Sophia Danvers

As she took the Pokeball containing her Gothita from the machine, Sophia noticed a new person approaching - a girl draped in even more frills than she wore, and carrying what looked like an elaborately decorated mic at her waist. A Snorunt followed behind her. As the newcomer taunted both her and Oscar, Sophia bristled.

"Excuse me?" she said. "Didn't you see how easily I beat him?" Ok, so it had actually been a close call... but even so, she'd won. That was what mattered, wasn't it? "And who are you calling a common person? You didn't see what I did just before the match, did you? Watch this." Taking three empty Pokeballs from her belt, she threw them in the air and made them float around her.

One of the remaining Pokeballs at her belt opened, unleashing a newly-healed Gothita. The Pokemon stared in her direction. "Ah!" Sophia's headband slid down her face, breaking her concentration. The Pokeballs clattered to the floor, bouncing across the tiles. "Gothita! What did you do that for?" Pushing her headband back up, Sophia set about gathering up the Pokeballs while Gothita giggled.

"She does this," the trainer sighed as she straightened up. Oscar, beside her, was whispering something to his Torchic. Before Sophia could say anything else, Oscar had challenged the girl to a fight. This would be... entertaining. A fire type versus an ice type? It was obvious how this was going to go.

Alexis laughed at the boy's attempt to challenge her (much to Snorunt's relief), and the girl's attempt to impress her on a different level.

"Oh, please. What do you think I am? A child?"

Alexis continued to speak in her bright, high horse tone of voice.

"I just told you that you have the potential to lose to me on a later date, I'm not going to accept your challenge now, when you haven't met the qualifications."

Alexis tilted her head and grinned, then proceeded to put up three fingers before extending her arm forward.

"When you and I have three Pokemon, then I MIGHT consider letting you lose to me.

Rheese watched everyone from a chair in the Pokemon Center. Apparently Wooper was perfectly fine, none of the nurses had any idea of what may have caused him to disobey Rheese's order to return before. "We're supposed to be partners, and I'm not even sure if I can reel you in if you lose it like that again." The Pokeball containing Wooper didn't even wobble in response. Rheese was almost certain that Wooper felt almost as bad about the whole thing as he did. "It's not like I'm blaming you for getting amped up like that in a battle, I mean one of us has to." The ball shook slightly this time. "But that doesn't mean you're off the hook. Next time this happens I'll jump in and pull you out of the battle myself."

It was around this time that Rheese noticed a battle almost break out between an oddly dressed guy and the guy with the Torchic. Before anything happened though, the girl backed out making a fairly obvious excuse. "Y'know, you could just admit you're at a disadvantage, there's no shame in that. That flimsy excuse though, you even said that you might accept his challenge, what if he's still got the upper hand? Are you gonna you say he needs six?" Rheese asked with a slight chuckle.

"Thank you for coming to the Pokémon Center. Please feel free to relax and enjoy our in house refreshments. We hope to see you again soon." She said with a smile. Alex smiled back, but he still felt uneasy from what happened earlier from before. He clipped Beldum's Pokéball back onto his belt, and grabbed two plastic cups with ice water. "Here," he said handing one of the cups to Alex and sitting on the chair next to him. "Any word on what might have happened to Wooper? I've never really seen a Pokémon disobey its trainer like that." He said thinking about what happened earlier.

"And also, don't take it so hard on yourself. I'm sure it had nothing to do with you. Wooper was probably just eager." he hoped to give a reassuring word to the trainer next to him as he took a sip of the cold water.

"Nothing, apparently the nurses couldn't find anything wrong, and since none of them actually saw it happen, I guess there's not much for them to go on." Rheese said with a sigh. The Pokemon Center smelled like a hospital to him, and that alone made him feel slightly sick. "I won't let that happen again though, he could have really gotten hurt. Maybe if we'd actually prepared before coming here...Still, you and your Beldum seemed to work pretty well together, a flying type gym like this town's should be a piece of cake for you guys." Rheese said trying to change the subject.

Oscar laughs at the new girl. After finishing laughing, he stares at her intensly "What qualifications? As far as I know, you could have no badges like me and Sophia here which means you are a novice like us. Besides you only have one pokemon, like me. So I say again, I challenge you to a battle.

Roadrunner jumps out of Oscar's arms and lands on the floor on his two feet. Roadrunner chirps in agreement with his trainer. 'wow. RR is really hyped.' Oscar thought

Sophia Danvers

Sophia stood there, speechless, for a second. How dare this girl laugh at her? First Oscar had called her skills a party trick, and now this? How many psychics had the newcomer even met, anyway? "Wh-What?!" she spluttered once she could bring herself to speak. "Oh come on, admit it, that would have been impressive if Gothita hadn't messed it up." Gothita rolled her eyes at the trainer.

What was this? The girl had just backed out of Oscar's challenge... Now it was Sophia's turn to laugh. "Seriously? You're just that sure of yourself, huh? So it has nothing to do with type disadvantage at all?" She folded her arms. Her usual contemptuous smirk spread across her face. "It's almost a shame. Your face would have been a picture."

When the buss stopped inside the town, the simple thought on Kero's mind was 'Finally' as he let out a deep sigh and lifted his somewhat sore behind out of the seat. The Eevee that slept in his lap hardly awoke, and Kero held out his arms gently for it to slip into so that it could continue to sleep undisturbed.

He then slipped his backpack over one arm before stepping outside. He took a deep breath as the air outside felt surprisingly fresh after such a long trip. He smiled slightly and yawned as he stretched as much ad he could while holding the Eevee. He then started walking, and went straight to the park where he felt he could just relax and enjoy the sunshine until his Eevee awoke.

He gently laid Eevee down in the soft grass and in the shade of a tree. Then he stretched again as he laid his bag down nearby and walked around it a few times. Once he felt refreshed he just let out a loud yawn and laid down on the ground with his arms stretched out fully to the sides. It would be a very good place to take a nap... And honestly he was tired.

He glanced to his Eevee again before joining it in the shade, there he sat down and pulled out a egg from his backpack, he took it out of its incubator to rub it a few times while smiling then he put it back inside and placed it next to him. After that he laid down using his backpack as a pillow... Then he would slowly shut his eyes and just relax.

Snorunt was sweating bullets. These three trainers were all working together to goad Alexis into accepting the challenge. Not only that, they had begun attacking her pride, which meant...

Snorunt shook in fear as she looked up to her trainer. Alexis was smiling just as she did before, but the Pokemon could feel how angered she was.

"Fine. If you're all that eager to see him lose to me, then I'll just have to oblige.

"Sno?!" cried Snorunt in shock. "Snorunt! Snorunt!"

Alexis picked up Snorunt, and headed outside the Pokemon center...only to return inside, and say,

"Maybe it's better if you lead the way."

Nyxx Hollow

Nyxx’s eyes were open and looked completely aware of her surroundings, but her brain was off at the moment, a technique she had long since mastered in her early. In her brain she was still going to flip the pokeballs for cash because everything Kyle suggested sounded like some extracurricular activity at her school she only joined because she had no choice. Her consciousness was returned to her rather quickly when he snapped his fingers, her mother did the same thing to her so her body was nice and trained to react in this way.

“I dreamed I was a butterfly” she whispered under her breath before her brain caught her back up to speed with current events “If we just battle one another we our Pokémon won’t get much experience; we should challenge the other trainers just to expand our horizons” Nyxx said with a surprising amount of insight looking back at the other trainers sizing them up. Funny enough, there were a number of battles already taking place, thus ruling out them as potential opposites as they would want to allow their Pokémon to take a rest. “The Pokecenter seems to be a good place for us to plan out our next move both our money and food problem” Nyxx explained everything at a million miles one wonders where she could go from couch potato to this in no time flat, she started to walk out of the door before turning back to her new teammate “There are a couple exits to this town we can catch and train Pokémon in tomorrow”

Kyle Arabian

Kyle sighed rather loudly."Ugh battling other people sounds like so much effort. Not very much fun either." Kyle put his left hand in his pocket and used his right hand to pet treecko on the head, who was still perched on Kyles shoulder. Kyle thought back to when he first entered the professors lab, which wasn't too long ago so he could still remember all the details. He remembered how everyone had looked at him, with judging eyes and disapproving thoughts. It isn't like kyle didn't get why mostly. He was late and filthy and wet. But Kyle knew better. Even if he had came in early and clean the other trainers wouldn't haven't given him the time of the day. People are selfish and dicks. Which is why Kyle usually prefers to be solitary. Only two people have proven him wrong though. The first was Treecko. the second was Nyxx. She didn't look at him and judge him badly. Kyle remembers the trainer with the jacket. He seemed like the biggest dick and didn't want to run into him again. Its why he suggested other things do instead of going to the pokemon center that it seemed everyone else was headed to.
"Alright Miss butterfly we will go with your suggestion. I don't like fighting anyway,"Kyle said with a shrug, "Hey do you think we can fly there on your back butterfly it could probably save us time."Kyle chuckled at his little joke but secretly hoping he didn't offend her. he had that habit even though he doesn't mean to offend people. usually. "alright just so you know I'm in this state because I got lost. I do that pretty often actually. So if we need to talk to anyone I can do that I have one of those faces people just cant stop saying go away to. But I will be relying on you for the sense of direction. Unless your sense o direction isn't any better?"

Snorunt wondered just how she got herself into this...well, not really. She knew how she got into this, she was just wondering how she let Alexis accept the challenge. She stood in front of Alexis, looking defeated in an emotional sense. Meanwhile, Alexis acted a bit different than before, speaking in a much more cheerful voice.

"Alright! Now we'll see how good you really are! Let's go, Snorunt.

Snorunt just sighed in response, and looked toward her opponent...who happened to have one of her weaknesses. Yay.

Oscar and Roadrunner take a battle stanec,just like the ones they did earlier with Sophia. "Okay RR. Use your speed and attack with ember" Roadrunner nods, sprints forward towards the ice type pokemon and sprays out flame from his mouth.

Snorunt would've jumped at how fast the Torchic if she hadn't been hit by the embers first. She managed to take the brunt of the attack, but even Alexis saw that a second hit like that would take her down.

Alexis smiled nonetheless.

"Ready, Snorunt? Show him how we play! Double Team!"

Snorunt grunted in compliance, and jumped into the air. When she landed, there were several more of her. Snorunt may not be as fast as Torchic, but she was still fast enough to create afterimages.

"Let's see how well you do, here! Can you figure out which one's real?"

Oscar smiles with intruige. Double team was good option to go for a novice but not good enough. "RR, run around them and focus ember in the middle to hit as many as possible." Roadrunner shot off , faster than before, encircling the Ice type and shots flame towards the centre.

Alexis shook her head and scoffed. Though the afterimages were hit, the real Snorunt was fine.

"Let's make sure they can't hit you. Double team again!

Snorunt complied, and even more afterimages appeared.

Oscar knows that his opponent's double team will not keep her safe forever. Oscar feels good about this battle's outcome. "RR, do the same again. I know we can win this time,pal. It is just a matter of time." Roadrunner is panting lightly from his second 'light' workout of the day. He chirps in agreement. He sprints even faster and shoots out flames towards the center of the circle he is making.

Alexis laughed as the embers missed again.

"Time to swarm him! Double Team one more time!"

Snorunt complied, and now a small army of afterimages could be seen.

Roadrunner is panting but is quite unfazed about the amry in front of him. Oscar is proud of his little champion, having to fight so intensely. "Let's end this, RR. This is the one I can feel it. Do the same as before." Roadrunner shoots forward at a blur and uses the same tactic as before.

Alexis shook her head once again, thinking that Road Runner's attacks would be useless from here on out.

"Alright, Snorunt. Let's stop playing around. Use Powde-huh?"

Somehow, even when confused about the true location of Snorunt, the Torchic's attack connected.

Suddenly, the afterimages disappeared, and Snorunt was on her back, eyes swirled. Alexis and Snorunt lost the battle...They lost...THEY lost.

Words could not express how angry and shocked Alexis was at the moment. There should have been no way for them to tell which one was real, unless...

Alexis giggled, and then burst into laughter.

"Congratulations! You're definitely not what I thought. With your luck, you're definitely on your way to being worthy enough to lose to me!"

Nyxx Hollow

Nyxx was still wired randomly walking upright, eyes more aware than usual, even the way she talked was more enthused if one didn’t know any better this could have been a completely different female. She was so amped she didn’t even notice Kyle’s comment about her being a butterfly; running outside, she stopped right in front of the lab, put her hands on her hips and looking upward like she had just triumphed over a great obstacle. Taking in a deep breath, she disturbed her bunny Pokémon resting in her hair at first Buneary was going to pound her head, but once she saw her trainer was ‘up’ it jumped off and landed next to her looking quite determined and full of spark as per the usual. Nyxx took out her trainer card something she didn’t even give a second take when she first picked it up and held it up to the sky.

“With this I am finally a real trainer!” she proclaimed with her Pokémon mimicking her, this moment of explosive energy was ruined when her card was stolen by a rather pillowey looking bird “The hell?!” She yelled, looking at the Pokemon that had just plucked her trainer card from her grasp, it then landed on a street light. “Would you mind giving me that back, I kinda need it, ” she asked, approaching the bird Pokémon who started to peck at its wing and flew off ignoring Nyxx’s plea. “Why that poor excuse for cotton candy get back here!” She screamed, running after it swiftly followed by her Buneary right behind her.

Shouting and yelling for the puff ball of a bird to come back Nellz picked up a rock and hurled it at the bird knocking it on the head. This angered the creature as it turned around and landed squawking at Nellz, “Heh easily angered huh, well bring it!” Nyxx said calling her Buneary into action. Before she started the battle in the first place like any trainer Nyxx took out her pokedex and scanned it;

‘Swablu has light and fluffy wings that are like cottony clouds. This Pokémon is not frightened of people. It lands on the heads of people and sits there like a cotton-fluff hat’

Sophia Danvers

"Ha! Just as I thought!" Sophia shouted as the battle concluded. The ice-type had actually put up a better fight against the fire-type than she'd expected, but she wasn't going to admit she thought that. She turned to Oscar. "Though don't let it go to your head. Remember how you were no match for me."

Her confidence was evident on her face as she looked at Rheese. "Yes, that's right. You wanted to know how the battle went? It was all too easy for me. If things keep going this way, this journey will be no trouble at a-"

"Sophia."

Sophia's eyes glazed over. The sudden voice in her head was like a cold touch, sending a shiver through her. "E-Excuse me just a moment," she muttered to the other trainers, turning away from them.

"Sophia," her mother's distant-sounding voice repeated. The link between Sophia and her family members was usually stronger, clearer than this, but then again, she'd never been this far from them. "I assume you're strong enough to hear me, even in Kosei. I hope I'm not mistaken."

The words stung, as usual. "I can hear you, Mom," Sophia replied in her head. "Guess what? I had my first match earlier, and I won."

"Oh, well done." Each word dripped sarcasm. "A beginner level battle. How very promising. You know, it's going to take you more than just luck to get anywhere."

Sophia's sense of triumph vanished like sunlight masked by clouds. "I know, Mom..."

"You understand why I got you to travel so far, don't you?" The young psychic had to strain to hear the message. "This way, it's harder for us to communicate. You're a big girl, Sophia. You can't rely on me and your father any more. Now, you're on your own. When you come back, you can tell us all about your journey. Make us proud."

"I will do..." Sophia clenched her hands into fists by her sides. "I promise you, I will."

"Good," came the sickly sweet reply. "You love and respect us, don't you? Prove it. After everything we've taught you, you'd never be so inconsiderate as to disappoint us, would you?" Sophia winced.

"Would you?" The tone took on a knife edge.

"No..." Sophia answered. "No, I wouldn't."

"From the day you were born," her mother continued, "I had a feeling you'd grow up to represent the family well. But we both know the future isn't set in stone. So, make sure you don't prove me wrong."

"I'll prove you right, Mom." Sophia braced herself for the reply. Nothing. "Mom?" Still nothing. Her mother had blocked her out without so much as a goodbye. She took a deep breath to control her shuddering, her high spirits utterly deflated. Gothita looked up with concern, placing a stubby hand on Sophia's leg. Regaining her composure, the trainer forced a smile. "I'm alright."

She raised her head, acting as if nothing had happened. "So... Who wants to look for Pokemon?"

"Ooo..kay?" Rheese said with an eyebrow raised. "Just going to assume that was another psychic-ey thing and move along. Nice job winning by the way."

Rheese let Wooper out of his Pokeball, the small Pokemon hopped and stretched his legs before looking up to Rheese with some concern.

"I really don't know much about this region, but it would definitely be a waste if we didn't at least snoop around for some Pokemon before we left this place." Rheese said tapping Wooper's head to which he playfully attempted to bite Rheese's finger. "And besides, we definitely need to check out the gym before we consider leaving."

Kyle Arabian

Kyle gave a gigantic sigh and sat down Indian style on the ground with his hands supporting himself. Kyle wondered if any of hids words were even getting through to this girl. Kyle wondered to himself if this behavioral pattern was going to be repetitive during this entire journey. Kyle looked up to Nyxx when he heard her shouting about being a real pokemon trainer. This made Kyle smile slightly. While he was lazy and pessimistic she was energetic and just a giant bright ball of positivity. Although Kyle Nearly took it back when he saw the swablu steal the trainer card right from in between her fingers. Kyle coudlnt help it. He rolled around just laughing out loud, laughing harder than he had in awhile. By the time Nyxx had scanned the new pokemon with her pokedex.Kyle stopped laughing, mostly, and did the same with his. After Kyle had scanned it, which said the same thing as what Nyxx pokedex said, Kyle stood up and walked over to his new partner, with treecko walking behind him swiftly.
"Well I personally believe this hilarious turn of events is a sign. This is your fight with Swablu but Treecko is here to help," Kyle said while putting a hand on Nyxx shoulder hopefully making sure she was paying attention if she wasn't, "Treecko and I will aim for the Pokémon Trainer card, you aim for beating the shit out of it. Before you say no rememeber that card isn't made of adamantium it will break if you hit it too hard. So the plan is this, you distract it or make it move, I snatch it, you kick its ass and catch it if you want."

Oscar picks up Roadrunner, throws him in the air, catches him and repeats that a few times. Roarrunner chirps happily. After a few throws, Oscar puts Roadrunner back on the ground. He then turns to his opponent and smiles. "Luck is just one piece of the pie. Whene1 you take a risk in life, luck will always be involved. All I can is to improve the odds in my favour as much as possible. You will be a good trainer as long as you train hars. Just be more humble next time or the next person won't be so forgiving. Let's be friends."

While Psychic girl went and had a migraine, Alexis walked over to Snorunt, and picked her up.

"I guess I was pushing our luck, huh?" whispered Alexis.

"Sno" the Pokemon whispered back.

"You did great, Snorunt. They just got lucky."

As she started walking back into the Pokemon center, she stopped when her opponent spoke to her. He gave words of wisdom to them, as a show of respect, apparently. Of course, both Alexis and Snorunt raised their brows.

"Wow. You sound like one of those old guys that say the obvious, trying to sound wise."

"Snorunt", said Snorunt in agreement.

"Don't think that you getting lucky means that you can lecture me. Now if you'll excuse us, Snorunt's gonna rest."

With that, she and Snorunt entered the Pokemon center. As soon as Snorunt was all healed up, they wee going to find other Pokemon.

Nyxx Hollow

Buneary and the Swablu continued to fight being that the Pokemon they were fighting was a bird and constantly had the height advantage made fighting the blasting thing a total chore. Thankfully, her Pokemon was a bunny and had the hops meeting it eye to eye for a pound, making this fight bearable and slightly more fair, what didn’t help was Swablu knowing Featherdance. Buneary had its attack lowered so much that it became near impossible to defeat it, but that didn’t stop it from trying, jumping and flipping off the lamp post landing another weak pound. The force from Nelz’s foot sent the cotton ball into a nearby bench as the fight moved into the park with many people circling around as an audience.

“That’s it Nelz don’t give up defense curl” she shouted as Buneary blocked an incoming peck from the pokemon “Now counter with Pound” she commanded flinging her arm outward holding a Pokeball and as Swablu was nailed and sent flying towards her, it was then pelted with the ball capturing it rather easy being that it was so weak.

“Oh yea, I’m awesome” she shouted, holding up her newly caught partner “Think I’ll call you Lupin” she said smiling looking at the ball in triumph

With all that taken care of now the energy she used to initiate that fight and chase even catching the Pokemon in the first place was tiring. Old Nyxx came back with her eyes, droopy and half dead look as if she were falling asleep on her feet.

“Now I’m bored”
