So yeah, I'm sticking to my guns here for reasons and won't post until GM returns rather than invest myself in a game that might actually not be going anywhere. Feel free to assume my character's currently busy tussling with enraged owls who don't take kindly to being swatted at so your characters can interact normally away from a flock of screeching birds with no one controlling them.

I apologize to everyone, but given how much real life has affected me and my family, as most of you have noticed, I no longer have the time to manage this RP. Therefore, as of now, the RP is going to be on hiatus until further notice. The most I could accomplish for the past few days was just check on the OOC; I doubt that my efforts amounted to much. It was fun while it lasted; I had a few things prepared for you guys, but I suppose that doesn't matter anymore. I'm sorry for this unfortunate news.

I really did enjoy this RP for the weeks it lasted. It had good potential, and the cast of character ls were diversified and interesting.

Hey there guys, things are starting to look better on this part of the world. I might be able to make a come back soon.

Anyway, I was just wondering, it could just be me, but I know that the lack of activity from my part in the RP kinda killed the hype around it. Just wanted to find out what your comments would be on a possible remake of the RP. The things that I'd probably change would be the setting and the how magic is utilized. Setting-wise, we could make use of a more medieval-fantasy type of setting; magic would still be scarce. As for how magic would be used, instead of manifesting it from their bodies, all characters would have some sort of "item of power" which they draw their ability from. Comments?

I am completely on board if you wanted to get this going again.

I am also completely on board if you wanted to scrap this (though I'd personally think it a shame) and start a remake. That said, I think it'd be simpler to have magic originate from the person and not a required object. Artifacts and whatnot that augment a character's powers could certainly come into play, but I like the convention of having the character be the magical source.

In any case, I'm very glad to hear things are improving for you. Welcome back, however tentatively.

@January Being away from the RP for weeks kinda killed my inspiration for this, but I'm juggling with ideas to give me that push I need.

Its more of a manifestation of their magic and not really a random object. If I used Akasha as an example, maybe her item of power would manifest as a necklace that would allow her to transform. The better she becomes at using it, the more her necklace would change in appearance. Or maybe more jewelry would appear around her body. The main source of magic would still be one's body but it initially manifests as some sort of object.

Honestly speaking I kind of liked the modern elements, even if you didn't exactly go anywhere with them. It could've made for something interesting. Anyway, I wouldn't exactly be against a medieval setting since it wouldn't change too much. The items of power idea sounds interesting but may carry its own set of difficulties. In summary I wouldn't exactly be against those ideas, but I'm a bit worried about it.

Items of power are a lot easier to think up of cool stuff with for me, and that's all I really care about, in the end. It sounds like it'd be easier to regulate as well, I think it's a good idea.

I'll just type up the remade version of the opening OOC post and maybe you'll feel a little bit better on the possible change we'll be having. I mean, I enjoy listening to the comments here in the OOC. If majority aren't too keen on the change, we can always just stick to what we have. This is just me trying something new. Hopefully, it'll end up being more fun for everyone.

It wouldn't be an academy per se, but still an institution that focuses on catering those who can use magic. I guess the word guild would be more fitting?

Man, it's awesome to have you back. Hope things aren't too rough where you are.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of medieval settings. It's a bit tedious to write in accordance with a foreign time period's mindsets, lifestyles, clothing, etc, though if it's a Fairy Tail style anachronistic setting then it makes things a lot easier and more interesting for me. That's just an opinion though, I'll gladly stick with Four Winds no matter what setting it's in. Donovan's douchebaggery and asshole-y shenanigans are far from over.

I'm keen for that idea of magical items, though would the mages be incapable of performing their magic if they were separated from their item?
