Zachary Carpenter

Location: Police Station
Interacting With: Vivian Adder, Fugitive, Other Police Officers

He parked his car outside of the station. He had no idea what was going to happen, his job was usually pretty boring, except now everyone was going to be panicking. He entered the station and greeted the other officers in the room. They all looked at him, hoping to get some sort of cue. There wasn't much he could do, their all staring at me, he thought. He walked over to the front of the room.

"Alright everyone, our main goal for at least today is to try and keep everyone from going crazy. The phone lines are probably going to be ringing off the hook, so keep an eye on that," he said to them, and walked over to his office.

He hadn't been in his office long, when an officer walked in, saying something about a fugitive getting caught by the Reverend's daughter. He rolled his eyes, the guy who had come running was a newbie, he didn't know that this was a regular occurrence. He walked out to the front desk and she was there, shoving a guy towards him.

"Brian Lennox," she said to him, "I'm here to collect."

He walked over to a nearby filing cabinet, with problems with the power, they had to have hard copies of everything. He pulled out a file, and compared the picture to the man that's standing before him. They were an exact match.

"Alright then, this is an interesting start to the day. I personally expected nothing but panicked phone calls. Well Ms. Adder, nice job on that one," he says to her as he pulls out the money reward on the fugitive, "There you go, it should all be there. Thank you for your help."

He walks over to the newbie, and smiles at him. "Don't worry kid, you get used to it," he said.

Mitsukuri Katsumi

Location: Jake's
Interacting With: Liam Matthews, Sutton Smith

She walked into the restaurant and was greeted by a young woman in a waitress outfit.

"Can I get some coffee started for you, miss?" the woman asked her.

Katsumi was startled, no one had every called her miss before, it was strange. She accidently started to reply in her native language.

"Hai, onegai," she started to say, before catching herself. "I am sorry for that, no one usually says things like that to me. I was trying to say yes, I would like a cu of coffee please."

Not long after she said this, the only other customer in the restaurant, started holding his head a little. Well, that is strange, wonder if he is American since they are strange people after all. She watched him for a moment, and started to go over to him, when he suddenly stopped.

"I uh, I'm sorry, just thought I saw something and got a fright." he said as he was rubbing his head.

Katsumi knew better than this, she had seen strange things, but she also knew how to respect people. She was very curious, but decided not to pry into it, especially if it was something personal. She thought about his voice for a second, well he isn't American, but I can't place where that accent is from. There was no sense dwelling on it, she turned back to the waitress, "I would like that cup of coffee now please."

Sutton Smith

Location: Jake's
Interacting With: Liam Matthews @Pundii, Mitsukuri Katsumi @BlueSky44

Sutton frowned a bit. After greeting the new customer, said new customer looked like she had aimed a gun at her, and the news caster fell out of his seat, as if she had shot that gun at him. Is there something in my teeth? Sutton wondered, attempting to glance at something reflective out of the corner of her eye.

"What in the name of christ..."

Sutton chuckled uneasily. "Never knew our coffee to have that much of a kick in it... Good thing you didn't order it Irish, if this is how you react to it."

"Hai, onegai...I am sorry for that, no one usually says things like that to me. I was trying to say yes, I would like a cup of coffee please."

Smiling a bit, Sutton nodded and poured another mug. "Don't worry about it, kid. I spent most of my childhood in Germany and Peru--completely understand what you're going through.

"I uh, i'm sorry, just thought I saw something and got a fright," Liam exhausted, righting himself and the stool. Sutton raised an eyebrow at him. She had assumed he was collected, and that he wasn't into all of the apocalypse bullshit. Still, he was a paying customer. Taking his money, she smiled at him kindly, and passed the mug over to the kid a moment later.

"Don't be getting soft of me, now," Sutton teased, before turning her attention to the newcomer. "So what's your story kid? I haven't seen you around before. I'm guessing you're from Japan?"

Sutton glanced up at the clock. She'd have to decide whether or not to go to the meeting. Everyone in town would be in attendance, and to not show up might ostracize her later from her customers. As much as she hated to indulge in the crazy, she couldn't jeopardize any future tips. And besides, she figured she might as well keep an eye on the newscaster. He seemed to have lost a screw or something, what with his talk about seeing something and falling off a stool with one of the loudest yelps she'd ever heard.

"This just in--a massive power outage has occurred in Altsoba. The hospital has resorted to using car batteries in order to run the life support units, with the rest of the city holding their breath. We were unable to get a comment from the mayor at this moment," Amelia Pilkvist announced, holding a calculated gaze towards the camera.

"In other news, a forest fire has broke out in King County, quickly heading towards Altsoba County. Local tribes are calling it the work of Nihasa, the Native American term for devil. This coincides with the sermon given earlier by the Pope, in which he urged the citizens of Altsoba to leave the town, or be burned by God's wrath."

Amelia took a moment to pause, as live footage of the fires appeared on the screen. The smoke was visible for miles, stretching unknown heights. Massive lines of cars clogged up the roads, as families desperately attempted to escape the scourged landscape. Accidents were increasing in number by the minute, and local fire departments unable to do more, with the flames seemingly growing larger with their each and every effort.

"At this time, we here at World News Now would like to urge the residents of Altsoba to use the utmost precaution. We'll be right back after this commercial."

The weather is changing, with the humidity increasing along with the heat. Residents have started to mingle at the Town Center, looking for the mayor, and waiting for the events to begin. Of course, there's still at least thirty minutes to go, but they can't be blamed. It could very well be their last day on earth. Whispers go around the crowd of a beast in the woods, with others swearing up and down that the devil himself possessed them the previous day.

Are you terrified or intrigued? Do you push your way to the front of the crowd when you arrive, assuming you arrive at all? Do you frantically listen to each bit of gossip, or are you more curious about how the press got those generators--they look hospital grade, after all. Whatever you are doing, no that it cannot save you. There is nothing that can prevent the inevitable, for you are in the hands of something greater than yourself.

Hopefully, it lets you live.

@Lady Amalthea @Sohtem: Danica's cramps continue to get progressively worse, and strange burns are appearing on Elizabeth's skin. Hopefully, you make it out of the woods and get some medical attention, as Elizabeth's bite wound isn't looking pretty. You aren't all too far from the hospital, luckily. Still, getting some help might be a good idea.

@Lady Amalthea: Amy has rather bad luck today, it seems. Heading out to the parking lot, some of the street preachers and resident psychos are warning those entering and leaving of the need to repent. Seeing her irritated eyes (quite understandably irritated), they freak. One of them, dressed with all the class and flair of a hobo, attacks Amy with a small pair of scissors, the kind used by 1st graders.

@Witch Cat: Daniyal's safe inside of his house, but there's a bit of a fuss going on outside. A group of "true believers" are parading down Grant road, blaring a trumpet and screaming for each person to repent. The noise is practically deafening, but no one seems to be doing anything about it. Most of your neighbors left town a few days ago.

@Pundii @BlueSky44 @Morose: No more Jedi mind tricks are going on, fortunately. It seems that Liam's vision was just a one-time thing. Or at least, we can hope...

@Morose @BlueSky44: For Vivian and Zachary, a buruburu manifests itself in the station. These spirits feed off of fear, and infect people with "ghost sickness." If infected, the victim becomes more and more panicked, until dying of a heart attack. Vivian is infected-- Zachary is not.

@Morose: After he finishes praying, the Reverend hears a strange noise coming from the garage. Better go investigate. Once entering the garage, he'll notice that nothing seems amiss, and his car is just as he left it.

@Pirouette: Nothing strange happens, though, given that Elisse is a ghost, she herself is strange. Most people here at the Town Center are a bit early, but one may stand out in particular to you. A rather gorgeous woman makes her way through the crowd, a picture of the surgeon at the hospital, Amy Chang, in her hands. The woman glances over at you, her eyes flashing a peculiar shade of silver. If the eyes didn't tip you off already, you develop a strange notion that whatever she is, she definitely isn't human.

Danica & Amy

Location: Parking Lot
Interacting With: @Sohtem & Idiots

"Yeah, yeah shut it," Danica said as she helped Ellie across the street. Reaching the crosswalk she groaned as another wave of cramps came through her. "I'm just helping you so I can steal some pain killers at this point," she said with a smirk on her lips as she gave the woman a bit of a wink. Not that she was serious but anything to break the tension and help keep both their minds off their own pain. "Anyways, if this the end times, I want a good deed on my record before I go," she laughed as they made their way to the hospital.

Danica froze as they reached the hospital parking lot and saw what was unfolding. A woman in scrubs had stepped outside for what seemed like a break only to get the Jesus freaks all up in her business. Danica helped Ellie over to a bench to sit down as she witnessed on of the idiots going after the Asian woman with a pair of scissors. Were those actually a pair of you can't cut shit with these preschool scissors?

"Get those gorram things away from me you dolt," Amy yelled as she jumped back, really wishing right then she had her bat with her as the crowd kept yelling as they tried to surround her. Maybe stumbling around in the dark dealing with holy peanut oil wasn't so bad after all.

"Stay here," Danica said quickly before rushing over to help the woman. She didn't know why these people were attacking her but from the yells they thought she was a demon, or Satan. Who knows, maybe they thought she was with the IRS and they didn't want to file anymore taxes. Either way, the odds were not exactly in the spirit of sportsmanship. Danica wasted no time as she ran over and tapped one of them on the shoulder. As they turned around she simply let her fist meet the woman's jaw and sending her spilling out onto the concrete.

Amy jumped back again as the wannabe hobo took another swing at her. "Hey, cut it out!" Amy yelled as Danica came up behind Mr. Hobo, spinning down low and catching the back of his calves with her heel. Tumbling to the ground as Danica stood up, him looking up at her from the flat of his back.

"God demands we purge this earth of Demons and devils!" the man bellowed, causing Danica to roll her eyes; glancing over towards Amy.

"What you do to get their panties in a wad?"

"Fuck if I know, I am breathing?"

"How dare you!" Danica chuckled as she looked back over to the man and gave him a swift kick to the ribs. "Well, looks like I arrived just in time."

"And what's that make you? A big damn hero?"

"Ain't I just," Danica laughed.

"She's evil! We must stop her!" another one in the crowd yelled. Amy would have facepalmed if she didn't want to take her eyes off the mob.

"No! She ain't!" Mrs Johnson, ol peanut fool, called out as she left the ER entrance with her kids in tow. She rushed in, explaining that Dr. Chang had saved her boys, helped to rid them of the demon that was bottled in a false saints oil. Danica went slack jawed, as did Amy but neither were sticking around. Slowly they stepped out of the crowd. Danica grabbing Amy by the arm and leading her over to Ellie.

"You a nurse?"

"Doctor."

"Even better, we need help," Danica explained as they made their way over to Ellie quickly. Amy leaning down and checking on the woman.

"Okay, let's get her inside, what happened?" Dr. Chang asked as Danica and Amy helped Ellie back up and started to walk towards the hospital, being careful to avoid the crowd.

Elizabeth Hawthorne

Location: Hospital Parking Lot
Interacting With: Danica Graves, Amy Chang @Lady Amalthea

Ellie cracked a small grin at Danica's remark, she seemed to have a bit of the same attitude that Ellie did and that was someone she could get along with real well given enough time. “Well I'm sure there are plenty of pain killers at the hospital, just gotta be quick before the looters get to it.” She teased back with a chuckle, wincing a little when the pain in her arm flared up, “I'll be sure to tell everyone you helped me so you get your hero's medal after this is all over.” She added, her small smirk not fading, even with her injuries feeling like they were getting worse.

Ellie looked up when they managed to make it to the hospital, only for there to be a crowd of people there, no doubt some were looking to be helped and others were there to prattle on about the end times and repenting and all that other nonsense that Ellie received when she had arrived home. “Oh good and here I thought we wouldn't have to deal with anymore craziness, guess luck is still favoring the fortunate.” Spoke aloud, mostly to herself, she didn't know what was worse, her being shredded like she was or the fact that there were all these religious freaks trying to get people to repent and go to their religion and all this other stuff that Ellie felt was just pure nonsense.

Ellie nodded when she was placed down on a nearby bench and told to wait there, not that she really had any plans to go anywhere else, nor really could she. She continued to pant heavily as small drops of blood fell from the jacket Danica had given her to try and stop or at least slow down the bleeding; her arm feeling like it was starting to pulse as her bit wound began to burn, the sooner she could get patched up, the better.

Her eyes felt heavy as she struggled to keep them open, slowly her body slid to the side until she fully collapsed on the bench, she didn't know why she was feeling this exhausted, sure she had been attacked, but she felt much less fatigued moments earlier, perhaps her injuries were already infected, she didn't know. Her attention drew to Danica once more when she used what looked like some martial arts moves to get a hobo looking man away from what looked like a doctor, something that only impressed Ellie more.

Ellie saw the two chatting a bit before they made their way over to her, she continuing to hold onto the jacket that was wrapped around her arm as it loosely hung from the bench, a decent sized yet still relatively small pool of blood on the ground. “Oh you know doc, just the friendliness of the apocalypse greeting me in it's own special way.” Ellie spoke up though the question wasn't really directed at her. Wincing when they lifted her up once more and started to take her towards the hospital, though she was feeling tired even more now, her legs tripping up a few times as they got closer to the inside of the hospital.

Vivian Adder

Location: Police Station
Interacting With: Zachary @BlueSky44

Vivian skimmed through the bundle of cash, mentally counting it all. Satisified, Vivian pocketed it, before smirking at the sheriff. The sheriff had lived in Altsoba longer than she had, so naturally, she knew everything about him. She had poured over files after files, learning more and more about the man behind the disgustingly standard uniform.

She had laughed, reading about the deaths of his family. It was fitting.

"Got anything juicy for me, sheriff?" Vivian teased, batting her eyelashes. "I'd love to please you..."

One of the cops, a newbie, brushed by Vivian on his way out. She rolled her eyes at him, and scratched at her arm. Smiling up at the sheriff, she hardly noticed as strange burns and boils appeared on her skin, and somehow without her noticing, her heart began to accelerate. Vivian was entirely disconnected from her body--her meat suit, as she called it.

"Sheriff, something the matter?" Vivian asked, walking her fingers up his chest. "You can trust me, Zachary... I'd never lie to you."

Vivian grinned, as the burn marks appeared on her face, covering it down the center. Her eyes flashed a solid black, before returning to normal. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for her skin.

Reverend Adder

Location: Number 5 Maple Road
Interacting With: Something That Goes Bump in the Night

The Reverend bowed his head once more, reciting the Lord's Prayer. In times of need, he often would run through the scripture, attempting to find further meaning from the words. However, once something is repeated often enough, its purpose and meaning are forever loss. This was the case for the Reverend. No longer could he understand or appreciate those words more than a primary school student could appreciate the Pledge of Allegiance.

He was merely going through the motions of seeking salvation. He and Donne would have been kindred spirits, certainly.

A soft crash broke the Reverend from his thoughts. "Vivian, sweetheart?" he called out, glancing around uncertainly. As far as he was aware, Vivian had left, and never would have come back so soon. She hated the place.

The crash sounded again.

He stood to his full height, slowly walking towards the garage. The sounds grew louder and louder, the intensity doubling with each step he took. The Reverend sweated nervously, opening the door to the laundry, stepping through, and then entering the garage. The lights were off. He flicked them on, and glanced around, seeing no signs of anyone.

There was simply his car.

"Timothy 4:13 - Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching," the Reverend whispered. "Focus on saving those souls."

Leaving the garage, he couldn't help but eye his car, as if at any moment, it may roar to life and attack. He uneasily shut the door behind him, very certain that something sinister was taking place in his house, if not in the entire town. He'd have to deal with it later, with the Town Meeting approaching rapidly.

He'd have to figure out something.

Joel Shcroeder

Location: Alistair Apartment 6B Patio/Town Center
Interacting With: N/A

Saving the document, he shut his laptop happily, satisfied with his work for the day. Taking a final slow drag from his pipe, he lifts his ankle to rest on his knee and taps the pipe-bowl against the sole of his shoe, emptying it of any remaining ash. Then, after placing the pipe, tobacco, and matchbook back into his pouch, he stands and returns it the his pocket. He then picks up his laptop, and walks back into his apartment, setting it down on his nightstand. Sliding on a light, black sports-coat over his plain white button up, rolling the sleeves to a few inches above his elbow, and collecting his keys as he walks back out the door.

Checking the time on his pocket-watch, he opts out taking his bike to the meeting and wasting time trying to find a parking space. Instead, he begins to walk at a casual, yet quick pace towards town center. Noticing the steady increase of others walking in the same direction, he recognizes that he must be getting closer and closer to his destination. A few minutes and a cigarette later, he finds himself facing a crowd of others packed into a relatively small area. Making his way to the front and past the separation tape, he finds his reserved seat, his last name on a neatly folded piece of paper resting on the padded chair.

Pulling his phone from his pocket and raising the brightness to see past the glare, he opens a browsing app and directs his way to a forum, his personal favorite, in which different forms of symbolism are deciphered as requested. Skimming through the various threads, he finds one lacking an image, titled "Apocalypse?" in bold, red letters. Opening the board, he scrolls through slowly, taking in the responses and submissions, including several "Ancient Symbols" that a trained eye such as himself would easily recognize as fraud.

Sighing gently, he locked his phone and returned it to his pocket, and pulled from another his pouch. Holding the pipe in one hand and the tobacco in another, he began to pack his pipe First like a baby, second like a women, and finally like a man. he thought to himself, reciting a very common and useful mantra used by many as a reference of how to pack a pipe. Taking a few tester puffs to make sure the tobacco wasn't packed too hard, or not enough, he pinched a small bit of tobacco onto the top of his pipe, and lit it with a match. Puffing quickly, he watched until the entire surface of the pipe's bowl was glowing bright red, then used his thumb to tamper down and extinguish the burning tobacco. After the thin wisps of smoke subsided and the tobacco was almost entirely extinguished, he draws out another match and strikes it, lighting his pipe for the second time and taking slow, thoughtful drags. The profile of the tobacco was heavy, dense, with a few subtle spices to improve the flavor and release a sweet and warm scent into the air around him.

Running his eyes over the forming crowd, he heard bits and pieces of various conversations and gossips. Out of the dozens of people mingling into the crowd, a beautiful young woman stood out to him, her eyes seeming to shimmer. With a quizzical expression, he focused on her to try and take in any minor details that might set her aside from the others she was walking past. As he focused, everything surrounding her seemed to dull and darken, and the volume of the chatter got smaller and smaller, until he could barely hear anything anyone was saying, as if he had earmuffs on. Barely paying attention to the pipe in his hand, he began to stand, compelled to approach her for unknown reasons. Suddenly he felt a strong vibration in his pocket, snapping him quickly from his trance. Sitting back down, he took a slow puff from his pipe as he opened his phone and saw he was getting a call from a number he barely recognized. He answered, connecting the call to the small, almost impossible to notice bluetooth earpiece.

"Hello, Dr. Schroeder Speaking, how can I help you?"

"Hello professor, my name is Christian and I am the head secretary for the Cornell board of directors. I'm calling on their behalf to check in and make sure that you have arrived in Washington, and that everything you should need has been accommodated."

"Oh, thank you Christian, and yes, I've arrived as scheduled and everything is going smoothly. Please let the Board know that my apartment is very comfortable, and that I thank them for their funding of this expedition."

"That's very good to hear Professor, though forgive me if I speak out of term, but I believe it is us who should be thanking you. It's very comforting to know that if anything can stop the end of the world, you are there to find it."

"Ends are rare Christian, and new beginnings are much more common." He said with a light chuckle, taking a short puff of his pipe. "Do let the director know that I received his Email, and I will be alerting him of any and all valuable findings, have a good day Christian."

"And you as well Professor, good luck." The gentlemen on the other end added, before ending the call.

Joel returned his phone to his pocket, grateful for the manner that professional phone calls tend to follow. Direct and concise, with little room for unnecessary information or awkward and prolonged endings. Sitting back in his chair and resting his ankle on his knee, he waited patiently for the "meeting" to begin.

Liam Matthews

Location: Jake's -> Town Meeting
Interacting With: Sutton Smith @Morose, Mitsukuri Katsumi @BlueSky44, Assorted Press Assholes

Glancing over to Sutton as she took his money and spoke up, Liam forced a smile and a chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'll try my best to not disappoint." He smiled, standing properly as he glanced over to the other woman, giving her a friendly smile. "I should probably head to the meeting, my boss'd have my head if I didn't get anything from it, so... It was nice meeting you both." He glanced to the clock before smiling widely at them both and moving to the door, pushing it open as he moved out.

Getting outside, Liam took a deep breath, running his hand over his face for a moment. That image came to his mind again, he had no idea what had possibly brought it on, maybe he hadn't slept well the night before? The bed hadn't been particularly comfortable and he'd tossed and turned a bit. Yes, he figured that must have been it.

Moving back toward the town hall, it was a brief walk and the crowd was large, though Liam knew there were certain perks to being a member of the press. Moving up to where the rest of the press was, he glanced to the generators which had been set up. A brief glance to his phone and the local news made it relatively clear that the hospital's generators were stolen. "Fucking parasites." Liam was not exactly a brave or noble man, but he didn't like cheaters, or thieves.

Moving to the generators, he switched them off one by one, watching as the press using them had their cameras and equipment powered by them shut off. As they all turned angrily toward him, he spoke up, clearing his throat. "How many different kinds of disgusting do you all have to be to take the generators from a fucking hospital? To leave people to possibly die because you wanted to get a fucking story?" He spoke calm, but with a surprising amount of weight behind his words, the glare he gave each member of the press could have burnt a hole right through them all. "Take them back, or i'll call for the cops, an ambulance too because of how badly i'll kick your asses if you don't." The look in his eye made it clear, there was no idle threat there.

Danica & Amy

Location: Parking Lot
Interacting With: @Sohtem & Idiots

"Well isn't that special," Amy said as she, with the help of Danica got Elizabeth up and started to head into the hospitals ER. The idiots seemed to be quelled for now thanks to Mrs. Holy Peanut and allowed the trio to pass without much of an issue even if they were keeping a close eye on Dr. Chang. Danica cringed a bit from the cramps as they made their way into the ER and followed Amy's directions over to a bed. "And what's wrong with you?"

"Spidey senses," Danica groaned as they helped Elizabeth up onto the stretcher and Dr. Chang started to take her vitals.

"What?" the doctor asked perking a brow slightly.

"Bad things normally happen when I get cramps," Danica stated flatly as she took a seat in a chair near the gurney and wrapped her arms around her mid section.

"Yeah, that normally happens for all women. Bad cravings, wanting to rip peoples heads off, a lot of blood. You know, the usual," Amy said as she pressed her stethoscope to the back of Elizabeth and told her to take a few deep breaths after instructing the nurse to get her a suture kit for the woman's arm. "Okay, now, give me some details on what happened."

Danica smirked a bit as she leaned back in her chair and dealt with the pain for now, though with everything going on her eyes were darting around worried about what may be coming around the corner next. Shew knew what her cramps meant but to actually say it out loud was a different story. There were still plenty out there that either didn't believe her when she told them or ended up freaking out like the people outside saying she was a harbinger of doom. Right now she really didn't want to deal with either of them.

Taking the hoodie off Elizabeth's arm, Dr. Chang took a closer look at the wound. Trying to assess how deep it was, if infection in general had already begun to set in, how much the wound needed to be irrigated before she could begin to stitch her up, and so forth. "Did a bear attack you or something?" Amy asked as she looked up from the claw marks. They didn't exactly look like Bear Claw marks but they didn't fit any other animal mauling she had run into in this area yet either.

Danica just bit her tongue, she had her suspicions, especially with the cramps getting worse, but she wasn't about to say anything yet. If she was right, then she really didn't want to say anything too loudly because of the way people would flip out and with the religious idiots outside right then, it could turn into a damn riot if she wasn't careful. For once Danica felt it was best to keep quiet until she couldn't anymore.

Joel Shcroeder

Location: Town Center
Interacting With: Liam Matthews @Pundii

Taking a few more puffs from his pipe, he held in place gently with his teeth as he stood, not wanting to worry about it unneededly occupy his hand. Buttoning his sports coat, he began to intently scan the crowds in search of the woman he saw just a few minutes prior. With little success, his eyes then began to scan for another person of his standard. He was fairly recognizable, especially given his signature "traveling" pipe, which was used explicitly during events similar to the one holding his attention. He assumed that their must have been other researchers attending, given that his seat was not the only one reserved with a name. Turning back to the chairs, he began to scan through them, wondering if their were any names he knew personally. While he was without such luck, he did recognize a few names from other conferences and things of the like, which would encourage the sight of a familiar face, if they ever showed up.

Turning back to the masses of commonfolk, all milling about and huddling together to whisper falsehoods, he resumed his scanning for someone to commune with. Failing to see much outside of the paranoid and terrified, he decided to walk about, hoping to yield better results. As he walked, his eyes fell onto the press section, taking note of the large, industrial generators, he presumed they would have been taking from the nearby hospital. Whether stolen or sanctioned was irrelevant to him, as he knew they would find a way to waste power on coverage regardless.

As he walked, he faced several judgmental, quizzical glances that he was far from unfamiliar with. His height alone could easily prompt such gazes, but in collaboration with the pipe in his mouth and his cool demeanor, he stood out noticeably so among the crowds of frantic civilians.

He attention returned to the press section as he watched a younger man power off the generators, then spoke powerfully to the surrounding and now attentive press members. Making his way towards them, he took a few long, deep draws from his pipe, smoking dancing from his mouth into the wind before dissipating slowly into transparency. Soon he could hear the final statements from the gentleman, whose words made the term gentle a bit ironic. He had seen many a threat of aggression in his time, primarily in New-York, and had found it was easy to decipher a bluff from a preemptive observation, and this young man stuck him as a user of the latter.

Observing the young man from a short distance of a few meters, he lowered his chin, nodding to him as he took another slow drag of his pipe.

Elizabeth Hawthorne

Location: Emergency Room
Interacting With: Danica Graves, Amy Chang @Lady Amalthea

Elizabeth groaned slightly when her fatigued body was moved onto the stretcher, not that she wasn't appreciative of the help, but her body just seemed to want to give up and lay there, but that obviously wasn't an option not if she wanted to survive this ordeal. She glanced between the doctor and Danica as they spoke, noticing how her cramps seemed to be getting a little worse, Elizabeth wondered if there was more to what was ailing her than she was letting on.

Elizabeth followed the doctor's orders and took a few deep breaths, though it was a bit difficult and she coughed when she exhaled them, her chest felt tight, almost like someone had set some weights on her. “Well I had went out for a run earlier today, through the woods and I thought that would be a good place to exercise then someone attacked me with multiple knives or something, I'm not really sure. I managed to get away from him when some other psycho came up behind me and put is teeth into me.” She responded when Amy asked what happened.

Her attention returned to Danica once more when she saw the woman looking around almost cautiously, did she perhaps know something the others didn't and did it perhaps have to do with her cramps, it was uncertain and she certainly wouldn't pry, especially not now when her wounds were still bleeding, but it might be something she'd have to ask when the time was appropriate.

She winced as she gritted her teeth when the hoodie was removed from her arm, flaring up her wound once more as the dark crimson blood was exposed to the air once more. Though Ellie didn't know it, thankfully the wounds weren't seriously deep, they'd just require a few stitches and there wasn't any real infection developing yet, all that would need to be done would be cleaning them and then stitching them up. “I don't if it was an animal or not, it was fairly dense in the woods and it's face had been shadowed, from what I saw, it looked like a man with horns or something, I just thought it was some crazy in a costume what with all the chaos going on outside.” She answered back to Amy.

Elizabeth soon found her eyes starting to get heavy once more, finding it even more strange now than before, sure the whole ordeal was exhausting, but even she knew that she shouldn't be this fatigued. She did her best to stay awake as she was being examined, her eyes closing for a few seconds before opening immediately then once more returning to their half opened state, “If you guys don't mind I think I'm gonna fal-” Her head fell to the side as she went unconscious, the culprit of both that and her sudden fatigue was her pulse rapidly beginning to slow down.

Elisse Mariselle

Town Meeting --

Elisse hummed quietly to herself as she watched the proceedings below. Being a ghost, this had caused some of the nearby living to glance around confused as they occasionally heard a hummed note from seemingly nowhere, but most appeared to have other things on their mind and promptly ignored it. Waiting around for the meeting was pretty time for awhile but as Elisse was just about to get comfortable, whatever that meant for a ghost, she witnessed a peculiar sight.

For a brief second, Elisse locked eyes with another woman and she saw a shimmer of silver in her eyes. It was enough to make this one individual stand out among the rest and the uncanny glimpse of this woman's eyes left even a ghost feeling afraid of the dark. Elisse wrapped her arms around herself as she jumped from her perch and landed silently onto the ground below. Curiosity was pushing her to at least see what the woman was holding. A picture, surely, but of who? But curiosity was a dangerous thing sometimes...

Elisse slowly approached the silver-eyed woman, step after step, Elisse thought she could still feel her heart pound as the woman became the only thing Elisse focused on. Once within a reasonable range, she came to a stop maintaining some distance from the woman. Elisse leaned forward, with no regard to the very real possibility that this woman might actually be able to see her, and squinted her eyes to try and fathom who was on that picture. There was a moment that Elisse thought she'd see herself on there but felt relieved when she discovered she wasn't. Instead it was someone else... A someone who Elisse could recognize but not name. A ghost usually never got the privileged of introductions, but she was fairly certain that this was the doctor at the hospital.

Zachary Carpenter

Location: Police Station
Interacting With: Vivian Adder, Various Police Officers

Zach watched, startled at what he saw. Her skin had suddenly changed right in front of him, and for a split second, he had thought that her eyes had turned black. He took a step backwards, but immediately regained his composure. He looked into her eyes, then looked away again. Her skin was strange, and was covered in blisters. Something strange is going on, and he didn't like that feeling. Her face was normal, but her skin was still all wrong.

"Sheriff, something the matter?" Vivian asked, walking her fingers up his chest. "You can trust me, Zachary... I'd never lie to you."

She was starting to creep him out, and he backed away again.

"Um, Ms. Adder, I have to leave, the meeting starts in a few minutes, and I have to be there. You might want to go see a doctor though and skip the meeting. I don't have anything for you to do right now anyway." he said to her, walking away and past a few officers.

He grabbed his car keys, even though he was going to walk, he never felt right without the sound of his keys in his pocket. The meeting was about to start, and he had to run it. Hopefully he would be the first one there so he could set things up. When he thought about it, he quickly left the station and ran towards the center. A few townsfolk were there already, but he could use a hand. Once everything was set up for the meeting, all he had to do was wait for everyone to show up.

Mitsukuri Katsumi

Location: Jake's
Interacting with: Liam Matthews, Sutton Smith

"So what's your story kid? I haven't seen you around before. I'm guessing you're from Japan?" the waitress asked her.

She looked up at her, and decided to try being nice to her. She didn't have any friends in this town, might as well try.

"Yes, I am. My family wouldn't really let me out of their sight, so I ran away on my own. I couldn't stand the stereotypes that existed in my hometown. Women were expected to stay home and take care of the family, and I did not want to live like that. When I came to America, I could not speak English, so my first year here I spent learning the language. I have not spoken to my family in 2 years, and with all that has been going on, maybe I should. Well, thanks for the coffee,"
she said as she pulled out her wallet and paid for it.

The meeting was going to begin, soon, and she wanted to go to it. The whole reason she came to America was to try and stop these strange beings. At the meeting she might learn something useful about them. Hopefully I can learn something useful. She walked out the café, and walked towards the Town Center. There wasn't anything else she could do but wait.

A few centuries ago, Luck was a fickle friend. The wheel of fortune would turn and turn, casting princes into ruin and paupers into fame. At any moment, one's luck could take a sharp turn, for better or for worse. Like a lottery, no one could truly control it, merely attempting to survive in the thrashing, violent rivers of fate and destiny.

Altsoba is no exception to this. The first victim has been claimed, and so has the first seal been broken. The horrors and monstrosity gripping the planet have come true, as when a righteous mortal is plunged into darkness and despair, so will the Cage of All Evil begin to break. Blood will have blood, so they say.

Blood will have blood. The Cage is breaking. Sutton Smith was murdered by one once of integrity and grace.

The apocalypse has begun, my children. It does not matter what you do, whether you are kind or foul. Your fate and destiny are unknown to all, with the threads ever spun and ever changing.

Welcome to the end.

@Witch Cat: Daniyal's burns and boils vanish, yet his soul has become tainted. As a witch, he was already heading towards hell, but he is now eternally damned. He has opened the apocalypse and caused the end of the world.

@Lady Amalthea @Sohtem: The press begin to return the generators, pouting almost as they arrive at the hospital. They almost dump them in the parking lot before speeding off, however, one of them has a remarkable similarity to John Moses. He was a travel writer who died just a year ago in a freak rock climbing accident. More alarmingly, however, is the fact that Elizabeth's wounds seemed to have....vanished. It was as if they were never there, and her heart has ceased beating. There's no pulse, and any attempts to revive her are futile.

@Morose: Vivian's body continues to deteriorate rapidly, her eyes constantly flashing black. She doesn't have too long. Better do something--perhaps abandon ship.

@Pundii: The press begrudgingly do as you say. One of them steps apart from the crowd and claps you on the back, smiling a bit with respect. You may notice the name on her badge reads Amelia Pilkvist--the famed anchor for World News Now. "That was good of you, Leo," she says, before walking off.

@Pirouette: The strange woman flashes you a grin, watching you glance at the photograph. "My master wants her blood," she explains with a whisper, her form almost fluctuating. She seems almost blurry, clearly not human. "Have you seen her?" she asks, with a toss of her hair.

If your characters were not mentioned above, events have either been PMed to you or you are safe....for now.

Sutton Smith

Location: Jake's
Interacting With: Death

Sutton finished serving Mitsukuri, and wiped down the counters one last time. She waved to the Japanese woman as she left, and went about securing the cash register. The Town Meeting would be starting shortly, and afterwards, practically everyone in town would be coming to Jake's.

She also couldn't deny that she was hoping the reporter would come back. He wasn't too hard on the eyes, and his accent was practically to die for. Smiling softly to herself, Sutton locked up the cash register, and took off the tiny apron around her waist. She hanged it on a hook, glancing into the mirror, only to see someone else staring back at her.

"Sorry, sir, we're closing up," Sutton apologized, turning around to face the grey man.

There was no one there.

Pulling her pistol out from underneath the table, Sutton undid the safety. Slowly, she walked forward, making a careful inspection of each spot of the dinner. Nothing stood out to her. All of the tables were the same, and nothing hid itself underneath them. The fans continued to remain off, with the light outside serving as a decent alternative to the electricity. The jukebox in the corner, however, sprang to life, music playing from it.

"This isn't funny!" Sutton shouted. "Show your crazy ass or I will shoot!"

There was no answer.

Glancing into the mirror, Sutton saw the frayed hand in front of her face. She shot two rounds quickly, only to have them hit the wall. Through the mirror, she saw the hand grip her, and by an invisible force, she was suspended in air. Boils and burns quickly covered her, and in an instant, she fell to the ground. Her hair and clothing remained in tact, but otherwise, only a charred corpse remained.

The sign at the door still indicated that Jake's was open. The food for the lunchtime rush was still heating up. On the walls, the clocks were stopped at precisely 11:45 AM. Only the burnt and destroyed body of Sutton Smith revealed that anything happened there.

The first seal had been broken.

The Reverend and the Sheriff

Location: The Town Meeting
Interacting With: The Good People of Altsoba

There was something wrong with the Reverend's daughter, and there wasn't anything he could do right now. The mayor left everyone all alone there, so there was no one else who had any authority in the town. He had to be at that meeting, no matter what. Zach knew he had to run it, but maybe he could get the Reverend to help him. He probably knew more about this than anyone else.

He got into his car and headed to the Town Center. A few people were already there, along with a news crew. They had somehow gotten a generator in with them, allowing them to film and broadcast the meeting. He scanned the crowded square, eventually finding the Reverend. He waved at him, and motioned to the crowd, shrugging a little. Once everyone was in the square, Zach walked up to the front, meeting up with him there. Everyone quieted a little, and looked at the two off them.

" Good afternoon everyone!" he said to the crowd of people, "As most of you know, there have been several problems over the past day, and these incidents involve the whole town. Several of the town"s citizens have left so far because they are fearful of what is happening in the town. I have Reverend Adder with me, who has thankfully agreed to help with the meeting, since he knows a lot of what is happening here. Now, I"ll turn things over to him, and see if he can shine some light on what is happening here".

The Reverend stepped forward, his hand folded neatly on a gilded bible. The spine didn't have a single crease or crack in it, as if it had never been opened before. Stepping behind the podium, the Reverend set it down, and folded his hands neatly. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

He paused, scanning the crowd. "That's Jeremiah 29:11. In these perilous and fearful times, I take a special comfort in that. God has a plan for us-- God has a plan for us all. He is not condemning us to fear. He is not causing these disasters, these famines, these attacks... These are perils made by us."

Glancing down, he placed his hands on the podium. "Who are we to question God? Who are we to sin, and declare it is in God's name? We must have faith in the Lord, for if we have lost that, then the apocalypse has truly come, and Satan's children shall run the Earth."

Bowing his head, the Reverend offered a prayer, before taking a step back, done with his theatrics.

"Thank you Reverend Adder for that. Now everyone, we need to remain calm about this. We need to prepare for whatever comes our way. There is nothing more we can do, so stay calm and keep going about your usual business if you can. We need to stand together when the time comes, so stay on guard. If you notice anything strange, be sure to let me know at the Police Station. " he said.

A young forensic tech came forward, Cecily was her name. She tapped Zachary on the shoulder and whispered something in his ear. His face grew grim, and he turned to her nodding silently. She walked away, and he let out a sigh, turning towards the crowd once more.

"Alright, I have some very grave news concerning our mayor. As most of you know, he was in the last group to leave town. His body was found in the woods, not long ago. It appears that he was killed by a grizzly, but we will be investigating into this don"t worry. Currently, the next person in line to run the city is me, since everyone between the mayor and myself in the line of command has decided to leave town. If anyone has any questions, now is the time to ask." the sheriff said, stepping back from the podium, and waiting for the onslaught of questions.

Joel Shcroeder

Location: Town Center
Interacting With: Himself

Having failed to make contact with the young reporter, he turned and moved back towards his seat. Glancing upwards, he saw the sun moving slowly towards the horizon, soft hues of pink and orange beginning to reflect off the atmosphere, creating a bouquet of gentle colors in the evening sky. His pipe, still in his mouth, was slowly trickling a smell of warm spices and subtle wisps of smoke, which caught the malevolent attention of several other passersby, many a quizzical look was directed towards him, none of which showed any immediate aggression, but more so curiosity. He moved his hands behind his back, holding them together lazily as he continued walking, nodding at the occasional eye-contact of others in his proximity. His eyes turned to the stage, and the hurried movement behind the podium alerted him that the meeting was soon to start.

Reaching his seat, he sat down, resting his ankle on his knee again and resting his hands in his lap, occasionally lifting one to his pipe to tamper down the slowly forming ash with his thumb. After a few minutes of patient waiting, he watched as two gentlemen approached the podium and microphone, one clad in a uniform designating himself as the sheriff, and the other in dress-casual attire, likely to be explained as relevant shortly.

As the two men talked, he watched them closely, observing the Anxiety in the sheriff, and the contrasting display of serenity from the man identified as Reverend Adder. Unsurprised of the religious influence in the town, he listened to them carefully, less than astonished at the observably vague manner of speech they both toted. A keen observer would easily be able to see that despite their standings on the social hierarchy, both men had little idea of what was going on in the world around them, and wished to avoid a direct classification. Understandably, given the circumstances, it was unlikely that either man would state directly that they believed this to be the coming of the end-times, as that would result only in an encouragement to the pre-existing state of hysteria and confusion.

As the Sheriff concluded, and asked for questions from the crowd, he saw a young man move towards the front and flamboyantly asked a question regarding the "supernatural" influences of the last few days. Shaking his head disapprovingly, he looked down to his lap, appalled by the young man's stupidity and selfishness. He had absolutely no regard to the drastic impact a question of that nature would have on the already terrified masses, and was clearly only asking to be spiteful and creating a further degrading environment of hostility and general discomfort.

Turning his attention to the Sheriff, he waited for a response that would hopefully de-escalate the environment surrounding and focusing on him.

Danica & Amy

Location: The ER
Interacting With: @Sohtem (Kind of), A Ghost (?) & Idiots

"Well, I have heard of men being pushy in the past but that is fucking ridiculous," Amy said under her breath as Elizabeth explained what had happened. Danica nodded a bit, letting a slight smirk form on her lips as she leaned back in the chair next to the gurney and tried to stay out of the way for now. The doctor seemed to have everything under control and sure Danica could have left now that she had done her good deed for the day, maybe she would get a girl scout badge for it; The Apocalypse Good Samaritan Award, hell of a thing. Might even come with a two week vacation to limbo for a break from the seventh level of hell they seemed to be trapped in right then.

Everything seemed to be okay, that was until Elizabeth decided it was a good time to pass out. Danica perked a brow as the monitors started to beep, showing that the woman she had helped to the hospital was flat lining. Standing up slowly before Dr. Chang grabbed her by the shoulders, spun her around and shoved her out of the room to make room for the staff. Danica stumbled back, shuffling her back onto her shoulder a bit as she was told to go to the waiting room.

"We got a code people!" Amy shouted as several nurses came rushing into the room. "I need a crash cart!" the Doctor yelled as she got to work.

Danica glancing around as she pressed her hand to her mid section and sighed a bit. Maye it was a good time to get some fresh air. Turning she made her way through the dim lit area of the Emergency Room until she was able to find the door and walk out into the parking lot. Taking in a deep breath of fresh air and glad it was heavy with the smell of bleach, blood, and antiseptics. Stopping she watched as the generators for the hospital were being returned, maybe it was the day for good deeds? Maybe not, because Danica went white as a sheet when she swore she had seen someone that looked like someone that was supposedly dead not but a few feet from her. "John?"

Back in the ER, Amy worked to try to revive Elizabeth but it didn't seem to be getting her anywhere. Eventually just calling it and telling the staff to move on to someone they could actually help. Grumbling under her breath she went to remove the oxygen mask and stopped as she noticed; the wound she had been tending to her before the girl's heart had stopped beating... was gone. "What the fuck..."

Vivian Adder

Location: Police Station ---> Town Center
Interacting With: Zachary (briefly) @BlueSky44, Police Officers, and then the Media Crew

"Um, Ms. Adder, I have to leave, the meeting starts in a few minutes, and I have to be there. You might want to go see a doctor though and skip the meeting. I don't have anything for you to do right now anyway."

Vivian laughed, her eyes switching black and staying that way. She stalked forward, watching as the sheriff frantically ran out of the station, as if she'd spooked him. It wouldn't be all too surprising if she had. Reaching up, Vivian tugged on her face, bits of skin and pus ending up on her hand. With all the grace of a five year old, she wiped it off on the walls of the station, before making her way over to the front desk. The officer manning it looked back at her, with a cold sweat.

"Y-You're...."

"Go on," Vivian snickered. "I don't think there's much point in hiding it anymore, hmm? Shame the dear old Reverend isn't here. I've been dying to pull out his entrails."

"Get b-back!" the officer panicked, reaching for his gun. Vivian continued to advance, pulling her own gun out in turn. "We could play Russian roulette!"

The officer aimed his weapon, and fired. The first bullet hit Vivian in the chest, yet it hardly seemed to phase her. He fired again and again, each bullet hitting her, each spilling her blood, each entirely useless. Eventually, the officer had depleted his gun of rounds, and he frantically attempted to scream for backup, but it was no use. It was like a dream, or a nightmare, where it was impossible to make the slightest sound. The guard was petrified.

"The word you were looking for earlier was demon, doll," Vivian cackled. "I know this meatsuit isn't as pretty as it used to be, so you'll forgive me for making this quick...I've got to go shopping for a new one."

Aiming her own gun, she shot the guard in the head, watching as his pathetic body slid to the floor. Blowing on the end of the gun, she plucked the bullets out of her chest, throwing them each to the ground. More of her skin came off, more and more grotesque looking by the minute. She tilted her neck from side to side, cracking it gently.

"Hmm, who to use up next....?" Vivian murmured, a smile playing on her lips. "Who better than the old Reverend himself?"

Snapping her fingers, the windows at the station shattered. Enjoying the drama, Vivian vacated the station, putting her gun inside of her pocket, as she headed towards the center of town. Her plan was rather simple: abandon the now useless corpse she was inhabiting, and then, make herself at home inside of the dear old Reverend.

It was divine irony, and she loved it.

The walk, fortunately, was a relatively short one. She stood behind the press blockade, waving cheekily at a few of the reporters and crew who made the mistake to look at her. Her entire body was decaying, the skin falling off in clumps, and on her left arm, the light of day shined on her bone.

"Hello, boys," Vivian greeted with a coy smile, her eyes blacker than night. "Penny for your soul?"
