[OOC] Avatar/Pokemon (A Crossover Roleplay)

EDIT: The rule itself confuses me a bit, as what classifies those pokemon as either pseudo or semi pseudo is whether or not is their base stat total, which I'm under the impression wasn't going to have a place in this RP.

You do present a good argument there so when I get a chance I'll drop the starting rule from the OOC. (Still need to read over the CS though just to check for any errors)

Reason why I added that rule and no more than 1 is so people don't travel around rocking 3 dragons and such. It's mostly to get people to use other Pokemon (although I don't blame you for not wanting certain crappy Pokemon)

@NuttsnBolts Well this was the outcome I hoped for but didn't expect. I do agree that everyone using the same set of psuedo/semi psuedo pokemon would get boring, though people like the pokemon that they like regardless of whether or not it has really high stats. or anything of the like. (Unless that's your thing, but it doesn't have a place here in this RP anyways.)

Earthbender | Young Adult | Female

Appearance:Despite her above average height, Satomi holds a stocky and muscular frame, as years of fighting and early earthbending have granted her a sturdier build. Lengthy black hair frames her wide and angular face, though sideswept bangs and parted locks allow for her hazel eyes to keep a steady focus on her goal. She is adorned with a knee-length and sleeveless earthy green tunic, secured around her waist with a wide leather belt and round brass buckle. Sported under her tunic is an elbow length taupe shirt, and dirty brown slacked pants. Her hands and forearms are wrapped, as well as her feet and ankles, though she keeps her strapped rope sandals on in most circumstances. Her hair is secured with a green ribbon, and a leather brace sits upon her left arm, both charmed with thin bronze discs.
Equipment:The canvas bag she carries on her back contains an assortment of nuts and apples, some bronze coinage, a leather water skin, and a thin tattered bedroll.
Personality:Years of responsibility have given her a somber point of view, despite her young age. Even in the most drastic situations, Satomi will keep a level head and a steady focus on her fighting. Her demeanor affects normal interractions as well, pushing her to be a lot more thoughtful with who she chooses to befriend or align herself with. That truth aside, she still yearns for friendship among people with common goals. When she gains a friend, she remains steadfast and loyal to their causes.
Her focus is both a blessing and a curse, as she becomes exceptionally good at what she feels most passionate about, while any new interest will be hard for her to adapt to. She is not necessarily closed minded, but instead quite absorbed in what she knows she likes. When she must learn something new, she takes it slowly and focuses more on the details than the big picture. Many find this frustrating; she believes she is only being thorough.
History:Raised by her father amidst the toils of the lower class section of Ba Sing Se, Satomi learned to care for herself faster than most children. Her late mother was an artist for a local theatre, passionate for painting the signs for events and shows. It brought in enough money to support the family, but her passing was detrimental. Her father, an adept Earthbender, did the best that he could to support Satomi, but was ultimately unsuccessful on the emotional level. Work at a local mine demanded travel and long days away from Satomi, pushing her to learn her arts at a breakneck pace.
She started off fighting with her fists while holding heavy stones, throwing punches at the local kids who would try to take advantage of her lonesome status. Around her primary schooling years, she worked on developing her Earthbending skills with the aid of a neighbor, an elderly old woman with experience as a Royal Guard for the Kingdom. It was here that she learned her formidable yet refined techniques in fighting. The style she had learned would come to good use in fending off her more aggressive peers, and she learned to live with more peace in her solitude.
Despite her drive to learn what she could by means of fighting and defense, she honed her character with the older woman as well, coming to regard her as a respected parental figure, and a friend. Many of Satomi's values were shaped in the house next door, and she welcomed the company, nevertheless. Then it would come as no surprise that the death of this friend, in her teenage years, would deal a hard blow to poor Satomi, though it did not break her resilient and determined mind. Instead, she contained the pain and used it to drive her toward another goal. She would rise out of her class and make herself something better than she had ever been before.
Setting off outside of the walls, she entered the villages and towns outside of her city in search of more opportunities. She found one when, to her surprise, she stumbled across a lone Torchic, a small portion of it's beak damaged by a rock and it's head feathers slightly singed. She hadn't any experience with wild animals, only the occasional worker or two in the city, though this one was different. Feeling sympathy for the poor fellow, she took it upon herself to mend the crack and care for him, at least for a short while. As she traveled with him, so did her attachment on his presence, until she decided to keep him under the affectionate name of Katori.
With the pair secured, Satomi began her travels once more, now with a companion, in the hopes that she could help improve both of their lives, and give them a place to belong. Though she hasn't found her calling yet, she has taken great interest in the conflict of the Avatar's sickness, and has brought it upon herself to give aid in combat where applicable.
Aspirations:Satomi longs to raise herself above the low status of her family; to become someone both known and respected. Her zeal for fighting presses her to learn as many techniques as she can in her earthbending style, as well as glean any information from those with the capability to teach her. She holds this same goal for her Torchic, eager to coach him to fight alongside her.

Torchic | Katori | Male

Personality:Katori is timid and sweet, prefering to stay alongside Satomi at all times, perhaps even on her pack, when possible. He is slow to approach other Pokemon, and is startled easily by interraction that is brought along too quickly. Even with this shy nature, he has a bold streak when threatened more than he can handle, and becomes protective of Satori when people give her trouble.
Fighting Style:Katori prefers to fight physically, refraining from using his fiery nature. He is especially proud of his talons.
How the Pokemon will Evolve:Noting that her Torchic has an aversion to fire, Satomi is determined to make him a great fighter. She heard that evolution comes from plenty of practice, and thus, she spars with him often, crafting Pokemon shaped dirt mounds for him to attack in their free time. She is hoping that feeding him well and building muscle will help push him to the next stage.

Desired Second and Third Pokemon:Riolu is a particular interest of Satomi's, as well as Aron. She would be more than happy to accept them into her party, if the opportunity presents itself.

Got the first IC post up for you guys and girls. Hopefully it's alright. Been staring at it for a while now so my brain feels like mush. xD

As I mentioned in the OP, I'm only going to be replying a couple times a week so there isn't going to be a need for you all to necessarily throw up a post ASAP. Once RPing becomes a draining chore rather than "Ooh, I think I'll post today" I find that less enjoyment and effort is placed in.

Anyways, me babbling on and I'm looking at eventually incorporating some of that tournament idea that was discussed in the Interest Check. It's not a bad idea to have something to break up the regular pace. :)

EDIT: Also, this isn't the length I am expecting on a usual basis, so don't be alarmed, lol. Just Plot building.

Nogii Island is the starting location. It's a small island near the end of a river, located south of the northern air temple, and near Serpent's Pass.

@Rune_AlchemistYeah, Ba Sing Se is more a plot builder post to add context. Without it Suu's post wouldn't have much to go on and give little into about the festival. Plus I don't wanna be one of those RPs where the GM mentions the plot, then doesn't use it.

(Also, off topic but I had an RP recently where the GM had the opportunity for a tournament like event, then skipped it to announce the results "he" wanted)
