There are plenty of cars, which have stopped in the middle of the road. Their headlights are still functional, and some of them are still on, although many of them crashed after the sudden death of their drivers.

As Dark Maka watches, more stas go out. There's only a few million galaxies left, and the Darkness isn't done.

Soon, Maka senses the Darkness approaching. Whatever you've got, use it. Now.

Dark maka: here goes nothing... *the lantern lights up. Emitting a bright light that expands. Covering the remaining galaxies and moving towards the darkness. She winces as the light burns her* this better work...

Exactly nine point five miles from Dark Maka's position, a swell in realities fabric causes a tear. Through it walks a lone sentinel, his face and body concealed behind what would appear to be a wizard's attire, he steps into the darkness. The creature's eyes can be seen, but the rest of his face seems to be shrouded in nothingness. He blinks twice, sensing the area around him for a moment before continuing his lonely pilgrimage.

He brings his left hand to his chest, his other extends a wooden staff horizontal to the ground. A purple helix forms, and from it a beam of strange energy fires into the darkness.

(This beam is meant to read the darkness, it takes samples from it and returns the data to Grey. It can be destructive to things of non magical make up, but it will not effect things that are fully magical.)

The creature awaits the beams return with patience.
