WIP WIP WIP
Don't normally post WIPs, but I've gotta go for a bit. Need to finish personality and history, and list her gear but for the most part everything else is done.
Standing at a fairly tall five foot eight, the young noble has a maintains a thin, but healthy frame with some muscles that show she at least works out somewhat, and manages to maintain a soft beauty about her. Laura sports long, beautiful pale colored hair typical of the Beaumonts, that falls to her waist and usually allowed to hang freely. Her eyes are the color of amber, and she has a pale complexion one might expect of any noble that spends more days relaxing indoors rather than working outside.
One quirk she has, are her canines which are unusually long, though don't seem to be too out of the ordinary...well, unless you by into those rumors surrounding the Beaumonts.
As far as clothing, most of the time she wears thin armor made of thin metal plates. Its not designed to stop blows at all, but rather to allow for quick and swift movement whilst offering a decent amount of protection. Its not going to stand up to plate armor, but it still offers respectable physical defense. The armor itself is a gold color, and conforms nicely to her body. At either of her side rests two short blades.

Personality Information
Confident, Self Assured, and a bit of a stickler for law and order would perfectly describe Cia. She can come off as a rather serious person most of the time, though not entirely unfriendly. She speaks with civility, formality, and with tact and grace that one might expect of a noble. Even to those she doesn't entirely like, she still speaks with an air of formality and grace.
However - that's not saying she's friendly. Not at all. For one, she greatly dislikes the more 'brutish' and 'inelegant' races, believe them to be nothing more than barbarians. Of course, that is simply part of her upbringing and while she dislikes them she doesn't actively hate nor discriminate - just expect obvious displeasure at working with them, and possibly a few words about their behaviors. This nature also extends to anyone who goes around 'swinging giant metal sticks like madmen'.
In some ways she is also quiet naive. She has never once set foot outside of Malgrave and the forest surrounding it. As such, she has no knowledge of the world outside, nor any real knowledge of the races outside aside from what she has learned within the walls.
Brief Backstory
Raised within the confines of the Beaumont castle, Malgrave Laura has had a fairly...interesting life growing up. Nobles in their name only, and not officially recognized as nobility my any country or city made for a somewhat interesting life growing up for her. She had to learn quite quickly, that the world was not a friendly place for her and her relatives as she learned of the mission of those of the Malgrave castle.
The hunting of Beasts.
Specifically, werewolves and their ilk, those who would practice dark magic, and the very creature they are supposedly descended from: Vampires. It was definitely a daunting mission to use shadows, subterfuge and the very things those considered 'evil' to bring that 'evil' to justice. Fight Fire with Fire, as they say. However, they see it as a noble task only ones who are tainted by the dark can ever truly accomplish. Most do it with reluctant vigor, taking pride that they are putting to rest those who have become corrupted by evil.
Now that she is considered to be of age herself, she is free to come and go from the castle as she wishes, to hunt things deemed 'evil' or 'dark'. This serves two purposes - strengthen her own skills, master her blood, and bring light to the dark.
Current Events
Currently, heading south while keeping her identity mostly under wraps. She has heard tell of dark beasts in the area, and seeks to find the source and eliminate it. With a group of people, or alone. She is hesitant to work with others, however, as she is very well aware of the stigma attached with her family name.
Skills
Rogue:
Laura could be best described as a rogue of sorts. While not the honorless sort, and she still holds a knights code about fighting she isn't too keen on the whole sword and shield act, preferring to maintain an active fighting style rather that turtling behind a shield - an aspect one might find on anyone of the Beumont line, as they believe shields, large slow moving weapons, engender passivity and are too brutal and violent to be used. They prefer more elegant weapons to dispose of their foes - rapiers, daggers, or any weapon that would require more skill than brute strength.
- Because of her training, she is quick on her feet, swift in her assaults and can usually cut down an enemy before they even realize what had happened.
- Additionally, she has trained to be somewhat of an acrobat. While she's not going to be jumping off walls, she's got very good footwork one might expect of a martial artist, and can take falls from one or two stories fairly well with some small difficulty, and move fairly quickly and silently.
- Is somewhat skilled in breaking and entering, and detecting traps of the non-magical sort. She's not some master lockpicker, but her deft hands means she can handle your average lock or so, if given enough time.
Blood Magic
- An inherent trait granted by her Vampiric Blood. While its long since been greatly diluted to the point of offering only a small inherent skill in it, if properly trained she could probably become quite proficient with it. At the moment, she can only heal small wounds on herself by using blood to stitch them together, and is able to draw spilled blood towards her in a small radius around her.
Vampiric Ancestry:
She has a vampiric ancestry. Most people of the Beaumont line do. While its nothing publicly known, there are tons of rumors surrounding them. While over time this had been greatly diluted, and they are a far cry from an actual 'vampire'. it still means she is much more physically fit than most people without even having to try. Strength, Stamina, Endurance, and also bestows some minor help in seeing in low-light conditions, though pitch darkness and extreme low light conditions will prove as troubling for her as the normal person.
Unfortunately, it does not grant them the natural healing and other abilities - just makes them all round healthier than most. She still suffers from everything a human does, and will die just as easily as them.
Gear
- Her armor. As stated above, its not designed to stop heavy blows, but rather allow for a decent mix of movement and protection against light attacks. It's surprisingly silent, and is suited for stealth.
-Two Blades standard fare for any Beaumont. They are roughly a foot long, elegant and simply designed, but functional and incredibly deadly in the right hands.
-A thick cloak to keep one warm.
-A belt with various pouches to keep items.
Ect
Is a fairly competent cook, surprisingly.
Likes wine, will often drink if capable.
On the Origins of the Beaumont and Malgrave Castle.
To understand the Beaumont, one must realize their family ancestry and history plays a huge part in who they are today. Of course, if you believe the rumors then they are simply a detestable clan of vampires. Of course, if you ask them they will deny such accusations, and say that they merely are distantly related to the foul creatures, but they have more or less accepted that actions in the past have labeled them as such.
As they tell it, once, they were a tribe of humans living in the forests in what is today Conra. The tribe, was beset upon by a malevolent force - beastly things that infected their own kin and turned them against themselves. They tried fighting back, but it was futile. Just when everything seemed lost, a woman strolled into their home, and said that she could rid them of their beasts that they so hated. Feeling like they had no other options left, they accepted the odd woman's proposal.
True to her word, with the help of this woman they were able to defeat the beasts and drive them out of their forest. Eventually, the chieftain married the woman, and had a three children. All of which, were as equally as beautiful as she. Around twenty years later, however...they were beset by another creature. As it turns out, the woman was a creature of a different sort.
A Vampire.
Upon discovering his mother feasting on the corpse of his father, the first born slew the creature with the help of his siblings in a moment of panic. It was then, the three decided to dedicate their lives to eradicating these foul creatures - they would master their own blood and put a stop from these creatures hurting anyone else.
Over time, the vampiric blood has diluted to the point where they can hardly be called vampires. They still bare some of the traits of their inhuman ancestor, and are quite well aware of the stigma attached to it.
Today the castle is a...odd place, to those that live outside of it. Occasionally, the residents will hire servants, stable hands, and other such positions. Only the most desperate tend to take them, however.
