Holt was binding Silver Sorceress's spell in order to elongate the casting process so that Marie and Joseph could hopefully catch up to the people of Pax and stop her spell outright. War-Pulse wouldn't have done anything to Holt but . . .
IDEA! Since her spell was thrown off, it probably startled Holt before he had a chance to bind her spell again, but being that he is a being of magic and her sleeping spell couldn't effect him anyway, he could sort of envelope a few of the heroes and protect them from the spells effects. Who those heroes are would depend on who was closest to the blast, but that could be an interesting way to keep the fight going. Then, once White Witch rejoins the battle, she can undo the spell on her comrades and hopefully the ones Holt blocked were able to deal with whatever villains were left. How does that sound?
