Ghoul is pretty aimless and has a tendency to wander I imagine. Could just be a casual bump into each other sort of thing. I'm sure they'd really hit it off.
Ok, so you want me to do a post first and then you reply?
@Fallenreaper I think my character would have been exposed to an explosion in a tour of a huge lab called Neo Tech. (Couldn't think of a better name, don't judge me.)
Character Personality: Mozart, as the oldest of his siblings, is the most patient and thoughtful of the group. He has a strong sense of honor, believing that without one’s honor they are nothing. He is a strong leader, though at times loses his sense of confidence, worrying that he is not fit to be the leader of the team. He loves human pop-culture. He loves his family more than anything in the world, and his devotion to them is paramount.
Legend says that the early days of man were when the veil between our world and the next was the weakest. It was then that man and god spoke freely, before humanity turned its back on its protectors. Whether that is true or not is a debate for scholars, but one story rings true.
In the land of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, a priestess of Amun-Ra named Kemsit was banished from her post for performing unnatural experimentations. As she wandered the desert, she came across an oasis that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Its twisted trees and murky water were bathed in constant shadow, and its grass was black instead of green.
As she walked among the inky blades, a great eye wreathed in black tentacles emerged from an overgrown shrub at the center of the oasis. As Kemsit approached, the eye spoke to her, “Hello, lost one.”
“Who are you?” the priestess asked.
“One who will lead you to what you seek,” the eye responded with a hiss. “You seek the power of the gods. We will give you it. And together we will rule all of reality.”
The eye went on to explain that it was a member of a pantheon stronger than any she had ever seen before. Its name was Sha-uggha. But its full form and its brothers and sisters were stuck in their world, and without a means to travel to ours. If she helped them, they would grant her everlasting life and a place at their side. With no other option, and a thirst for revenge, she agreed. In return, Sha-uggha granted her a sliver of his own power.
Using the shadow one’s power, Kemsit enthralled an army to her dark will. Using this force, she attacked the Pharoah’s palace, where Sha-uggha said the connection between worlds would appear if she completed her tasks. Her army fought with ferocity, but in the end she was foiled by four of the Pharoah’s great warriors. While her army was destroyed and her chance to make the world in her new masters’ image had failed, Kemsit managed to escape again.
She once again communed with Sha-uggha in the dark oasis. While he was furious at her failure, his time in our world was short. He granted her more of his power, and the ability to transfer it to others. He commanded her to prepare, for there would be another time where they could cross over.
Kemsit walked out of the Black Oasis as it contorted and disappeared into nothingness.
From there, she built their church.
Integrated Dimension Research Group had become one of the world’s leading scientific research think tanks seemingly overnight. Lead by the brilliant but brusque Director Dyer. Dyer’s unbridled ambition and slave-driver mentality turned IDRG into an overnight sensation. Multiple scientific breakthroughs came from the think tank, but that was not their true intention.
Dyer and his secret teams worked hard on questionable projects. Only the most trusted were allowed to see them initially, but as the director’s influence spread to those around him more and more became influenced by his megalomania. Bizarre weapons tests and biological experiments became more frequent, while their normal output of marketable advancements became little more than a front.
All their efforts led to the beginning of Project Metamorphosis.
The project’s goal was to create the perfect army by altering the DNA of animals to make them nearly human. The animal soldiers would be completely subservient to their masters, and their enhanced mutant abilities would make them unparalleled on the battlefield.
Through mutagenic compounds injected into the blood and brain, IDRG hoped to accomplish their tasks. Once the mutants had grown, they would be hooked up to a supercomputer that would give them the fighting capabilities they would need to fulfill their mission. Live combat tests against other subjects would come next.
Unfortunately for IDRG, success was slow coming. Round after round of trials were permutated, lasting years. Failed subject after failed subject were disposed of, and Director Dyer began to crack. Most didn’t notice, but those that did were worried. If such a brilliant mind was cracking under the stress of his genius, what chance did they have?
Their fears were relieved when four frog test subjects finally began progressing exactly to desired specifications. Four frogs, each a different species, started growing to human size, as well as showing signs of human-like brain functions. Immediately they were started on the combat training. Their growing bodies were attached to teaching supercomputers and force fed combat techniques and battle strategy. The process was painful, but their creators did not care. They finally had their success.
During the year after their “birth”, the siblings did not communicate with one another in English, the one disappointment in the eyes of their “masters”. Little did the IDRG scientists know that the frogs understood and spoke English perfectly. But instead of showing that to the scientists, they spoke to one another with their frog croaks and bellows.
Still, they had grown in size, now at their maximum potential. Mentally, they were college-aged, so the scientists had stopped the mutation treatments. Due to that, they would stop their enhanced aging.
The oldest of the four, a Grey tree frog, began coordinating with the others on an escape plan. They could no longer stand being the tortured lab rats of the IDRG. They considered each other their brothers and sister, and they would not leave one another behind.
Using his ability to camouflage, he would lure a guard into his cell. He would then incapacitate the guard and free the third sibling, who was the biggest and the strongest. While he was distracting the guard reinforcements, the first would free the other two, and they would make a bid for freedom.
Once on the outside, they would make a home, and together they would fight for their freedom, and prepare for the coming darkness they were made to combat.
Hero Type: Acrobat
Power Level: Street level
Powers: Art is a mutated, anthropomorphic Grey tree frog. The mutation that gave him his human-like form and intelligence also enhanced his animal abilities. Art and his siblings can climb nearly any surface, jump incredible distances, have increased proportional strength, speed, agility, dexterity, and a slight healing factor. Their frog tongues can be used to both traverse the city and as a weapon unto itself. Mozart also had his natural ability to camouflage amplified, allowing him to blend in with his environment.
During their youth and time at IDRG, the siblings were hard-wired and taught multiple forms of combat with the intent of making them living weapons. Mozart is a practitioner of the bo staff, his non-lethal weapon of choice after their bid for freedom.

Supporting Characters/Places of Interest:
San Maria, CA - San Maria is a progressive and growing metropolis, though is rife with corruption. Its defining landmarks are the IDRG Tower, the Bayside Bridge, and The Rock, an old prison set on a small island in the Bay. A former Spanish outpost, the city’s population exploded during the California gold rush and during the building of America’s railroad system. Thanks to that, the city is incredibly diverse. A devastating earthquake nearly destroyed the city in the early 20th century. In the recent decades, it has become a haven for tech companies, culminating in the arrival of the IDRG.
Pinebluff, CA Located across the bay from San Maria, Pinebluff is a much rougher town. Virtually run by the Bayside Bandits, Pinebluff has a history of violence and gang related crime. While good people live in the city, they are constantly living in fear thanks to the conditions of the city.
Professional Sports Teams San Maria Prospectors (NFL) San Maria Colossus (MLB) San Maria Serpents (NHL) Pinebluff Gladiators (NBA)
Mayor John Sterns - Mayor of San Maria
Commissioner Jeremy Jackson - Police commissioner of San Maria, also works on a joint task force to help clean up Pinebluff.
Mayor Janine Garcia - The beleaguered mayor of Pinebluff.
Clara - The second oldest of the siblings, Clara is the smartest of the group, possessing a genius-level intellect. Before the mutation, she was a Golden Poison Frog. Clara prefers to use brains over brawn, though is a formidable fighter herself. Clara designed and built the Frogs’ lair, tricking it out with every modern convenience they could need. Art and Clara butt heads often. Clara fights using a war fan. She also has the ability to secrete a hallucinogenic toxin when necessary, though this tires her out if overused. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_poison_frog
Ludwig aka “Lud” - Lud is the second youngest sibling. While he is not the sharpest tool in the shed, he is the largest and strongest of the siblings. Lud was a an African Bullfrog prior to the mutation. He is a gentle giant with those that he cares about, but when angered he can enter a berserker rage that is a danger to any enemy. He and Bach are inseparable. Ludwig rarely uses a weapon in combat, but when he does he dons a Tekko in each hand. These Japanese-style brass knuckles make his already powerful strikes devastating. Ludwig’s hide is also thick, allowing him to survive stab wounds and small caliber arms fire. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_bullfrog
Bach - The youngest of the frogs, Bach is a trickster and a prankster. He acts out as all youngest siblings do, but he knows when he needs to focus during battle. Still, he’s more often than not found mocking their opponents on the battlefield. He uses a kunsari-fondo, or weighted chain, in battle. Bach, as a Dyeing dart frog, is able to secrete a paralyzing poison. Like Clara he is unable to use this power often. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyeing_dart_frog
Angel Akilah - A college journalism major and the first human outside of IDRG to ever have contact with the post-mutated frogs. Angela is invaluable to the team, feeding them intel when needed. She’s also their window into the human world, teaching and showing them what it’s really like to live amongst humans. She has an Egyptian heritage, and may have a connection to the Eye.
More coming soon.
A secret society that dates back to Ancient Egypt, The Eye serves an unknown and unseen group of eldritch gods. They work to bring about an apocalypse and new world order in which they will live amongst their dark deities and rule the universe.
Naga - A Japanese shadow warrior and the current leader of The Eye. Naga’s life has been extended by The Eye’s unnatural magics, and he is more shadow than man now. His followers believe he is the one to lead them to their promised land. He is one of the greatest hand-to-hand combatants on the planet, and his combat style is complimented by the dark power flowing through his veins.
Kemsit - The first priestess of the Church of the Eye, Kemsit is kept alive by the same unholy doings that have extended Naga’s life. While she does not have the tactile genius nor the fighting prowess of Naga, Kemsit has the strongest connection to the dark dimension their gods reside in. Her body is crumbling through her eons of life, held together only by black magic.
Kaea - A legendary hunter and mercenary from the South Seas, Kaea is the leader of The Eye’s black ops hit squad.
More to be added to this list.
The IDRG is a mysterious and powerful think tank whose base of operations is inside Bayside. They appeared nearly overnight two decades ago, well finance and well equipped. They have an unspoken stranglehold over the city, though to most they are a beneficial entity. Their technological advancements have made Bayside a seemingly glittering metropolis. In reality, it’s nothing more than a facade over the rotting city. Still, IDRG has kept the important people happy, which is all that matters to them.
Director Dyer - Head of the IDRG, the enigmatic Dyer is the driving force behind the project that created the Fighting Frogs. He holds a dictatorial sway over the think tank, and his word is final.
Doctor Edith Whateley - A biologist and member of the project that created the Frogs, Edith is secretly a spy for The Eye.
Doctor Morris Dyson - A brilliant engineer and computer scientist working for IDRG.
The Bayside Bandits are the premiere crime syndicate in the twin cities. Nothing illicit happens in the town without them knowing about it.
El Bandito - The leader of the Bandits, El Bandito is said to be ruthless and cunning. None have ever seen his face, as it is permanently covered by a luchador mask.
Crash and Burn - The Bandits’ top enforcers. Crash and Burn have a reputation for a high body count and maximum collateral damage. Still, they strike so much fear into the hearts and minds of the police in the area they’re give a wide berth.

Sample Post
The white, sterile lights above him turned on at the same time that they did every night before final inspection. Normally, the blinding brightness would force him to cover his eyes, but tonight he was ready. There was a plan to carry out, and he was its most important piece. If he failed, his brothers and his sister would never get out of here. That was something he could not allow. Even if he died tonight, he would make sure they escaped. They deserved the happy life he promised them.
Reverberations from the footfalls of the guards reached the sensitive pads on his hands and feet. He steeled himself, ready for what was about to happen. He had the training in his mind, but he had never really used it before. A momentary flash of self doubt entered his mind, but was erased by need. He couldn’t afford to be nervous.
The guards stopped in front of the door to his cell. They looked in, seeing him where he normally was. They then turned back to the keypad to swipe in. When they did that, the frog concentrated and activated his camouflage reflex. His green-grey skin turned to the color of the white, antiseptic floor below.
“I can’t believe I had to work this weekend,” the one guard moans as the door begins to open. “But at least it got me away from my kid’s recita-”
“Where the hell is he!?” the other guard yells as the frog’s camouflage does its job.
He swipes out with his leg, catching the first guard with a sweeping kick. The man slams down hard on the composite floor. The second guard tries to retreat from the room to lock it down, but the frog lets loose with his tongue. The long, sticky appendage caught the second guard’s ankle, and with a whip-like motion from the frog’s head, the man came flying back into the cell. The frog delivered a hard clothesline to him in midair, and his helmeted head cracked against the floor, knocking him out.
The frog took the guards’ keycards and made his way towards his larger brother’s cell. Before doing so, he locked the first two guards in the cell he had spent his entire life.
Once he reached his destination, the frog swiped the card through the slot. The door slid open, revealing the hulking, green mass that was his bullfrog brother. The first nodded to the second, and they went to work.
I hopefully will have a post up tonight for the Pax story arc. Maybe by the end of the week we can wrap things up, or at least the things in West Virginia.
TMNT...oh, I mean the Fighting Frogs are accepted.
It will be interesting to see the interaction between the FF (animals made more human) and a certain drider (human made more spider like). Also, I have an idea that I need to get past NMS that might be of interest to the Eye.
@Dedonus You didn't mention the little preventative measure White Witch took before she went to help Joseph so I can either void it or mention it in another post maybe? It's not a big deal because I only briefly mentioned it in my last post but I wanted to draw everyone's attention to it nevertheless.

It's funny, because when I started the CS they were a much more 1:1 comparison. As it stands, personality-wise they are very much stand ins for the Turtles, but the stuff I have planned is hopefully a radical departure. Lots of Lovecraftian weirdness, mutant uprisings, interdimensional travel, and Egyptian mythology inbound y'all. Haha.

Sounds good, just let me know.
Also, how close are we to starting season 2? If it's imminent, I may not start posting till then. But if I have a few weeks I can get through my introductory arc.

I'd say we're probably a few weeks out from starting season 2. We want to wrap up the 2 large arcs that are going on currently and then give everyone a bit of time to wrap up season 1.

Okay cool. I can get started then. Is there going to be a time gap between seasons? Or will it pick up right where we leave off?

There will be a time gap. I think we will have a 3 month time jump (we are current in late-February/early-March). That would place us in June, I believe.
