Yeah, with Invite Only communities its really a non-issue. The only thing you have to worry about with such communities is general activity.

I think even generally the off-topic thread is fine, apart from a few threads, the place is quite welcoming and friendly. I do think the bitchfest and unpopular opinions thread make a loud minority look bigger than it is.

I think there are a lot more threads then those two and the political ones that paint OT as it is often seen. But that is just my opinion.

I never directly spoke ill of the arena forum community (to be fair, I don't think @Gowi did that either in terms of speaking of them all as a whole, based on his first reply to you since this all started here), so no; I don't blame the arena forum for the dispute.

Also, while I am aware I'm contributing to this site and I've already got several people who would prefer I not leave (not to mention that I've built something of a small community of its own since I joined), I should make a point that this one dispute is not my complete motivation; I've been feeling rather intoxicated by certain people on this site (a couple of whom my comment about having an issue with "long-standing members" originated from) since pretty much the first day of my arrival.

Those people, together with a few pain in the ass disputes (and the fact that I've been distracted here to the point that I'm neither sleeping properly not am I getting work done on my project) has made me consider leaving. Admittedly, the individuals I find unpleasant are what's leaning me in the direction of leaving, but I have personal reasons as well. It's only a small group of people who are responsible for me even considering this place worth my time at this point, and several of them can now contact me off the site.

As for the off-topic forum, I've had mostly decent experience with it. Other than the fact that it's become clear to me that a lot of people on this site don't like reading the detailed walls of text I toss out (again, can I emphasize how hypocritical that is on a writing-focused website, because this point is continuing to boggle my mind), and therefore many simply don't read my posts, I've been able to provide rather decent advice and feedback to people in the discussion threads thus far. This thread is also in the off-topic, so I don't personally have negative experience with this section of the site outside of one moment in the "bitchfest" thread where I had to tell off people for being dipshits. As for the spam forum; my experience of it is (and will remain) limited to the games.

That arena folks are more abrasive and confrontational because they enjoy writing about combat which is unfair to people who write for fantasy and escapism in general , that would be like tarring everyone in 1x1 perverts because a large majority of them like to write about sex/smut. But as long as we are clear we are talking about a minority that exist on all aspects of this site, then I dont have a real issue.

Again, I'm not aware enough of the particularity of your issues with people on the site, to really comment, but I would hope you don't leave. Especially because it helps to balance out the chaos of the idiocy of some people the guild with more reasonable types such as yourself.

Don't misunderstand me; I don't think his wording was perfectly selected either (I don't think anyone words themselves ideally in most situations; I know I'm tactless but that's due to my hatred of masks resulting in me being very forthright), in fact that's why I answered him the way I did initially, but from my perspective he's taken the time to explain himself since then.

To be fair, I'm running on another day without sleep here and I might be missing some things (normally I'm all about the details), but I understand that your primary concern is unfair generalizations, and I agree with that; I'd have participated in the arena forum myself if I didn't both despise forums that keep "Win/Lose/Draw" records (harbours a negative attitude) and also tend to have characters that are far too "broken" for most role-play scenarios.

As for your comment about me being reasonable, I appreciate it. I do consider myself something of a leader and a strategist, but I don't know if I'd call myself much of a "diplomat" since I'm a bit too blunt to be a politician. Either way, I despise hypocrisy and I'm the type of person who insists things remain fair and just; so I won't be picking a side I think is wrong just because a friend happens to be on it.

It was good when I woke, stayed like that for awhile, homework and constantly being bothered and annoyed killed it for a few hours, it's been back for awhile now, just doing whatever and chilling with Shadow in VC. How about on your end?

On a side note, I felt I had to add my two cents into the discussion that Shoryu was part of on that arena thread just because everything that BrokenPromise person was saying was hitting a nerve with me. I really dislike people who go 'sorry/not sorry' and act like they did or said nothing wrong, then refuse to listen to what anyone else says like an entitled toddler.
