Maoin and Sol

The kitten frowned slightly as Lady Gwynn responded and refused to take the sword back but resisted the urge to go after her before Nitsa began speaking.

‘Lady Gwynn didn’t want a servant, she wanted a friend.’ … then what of all the times Lady Gwynn had openly admitted to not wanting a familiar - her in the first place? Before she even had a chance to prove herself? And besides it wasn’t as if they couldn’t be friends at the same time, right? The cat glowered slightly at the woman but listened as she spoke without any response.

Nitsa’s words of departure hurt but they rang true. It probably was best for her to leave Lady Gwynn alone in their care. As Nitsa left with a twirl and a flirtatious comment the cat had no reaction and simply felt empty.

She didn’t think Nitsa was a bad person and at one time she would have been thankful for the honesty … but she already knew everything that had been said aside from understanding the depth of Lady Gwynn’s guilt.

Obviously she was thankful for how her former mistress had helped her out with the demon. And she honestly wished she had served her prior owner better. But that didn’t mean she was simply going to tell Lady Gwynn what she wanted to hear. “I’m so happy with my new mistress and am glad to be alive! I don’t hate you and am glad you created me! Let’s be just friends since all my romantic desire is gone!” But it’d be a lie, and after crying in Luna’s arm a week earlier the cat had realized that it wasn’t her job to alleviate any guilt her former owner felt with any sort of deceit. There was more than one way to stand up to someone.

The cat turned tail and left ears low to her head and tail pointed towards the ground as she began to walk through various celebrating people on the way home. She needed to talk with Lady Sorcha as well, but she was likely already at the dance. For now she just wanted to lay down in bed and sleep for a bit.

Of course, people didn’t always get what they wanted and Maoin was hardly an exception to that one. ”Kitty!” A small girly voice called out as the cat felt something impact her from behind again.

As she fell over from the “assault” she’d hear another voice, likely she’d recognize both of them anyhow. ”Solana, it’s not nice to jump on people from behind. I told you already.” A male voice to be sure.

”But Percy, she looks sad. Hugs are good for that, right?” Sol said as she gave Maoin a big hug.

The kitten let out a slight yelp as once again she was knocked to the ground but for the most part remained still as she recognized the voices. ”It’s fine, any friends of the Lightsword family are friends of mine. And thanks for your concern, Solana, but I’m fine.”

In spite of herself the girl had been somewhat effective, the cat’s ears lifting just a bit as new life made its way around her.

”Ehhh? But I am a Lightsword now. Effectively.” Solana said as she stood and looked down at Maoin. She was just so cute. It was likely the cat ears, but they were just really cute to Sol. She couldn’t help but reach down and pet the catgirl’s head. She had an overly happy but dumb look on her face. Percy just stood back, quiet.

Maoin tried to resist the urge, but eventually she started to lean her head back and let out a happy purr as she enjoyed the attention. Maoin eventually managed to get enough self control to respond before returning to enjoying the pettings. ”Lady Solana, corr- mewwwww?”

Sol eased a little on the pettings but didn’t completely stop. ”Ehh? What? Corr-- “Corrupting”? “Correcting”? What were you trying to say?” Solana asked, somewhat confused. It was hard to understand what the cat was trying to say when she stopped actually talking halfway through.

Maoin’s tail went back and forth and she let out a small contented sigh as the pettings continued. ”Correct, Lady Solana. I apologize for not speaking clearly.” Of course, she didn’t feel bad about it. It was difficult to feel bad when a nice hand was rubbing your ears.

”I mean, there’s nothing to feel bad about. As long as you’re feeling better than I’m happy.” Sol said as she continued. ”Ahh, but, weren’t you at that dinner thingy? Is it over already?” The girl had to ask.

Maoin frowned slightly as the dinner was brought up. ”I … I had to leave early.” She contemplated saying more, but in truth Marie’s threats managed to get to the cat and she remained silent. ”I was just heading home so I could prepare the place for Lady Lightsword and my mistress Lady Sorcha when they finish the dance.”

”Oh, yes. The dance was tonight. I’ve wanted to see Luna, but I’ve yet to actually do so. Would you mind if we tag along with you?” Percy asked, looking to Maoin.

Sol nodded, ”Oh yes! I’ve been wanting to meet Luna too. Stories only go so far.” Her pettings intensified a bit as she thought about it.

Maoin was once again rendered unable to respond to either of them as her legs even moved and her tail and ears twitched happily as the pets became too intense for her to handle. ”Mreooooowwww”

Perhaps she wasn’t useful, but at least the girl was happy. Lady Solana was quickly ending up on her favorite persons list.

”Sol, she looks happy, but it’s a bit difficult for her to answer like that.” Percy said, pointing to Maoin’s intense movements.

Sol pulled her hand off for a second when she realized the cat’s movements. They were both in a little fantasy-land it seemed. ”Ahh, I guess ‘sorry’ isn’t quite the word you want to hear…” She put her hand back on the cat’s head and start to pet softly. ”But, uh, yea. What were we talking about?”

”Miss Maoin taking us back to the dorm she shares with Luna and her familiar.”

”Oh, right!”

Maoin pouted slightly as she returned from that bliss back to a normal sense of awareness. Still though, she realized that Lord Percy was right. After looking around for a couple of seconds to make sure her surroundings were still the same the kitten stood up with a smile. ”Yes, I apologize my lord and my lady! Let me lead you home.” The cat began to walk before taking a look over her shoulder. ”Are either of you hungry or require assistance in preparing for the evening?”

”I’m feeling fine!” Sol proudly said before her stomach grumbled a little. She obvious needed something. She really couldn’t deny it either. ”I, uhh, could use a little bit. Maybe.”

Percy laughed at this a little bit before answering himself. ”Ahh, yes, I could use some myself. Oh and please, just call me Percy. It’s what just about everyone calls me. “Lord” only really belongs in diplomacy.”

Maoin frowned slightly before responding. ”I can prepare a meal for you both then.” The cat began to lead them back to her house, opening the door for the pair of them and letting them in while sitting them down at the table while she went to the kitchen and began to do her work obviously a little cheered up.

”I apologize for my memory, but what brought the pair of you here again? Aside from seeing Lady Lightsword, that is?”

”Honestly, father brought us along. I hate to admit, but he dotes on Luna a bit. She was the only girl born to our mother so he played a bit of favorites. To be fair, I think we all did a bit.” Percy said as he sat down. ”She turned out a great kid, so I think it works out quite well.”

Maoin nodded. ”I’m sure your father is pleased to have a new lightsword then?” The kittens eyes drifted over to Lady Solana. ”But I think all of your family has turned out well from what I’ve heard. But I’m glad all of you watched over here … but she isn’t a kid anymore, you know?”

”Heh, I’m well aware of that. Though, she’ll always be a kid to me.” Percy joked a bit. ”She’s been more than capable of taking care of herself since she was little. I’ve never been too worried about her.”

Maoin nodded. ”Well, I’ve been taking care of her for now. She never leaves a large mess at least and she seems to appreciate my cooking!” The cat continued her work as she focused on her subject. ”Is there anything I can get the pair of you to drink?”

”I think we can both do with just water, if you’re offering.

”Water is fine…” Sol said, seeming to want something else, though she really wasn’t sure what she wanted herself. ”So, you live here with Luna and your ‘mistress’?”

Maoin brought over two glasses of water for the pair of them before returning to her work in the kitchen. ”There you two go. Yes, I live here with the pair of them and they are both very kind to me. My mistress is the grand dragon Lady Sorcha and as my owner she usually keeps me fairly busy. But she is kind and generally prevents the work from becoming too much, although she does enjoy a good pampering.” The cat’s thoughts drifted to the harsh scrubbing her owner enjoyed every time they took a bath.

”Oh yea! Luna has a dragon familiar. That’s really interesting! I’ve never seen a dragon before. Is it majestic?” Sol had to ask.

Maoin gave off a big smile. ”She’s pretty and majestic and wonderful and amazing! Maybe you could convince her to turn into her dragon form - oh I can’t imagine how wonderful that would be!” It was rather obvious that Maoin was quite the big fan of her owner. ”She has these wings that are wonderful to be wrapped in though. Quite the safe place to take a good nap in.”

”Oh! That sounds fun! I want to try!” Sol excitedly said. She was hoping she had the chance tonight! She’d stay here tonight one way or another! ”So, what are you making to eat?”

Maoin finished preparing the meal in short order. ”Nothing too complicated, ma’am. Just a simple thing devised in Leinster known as ‘pizza’. Apparently it’s a national favorite there.” The cat pulled the ‘pizza’ out of the oven and placed it on the table in front of the pair before giving them a smile. ”Eat as you wish!”

”As you say.” Percy said as he looked over the ‘pizza’, contemplating how to eat it properly. Sol merely yelled in happiness and grabbed at one of the sliced pieces and took a bite.

”This is really good!” Percy looked at her behavior curiously but imitated her.

”Oh yes, quite so!”

Soon enough, the food was finished. It was interesting and nothing they had ate before. ”It’s really good! Kitty!” Sol said with a smile across her face. ”You said it was called ‘pizza’ right? That was interesting but good.”

The cat looked over at the two as she enjoyed the meal as well. It was a good thing to know the nobility of England also enjoyed such a traditional Irish dish. ”Thanks Lady Solana! I try my hardest to replicate the recipes from home even if I haven’t made them in a while!” The cat looked towards Lord Percy with a degree of interest. ”Do you plan on spending the night in St. Sappho academy? I can offer to let you stay here for the night …”

The kitten suddenly had a thought. ”What does your father think about Lady Luna liking girls … doesn’t that make succession interesting?”

Percy had a look of shock over his face a bit before mellowing out a bit and scratching his head. ”Ahhh, well, as I said. Father dotes on her a bit. It wouldn’t bother him much. Still, I suppose more than that it’s been fully confirmed then?”

The cat nodded. ”I mean even I get a little flustered when I see a cute guy. But Lady Lightsword looks at them as if they aren’t even there … then again, I’ve been trained to be flexible like that.” The cat paused for a second. ”But perhaps it is just a phase for her? Someday she’ll settle down and have a family?”

”I’m not entirely sure. She’s never really had a problem being around males. I… Had my suspicions though, considering her actions into her mid-years. She always seemed to shy away from maidens it seemed.” Percy joked a bit, ”So, I’m not too surprised if that ends up true.”

The kitten looked over at Percy with a smile. ”Yeah! Wouldn’t surprise me - I best Lady Sorcha appreciates the attention at least!” For a couple seconds the smile remained on before it fell just slightly. ”Although I haven’t been so lucky. My owner doesn’t want to get involved with me like that and any other attempts have been futile.” The words hung in the air for a few seconds.

Percy went silent himself, studying the cat for a couple of seconds. Sol didn’t really follow the conversation much up until now, though the look on the cat’s face. She stood and tugged on Percy’s arm. He looked at her with a confused look, thought she rolled her eyes and walked over to the cat and hugged her. ”Well, if they’re not ‘getting involved’ with someone that can make such good food, then they’re dumb.” The child said.

Maoin’s expression dropped suddenly as she realized what just transpired. ”O-O-o what?!” The cat looked down at the child seemingly confused. ”My-my lady, aren’t you a bit too young to be talking like that!?” It was rather apparent the cat was utterly embarrassed.

”What? ‘Talk like that?’ I don’t get it. Don’t you just mean they’re ignoring you?” Sol asked. She was so confused. What did she mean by that?

The cat looked over at Lord Percy, begging for aid.

Percy didn’t know what to say either. He just looked at the cat as if saying, “I don’t know.”

Maoin frowned dramatically as she looked at Lord Percy as if she had been betrayed. ”I … I was just talking about getting pets from. Y-yeah! No one ever pets me!”

”Ah, yea, that makes sense…” Percy said shrugging. It was good to clean up your own messes. Right? It built character. Or something.

”You don’t have anyone to pet you?” Sol asked , trying to make sure.

”Y-Yep! Exactly!” Maoin nodded several times. Nope, she never got petted. Not by her mistress, not by the knightess. Nope, no one.

Sol made a frowny face as her hand reached to the cat’s head. ”I can change that!”

The cat put her fingers together. ”Oh I mean I’m not supposed to ask for them or anything so its-”

Sol just pet Maoin again. ”Ask for what?”

The cat pressed her head against Lady Solana affectionately. ”N-nothing! D-don’t worry about meeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwww” It was rather apparent Maoin enjoyed the girl’s company at this point.

Percy put his hands together, ”Oh my, I forgot. I needed to speak to father. Miss Maoin, would you be able to watch after Sol for a bit?” Percy asked as he stood. ”I think she’d enjoy spending time with you.”

”Oh really? Well, I don’t mind staying here.”

Maoin simply nodded into the pets unable to respond and simply bobbed her head slightly and let her ears and tail twitch. ”Ooooooaaaaaahhhhhkaaay.”

Percy nodded and stood. ”I’ll see you later Sol.”

”Ok, bye bye!” Sol said, waving bye to Percy with her free hand and continuing her petting of the cat.

Unless Lady Sol decided to start another conversation she would see Maoin’s eyes close as she continued to be pet and her body gradually move to slower breaths aside from her ears which twitched happily with contentment despite her gradually joining the realm of sleep.

When the others returned they would see Maoin taking a nap with her head resting in Lady Solana’s lap purring due to some combination of sweet dreams and the pleasant state she was sleeping in.

~Gwynn and Nitsa~

"Gwynn!"

No response.

"Gwynn you will cease ignoring me or so help me I'll string you up by those boots you like so much and let Ritsa use you as a plaything."

"...sorry." She fell silent again as she sighed, finding a stone bench in the gardens near the headmistress' house and taking a seat on it. "Just...thinking."

"How about instead you do what you're good at and not think, hmm?" This earned a grunt from Gwynn as she folded her arms across her chest, frowning as she leaned against the edge of the fountain. "Tsk, Gwynn darling why are you so difficult." The princess took a seat next to her, leaning on Gwynn with her shoulder. "You are not cruel and the kitten is absolutely ridiculously wrong. I nearly wanted to smack her for her foolishness. What sort of person can't even tell a little white lie to make someone - even someone they no longer associate with - feel better. That was crueler than anything you could have ever done to that cat. It served no purpose other than to make you feel bad. That cat is sorely lacking in the empathy department."

Gwynn didn't say anything, merely looked to the ground as Nitsa's arms wrapped around her.

"Listen, Gwynn...it is not your fault the way things turned out the way they did. That kitten should be ashamed of what she didn't say. I certainly didn't expect her to be happy with the events that transpired, but calling you cruel? You did what you could the best you knew how. You needn't beat yourself up over it." Silence followed, nothing but the sound of a gentle breeze and a cool night between them. "The cat still doesn't understand, and I doubt she ever will understand what you wanted. Or she does, and she doesn't care. She is a special kind of selfish that I myself have trouble understanding. Which is saying something, considering my own reputation." She laughed.

"...Gwah!"

"Oh quit glowering and kiss me already you silly thing." This earned a laugh from Gwynn.

"Please, the only way I'd kiss you as if you-mmmfah?" Before she could say much else, Nitsa was practically on top of her in her lap, smiling impishly as she placed a hand on Gwynn's mouth.

"Shush you. 'Tis my first time seeing the sky, you know...such a beautiful thing, this moonlit. I won't have you ruining the moment for me."

~Start of a new month~

Sorcha - Miren - Marie

The festival passed without further incident.

Time passed, and the weather turned colder, the season of fall well under way and starting in full. Most people would probably be enjoying the fall colors and changing of the seasons. The cool air, the crisp crunch of leaves under your feet as you walked. It was the perfect time for a trip or vacation, to see the world and otherwise get out and do something new. Most people.

"Ahh~" The silver haired demon sighed. "This cold air is really bothering me." She giggled from where she stood, looking towards their destination. "Tsk, nothing like the warmth of the underworld. Hey hey, dragon we there yet?" Sorcha simply glared at Marie, and didn't give her a response. "Ah?~ Is the little lizard upset with me still? Hehe, I have to say that your cute face is angry. If my mom wouldn't give me a hundred years in the dungeons I'd love to make you my plaything." Sorcha growled. It was clear that unless someone did something the dragon was very likely going to turn this little demon into a crispy dragon snack.

"OOf...K-katherine? Eerm, I know this is supposed to be a little field trip and whatnot for the students...or at least, on the surface. A-are you sure we'll find things related to Eith here?"

The place in question, was in a quiet countryside of France. Mountains loomed in the distance, with a colorful light forest decorating the scenery. They were almost at their destination - they had spent a few days traveling on foot to get to the place. An old, ancient castle that had seen far better days. It was absolutely massive, and completely overgrown with plant and wildlife now. Miren had her own reasons for coming of course, and that was because of the promise she made to Eith. For whatever reason, whatever happened to Eith had happened here.

Despite the problems of the previous day and her near cat-napping by Marie and her confrontation with Lady Gwynn. Who was now married. The cat's eyes drifted down to the sword she carried ... that she had tried to give back. The girl let out a sigh, and a frown crossed her face. Perhaps it was irrational but she didn't want it anymore. She'd ask Lady Sorcha to get rid of it soon.

Lady Sorcha of course wasn't particularly happy with her either though. When she'd woken back up from Lady Solana petting her the cat found herself remaining silent on the issue of Marie. Partially because it was embarrassing. Partially because she didn't want the dragoness to be disappointed in her. Partially because she wanted to be tough enough to handle it on her own. But mostly because she was afraid of something bad happening to her mistress.

Of course the dragoness had found out anyways. She had given her enough time to fess up on her own and when she hadn't the Radiant Queen's anger was boiling the very air around them despite the appearance of civility she forced herself maintain ... after some post dinnertime discussion Lady Sorcha finished up her lecture with a degree of disappointment. "Why didn't you tell me? You are mine, and if someone hurts you, you are to tell me. I don't care how strong you are or how brave you think you are. I am here for you if you need me, Maoin. Remember that."

Lady Sorcha had stalked off after that looking like she was ready to murder Marie and Maoin for the most part hadn't really talked to her owner outside of questions required due to the nature of her work since then and otherwise had done her best to slip into a silent background and keep her mouth shut. Lady Lightsword seemed to do a good job of keeping Lady Sorcha from going ballistic at least whether or not she was aware of the circumstances.

The cat's mind snapped back to the present as she nearly tripped over a rock her foot went over. After recovering, she took a quick look around her. She was trying to stay far away from Marie and Lady Sorcha although she kept herself within earshot in case either one of them needed her.

Maoin looked around at the companions around her to see if any of them had anything to say. Or more importantly, pettings to give. She had forgotten if Lady Solana was allowed to come with them ... and if she was, where was she?

Meowka had for the entire trip thus far done what she did best: remain in her little cart. The cat let out a couple soft purrs from the blankets that she had hid herself beneath in hopes that those pesky dolls would lack the perception to be able to find her. For a couple moments she woke up and took a cursory look around the little enclave she had set up in one of the supply crates. Comfortable, warm, and most importantly - lazy.

It didn't seem like she had anything to do for her mistress anyways, although the cat would have preferred to stay home and guard their territory. She'd come out if she was called on ... possibly ... probably not.

Meowka soon returned to sleeping as if she had never woken up, enjoying a pristine cat nap. She dreamed of the dancing that she and the archwizard had done during the night of the festival ... and found herself with a smile on her face.

It was a long travel-time and for the most part, Eith stayed near Miren and silent. Katherine was fairly chatty, trying to keep morale up a bit... Well, keep Morale up as much as she could. She really wanted to talk to that dragon, Sorcha, but found she was a bit.... Irritated from the demon that traveled with them. From what she could gather though... It was understandable. Still, the girl wasn't repenting like she should be. It was a bit on the annoying side.

"And yet, here you are. Traveling with this rag-tag group of do-gooders." Katherine said as she walked to Marie and put a hand under the girl's chin to raise it so they would meet eyes. "I don't care what you do, but don't think I won't raise a hand against you if you get in my way. I care little if you're a demon, human, elf, dwarf or frog-man. Now, be a good little girl and think on what got you here today and maybe quiet up before you pull the wrong lever and become Dragon-made charcoal." The Puppeteer removed her hand from the girl's chin and turned back, walked towards Miren who had asked her a question.

"Now, to answer your question, Bunny-Buns dear." Katherine said pulling out a piece of parchment. "There was a bit of collective research on my end. I had to go through a couple of channels... Do a few things. Ask here and there... But I think I have the answer we're looking for. The place at least. Old creepy castle in the middle of nowhere that seems out of place... I think it's our mark, but you and Eith are going to be our deciding factor on it."

Meanwhile, Luna was still trying to get use to Solana. Her new adoptive sister? It was odd to her, having a sister. Especially one that seemed to look up to her like Solana did. Luna held the girl's hand as requested and answered plenty of questions along the way. "--and that's how Sorcha and I met."

"Ohhhhh, that's fun. So you two fought and all?" Solana asked before she let go of Luna's hand and ran over to Sorcha who looked a little irritated. "Hey! Dragon-Lady!" She hesitated for a moment before grabbing the dragon's hand and dragged her back to Luna. "So you two fought and became good friends after that?!" She asked Sorcha, looking up at her expectantly.

~Ancient Castle: Exterior ~

Sorcha - Miren - Marie

"I-I see." Miren replied. "Really, thank you Katherine." The rabbit smiled, hopping over to Eith. "See? We might find something!" She gave Eith an excited pat on the shoulder. "Isn't that great?" Of course, the mood just had to be ruined by a certain demon of pride.

"Oh?" Marie smirked, turning to Katherine. How insulting. Marie inwardly grimaced, especially as she was touched by this filth. Blegh, she should be back at Sappho or some other neanderthal place setting herself up as a little queen. Since the jousting tournament, she had easily made herself up as a little celebrity. Being out here - among this...filth was far beyond her. Tsk, if she hadn't had her Arsenal taken from her by her mom she'd just turn this castle into her own little palace where she was the empress. "Aha, I'm so scared of an third-rate human mage." Her smirk turned into the most infuriating over confident, smug grin that was possible for a human. She positioned herself right in front of Katherine, literally getting 'in her way'.

"You almost sound like you think someone as weak and pathetic as you has a right to tell me to be a 'good little girl'. That would be funny, if it wasn't so sad how delusional you are about your place in this world." She gave a dismissive shrug. "I wonder how good of a plaything you'll make? You certainly seem to like being that womans pet."

At that moment, Sorcha had almost done as Katherine said and turned Marie into charcoal. Before she could though, her hand was grabbed by Solana, earning a surprised grunt from the dragon as she was pulled away from the scene. "Grwuh?" She made a surprised, somewhat annoyed growl as she was pulled aside by Solana. Right...there was a kid here. She couldn't let herself be controlled by anger so easily...even if ever ounce of it was justified. Marie had threatened something that was hers. She shouldn't even be breathing any more...but she had managed to contain herself.

"Ahem...yes." Sorcha replied to Solana with a soft chuckle, patting the girl on the head. "Luna gave this dragon quite the beating, heh!" She grinned. "Though, if I was even at half my normal ability Luna would have been a tasty little snack for me...but I'm glad she was able to beat some sense back into this little dragon."

By now, the group was finally near enough to see the large castle. It rose high above the forest around them, the ruined walls clearly overgrown even from this distance.

The kitten looked up as she noticed Lady Sorcha had separated herself from Marie at the behest of Lady Solana. The kitten let out a small sigh of relief and she was glad that the bodies hadn't started piling up yet. After a moment's hesitation the cat approached behind her owner's heels as she waited for either her or Lady Solana to notice her. She couldn't hide forever and ... Maoin gave a hopeful look over towards Lady Solana and twitched her ears slightly ... and maybe one of them would be happy to pet her.

Of course the massive structure in front of them was likely going to distract the younger noble and Maoin was ready to pounce in case the girl started running off spontaneously inside. It wouldn't be good for her to be separated from the group and she doubted the young lady would be too disappointed if she was stopped like that.

Otherwise she was content to listen to them talk. Maybe Lady Sorcha would start talking about one of her tales - the dragoness always seemed cheerful when she did that.

Eith nodded at Miren's words. "Yes, thank you... Katherine." The Shellagh said.

"Ahhh, you can be cute too, mutt." The Puppeteer teased before the interruption by Marie. She was quite the infuriating creature... Much like her mother when she "asked" Katherine to... Keep an eye on her. Eith grabbed Miren and pulled her back to the other part of the group, wanting the two to not be involved. Meanwhile, Katherine just wanted to show this girl who was boss. A doll came out and swiped the demon's legs out from under her and retreated. It did it in such a way the demon would have landed face first in the ground. Katherine, of course, just kept walking. She stepped quite heavily on the demon's butt.

The Teacher forcefully widened her eyes, imitating shock. "Oh my! Dear little Marie. Did you trip? You should watch your feet if you're clumsy. This castle is likely to have a lot of loose stones and things littered everywhere. She didn't care enough to help the girl stand either.

Now then, to answer some questions. "Now then. Livia's pet?" She had to ask. Well, probably. She might have meant Myrilla's but, well, that wasn't true. "No... I'm not her pet. Apprentice? Yes. Though, if you want to think I don't know my place in the world... Well, I'd say it's higher than yours. You can try some mind altering special magic on me if you want. I'd bet you couldn't succeed in anything relating to me, even if you could do such a thing."

Meanwhile, in the back, they were mostly ignoring the shenanigans of Katherine and Marie. "Tasty little snack? Uhhh, Luna Cakes?" Solana asked. "That doesn't sound really good." The girl added with a slightly disappointed face. That is, until the castle came into view. So did Maoin. She finally decided to bring herself out. "Oh! Kitty! Look! It's the castle!!! That's where we're going right!?" The girl pelted Maoin verbally before jumping on the kitty's back. She was pretty happy that the kitten stopped hiding from... Marie was it? Well, Sol didn't really like the girl in the first place so that didn't matter too much. "Are you excited!

Luna... Needed a break. Her younger brother was hardly like that so it was completely new. It was like having another Lyssa without the more... Obnoxious parts. Just wrapped in a small package. "So. Umm, tasty little snack? I mean, I guess compared to your size at the time that'd be true but it still feels weird." Luna giggled a little. "So, what do you think we're going to encounter in that castle? Ghosts? Ghouls? Geists?"

~Ancient Castle: Exterior ~

Sorcha - Miren - Marie

Well, Marie had not been expecting that.

The demon fell face first into the dirt of the road, her pristine white dress getting a nice covering of dirt on it, not to mention her face. Nothing but absolute rage was felt as Katherine stepped on her - and despite her apologies, she knew it was on purpose. Simple as that. Of course, no no, she wouldn't let her emotions control her. No, she was Pride! She was better than letting some foolish emotion like anger control her. This woman was lucky her mom had forbidden the usage of any of her special magic or she'd suffer the wrath of her Arsenal and put her right in her place. Bah!

She pushed herself to her feet, the cool gaze she was wearing betraying none of her annoyance. She kept walking. Why was she of all people forced to even attend the same gathering as these lesser beings? Well, whatever fine. She wouldn't help or in any way involve herself. She was far too important to so much as lift a single finger to handle them. Damn it...she should have to suffer this humiliation like this! Damn it...all of these people...once she earned her throne she'd destroy all of them for their transgressions.

"Who knows!" Sorcha replied with a bright grin. "You know, dragons love old places like this. Quiet. Out of the way...perfect for hiding out while stealing tasty little sheep from some scared peasants." She licked her lips, obviously speaking from experience. "Heh, Luckily for you all I haven't met another dragon in a long time...I'm fairly certain we won't run into one. Ghouls and undead would be a bad thing to run into though."

As the group came to a halt in front of the old castle gates, there was an eerie silence over the place. No birds, no animals or wildlife of any kind, it seemed. Only a gentle, cool breeze typical for this time of year. The outside of the castle itself was just as overgrown as the walls. What once might have been an outdoor courtyard of sorts had been left to the ravages of time. The stone pathway was mostly nonexistent, and the large wooden doors to the castle were rotted away and hanging slightly ajar. There were a number of items and rusty pieces of metal strewn about, and a number of walls had collapsed and gave way to piles of rubble lingering over the area.

"Welp, this is it I believe! Heh, all ruined castles always look the same." Sorcha continued. "Alright...Ahem...Luna." Sorcha gave the knight a soft smile. "I think I'm going to stay out here for a bit if you don't mind. The trip over here has made me a bit tired."

Marie didn't say anything herself, merely hung around the edge of the group - mostly avoiding them, it seemed. Ugh, she really didn't want to have to go in there.

Miren had elected to remain close to Eith and Katherine. She didn't really understand why Marie was being...bullied? Or why Marie herself seemed to be fairly antagonistic, but it seemed a little mean on everyone's account. She sort of wanted to say something herself, but decided against it. She...she shouldn't involve herself. Seemed serious, whatever it was. Instead she turned back to Eith.

"H-hey, Eith." She gave her friend a smile. "Uhm, any of this look familiar? Like you've been here before?"

It would mostly be up to Katherine to decide how they went about exploring this old ruin.

"L-Lady Solana?" The cat was surprised as suddenly a small human figure latched onto her back seemingly from nowhere, although after a couple quick seconds of adjusting her frame it seemed that Maoin was ready to carry the girl around with a small sigh. "I'm more worried than anything ..." She wasn't exactly the strongest figure alive, but it'd have to do. Though as Lady Sorcha finished speaking and expressed her exhaustion the kitten looked towards her with a little concern before approaching.

"Mistress, is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?" She hoped Lady Sorcha's illness wasn't acting up, but if the dragon bothered to look at her she would notice the kid was still on her back. "I can fetch you something from the cart if that's what you desire. Lady Sorcha. Ma'am." The kitten's voice was just a bit more meek than usual as she asked about doing her job seeming to not mind the eighty pound weight strapped to her back.

Meowka of course slept in the cart through these shenanigans and mewed happily to herself as she dreamed about getting her paws on a tasty mouse.

Maybe we should just go through the front door?" Katherine suggested to herself, tapping a finger at her chin. After a few seconds of thought, a small army of dolls marched out of the cart with a certain cat carried with them. The cat was set down next to Katherine as the dolls all made their way to the front gate and looked around for the easiest way to find it just in case, she sent dolls around the area to find an alternate route inside. They'd figure it out soon enough, so Katherine set her attention to Meowka. "Dear Kitten, it's time to wake up. The fun's about to begin. And if you don't wake up, it's no food for a couple of days." Truely it was an idle threat, but hopefully it would be enough to get her going.

Meanwhile, Eith looked to Miren and considered her question as she looked over the castle. Her eyes narrowed as it felt... Well, scary. "Not exactly, but... It seems scary. Like a place I don't want to be." Eith commented as she grabbed for Miren's hand and pulling her close as if protecting her. It was a place that felt like it would take those closest to one... In Eith's head at least.

Luna looked over Sorcha for a second before giving a light sigh and nodded. "Do what you need then. I'm going to go with Miss Lindall just in case." Luna said before patting Sorcha on the head and turning towards where Katherine and the cat that was oddly similar to Maoin.

Sol merely watched the exchange between Sorcha and Luna before releasing her grip from around Maoin's neck, grabbed the cat's hand and pulled her over to Sorcha before hugging the dragon. "Are you okay, Miss Dragon?" Sol asked, looking up to Sorcha. "You're not going to die are you? Hugs make you feel better right? I kind of want to go with Luna, but I can stay here and make you feel better... But I could go in the spooky castle..." Sol muttered the last part to herself mostly. Despite the tone of her words, her face betrayed a small bit of nervousness from the castle. It had an eerie feel to it after all.

Sorcha - Miren - Marie

"Aha, I'll be fine little one. Just a small stomach ache is all." The dragon smiled, patting Sol on the head. "Now, instead of being nervous, Sol, think of it as an adventure! Think of the things you might find inside! Treasure! Adventure! Monster slaying!" The dragon was of course, speaking of things that'd make her get her own butt in gear but details, details. "Of course, if you want to stay here and make sure no evil meanies flee from big-sis Luna while she heroically beats them to a pulp that is fine too~" She flashed Luna a grin.

"A-ah...u-uhm." Miren was caught off guard as Eith pulled her closer. Not that she really minded, of course, but she didn't like surprises. Adorable bunny buns were weak to sudden things. "R-right. W-well, it should be mostly abandoned. Maybe some...small animals or something but there shouldn't be anything too terrible inside." She pulled Eith towards the large, half-open doors that lead into the old place. "W-well! Come on then..." Miren gulped, pulling her hand out of Eith's grasp and motioning for everyone to follow. "W-we should get going." Despite the nervousness, Miren liked to think she was in her element in old places like this and she'd be lying if she wasn't excited at the prospect of exploring an old ruin such as this.

Marie sighed, grumbling to herself and bringing up the rear of any who decided to follow Miren inside.

Once there, they were greeted with a very...utilitarian looking ruin. The room beyond the large doors was large, though seemed to lack much of any sort of decoration, or perhaps it had been picked clean by now. The only decorations was a faded red carpet that towards an inaccessible door in front of them, blocked by rubble from a collapsed part of the second floor balcony above. Upon the left wall, there was a large staircase that led to it, and presumably places on the upper floors. A door under the staircase seemed to lead to the west wing of the castle, while a door to their right led to the east.

For the most part, the air inside was still and cold, but clear.

"Ooh!" Miren hopped eagerly inside towards the center of the room. "I wonder who built this...it's definitely not from any human histories that I know of." The rabbit eagerly hopped over to the staircase. "S-so...uhm, perhaps we should search the rooms? We shouldn't split up entirely though. Old places like this are certain to have a few surprises." Miren was rather excited, forgetting that she wasn't the one in charge here.

Meanwhile, Marie remained silent, intent on hanging back and not interacting with any of the others. Katherine had put her in a foul mood, it seemed.

It was nice to know that Lady Solana was looking out for the dragoness as well even if she was just a chil-

'Little One!?' The cat's mouth practically dropped. It wasn't exactly a mighty title to bear, but it was hers wasn't it? That was her pet name! She remembered cherishing that name ever since Lady Sorcha decided to not drop her in the lake on that first meeting. This simply wasn't fair!

And if that wasn't bad enough the cat watched Lady Solana get patted on the head and a small frown couldn't help but cross her lips. Why would she be jealous? Of course she wasn't! The kitten's eyes watched the hand as it tussled the girl's hair affectionately ... the kitten forced herself to stop thinking about that. It was her owner's job to reward her with pets as she chose to. She wasn't supposed to ask for them. And besides, it wasn't as if Lady Sorcha's pets were any different than Lady Solana's pets aside from the assured attitude and the security and the trust they conveyed through each one as well as ...

The cat's ears dropped slightly as she realized that Lady Sorcha was ignoring her. Was this some sort of test? Was she still being punished from earlier, with Lady Sorcha still being irritated from the Marie incident? Maoin's tail went slightly between her legs as she thought about that. Maybe she should just head inside.

Meowka began to wake up as suddenly her crate was pierced with light and it felt like the world began to shift beneath her. Couldn't a cat take their nap in peace? By the time she was deposited at the wizard's feet she was already awake and feeling a little irritated. She seriously contemplated ignoring the woman and her blasted little dolls, but the little bastards hated her and would probably kick her awake if she wanted to return to her well earned sleep and she wouldn't be fed.

Fine.

Meowka stretched against the ground to pop her back a couple of times before standing up with a somewhat irritated look at the puppeteer. "Adventure. Fun." Although ultimately she'd follow the woman inside. Although something bothered her about this. "Why did you bring me along anyways? Did you want me to catch a mouse or something?" The prowler of the night wasn't against a good tussle but she wasn't exactly an expert in history.

Katherine was happy enough to follow Miren in. She used to do this type of thing a lot, from what she heard at least. She had a group of her dolls spread out to cover the area, but not go too far. She wanted to know if something was coming, though if there was something else with them, it was likely an animal or something like Miren suggested. Before entering, she called back to Luna, "With us, Miss Lunalel! I'd like it if you could come here to 'beat things to a pulp' in case something appears." Backing up Sorcha's joke a bit, pulling on her kitten's shoulder, urging her to follow as she walked into the castle after Miren.

Luna looked a bit embarrassed by the two of them making fun of her. "I'm not just some brute, you two!" Luna complained before sighing. She started to walk towards the castle gate, "Don't take too long to figure out what you're going to do Sol." Luna suggested before continuing inside.

Sol giggled at the embarrassed look on Luna's face but turned back to Sorcha after Luna left. "So, a stomach ache? Oh! My stomach felt better after mommy rubbed it!" So Sol, the girl that had not quite figured out the concept of personal space, rubbed the stomach of the dragon. "You could have Kitty rub your stomach." The girl suggested while continuing.

Inside the castle, Katherine seemed interested and a bit happy. Well, maybe too happy. "Oh! How wonderful! A dead castle! Nothing living in sight! Imagine! There may be spirits willing to be used as a soul catalyst for more dolls! It's enough to make a woman want to dance!" She always was overjoyed when it meant her army count could go up. That meant there were more children for her to command.

Eith stayed close to Miren as she looked around. This place seemed... Well, "Familiar. Irritating... Sad..." The hound muttered loud enough for Miren to hear. "This place reminds me of torture, death. If Katherine thinks this might be the place... It might be."

Katherine looked to the hound, trying to hide her excitement. "Yes, I was confident in my sources after all." She went to the greatest sources she thought would be in the world... And another one as well for good measure.

Luna looked around and she just felt... Well, it seemed like a dreadful place. Castles were not always places of warmth and hospitality but this run down place was something else. "If dreadful were one of the things you were looking for, this place is definitely the place." She stated, electing a nod from Eith.

Katherine nodded as well, looking a little proud. "Of course." Katherine said, patting Meowka on the head for little reason. "Enough of this though. I say we go to the right. We can leave upstairs be for now. If this is the place that Eith was kept, then they would have kept her on the first floor most likely. What do you think Miren?"

Miren - Marie

"Torture and death?" Miren cocked her head to the side, rubbing one of her ears. "Ah...yes. W-well...any place with any history is likely to have something like that." She replied. She had been in a number of places over the years, and that was just a simple fact of life for some people, especially in the more remote parts of the world. What they considered to be cruel and torture, may simply be culture in other parts of the world.

"Ahem...right, anyways." Miren turned back to the group. "It's a good idea, Katherine...but It looks like there's an east and west wing. Until we look around we don't know how much of this place is still intact. If you want to head to the right wing with Meowka...I'll head to the left wing with Marie and Eith." At this, the demon raised her eyebrows a tiny bit in slight surprise, but quickly turned back to the glare that had become usual for her in this little endeavor. "U-uhm, if you're alright with it, of course Marie."

"Hmph." Marie huffed, turning her head towards the far wall.
"It's not like I have much of a choice. Do whatever you want, creature."

"R-right! W-well, the passages will probably meet up again elsewhere, and at least have other ways to the other parts of the ruin."

~Ancient Castle: Exterior ~

Sorcha

"Have fun, Luna!" Sorcha grinned, waving off the knight, not paying attention to what Sol was about to do. "Try to have fun, hm? Don't let the spooky ghosts get-grrreaaaah?" The end of the dragons sentence trailed off into definitely not regal or commanding growl. Immediately, Sorcha slapped a hand against her mouth. Nervously, she removed it. "Grraaah?" Only to quickly replace it for a few seconds before turning her head down towards Sol. Sorcha looked somewhat conflicted, as if she wanted to ask Sol to quit - but on the other hand it looked like she liked it for whatever reason.

Despite her words, it was clear from the dragons body language she wasn't entirely opposed to it.

Maoin became even more upset as Sol began to pet Lady Sorcha's belly. It was undignified, wrong, unworthy of her-

-what? The kitten found herself looking at the dragoness as she clearly enjoyed herself. After taking a quick mental note, the kitten simply looked on with a sort of dumbfounded surprise until Sol made her suggestion. Despite it being very ... embarrassing, the servant hoped her owner would ask for her help, but once again Lady Sorcha didn't acknowledge her presence despite a direct mention of her name.

The cat wordlessly turned towards the castle and set out for it. She had heard some of the initial conversation and quietly headed upstairs without really looking at the group of people gathered below. If everything else was already taken care of, then surely it would be best for her to head up here? Besides, it would at least mean she'd have a bit of time alone to be upset without anyone being able to look at her.

Maoin gave the hallways a quick scan before continuing.

Meowka allowed herself to be pulled along into the castle that naturally had fallen into complete decay and noticed that several hiding spots were made available behind various parts of collapsed rubble. Her ears perked up on her head as she began to try and listen to the environment, paying little attention to her companions and trying to ignore the dog that had traveled with them for whatever blasted reason.

Of course, her attempts to hear anything with interrupted by the sudden wave of excitement that ran over the archwizard that rarely seemed to happen. For a couple of seconds Meowka looked on with surprise until she quickly became annoyed with the prospect that she'd likely be unable to listen for a while. As the puppeteer calmed down though the cat found herself giving off a somewhat satisfied sigh in spite of herself- until a hand found itself on her head and began to pet her absentmindedly.

Yes, she was obviously worthy of this pampering but it wasn't what she had demanded at that moment. Though as the kitten looked at the knightess that would be traveling with them she couldn't help but comment. "Yo, knight girl. You do realize your armor makes nearly as much of a rackus as this oddly cheerful woman is right now?" Meowka gestured towards the woman that was petting her almost tiredly. "If anythings in here they'll be on top of us in no time, so you might want to take those metal thingies off. I'm not going to let my master bring me along if it guarantees my death."

Meowka was the definition of loyalty.

Katherine put her hand on the cat's head and dragged her off to the right. She was slightly irritated. "You don't understand, dear Meowka. You're going with your master whether you want to or not." She turned back to Luna for a couple of seconds. [color=green]"I can take care of this dumb cat, so go over there and enjoy yourself.

Luna scratched her head and went with Miren, Marie and Eith. She wasn't a big fan of Marie of course, but she'd live for now.

Eith the Shellagh and Lunalel Lightsword

"Miren, I dislike this place." Eith mentioned as she walked on with her group. She looked around and it was absolutely depressing. In fact, it seemed as if some ghost were going to jump out of the wall any minute now. She felt better knowing that there was also that Sword-Woman here as well. She was a good fighter but still, this place was one of dread. Eith couldn't help but feel weak and shallow.

"So, is this place where... Well, whatever happened to Eith?" Luna asked. She had been filled in on what was suppose to have happened, but well, she definitely had been out of the loop really and it was hard to keep everything straight.

Solana Lightsword

"Oooooooohhhhh.... Dragon Lady seems to like this." Sol said as she rubbed the dragon's belly some more. It was entertaining, and the dragon didn't seem to dislike it... "Kitty! You should try." Sol said before turning to look at... A cat that wasn't there. "Ehh! Kitty! Dragon Lady! We need to.." Her eyes caught the back of the cat going into the castle. Sol pouted a little bit and grabbed Sorcha's hand. "Let's catch up! Everyone else is going inside!"

Katherine Lindall

"Geez, do you really need to start something? It's difficult to separate that Noble from her house insignia. We'll be fine, there shouldn't be anything too dangerous left in here. Or are you saying I can't protect your cute little behind?" Katherine asked as she poked the cat on the nose. It was a weird place for sure. It seemed like it was repurposed a bit but seemed to do plenty. "Something's about to jump you, but don't worry, it's friendly."

Not too long after, a voice came from behind, "Kitty!!!" The voice exclaimed as it's body jumped on Meowka and hugged her. "Don't run off like that!"

"I think you have the wrong 'Kitty' there. That's the one contracted to me, and not the one your dragon made into a maid." Katherine said, trying to hold back a giggle at Meowka's face.

"Ehh! I... Ohh..." The girl said as she got off the cat's back. "I, uhh, umm. Sorry." Sol said looking a bit ashamed.

Katherine couldn't help but giggle. This girl was fairly cute in a "Little Girl" way. She looked to the Dragon and the girl, "So, did you lose your cat? I've not really seen her. Unless my cat here did."

Katherine - Meowka - Sorcha - Sol

"G-grah?" Sorcha could only manage another quite growl as Sol tugged on her hand, leading her into the castle. The dragon was wholly unprepared for that, being far too focused on trying not to appear completely undignified and little more than a common house pet. By the time she was pulled inside, she hadn't been able to direct Sol to where Maoin had actually gone. Instead, it seemed, they ended up with Katherine and Meowka.

"Oof." Sorcha pulled her hand away from Sol. "Apologies. This little one got carried away, just a bit." The dragon replied. She really should be resting a bit, but she was already here now...no sense in heading back. Sorcha flapped her wings in mild annoyance. Oh well. She could handle a little trek through an old castle. "It seems though, yes we have lost Maoin. I am unsure why she headed in by herself but I am unsure If I ever know entirely what is going through that kitten's head." She replied with a sigh.

The small group of people eventually passed what appeared to be a large collapsed doorway that seemed to lead to a courtyard on the other side of it, judging from the light coming in through the cracks in the rubble. The hallway continued on the way it had previously, before turning to the left at a staircase that seemed to lead downwards.

Luna, Marie, Eith, and Miren

"It'll be fine, Eith!" Miren replied, taking the lead as they walked down the west wing before replying to Luna. "A-and, yes...according to Katherine's research there were...quite a number of experiments done at this place over the years." The human chimera frowned, as if recalling something unpleasant before shaking her head. "W-we'll be fine though, there shouldn't be anything left of those experiments still around."

The group continued walking, though nothing in the hallway seemed to be anything of note. The rooms seemed to be of little importance, nothing more than what looked to be the remains of some storage areas of some sort. The broken remains of large wooden crates and other similar items were stacked against the wall in one room. In another, is what looked to be the remains of a lab of some sort. Various old beakers were laying useless on the ground, some broken but otherwise nothing of note.

Soon enough, the hallway turned at a sharp ninety degree angle to the right before leading into a relatively large room that had a number of bookshelves, tables, and a number of overturned cabinets. In the air hung the musty smell of old paper.

"...A library?" Miren's ears perked up. That was her first impression at least, but upon further consideration it wasn't large enough to be used for one. "Hm, a study of some sort?" She hopped into the room, swiveling her head around and taking a good look at the area before hopping over to one of the shelves. "Maybe a storage place for records or something...looks like most of the stuff here is no good, though..." Miren frowned. Many of the presumed records had been damaged by the weather, left to rot in the elements. "Hrm, there might be something if we look."

Miren continued to carefully go through the shelves a few moments, but a small distance away on the opposite end of the room there was a door that lead outside to what looked to be an overgrown garden.

Marie for the most part remained silent, not contributing anything. She was content not to help these lesser creatures.

Maoin

As the lone kitten ascended the stairs to the upper floors of the castle, the echoes of chatter from the other parties faded quickly she was met with an almost eerie silence. Similar to how it had been outside, no birds or other wildlife seemed to be making much of a noise. Only the echoes of her own soft footfalls could be heard echoing off the ancient stone walls around her. A few bugs could be seen skittering about, but paid the cat no mind, instead fleeing from the light that streamed in from various old windows and cracks in the stone ceiling.

As she moved through the first archway into the hallways beyond, the entire place seemed like it was at first glance - abandoned. The interior, at least, seemed like it had been devoid of anyone's presence decade. Centuries, maybe. The hallway was lined with a number of side rooms, the doors to of which were ajar or broken completely. Any of the rooms she poked her her poked her head into were similarly empty, though one or two others seemed to be hallways that led to other parts of the castle. Nothing but the remains of what were perhaps once chairs, beds, or other amenities. Perhaps this used to be the living quarters? Would make some sense, at least.

Eventually, as she reached the end of the hallway she would notice a spiral stairwell that led up again, perhaps to the exterior ramparts of the castle. To her right though, was a door - and one in relatively good condition, though it still appeared not to have been disturbed in ages. If she had a thought to open it, she'd be disappointed. Something heavy on the other side of the door prevented it from swinging open.

If she happened to look upwards, she'd see a crack in the ceiling of the roof that lead towards a window on the opposite wall. Outside the window, there looked to be old scaffolding of some sort overlooking a now overgrown garden, indicating that someone might have had tried repairs or were planning an addition to the place at one point. Might be a way into the room from there.

The kitten walked nervously through the eeriely silent halls, ears straining to hear any sound aside from the ones caused by her own quiet footfalls. Until she gathered herself towards the end of the hallway all she noticed were rooms not worthy of a peasant due to their state of disrepair. Still though, her curiosity forced her to examine each and every place as she passed them by for at least a couple of seconds - the girl couldn't help it.

When she tried her luck with the last door on the hallway though she was pleasantly surprised to see it didn't open, and then irritated as it wouldn't open. The planks appeared to be in suspiciously good repair compared to the decaying wood of the rest of the castle. Of course she instantly began to wonder if there was perhaps something interesting on the other side. She gave the air a sniff to see what she could smell ... perhaps a decaying body? The scent of rotting timbers? Perfume even? A kitten relied on their nose as well as their ears, after all.

No matter what it smelled like though curiosity would get the better of her as she looked towards the scaffolding. She wouldn't want to live on it, but she had been on top of many a narrower branch in bad weather. The girl set her food out on the old planks and began to move across it, hoping it'd wrap around to the other side and possibly let her into the room.

If Meowka wasn't warned she would have had complete justification to claw the annoying girl's face until she'd never be bothered again. But with the Archmage having given her a warning she figured that her master would be upset if she did such a thing. So instead she simply let out a loud hiss a couple of seconds after the girl hopped off as a way of letting out her frustration from being bounced ontop of like she was some sort of toy.

The little girl and the dragon had come along with them. Fantastic. The cat was content to listen to their conversation until they began to talk about her littermate. "What's going through her head? Probably nothing at all." For a few seconds Meowka's entire body became hostile as she thought about that failure of a familiar before forcing herself to calm down a bit. If she made her distaste too apparent then her entire plan would be fruitless. "Anyways we should keep going. Haven't heard you cat at all - nope." She genuinely didn't, but she did hope that the castle might do her work for her.

Eith the Shellagh and Lunalel Lightsword

"I doubt I'll be of much use in here. I'll go take a look at outside. Maybe you're eyes can catch something in here Miren." Luna said as she took her leave outside.

Eith meanwhile, considered going after her, but was unsure of what to do. She looked to Miren, who would tell her what to do. She didn't want to leave the bunny alone... Well, as alone as one can get with a demon like Marie hanging around. Eith wanted to say that she was someone... But she couldn't remember.

Katherine Lindall and Solana

"Oh my, a path downward." Katherine noted. It was easy to tell that it was dark down there. She thought about mentioning that it was nice to have a magic user from the Lightsword house, but she felt that this "Lightsword" wasn't basking in the power of Light-Magic like that Knightess. "Shall we head down into Hell together?" Katherine joked a bit, pondering what to do for light? Well, if nothing else, they could easily make a torch with some of the materials around here.

"Down into hell?" Solana had to ask, curious. "We're not really going to right?"

Katherine couldn't help but giggle a bit, "Well, one of us probably will, but it's not you or that dragon there... Most likely." The Teacher said, eyeing the dragon for a couple of seconds. "Either way, it's a figure of speech. Just prepare for the worst here. Hopefully, there will be an answer for us down here. OH! And, uhm, Sorcha was it? I sent a small search team out for that cat, I'd hate for someone to lose a life on this journey. Isn't that right, Meowka?" She asked, patting the cat on the head again.

Katherine - Meowka - Sorcha - Sol

"Ah...thank you, Katherine." Sorcha replied. "And yes, Sorcha is my given name - I am assuming Livia has said quite a bit about me." The dragon chuckled, turning her head towards Sol. "Stay close to me little one, hm?" Sorcha said, patting her on the head as they began to descend the stairs.

The descent was blessedly short, the steep staircase carrying them a floor below the castles first level. As Katherine expected, light was going to be a problem. No one had been in the castle for ages. It'd be silly to expect lit torches in an old ruin. Thankfully for them, it was easy enough to find a source of light as they descended. A few old torches were sitting in little slots on the walls, though most were worn and wooden, but a torch was a torch and a source of light would be needed to venture into the lower floors. If Katherine managed to light the torch, the group moved down into the basement floors, the small source of light illuminating enough to see a few feet in front of them clearly.

"Hm...it smells like no one's been here for a long time." Sorcha commented, holding onto Sol's hand. "We should be careful though. Old ruins like this tend to attract many number of beasts. Including dragons."

With the limited light, the group could at least see there was a large underground chamber of some sort, with a number of rooms shooting off. For the most part the place seemed in fairly good condition. It seemed to be some sort of...jail? Dungeon of sorts. Several rooms seemed to be small, nothing more than cells for holding a handful of people.

Eith, and Miren

"A-ah! Right, I'll keep an eye on things here, Luna." Miren replied before turning to Eith. "Alright, Eith." Miren hopped over to the hound. "We'll looking for anything that might be records of experiments on erm...living beings." Miren reached over, patting the dog on the head in an attempt to at least make her feel more at ease. "There's a lot to cover on my own, so a little help would be nice...e-erm, if you could help me look..." She didn't want to stress the hound out, but she doubted Marie would help...as evidence by the fact the white demon was following after Luna.

Marie sighed, ignoring the rabbit and the hound, walking after Luna slowly. She honestly didn't like anyone here. All of them hated her, she could tell. That was fine. Wasn't anything new. Wasn't her fault they couldn't understand who she was or what she deserved. She was PRIDE. The granddaughter of he who would usurp and kill God. She was perfection incarnate and she didn't need any of those fools.

And she wouldn't let this filthy library dirty her clothes either, since she currently had no way to instantly clean herself since her mom sealed most of her magic.

Maoin

From what she could tell after sniffing the air, there was definitely something odd. It smelled like another cat?...but there was something else there too. It was odd. There was definitely cat there, but there was something else...perhaps goat? It was difficult to tell entirely. The room must have been kept well, or at least not have anything that could be of more help to be identified with her nose. Perhaps it was just the lingering smell of some animals passing through. Chances were good at least, though. Either way, the kitten ignored it in favor of checking the scaffolding.

Maoin stepped carefully onto the scaffolding, the old wood planks creaking wearily under her weight but for the most part seemed stable. Aside from the potential for the entire thing to come crashing down, it was rather peaceful out here. A constant, but cool breeze was blowing. Below, she could see a garden and Luna, who was currently walking out of a the library by herself. The garden itself was obviously overgrown and in complete disrepair, but that was likely not important to the kitten.

The kitten's attention was on the scaffolding and making sure she didn't fall. Her swift, careful footsteps, carried her easily across the planks, and it seemed her theory that they might have a way to the other side of the room might be correct. Barely a few feet out of the window and onto the scaffolding the scaffolding stopped abruptly, an old work ladder worked into the old structure lead upwards to the next floor of the building.

Whatever happened here, it had taken out a chunk of the entire wall with it, making it impossible to reach this part of the castle from the hallways. Once she was up, the crack in the floor she saw from the floor below became much more visible. The roof of the room had caved in, but someone had clearly gotten rid of the rubble long ago. She had a clear view from the room from above now, and it was very clear that someone or something had been living here recently. A pile of pillows had been tossed together in a corner fo the room in an effort to make a makeshift bed. It seemed that the far wall of the room had been eroded away as well, giving Maoin a clear view of the courtyard and an old fountain from here. A fine layer of dust on everything though, seemed to indicate that whoever had was long gone, however.

So...what would Maoin do now? The smell of a cat...goat? Or was that a snake? Whatever it was, it was still there and somewhat stronger now.

Luna, Marie

Luna, shortly followed by Marie, made their way into the garden. The place was overgrown, but one could clearly see that at least some point it was a well kept garden. A large tree could be seen on the opposite end of the garden, looming over the place and creating a long shadow over the garden. Aside from the chirps of a few birds here, all was otherwise silent as the two walked out onto the old stone path that led through the once well kept garden. On one of the walls, there's a scaffolding that looks like it leads to a hole in the wall.

...was that Maoin? Either way, the scaffolding doesn't look sturdy enough to support Luna's weight, but perhaps she could get creative if she wanted to get up.

Marie completely ignore Luna, and started walking deeper into the place, and she'd quickly be lost among the overgrown foliage if Luna didn't make an attempt to follow.
