys first years too? Got any clue where to sit?”

"Yeah, we's s'posed to be over there." Tatsumi said, pointing. As he looked towards the stage for a moment, he noted that several figures were filing in. "And it looks like they startin', come on!" He motioned for both girls to follow and quickly jogged to find a seat, practically throwing himself down in the first available one. He looked over the back to see if the other newcomers had followed his lead, then turned his attention towards the auditorium stage.

The foremost figure was a young-looking blonde man, but the hard look of his eyes and the set of his jaw, as well as his height, made it clear that he was an adult. He actually almost looked like a Yakuza enforcer, as he was wearing a black suit over a red vest with a white tie and carried a very functional looking katana in his left hand. The lacquered sheath even gleamed as brightly as his black dress shoes did. Tatsumi heard whispers coming from other seats.

"It's Masamune! Man, he's so cool!"

"My older brother said he's one hell of a teacher, though; he's supposed to be super strict."

Next was an attractive woman with long white hair and a gentle face. She too wore a suit over a frilly red blouse, though hers was gray and she wore a knee-length pencil skirt along with it. Tatsumi gulped and glanced around--he could practically see the hearts in the eyes of some of the male student population. But the lady, despite her gentle looks, also gave off a chill air of sorts. Maybe it was just the aura of a professional hero.

"It's Snow White! Man, I used to have a bunch of her photobooks!"

Photobooks? Tatsumi gulped again. What kind of photobooks?

On the opposite side of the blonde guy from the white-haired woman, an older man stepped up and seemed to be quietly saying a few words to the two. His face looked more haggard than theirs--his eyes were squinty and had bags underneath them, and his chin had some scruff going on. His black hair was all over the place, too. But his three piece suit looked way more professional than theirs; sharp-lined, perfectly tailored to his fit, and immaculately clean and pressed. His vest, jacket, pants and shoes were all jet black, with the only color being a red tie snug around his neck.

"Who's that dude?"

"No idea. Some washout hero who couldn't hack it and had to teach to get by, I guess."

"Whoa, look there, though! It's him, it's Decaman!"

Tatsumi's head snapped around. The dirty blonde, hulking brute of a man currently walking onto the stage and barely squeezing into a gray suit with what looked like a red tank top underneath, was the famous hero Decaman, the man with the strength of ten. He stood quite a bit taller than the others, but his square jaw held a big toothy grin. Tatsumi leaned forward in his seat.

It had been Decaman that had saved him, that day. Granted, there had been a fight, too...an extremely short lived one. But it had been Decaman who had extended a hand to him and said those words. He still heard them every night in his dreams...

"You are better than this. You CAN be better than this."

Tatsumi clenched a fist as a grin of his own began to spread across his cheeks.

Across the street from the school, simply standing at the corner and glaring at anyone who dared to glance at him, was a man. He was dark skinned, with greasy looking black dreadlocks, and wore a simple white tanktop with a pair of baggy, camo-colored cargo shorts belted low on his waist. He was staring at the school with clear hatred in his eyes, his mouth set in a grim line as his teeth clenched beneath his pursed lips. His nostrils flared as he let a breath go, then he turned to the side and shoved his hands into his pockets. He set off down the street parallel to the school walls, glancing over at them every so often.

So that was what Tatsumi wanted to do, huh? Wanted to run with the "big dogs," wanted to step on the little people, wanted to leave behind everything they'd worked for? Wanted to abandon his friends, and spit in their faces, kick 'em while they were down? Well, Tatsumi would get what was coming to him. Maybe not now. Maybe not even today. But it was coming, and Tatsumi could bet on it.

@Inertia@Rune_Alchemist@Lmpkio@Write@Dead Cruiser@Holy Soldier@Falkon@Knight of Doom@Dblade26@Poke

"Good morning, students." began Masamune, also known as Mr. Matsumoto, as he stepped up to the podium and pulled one of the microphones closer. "And welcome to Brave High--where we believe that the most courageous heroes are the strongest." He glanced over the auditorium, his eyes as sharp as his sword. For just a fraction of a second he glanced back over his shoulder at Kobayashi, and received a barely perceptible nod of the head from the man with much better eyesight than his own. No problems, other than the usual, then. Kids would always be kids, and when Quirks were involved simple arguments could turn heated quickly, but thankfully nothing stupid had happened yet. Masamune launched into the rest of his speech. "Here at Brave High, you will..."

It went on much like any other school entrance ceremony would. Other students, representatives of the different classes and the student council, made their own speeches after a short greeting from the sword-toting hero. Then they all had to stand for the rendition of the school song by the older students, and then each of the teachers took the podium for a moment to say a few words. There were others besides the four heroes who had sparked such interest among the students, but they weren't quite so renowned and some of them weren't even former heroes, just people who had the right qualifications to teach at a high level. Tatsumi just barely managed not to doze off, mostly by watching Decaman intensely and thinking how much he wanted to be like him. It took about an hour, all told, then Masamune, Decaman, Snow White, and that scruffy guy all stood up.

"Freshman class, if you will please gather up on my side of the auditorium." Masamune said, gesturing to his left and the student's right.

"Sophomores over here, if you please!" Snow White smiled and waved next to the blonde.

"I'll be taking you Juniors! Gwahahaha!" Decaman stood typical American-superhero-style, fists on his hips and legs spread shoulder width, his broad chest proudly puffed out.

"And that leaves me with the seniors." The scruffy guy was pulling out what looked like a pack of cigarettes from his shirt pocket and tapping them in his palm, old-school style. "Hurry it up."

There was a general scramble as the students moved to their respective teachers, and then they were all escorted out of the auditorium, each class leaving via one of the four corner exits that led to other parts of the school, rather than going back out through the main entrance that led to the foyer and lockers.

As mentioned before, Brave High's general shape was like a giant baseball diamond with four towers sticking out of it. The auditorium was actually very close to what one might call the home base. Each group now headed to the outfield, so to speak, though they did it through a long network of hallways. The freshmen headed to first base, the sophomores to third, and the seniors to second, while the juniors were smack dab in the middle on the pitcher's mound.

"On this side of the building, the two towers are the dorms." explained Mr. Matsumoto to the freshmen. "Commuting is fine, but Brave High technically qualifies as a boarding school, and we get a lot of international applicants coming from all the way around the world, so for anyone who needs it there's plenty of lodging. Tower 1 is for girls and tower 2 is for boys. Do NOT get them mixed up. Any hanky panky is, more than likely, going to be met with expulsion." The swordsman glared at his charges for several moments, gauging their expressions as his words sank in. "They each have their own cafeteria, nurse's station, workout gym, computer lab, and study hall as well as the four floors divided among the classes. However, those facilities will likely only be open on the weekends and in the afternoons most of the time, as throughout the rest of the day you'll be in the other wings of the building. They're intended to give you places to study, practice, brush up, and fine tune what you're learning, not to substitute the school experience, so I don't wanna hear about any hikikomori holed up in there all the time."

The tour continued as Matsumoto led the students down the halls. Meanwhile, across the school, Ms. Baumgartner had introduced herself and was showing the students the other two towers via direct tour.

"And this will be your homeroom!" she said cheerily, throwing open the door and gesturing grandly. "As you saw before, they're ordered by floors! Up above you are the juniors and seniors, and then the teacher's offices--"

All the subjects were taught in Tower 3, while Tower 4 contained an enormous library and different labs for each of the science classes, as well as an art room and several spare rooms that usually served as club rooms, although club activities didn't take precedence as much here as they might in other schools due to the fact that most of the students were already here for a specialized career. But for the good of the students' social health, they were still available and provided some much needed relaxation from the rigors of hero training.

"This is the indoor gym. Woohoo." said Mr. Kobayashi as he took a long drag on his cigarette. Normally he would only smoke outdoors, but the gym was so huge--considering it actually took up the upper third of the diamond--that it didn't really matter in here. The huge, domed ceiling spread over an area that was divided into the normal basketball gym, then a padded area with several types of weight lifting equipment and a large space, probably for gymnastics or martial arts practices. There was an indoor pool, and a track circling a sports field completely separate from the rest of the place. "I bet some of you can't wait to get in here and start messing around, but you should know beforehand that Quirks are actually not allowed to be used to their fullest extent in here. This place is for actual sports and fitness training, and that guy back there with shoulders bigger than his head will be breaking your asses in real quick once classes get started." He puffed another cloud and tilted his head back with a sigh that seemed to imply he hated his life.

Finally, the Juniors found themselves outdoors, in a stadium-like setting with the rest of the walls of the diamond surrounding them. The center courtyard was easily just as big as the gym, though they hadn't seen it yet, but was a perfect grassy circle. There was even a small park like area in the center, with bright flowers and shady trees and some nice whitewashed benches. A concrete pathway with doors all leading into the school's different wings surrounded it, and it was this pathway that Decaman had currently gathered the class.

"This, is the Brave Court! Out here is where you'll do most of your real Hero training!" He gestured, then began fiddling in his pocket until he found his smart phone. The object was tiny in his hand, and he had to carefully use his pinky to swipe something and then input some kind of code. "And now I'll show you how!"

Suddenly, the circle split into four pieces. The flower gardens and trees turned out to be perfectly symmetrical within their frames, and were unharmed as the grassy field began sliding further and further back, until only four corners--each with a flower bed, tree, and bench--remained. Then a new floor rose up, this one a square of solid, packed dirt with the familiar white markings of a track and sports field on it.

"Congrats, Juniors!" Decaman said, spreading his huge arms wide. "You get to be the first this year for the Quirk tryouts!" He grinned, then hit another button on his phone. Large screens slid out of the sides of the building on the three walls opposite where the group currently stood, then displayed a number of events and listings.

"I'm sure all of you remember your physical tests and the field days from elementary school! It sucked not being allowed to use your Quirks, right?! Gwahahaha!" A little robot shaped like a trashcan with treads rolled out from somewhere, and as Decaman held his hand out, a softball with a measuring device shot out of the robot's head and into his grip. "Well, today, you finally get to see just how much your Quirks can help you in the different events here! Before we clear out and let the other classes have a go, I want you all to move to the various locations and do the softball toss, the 50 meter dash, the long and high jumps, pushup and situp tests, balance tests, the grip test," He finally stopped to take a breath...then continued. "Sustained side-jumps, toe touch stretches, a punching meter, whack a mole, and finally, clean-and-jerk weightlifting!"

He looked absolutely hyped.

"Changing rooms are over there! LET'S DO IT!" He clapped his hands, the sound like a thunderclap and the wind actually ruffling the hair of the students closest to him.
