"Yeah, I hope so too...", although he doubted the authorities alone could do anything about them. Considering what they've gotten away with so far, assuming the Pokemon Lab was also their doing which it likely was, the authorities may be powerless... They needed a stronger hand in all this. What about this region's Champion and Elite Four? Were they doing anything about it? In fact he didn't know who they were on account of being new to this region, but nevermind that, he should work on himself first. Maybe once he became strong enough, these things don't need to happen anymore.
"And I should be fine as long as I have a chance to sleep, Larvitar and me did great in our battle so a good night's rest should do the trick", a Pokemon Center would heal up Pokemon very quickly, a trainer can go in and out with fully healed Pokemon in no longer than half an hour. Resting conventionally will work too, it just simply takes longer.
"I guess we'll go down to the park then? This may be a desert town, but the park is basically all around an oasis", he pointed out. It would be more comfortable there, as there was grass, greenery, and the water of the oasis was said to be quite good... Wait... That's right, the water supply was still poisoned... He might want to ask about it tomorrow, or hopefully it's resolved by then.

Well… things finally turned for the better! Maple, who was now on all four panting her little heart out in exhaustion, had defeated her opponent. Many of the Nexus grunts had fled the scene, and things looked like it was starting to stabilize.
Leon sat down with his head swimming in a daze. It had definitely been a long day, and he hadn’t thought it’d end up like this. He just… just needed a break. To sit down and think. He had time for that… right? With their numbers depleating, surely the civilians would gain enough sense to fight back.
Yes… it’s all starting to turn out right. They were even throwing down smoke bombs to make their get away! Wait… those weren’t smoke bombs. How useless were they even… they only laid out some black goop. But then… came the first sight of a match.
“Oh! WAIT NO! F-*CK!” Leon cried out as he quickly ripped his pokeball from his belt and recalled his mon. A move that was made just in the nick of time. Immediately, a roaring fire exploded from the pools of oil, and bathed him with a smoldering heat.
“SONOVABITCH!” Leon cried out in rage infueled hysterics. He had came all this way in hopes of a promised medical look up for his treecko. And now that was stolen from him by a group of lunatics. How dare they! And now this medical facility will be rendered utterly useless! Useless!
Unless…. There was still some time… right?
--- A few minutes later, Leon forced his way out of the doors of the pokemon burning center. He was coughing heavily as he slowed down to a stop at a safe distance. He had appeared to have taken the time to scavenge and cart out the more critical medical equipment before the building was completely roasted.
He paused for a moment to release Maple from her ball, and gently set her down on the cart over a bundle of towels before pushing it to a nearby group. Instead of complaining about being treated like so, she merely grumbled and laid her head back.
“Do you mind if I join you? Had quite the rough day… nearly died twice. But hey… one of which is worth it,” he hummed. His gaze looked back to the building for a moment, before looking back to the two.
He was completely covered in soot and ash, with a few superficial burns on his body. He coughed a bit, spitting up some ash, but ignored it as he continued on.
“Also got this thing here. I broke a few things on it trying to haul it out, but I can fix it in an hour. Give or take anyways. Figured if we can find the nurse, It’ll be helpful enough in a pinch. If not… can’t hurt to make a phone call to figure out how to use it.”
Floating in his unconsciousness, Deneb dreamed...or rather, he remembered. He recalled the memories of his recent life. The memories of his parents and himself traversing the desert. The blazing hot day, the freezing cold night, and the the mysterious and beautiful sights belonging to the vastness of the sands. To some, it would be harsh place, that trainers and travelers simply pass through as quickly as they could. To Deneb, it was his home. The tents, caves, and ruins stood as his house, and the desert pokemon were his friends. His parents held his hands, and they lived happy lives.
Of course, dreams like this are destined to become nightmares. Memories can be cruel, and turn on the one remembering. The desert sand and wind formed a mighty sandstorm. Deneb's parents tried to hold on to him, but the child was swept away. The sight of his mother and father shrunk into nothingness, and Deneb was thrown about. His body turned to the top of the sandstorm, where he was met with a light brighter than any day he had seen before.
...And then he awoke.
Slowly, Deneb's eyes opened. He turned his head away from the sun when it tried to blind him. His body was sore, but he managed to move, and sit up. He checked himself in order to make sure everything was there. He sighed in relief when Maractus' pokeball, and his family's dagger were both still on his person.
"You up?"
Deneb turned his head, and found that his companion had also made it. The child nodded in response. He took off his headpiece in order to shake the remaining water out of its material. His clothes were still a little wet. With it off, his appearance almost made him seem like a little girl, with long, wet green hair.
As he set the horned circlet down, and squeezed the water out, Deneb asked,

She looked over to the sound of voices to find they belonged to her friends. Each one had their concerns and wondered if the authorities would be able to stop those goons. She doubted,... back in Hoenn despite all the chaos Team Magma and Aqua caused they still roamed free to do whatever they wanted. Sure a few grunts might get arrested here and there but they didnt remain behind bars long. No it would have to take a rough thorough ass kicking from them to shut this syndicate down. She wasnt strong enough for that though. I mean her pokemon only went up a level sense they were in there. That would not be enough to fight a entire gang. Gastly hasn't even learned nightshade yet. Until then he couldn't do much but put pokemon to sleep and houndour... well he was much better at combating but right now he was her only pokemon that could. She needed more right now. She would challenge the gym like everyone else... Then it occurred to her. How does a gym leader heal his or her pokemon after a match? Perhaps they have their own healing machine there. Perhaps after some sleep at the park they could ask the gym leader if they can use it.
She then recalled that the water source was contaminated still so that wasn't going to help. They would need water in a desert city like this. She had little to no money so buying bottled water wasn't going to help. It would also be rude to ask one of these trainers if their pokemon could use watergun so that they could get a drink. I suppose if they got really desperate they could. For now she would follow the group.
"I'm no expert, but I think it's missing a lot of parts...", he pointed out. A kid came out with some medical equipment, visibly the healing machine.
"B... By the way... What you just did is... Looting... With that... I don't think that's legal. Better hand it in to authorities so they can find some handyman to get it working tomorrow...", he suggested, and pointed out, forcibly taking things amidst chaos was the definition of looting, although it's fine if handed in. There were also a lot of parts pertaining to a healing machine, even if he managed to grab a bulk of it, there was no guarantee it had everything it needed to work, whether it be some missing parts or just power and cabling in general. Still, it was probably a help to the town... That is if he hands it in.

“Mmm…” The man began as he lifted his mon off of the cart and carefully set her down in the sand, with the towel under her. He then pulled a box of tools out from under the cart, and a long cable. “I hear you loud and clear. But there’s not much to worry about.”
Leon then crouched down and pulled out a bundle of cables and tossed them off to the side as well. “I plan on handing this back once I get this up and running again. Other wise it would have burned, and… a lot of pokemon would be just shit out of luck for a couple of two or three weeks.”
He opened up a side panel to the machine and poked his head inside. His eyes quickly sifting about it’s parts for the power supply. Once he found it he read it’s lable, mumbling softly to himself, “two hundred fourty volts, fifteen amps… so that’s… about three... point eight kilowatts of power… need the heavy duty.”
With that he drew out his machete and stuck it into the ground point end first. He pulled out a thick cable from the selection and quickly pulled it across the blade. Cutting off one end of the extension cable. And then working more carefully to expose the wires.
“A handy man could fix it, true true. But that handy man won’t show for… another three days,” he continued. Carefully cutting away the insulation between the wires on both the extension cable, and the power supply for the machine.
“And the missing parts? Unnessary. That massive bit behind it is just a covered heat shroud. Not much more than aluminum tubing. This machine dumps out a lot of heat… no lie… it’ll be a sona in a closed room if it wasn’t properly dispersed. But that can be handled later.”
The trainer than looked up to them as he connected the two wires together by twisting them. “I should probably introduce myself though. I am Leon Cyrule. I’ve spent a long time studying different things in hopes of becoming an Engineer one day. And that simply means that I solve practical problems.”
He then slipped the insulation back over the wires, and began to seal them back together with the aid of electrical tape. “So what do you do when you get a bundle of trainers, whom’s friends were roughed up in a fight of roufians, and the aspiring engineer who made a promise to a friend to get a medical call?," Leon nodded to his treecko, whom definitely looked like she was in some bad shape. " Practical problem.”
With that Leon finished up the power cord, and pulled out the technical manual for the machine. He then shifted to inspect the monitor that had been cracked in the heat. The crack was superficial it seems, though he did need to take a moment to reconnect some of the broken wiring. A glance over the electronics proved no real damage. The insides also look as if it had been protected from the heat by the casing. Looks like it should work fine.
“Huh… less messed up than I thought. Only real damage was from breaking off the feet, and hacking the power cable. So… just need to go back to the Nurses, hand them the machine. And find a power source. A strong power source. Strong enough to go to the future I guess. Bit of an exaggeration really, just enough to run an air conditioning for a house.”
Dawn broke over Dune City, there were officials and authorities at the Pokemon Center, based on what they were talking about, it seems they were looking to rebuilding it immediately, as it was a very prime facility in any city. As Rylen walked by he could hear some of them talking, he'd woken early and decided to go off to the gym on his own ahead of everyone else, he wanted time alone to focus, not in preparation for the gym, but he had a feeling the events of last night were just the beginning, so he wanted to become stronger to prevent these kinds of things from happening,
"Looks like construction will take around two days if we do work at night too, but three days and it'll be up again like new. Although we'll have to do construction work tomorrow, as some of our workers in Estoria are still fixing up the Pokemon Lab there",
"I see... I guess it's fortunate for us the healing machine is still working, so we can still offer those services, although right now it's in the police station",
"The healing machine's fine?"
"Yeah, the police had told me some kid fixed it up and handed it into the station. Now everyone who needs it is being directed there. The nurse is there too",
"Well that is a stroke of luck... Well anyways...", Rylen decided to continue moving along after this.

Hotaru awoke inside the oasis. She had to use her pokemon Nephrite the houndour to keep herself warm. Him being a fire type his body heat was perfect for the cold night of the desert. She took notice that Rylen was missing and figured he had went to the gym to challenge it. She was not surprised sense he was talking about it sense they started on this journey. She felt that he wasn't the only one who needed to get stronger. She needed to do so as well. To train her pokemon and fill her party up. She still felt the revenge she had was wasted do to them burning the pokemon center down. Once her team got bigger and stronger she would like to find team Nexus and remove them as a threat to this realm entirely. What these people did was beyond what Team Magma and Aqua would do. The two teams never killed anyone... well not that she knew of anyways. She rose and saw her other friends all sleeping. She decided now was the best time as any. She pulled forth her sketch book and began to draw right away. Making them out and their pokemon right beside them.
This is what she would fight for, so that man and pokemon can live together without strife. She hated what those people did.
Rylen was at the gym early, he had eaten a bit along the way with a small snack, giving Larvitar and Rufflet some too, it was basically breakfast, but they planned on eating more when they returned to meet the others again, for now, Rylen was here to challenge the gym. Under normal circumstances he would wait and go with everyone, but after all that's happened he needed time to himself for this. The gym was a pretty homely structure, honestly he could only tell just because there was a big sign outside.
As he entered, as he expected like every other gym, this gym also acted as another facility, in this case it seemed to be a construction facility. Based on architecture they made the houses in the area. As Rylen walked in, the Gym Leader made himself known.
"A trainer huh? You're here unusually early, normally challengers come by a bit later. I'm Homer by the way, this gym's leader",
"Yeah, but a lot's happened... In any case, I'm here to challenge you for this gym's badge", he responded. He seemed to be a fair bit more serious than yesterday.
"You seem a bit wound up... But a job's a job, so how many badges do you have?", asked the gym leader, as he stepped over to a panel on the wall. He seemed to have an idea why, considering the events of last night, the Gym Leader hasn't had the most restful evening, still he was a working man, and focus amidst tiredness was no new feat to him.
"I don't have any right now", as soon as Rylen said that, Homer picked out one of the panels and procured two Pokeballs from it.
"I use this team quite a bit, seems most new trainers come from Estoria huh? Well then kid, step up", he said, as both he and Rylen stepped up to the arena. It wasn't hard to miss, in fact it was already in-between them, they just had to reach the designated spots. He hit a panel a few times, and an electronic judge made itself known.
Homer looks at the kid standing in front of him and says, "Drilbur. Let's do this."
"Alright, you're up", Rylen pulled a Pokeball from his belt and called forth Rufflet.
"Leer, keep it on it's toes", Rufflet opens up with Leer to lower defenses while seeing what to do next.
"Drilbur counter with Metal Claw" Drilbur did as Homer commanded and went in for a Metal Claw.
"Wing Attack, go for broke!", Rufflet clashes with Wing Attack, taking the attack head on, but aiming to do some damage at the same time, swiping right through and past the Drilbur as it takes the Metal Claw as well.
After the two Pokemon give passing blows to the other Drilbur turns to face the Rufflet but slips slightly. Homer quickly gave out another command, "Regain your footing and wait for him." After recovering its footing the Drilbur puts it's claws up ready to defend.
"Careful, don't rush in just yet, Leer", Rufflet turns with a Leer to stare down it's defense, looking for an opening as it circles the Drilbur, Peck ready for the slightest misstep.
"Looks like he ain't taking the bait. Go at him with Fury Swipes." Drilbur darted torwards the Rufflet with its claws to the side to use Fury Swipes.
"Match it, Fury Attack!", Rufflet decides to use Fury Attack instead, to match the Fury Swipes blow for blow, once there was a rhythm going, "now Peck!", Rufflet sneaked in a more powerful Peck in an attempt to overpower in the heat of the clash.
Neither Homer nor Drilbur expected the peck to come and Drilbur was knocked backwards as a result. "Drilbur look out!" but the warning was to late.
"Let's finish this up! Wing Attack!" Not letting up, Rufflet charges in for a Wing Attack to deliver a coup de grace.
Drilbur does his best to throw up his claws for defense but it doesn't do much and the Drilbur is sent tumbling onto its back. "Drilbur!"
"Drilbur is unable to battle and Rufflet wins."
"Drilbur, that's all for now bud. Diglett it's your time to shine." Homer says as he calls back Drilbur and sends his Diglett in.
Rufflet though a bit beat, is still ready to roll. Ruffling it's feathers to clean itself down and recompose for the next fight. Though slightly tired, it seemed quite determined to continue.
As soon as Diglett appeared from its Pokeball it looks at the opposing Rufflet. "Sand Attack, Quick!" Diglett then uses Sand Attack to hide its location.
"Get back!", Rufflet no longer able to see it's foe keeps an alert eye out for where the Diglett may appear. Although it had no problem avoiding the Sand Attack by hovering a little into the air and backwards before landing quite quickly, the Diglett is nowhere to be seen.
Not wanting to risk announcing their course of action Homer merely says, "Diglett, you know what to do." As soon as it seemed the Rufflet lost sight of Digglet the mole Pokemon burrowed down waiting for the sand to disapate. A few seconds after the sand disapeared Diglett burst out of the ground behind Rufflet to Scratch it.
Rufflet turned within moments after the Diglett emerged from the ground, although it took a hit from Scratch, "quick! Peck!" Rufflet attempted to take this chance to hit it with Peck. The Diglett's stealthy advance startled it, making the attack rushed.
"Magnitude now!" Quickly the Diglett uses magnitude in order to try and throw off the Rufflet's balance to stop it's Peck.
"Back up!" Rylen orders to retreat and avoid the Magnitude, abandoning the Peck as it flies up, landing again after the Magnitude transpires.
"Diglett use Mud Slap then dive down and wait to strike." As Rufflet begins to land Diglett hurls a Mud Slap at it then dives underground to follow up with a Scratch if the Rufflet attempts to dodge.
Rufflet decides to stay aloft to avoid the Mud Slap, soaring a bit higher over the attack with another flap of it's wings, realizing that Diglett's stealth and speed is it's greatest asset, Rylen orders Rufflet to use Leer over the ground below it as it starts hovering down to land again, "Leer, watch for any movement".
"Diglett, throw a couple of Mud Slaps then hide." Since its trick didn't work Diglett emerged at the edge of the arena and launches another Mud Slap. Then it dives down and appears on the other side throwing another Mud Slap in the direction the Rufflet is going. Diglett does this one more time then tries to come up in an area where the Rufflet isn't looking to throw another Mud Slap. Then it hides underneath the ground waiting to strike again.
At this point, Rufflet is just trying to avoid all the Mud Slaps, and just barely avoids the second one, before landing quickly atop a rock to rest it's wings for a bit. Still young and a bit injured, it can't fly for very long. There was no order for this, it seems Rylen was beginning to understand his flying Pokemon's limits here.
"Scratch quick." Once the Rufflet landed Diglett sprung from the ground towards the tired foe trying to Scratch.
"All or nothing Rufflet! Wing Attack!", Rylen orders a gamble on a Wing Attack, landing the strike at the same time as taking the Scratch. On it's last legs it attempts to follow up immediately with a Peck before it must succumb to tiredness in full, which would leave it vulnerable.
The Scratch had connected but the Rufflet was able to quickly counter with a winged attack. The diglett fell to the ground noticing the Rufflet coming towards it again. As Diglett was falling Homer yelled, "Use Mud Slap ASAP." so as soon as it hit the ground Diglett grabbed some dirt and sent a Mud Slap directly towards the oncoming Rufflet.
Unable to stop it's nosedive Peck, Rufflet takes a direct Mud Slap, between it's exhaustion and damage, it is now grounded and slowed down by the mud. Unable to attack as Diglett had changed position, and unable to move effectively, all it can do is wait and see if it can try and Peck, if it can muster the strength for it. "Oh no... Rufflet hang in there", he urged, though it was futile.
"Diglett, let's end this the way it began." Once the Rufflet landed Diglett moved to end the fight the way it started. Diglett used Sand Attack then dove to be right under Rufflet and burst out of the ground trying to make this the one final Scratch.
Rufflet attempted to swerve out of the way, but could not move significantly in time to even let it graze, taking a clean hit and rolling back as it was defeated.
"Rufflet is unable to battle and Diglett wins."
Rylen returned Rufflet to it's Pokeball before the Larvitar at his feet stepped forward into the arena. "You did well, your turn Larvitar".
Homer could see his Diglett was tired and he told it to be careful and wait for a shot. Diglett, being slightly tired from moving around so much and the lucky strike knocking the wind out of it, caustiously approaches the Larvitar looking for an opening to strike the much larger opponent.
"We're not gonna wait around, Screech, then Chip Away", Larvitar wastes no time and opens up with a Screech to try and make the Diglett flinch in surprise before going in for a Chip Away.
Diglett bending over from the loud Screech starts digging down not noticing that Larvitar was darting towards it and just barely looked up at it's attacker due to a warning from Homer but it was no use and Diglett received the hit straight on. Once it recovered from the attack it attempted to use Magnitude
"Grab hold and weather the Magnitude, then Bite!" The Magnitude would come out at the same time as Larvitar clamped down with a Bite, at the same time as grabbing hold, and then as the magnitude transpires, Larvitar would bite over and over again while grappling and preventing the Diglett from going underground.
Not seeing many options Homer commanded his Diglett to use Magnitude again to try and loosen the Larvitar's grip.
The Magnitude from the Diglett shook Larvitar off loosening it's grip as it stumbled back away giving Diglett a chance to escape as Larvitar recovered its footing. "Stay alert, use Chip Away when you see it", it was ready to charge in for another Chip Away the moment Diglett would appear, an almost assured hit.
"Mud Slap. Hurry." Diglett soon reimered behind Larvitar to throw another Mud Slap.
Larvitar turned around to be met with a Mud Slap, but Chip Away did not rely on precision, allowing Larvitar to immediately retaliate with a hit. So long as Larvitar knew where it's opponent was, Chip Away would somehow hit.
As soon as Homer realized Larvitar was coming at Diglett with another Chip Away he told his friend to use Magnitude again but was hit before it could do the attack.
Larvitar with the Chip Away just kept battering away the moment any hit landed, resulting in a barrage until Diglett would somehow escape "that's it! Don't let up, keep hitting it". If Diglett did not find a way out soon, Larvitar would smell blood and end it with Bite.
As Diglett was being pounded on Homer told it to Mud Slap the Larvitar so it reached to both sides and grabbed two clawfuls of dirt to try two consecutive Mud Slaps to attempt to knock back the rock skin pokemon and try for an escape.
Larvitar kept very close proximity while using Chip Away, but it wasn't blinded. too close for a move like Mud Slap to have any real effect, Larvitar closed the distance back into hugging range and, "we've got him now, Bite!", Larvitar grappled the Diglett, before chomping down on the Ground Pokemon.
With the constant barrage of attacks Diglett was to damaged and worn out to take advantage of the small minute gap between the Chip Away and the final Bite which sealed the deal.
"Diglett is unable to battle Larvitar wins. The winner is the challenger Rylen."
"Crud. Diglett come back and rest. You did good friend."
"Alright! Nice work Larvitar", the Larvitar cheered over it's victory in its first gym battle. Rufflet did great too, opening the battle with that strong victory. After which, Homer stepped over to Rylen.
"Good job, kid. You know your stuff. Keep battling like that and you'll do great. And for beating my gym I present to you your first gym badge." Homer proceeded to present to Rylen two objects. One was the unmistakeable Desert Badge of Dune Town's Gym and the other was TM28 Dig. "Now, have a safe journey. Don't get into to much trouble, kid."
And so Rylen went off his way with his first badge. He couldn't promise Homer that one last line, but still, he felt this was a good gauge of his abilities. First thing's first though... The healing machine was at the Police Station right? He should head there to heal up first before meeting back up with the rest.
That's when it hit him. They could be on any random island far away from mainland with now possible way of getting back. But something gave him hope... It was that red light he remembered when he was in the water. When he was trying to save Deneb, but couldn't, that red light saved him. If only he could find it again, if only it could lead him once more, but then he realized, it wasn't there to lead him. He had to lead himself this time.
"I... I don't know. But come on, we should at least try to find out, right?" He stood up and tried to brush the sand off of his pants. He walked over to Deneb and held out his hand to help him up.

After she was done with the sketch she got up and headed forth. She felt she gave Rylen enough time to challenge the gym. She felt it was now her turn. She needed this,... no her pokemon needed this. If she ever dreamed of defeating Nexus and crushing them for good she had to get stronger. She returned her pokemon to their balls and then proceeded forward. She saw the gym and wondered if she would catch Rylen within out at least heading out already. He was much more skilled in battling then she was. Almost as if he was already prepared for it. She arrived at the doors and took a deep breathe and then entered. It was much different then she expected and it caused her to raise a brow. She looked around for someone that looked like a gym leader and when she thought she spotted someone she coughed to get his attention."Are you the gym's owner?" She asked and he smirked and shook his head crossing his arms.
She suddenly felt a tap at her shoulder and looked around to see Homer standing there. He wasn't what she expected. She expected some large man with giant muscles but what she got was someone who looked like one of those people you see at a peace rally. "Hi, you lookingoking for me?" She bowed her head slightly. "Apologies,... who are all these people?" "Oh them? they are helping out with the repairs of the pokemon center. Heard a bunch of kids were involved."She pointed to herself when he said that and he rose his brow. "Your telling me a little girl like yourself had a hand in fighting off those thugs huh? Nice." She then looked at his healer and then back at him.
"I didn't get the chance to heal them? Can I use your machine real quick and then battle you for the gym badge? I want to become stronger so that bad people like that can't run around unchecked" He nodded crossing his arms and made a gesture towards it. She took that as a yes and then after she was done what came next was her first gym battle.
As Hotaru and the Gym Leader Homer stepped to their respective positions, he sent out Drilbur. Hotaru standing opposite of him saw the ground type and decided to chance it. She started off by sending out Houndour. "Go Nephrite,..."
"Drilbur use Mud Slap", the Drilbur stepped forward at the same time as sweeping up along the ground beside it with its claws, throwing spray of mud at the Houndour, attempting to lower its speed as it closed distance.
"Alright Nephrite, lower your head and get in there with a headbut, then try a ember attack close range." The houndour lowered his head and charged forward. The mudslap hitting him in the face as he charged forward going for a headbut while charging up for a ember attack.
Drillbur was caught off guard by the Headbutt charging through and took a hit, but as the Ember was coming, ""Drilbur, Rapid Spin!" The Drilbur spun rapidly around, reducing the damage from the ember as it was deflected around it greatly.
"Now Metal Claw", as soon as that ended, it was back at it with a Metal Claw. Houndour having taken the Mud Slap was a little slowed down with mud building up on it, but it was still not very much. "Brace yourself Nephrite you've been slowed by the mud slap. No point in trying. Just let it get in close and bite down hard." Houndour growled at the Drilbur and then locked it's legs in attempt to brace for the hit. The hit did some damage but Houndour had to shake it off and moved in for a bite attack.
"We still have control, Rapid Spin", its quite hard to bite down on something that was spinning rapidly as Houndour's fangs were forced to back up as it took a light hit. As it finished spinning, the momentum was set back into a reset. Now it was more a quick draw.
Hotaru frowned at the counter attack as Houndour yelped. She had to think fast and quick. She then recalled her fight with Nexus and smiled. "Alright Nephrite lets do this like we did to them Nexus goons. Use a smog attack with a chance of weakening it and then use ember attack!" Houndour was starting to get a bit annoyed with this fight. It ran forward and fired forth a smog attack and once that was done he fired off a ember.
"Rapid Spin!", the Smog being a smokey attack was warded off quite easily, but as soon as it did that, the Smog had surrounded it, and the Ember spread like wildfire through the Smog. It may not have done as much damage as if it had hit directly, but Drilbur was burned and taken some fire damage from all sides.
"We can't let them do that again, Mud Slap again, and then Fury Swipes", that was a lot of actions. It was an all-in. Drilbur was on its last legs and this was a gamble. Hotaru knew they had the upper hand now,.. well not too much Houndour was starting show some fatigue from the current hits. They would need to finish this as quickly as posible. "Alright Nephrite let's go with a howl attack and then use another headbut!" Houndour was able to dodge the mud slap with the drilbur being weakened but it did take a few of the fury swipes. Afterwards it barked out with a howl attack and then lunged forward with a headbutt atttack. "Now that your close go for a bite attack as well." If the headbut hit or not that didn't matter being so close it would also prepare to bite down once more.
Between the burn and exhaustion, it couldn't even dodge the Headbutt, but the Bite that followed would finish Drilbur off handily. Burn reduced it's damage with physical attacks too, so there was no power to the Fury Swipes. Now unable to battle, Drilbur was returned to its Pokeball.
"You did great, that was a solid round... Now, your turn Diglett!", he pulled out a Pokeball and hurled it out, calling forth his Diglett.
"I guess I'm not going to wait around, Magnitude", he ordered, and sure enough the ground began to shake like an earthquake. As much as Nephrite wanted to dodge this attack there was no use and the attack being a ground type move he was hit hard. Even if it was a direct solid hit, it still finished him sending him to the ground. He was out and that left Hotaru with one more pokemon.
"Alright your turn Zed!" She recalled Nephrite into his pokeball and threw out Zed. She already knew what she was going to try. "Alright Zed open up by placing a curse on that diglett, then follow up with a hypnosis attack!" Zed's eyes glowed as it performed the curse placing it on the diglet. Afterwards it then sent forth it's hypnosis.
"Quick! Get under ground!", as the Ghastly's eyes began to glow, the Diglett disappeared underground. The curse being what it was, would definitely land, but the Hypnosis had definitely not hit its mark.
"Now Mud Slap", as the Diglett suddenly popped up outside of Ghastly's line of sight, it hurled a wad of mud at the Ghastly. Zed was ready for this as his special ability kicked in. The slap did not even hit him and just levitated. "Alright Zed, use spite and then go in for a lick attack!" Zed's eyes glowed once more as it used spite on the move mud slap and then rushed in it's tongue sliding out as it whipped it at the diglett.
"Reposition, then Astonish!", the Diglett copped the Spite, but avoided the Lick as it disappeared underground again, popping up again and screeching while aggressively attacking the Ghastly with Astonish. Surprise was what made Astonish work, as long as it can maintain this, it can keep it up. Zed took the hit of the astounish. There wasn't much he could do with it popping up from the ground. Hotaru had to think of something and remembered the curse still in effect and with spite she could weaken it. "Get up high Zed and use spite to weaken it's moves! Then after a spite use Hypnosis!" Zed flew up higher off the ground hoping to be out of the diglett's range and then used spite and followed with a hypnosis.
"Keep it up. Reposition and Astonish, again and again", Homer knew that the Curse was beginning make some damage, but he was more worried about the Spite, as the Hypnosis was avoided effortlessly. After about two rotations of the same moves from both Pokemon, the Diglett suddenly popped out the third time trying to use Astonish, but nothing came. The Spite had finally built up enough, barring it from any further moves. In this moment of shock, its speed would not help it. Hotaru smiled at this and pointed towards the diglett. "Alright Zed dive in and give that diglett a good taste with a lick attack!" Zed let himself drop using what weight he had for momentum and then swung forward with his tongue. "After that point blank shoot out that hypnosis!" Zed did not argue the point it prepared with its eyes glowing. Once the lick was over it would perform another hypnosis.
Once the Diglett was put to sleep, it was over, in that moment of shock, the Hypnosis had time to take effect, and the Licks would only finish it off as the Curse damage did its work. Diglett had fainted, and Hotaru was victorious.
Hotaru smiled and jumped in the air as she saw the match came to an end. The cure move was always a gambit due to its toll. She ran over to Zed and gave him a massive hug. She then waited for the gym leaders words.
"Good work Diglett, a fine match", he said as he returned the Diglett to its ball. It was almost lunch time and the gym was a bit more filled, both with people who were working on the Pokemon Center construction, and people who simply trained at this gym. He began walking over to Hotaru.
"Congratulations, a lot of solid challengers today, I have high hopes for the future. In honor of your first victory at an official gym, the Dune Town Gym, I present to you the Desert Badge", he said, he pulled from a small case in his pocket, and present to Hotaru a shining beige badge, it looked to have the design of sand dunes. Considering the area this town was in, it was almost like a test for what was ahead.
"And of course, a TM just for you", he stepped over to a small panel and pulled a small disk drive out from it, there seemed to be numerous. He handed it to Hotaru.
"This TM contains Dig, don't worry about it "expiring", in fact I'm surprised I'm still required to tell people this considering how far this technology has gone for so long... Anyways, it contains Dig. You'll avoid the opponents attacks for one turn, and come out with a powerful Ground attack... Just watch out for moves like Earthquake alright?", and with that he left Hotaru to do as she wished, leave, or even stay awhile if she had any reason to. Meanwhile, Homer was heading over to the healing machine again to keep his Pokemon ready for anymore challengers, just in case.
She took the badge and then looked at Zed. The Gastly smiled right back seeing as she was pleased. She chased off after the gym leader and once Zed caught up she poked his shoulder."My father is in the hospital right now,.. he was in the fire at the pokemon research lab in Estonia. I think it would help his recovery if he saw his little girl standing next to her first gym leader." She said. He looked over at her and he quickly nodded smiling right back. It was a sad story to hear but she didn't press it so he wouldn't out of respect. She pulled forth her camera and pulled forth the stick and attached the two and then held it out in the air positioning it above them. She then hit the button on the stick and it took the picture. Immortalizing the moment into a digital device.
Once that was over she used his healer once more and then shaked his hand one more time. She had no idea what she would use the disk for. Perhaps she would get a pokemon that could use a good move like that. Once she headed out she started for the oasis again. She bet her friends wondered where she went. That or they where on their way too.

After rolling around trying to fall asleep for a few hours, Orion gave up. He got up and walked off quietly, deciding to take a stroll. After a brief walk, he sat down, thinking about the events of the day before. The sight of the poisoned woman made him shiver. The train of thought disappeared when he saw the pokemon following him. He gave them a faint smile.
After a sleepless night, Orion checked his holocaster to check the time. He stared at the projection for a moment before he realized the gym had opened some minutes ago. He quickly got up from the park bench he was sitting on. The sudden movement alerted Leif, Han and Aegis, all of whom quickly followed him to the gym. Once he arrived, he noticed that there was an ongoing battle inside, so he decided to wait while watching from the bleachers. After a few seconds, he glanced at the trainers, noticing the challenger.
"Rylen!" After the match was concluded, Orion had run off to catch up with Rylen. He spoke with a joyful tone once he caught up to his friend. "Damn, that was a good match! Congratz!"
"Oh! Thanks. You here to challenge the gym here too?", he asked. Larvitar was walking behind him looking quite triumphant.
"Yup," Orion responded with a determined visage, mimicked by the three pokemon following him. "I'll see you and the others back at camp once I'm done here! I should hurry before someone else gets my spot. See ya!" The young trainer turned and darted off to the gym.
At the time he arrived, there were no challengers inside. He walked in. "Hello? I'm here to challenge the gym leader!"
"Hm? Another challenger huh? Well looks like I've got a busy day. So kid, how many badges?", the gym leader was just stepping away from a healing machine in the back as he retrieved the team to turn to the new challenger.
"This'll be my first gym battle," Orion said as he turned to the gym leader with a wide grin and tired eyes.
"So these two again then", he said, holding up the two Pokeballs he recieved from the healing machine.
"You alright though? You seem a bit tired", like he was one to talk. He almost had the same tired eyes.
Orion nodded. "I am, but I gotta pull through," he said before lightly slapping himself. "We're all ready!"
"Well alright then, I guess I'll introduce myself before I forget. I'm Homer, Gym Leader of Dune Town", he said, as he stepped up to his side of the arena. He hit a few buttons and the electronic judge turned on, with a scoreboard on the large screen.
"Maybe I should just keep this guy on all day... I feel like I have a long day ahead. Alright kid, step up".
Orion nodded and walked up to the challenger's side. He knelt and looked at Aegis. "For now, please watch. I want you to be at my side during our next gym challenge." Aegis nodded. The young man got up. "Alright, Han, let's get this rolling!" Han leapt out onto the field, ready for battle.
"Alright then, Drilbur, you're up", he announced, calling forth his Drilbur from his Pokeball. The Drilbur was like new after the healing machine.
"Han, start with Bubble!" The Froakie inhaled, showing off its chest before spewing off a beam of bubbles at the Drillbur.
"Metal Claw, cut down the Bubble!", sure enough the Drilbur imbued it's claws with a glowing silver effect, and began to slice down the incoming bubbles with next to no damage taken as it made contact with it.
"Now charge in with a Mud Slap", Mud Slap wouldn't do much damage to Froakie, but the intention was not damage, it was to try and keep Froakie from running from Drilbur's claws.
"Knock the Mud Slap from out of the air with Bubble!" Han shot bubbles at the ground attack, the attacks colliding. "Go for a Quick Attack before he gets a chance to attack!" Han leapt forward with great speed, aiming to tackle the Drilbur with the attack.
"Step right, and then Fury Swipes", as the Bubble and Mudslap collided, both Pokemon were obscured from each other in that moment, by stepping right, Drilbur was not where Froakie had anticipated, as the barrage of claws came at Froakie going for the punish.
As the Froakie took the first hit from the Fury Swipes, Orion cried out. "Use Lick!" The next swing from the Fury Swipes went through the pokemon who'd changed its type into Ghost. Han swung out its long tongue to slap the Drillbur.
"Protean? Ohoho, I haven't seen that for a long time. Drilbur, forget Fury Swipes, Metal Claw!", Drilbur took the Link head on, but immediately after flinching a bit, it bounced back with two shining claws as it went straight back in.
"Bubble again!" Now up close, Han shot the bubbles again, but leaving himself open for the Metal Claw. He had turned to a water type again, ready to take the hit.
"Don't let up, Metal Claw!", the Bubble had struck Drilbur right on, but so did the Metal Claw to the Froakie, and it was going for a combo strike as it went for yet another strike.
"Use Quick Attack to counter! Don't let it push you back!" Han sprung forward from its hind legs to charge at the Drillbur as it went for the second Metal Claw.
The Quick Attack landed before the Metal Claw, knocking Drilbur back a bit as it took the attack, but immediately would be able to strike the Froakie who landed itself in it's range.
The Metal Claw knocked Han back as well. He quickly rolled to his feet. "Alright, retreat and use Toxic Spikes!" Han leapt back and shot forward purple spikes, scattering them all around the opponent's side.
"Mud Slap", the order was calm, he seems to have seen an opportunity, and that was the aforementioned ability on Froakie. The Mud Slap would sweep over some of the Toxic Spikes, and strike Froakie with Protean for super effective damage.
Han fell back, knocked out. Orion's visage didn't change. "You did well, Han." He called the Froakie back to his pokeball. "Alright, Leif, we're not letting Han's effort go to waste! Jump in and use Mega Drain!" Leif ran onto the field and shot forward a green orb with higher speed than Han's previous attacks.
"Dodge it!", he would order, but with the damage taken earlier, it couldn't do it fully, and was hit with a graze as it was put to critical health.
"Fury Swipes!", Drilbur was definitely going to go down, but he may as well try and get as much damage out as possible before it did. The Drilbur went straight in with both it's claws.
"Break through the attack with Iron Tail!" Leif leapt forward to meet it in the middle, swinging his steel tail to the Drilbur's attack.
The Drilbur went down fairly easily as the Iron Tail connected, neither of it's claws had enough strength left to do anything about the Iron Tail.
"Good work Drilbur, rest a little... Now, Diglett, it's your turn", he returned the Drilbur to its Pokeball, before throwing out another, and sure enough a Diglett emerged. Although this time... It appears he was going to take the initiative.
"Submerge, and then Scratch", submerge was not an attack, but as he said that, the Pokemon disappeared below ground, and from there, it's movements were not detected. Shortly after that, it suddenly appeared behind the Treecko, a silver sharp wisp as it's Scratch attack came up for a surprise attack.
"Quickly, dodge!" Leif moved to get away, but was grazed by the scratch attack nonetheless. "Counter with Mega Drain right away!" Leif shot the same green orb at the Diglett.
"Submerge again, then Sand Attack", the Diglett managed to avoid the Mega Drain, it had both the speed and time to react to it, as it disappeared again. Moments later, it appeared a ways off from the Treecko and hurled a wad of Sand at it with Sand Attack, aiming to obscure its vision.
Hearing the crust of the ground break, Leif turned to the Diglett as it emerged. "Use Iron Tail to block the Sand Attack and slam the attack on the ground!" As the sand attack dispersed, the tunnels made under the ground over the previous battles and this one caved in. "Try Mega Drain again!"
The Iron Tail slamming the ground may not have done any damage to Diglett, but it warded off the Sand Attack, and the vibrations stunned the Diglett temporarily, the Mega Drain that followed was only barely avoided. Fortunately it was not as fast as something like Absorb, but a clean hit from that would spell the end for a fragile Pokemon like Diglett. It's speed was its asset here, and it would continue to make use of that. The tunnels below, some had collapsed, but mostly in the area around Treecko, limiting it's fast options.
"Magnitude, and then Mud Slap", the Diglett would suddenly appear out of the Treecko's line of sight as it emerges not too far from its original position to have the moment to call on it's Magnitude. It seemed to have a mighty will, as it called a Magnitude 9. Treecko being a Grass type wouldn't take much damage from it normally, but 9 might be a bit dangerous. It was a move that affected all the ground, so those who could take to the air would not be affected. It may work against it though as Magnitude 9 was while stronger, definitely slower as well.
"Kick off the ground with Iron Tail and bring it down on Diglett before it can move away!" After a moment in the tremor, Leif jumped slightly, and as he was landing, slammed his tail down, launching him up. He spotted the Diglett and dove towards it, spinning with the Iron Tail.
"What?!", a normal jump would not have made the leap to Diglett, but launching off the Iron Tail and coming down with that spinning momentum, letting the Magnitude continue going below the Treecko. As the Iron Tail connected, the Magnitude had ended. From pure force, the Diglett was stunned,
"Quick! Submerge again! Get away!", it was point blank range and as this order came out, the Diglett was staggered. This was a golden opportunity.
"Don't let up! Mega Drain!" As the Treecko remained in suspension in the air for a moment, it threw the green orb at the diglett and landed.
The Diglett was not able to get away. The Mega Drain while slow, did not have much distance to travel with the Treecko right in front of it, and just like that, it was defeated, while Treecko came out healthier than it started. As the Diglett was returned to it's Pokeball and the battle ended, Gym Leader Homer walked towards the young trainer.
Orion stared at the scene for a moment before a wide smile appeared on his lips. "We did it!" Aegis seemed to be cheering as well while Leif ran towards the two. "You were great out there!"
"Indeed, you have the right mind for battling, a bit more work and even just Froakie alone would've been enough. Here, I confer to you your first badge of the Fordis League, the Desert Badge", as he was walking and talking, he pulled out a small case and pulled the badge from it. A beige badge with a design like sand dunes. After that, he pulled a small disk drive from the panel by the wall, which he interacted with shortly before walking over,
"And this TM too, it contains Dig. The move Dig should let your Pokemon avoid most attacks while surprising the opponent with an explosive ground attack. You could use it to escape from caves too... Also they don't expire, but I'm sure you know that already too", he explained.
"Anyways, good luck in your journey. I've got a lot of hope for the future of trainers, and it's not even lunch time", he joked. The battles that took place today were really something else after all, for new trainers it was quite a sight. From there, Orion was free to do as he pleased. Stay for whatever reason, or get moving along.

"Dig!" Han jumped up and sunk into the ground. A few moments later, he emerged from where he'd disappeared. "You got the hang of this! Now, let's go to the others. I wonder how everyone is doing today... Come on, let's go meet up with the gang."
Deneb reached up and grabbed hold of Charlie's hand, allowing the older person to help him stand back up. His muscles were still sore, but it wasn't so bad as to cause him to collapse again. He checked his person once more to check if he had everything of personal import on him. His dagger was there, and there was a pokeball near it. He pulled it out and enlarged it. He had to make sure Maractus was okay.
Deneb tossed the ball out. Fortunately for him, Maractus was physically fine. Unfortunately for the both of them, she was freaking out. Deneb could see that in her...plant hand things were maracas, and figured that there was only one course of action she could possibly take at this particular moment. She whacked at Deneb for worrying her so badly, and then she tried to whack at Charlie for putting them in danger. She was held back by Deneb when she tried to swing at the older man.
When Maractus finally calmed down, Deneb finally got a chance to sigh at their situation. They had no idea where they were, and no idea how to get to a place that could possibly lead them to civilization. In the desert, his parents would always have a device that could help them navigate the sands. Even then they'd still have a good old fashioned map, just in case.
"You don't happen to have a Pokenav, or a map, or something, do you?"

Well, it seem liked that lot had other things to do than to try and follow Leon to the police station. So be it… fools will always be fools it seems… and while the other trainers enjoyed a nice night out by the oasis. Leon enjoyed a nice night camping out in the police station as a guest. Quite literally a guest. Instead of setting him up in a cell, they had set up a cot in one of the empty offices.
The solice even gave him a chance to call his family in the morning.
“Hey mom,” Leon hummed as the other end was finally picked up. He lifted one of his books, and began to read over something pretty dry. Electronic circuits and computer loic. Grand and boring it was as it was all just concept. But hey… interesting doesn’t get you into a university, you do interesting in the university.
“Leon! You’re alright!?”
“Well everythings attached, and my partner got really roughed up. But yes… so far everything is somewhere along that definition. I guess a bit of mental scaring here and there after witnessing a dead body and a man on fire.”
“A dead body? And you’re saying that calmly?” “….” Leon really didn’t have much of a response. “Yeah, an officer’s child alright. Let me guess, you’re just not thinking about it?”
“S-something like that…” Leon hissed… really wishing he could forget about that.
“Right. Anyways, you said partner right? I’m assuming that you mean a pokemon?”
“Y-yeah! A treecko.”
There was a silence for a moment… and then a roar of laughter.
“Am… I missing something?”
“No no! It’s just it’s just like you! The quiet loner.”
“I’m not a loner.”
“Pft please! How many other friends have you made?”

Before Ian knew it, it was his turn. After watching the last few battles, he at least had an idea how this should play out. Sneasel being an ice type should give him a very feeble, yet still notable advantage.
Even knowing that, he acknowledged that this would definitely be an uphill battle. Being a trainer that had only fought once facing a gym leader that had battled untold opponents meant that he was seriously outclassed as far as experience went. At least he knew that Sneasel and he worked together fairly well.
Observing the last few battles led Ian to believe that his opponent would probably use Drilbur. Letting Sneasel out of her Pokeball, he patted her on the head.
Homer sent out Drilbur as was expected. The little mole Pokemon seemed ready to go.
"Ready?" Ian asked both his own Pokemon and his opponent. Sneasel nodded without taking her eyes off the mole-like Pokemon in front of her. "Alright, scratch!" Ian said, deciding to start with the basics.
"Metal Claw", Drilbur clashed against Sneasel's claws with a Metal Claw, matching blow for blow before looking for an opening.
"Alright, follow up with ice punch." Ian said calmly. That Metal Claw was a dangerous move to clash with, and it would definitely be best for Sneasel to force her opponent back. She swung the ice covered claw directly towards Drilbur's face.
"Back away! Then Fury Swipes!", the move Ice Punch was a dangerous move for Drilbur to take, though they were quite close, so the Drilbur would be grazed by it, taking some damage, but immediately afterwards would go back in with a flurry of claws. It was surprising to Homer that the Sneasel knew Ice Punch.
"Get out of there, quick!" Ian shouted, Sneasel managed to evade the worst of the attack despite being struck a few times. "Now, leer!" He said, hoping to lower the Drilbur's defense enough to make the next Ice Punch a bit more effective. Sneasel's eyes narrowed at her opponent in an attempt to scare it slightly.
"Now Metal Claw!", the gym leader could see the Ice Punch coming, but it would not be a good sport to just avoid it entirely. Let's see what the Sneasel is made of. The Drilbur went in with full force on the Metal Claw.
"Jump!" Ian shouted at his Sneasel. He knew that her defense was choppy at best, and a direct hit like that would be devastating. Her speed barely allowed her to maneuver above the attack. "Hit it with an Ice Punch from above!" Her claw glowing white and gaining a few icy particles around it, she used the downward momentum to attempt to land a direct hit.
"What?!", it seems the trainer was smart too. The order to jump allowed Sneasel to move out of the way of the Drilbur's Metal Claw.
"Raise it to your head!", there was no way Drilbur was going to have time to move away, so instead to brace for the Ice Punch, it would guard itself with its Metal Claw.
The two Pokemon's attacks clashed with ice and sparks scattering around them. After the brief impact, Sneasel dropped to the ground and backed off slightly.
"Okay Sneasel, use taunt. Get it to come to you!" Ian said. Hopefully the Ice Punch from before had still done at least a bit of damage, if he could lure the Drilbur in close, it might be possible to outmanuever it again and get a decisive blow.
"Metal Claw again",, the Drilbur didn't really have any other types of moves, all damage dealing moves only as it went in with Metal Claw again.
"Back off and counter it with an ice punch!" Ian said only moments before the Metal Claw would have hit. The blow still grazed Sneasel, but it was certainly more manageable than it would have been otherwise. Charging back into the fray with yet another Ice Punch at the ready, Sneasel attacked at full speed.
After it's attack missed, the Drilbur was vulnerable to a rapid counter-attack, taking the full speed Ice Punch head on. It would not be able to withstand it as it was sent flying back, frost and chill surrounding it as it fainted.
"Not bad kid, good work Drilbur", he said, returning the Drilbur to it's Pokeball as he pulled out another. He sent out a Diglett.
"Well, let's see how you handle this little guy... Magnitude, keep it light",, the Diglett immediately called forth a small tremor, before silently slipping away underground.
That wasn't good, Sneasel was already a bit tired from the previous bout and it was showing, if only slightly. Thankfully, the light attack from Diglett wasn't out of her league as she managed to stand her ground. A smaller opponent like Diglett would be much harder to hit than the Drilbur from before. If Sneasel was to have any chance, Ian would have to be more strategic and she would have to outspeed it.
"Taunt it! We can't let them get the upper hand." Ian said trying to stay calm. He still wasn't used to battling, especially not at this level. Sneasel let out a few shouts that sounded a bit like insults towards her underground opponent.
For a moment it seemed as if the Diglett didn't hear it, it was an awkward silence, and then broken as Diglett erupted from the ground with a Mud Slap.
"Move!" Ian shouted, if Sneasel was slowed down like that it could spell doom for this battle. Barely managing to evade the fairly predictable attack, Sneasel tried to get a lock on her opponent.
"Leer it down!" Ian said as Sneasel's eyes locked with the Diglett. This way, hopefully, it would only take one good Ice Punch.
"Sand Attack, then submerge", as the Sneasel leered down the Diglett, it got a nice wad of sand coming it's way before the Diglett disappeared as soon as it lost track of it. It wasn't coming out with a new attack... Was it waiting for something?
"No!" Ian shouted as the sand hit Sneasel in the eyes. While it wouldn't totally cripple her, the distraction removed one of the best chances she had to attack. Maybe he had been a bit too patient.
As Sneasel rubbed her eyes furiously, she moved around erratically in order to evade any attacks made while she was indisposed. Now they would have to wait for another opportunity. After a few moments, Sneasel regained the ability to at least squint.
"Scratch", the Diglett appeared inches away from Sneasel from the front, and below, a silver flash could be seen as it's often-unseen claws swing up at Sneasel from below.
"Match it with Ice Punch!" Ian shouted. Even with her vision obscured, at this range it wouldn't be too difficult to land a hit, even if Sneasel had to take a bit of one herself. Her claw glowing again, she swung back at the source of the scratch.
"Follow with Mud Slap!", with Sneasel's speed, there was no doubt Diglett was going to take that Ice Punch head on, the best bet is to see if the Mud Slap can take the Sneasel down with it. But an Ice Punch after Leer, with Diglett as fragile as it was, was taken down in that crucial moment.
The decision for Sneasel to trade through was a well-made decision, paying off with Ian's victory, as the Diglett was returned to its Pokeball.
"Yes." Ian said simply, approaching Sneasel to pet her. The battle had been hard fought, but with quite a bit of luck they had pulled through. Sneasel, despite her usual nature leaned into her trainer's hand and smiled.
"You did great, I can see the Sneasal is still pretty new, but it has a lot of potential. Here, in honor of your first victory in a gym battle, I confer to you the Desert Badge", he said, taking out a small badge from a case he seems to carry around. The badge had the design of desert dunes as its name implies.
"Be as open as the desert, and your horizons will stretch ever-further... Or at least that's what I think it all means. Anyways, have this as well", he pulled out a disk drive, it was a TM.
"This is TM28, it contains Dig. Do with it as you like, might be helpful in a cave somewhere. Good luck in your next battles", and with that, Ian was free to do as he pleased.
"Thanks." Ian said before returning to the others, smiling quietly to himself after the victory.
Healing up at the police station as they had the healing machine until the Pokemon Center was back up and running, which when he asked, was estimated tomorrow afternoon it would be open, but construction would still be going for another day or two in order to finish the rest of the facilities. He can believe that, they'd made incredible progress in a small span of a few hours. He headed back to camp, and was wondering what should be made for lunch, although... He seemed to be mostly the only one here.
He walked back here with Leo, who he ran into at the police station.
"So, Leo was it? Should we make some lunch for everyone coming back soon? Beating the gym leader's given me quite a bit of money", he asked.

Leon looked up when he heard a voice and quickly raised a finger to hush him for a moment while his mother continued to talk on the other line.
“Anyways hunny, I want you to be careful. This lot, who ever the hell they are… apparently are more blood thirsty than the rest of the teams. It seems they’ve been using terroristic actions to further their cause. Which we can only assume mayhem at this point. The city police chief is making us crack down on security… sooo cops are on edge.”
Leo listened continued to listen quietly as he leaned back in his chair. His eyes turning away from Rylen to look up to the ceiling for a moment. And then closed his eyes.
“And Leon, I want you to be careful. Don’t try to be a hero, and if you don’t got an option fight back tooth and nail. It seems times have changed a lot from just “demonstrations” involving professional robberies. Now it’s just every mother ****er with a gun has something to say.”
“Yes Ma’am,” Leon said solemnly as he opened his eyes.
“Good good! Well, I love you. I need to get back to work.”
“Alright then, I love you too.” With that, the aspiring engineer placed the phone back on the hook and gave maple –whom was fast asleep in his lap- a pat on the head. He took a moment to think, and then turned his attention back to Rylen.
“Right then! You still remember my name! That’s good! Though you still have me at a disadvantage, and so does your entire group. Which begs the question... why ask a stranger to help you make lunch for associates whom are still strangers to the stranger?”
Leo posed a good question... Why? He placed his hand on his chin for awhile, glancing around a bit before coming back to Leo, and just shrugged.
"I guess, why not?", he finally responded.
"Besides, we all get lunch out of it, if you have other things to do, you can do them after eating. It's more fun eating in a group after all", he reasoned. Regardless he won't force him to, he was just hungry. More people helping means easier time.
"Actually. I think I..." Charlie pulled out a soaking wet Pokénav out of his pocket, water gushing out when he opened it. "Do. Well I officially have no clue what to do. We're stuck on some random island... Almost died, and... What's that?" He pointed to a shine among the trees. He started to run along the coastline, trying to see through the trees better, and then he saw it in clear view; a silver antenna poking through the tree line. "C'mon."

Hotaru had both her pokemon out while she walked the Dune city. Nephrite the houndour walking right beside her on her left while she held Zed the Gastly in her arms. She looked like a girl carrying a giant ball. Zed wasn't that big but he sure was larger then the average Gastly. She looked to her two pokemon and wondered how long it would take to get one of them to evolve. She just shrugged and figured they will when they are ready. She began to walk by the market and took a slight glance. Then she saw it,... hanging from one of the displays. It was a very well made bonnet and she wanted it. She reached into her pocket and saw that she did make a good amount of money back their off the gym leader as well. Well according to her poke nav she did. She liked that such a thing could be electronically counted and saved. Beat hauling it around and some asshole pick pocketing.
She walked over to the stall and pointed to it. "Mam? how much are you selling the bonnet for?" she asked. The merchant looked to and then to the bonnet. "300,..." She answered. Hotaru smiled and then pulled out her poke nav. The merchant in turn pulled forth some sort of scanner and the money was electronically transferred with a beep. Just like those apps they got now. She then looked to her two pokemon and looked at the other stalls. She felt selfish just buying something for herself. She of course so a pokeblock stall and thought that would do the trick. She lifted up her Bonnet and placed it upon her head and walked right towards it.
She began to wonder what the others where doing?... probably still hanging around the park for all she knew.
