That's what I was saying. Big does not equal slow; rather, muscles equal speed. A big strong orc is both fast and powerful. Add training to the mix, and he becomes almost unbeatable in close combat.

No, what I said was, I would argue that statement. I've seen very large men who were slow as hell. Speed is acceleration times mass. The more mass the more acceleration there must be which means you would require a significant increase in energy output. Watch UFC and compare Bantamweight to Heavyweight. :)

I see what you're saying. But muscles aren't just dead weight - they're power weight. An 8-cylinder engine is bigger than a 4-cylinder engine, but that doesn't make it slower; that makes it faster. Putting an 8-cylinder engine in a car that can't use it might make it slower, though. And 8-cylinder engines are greater fuel hogs than 4-cylinder engines, so it has greater fuel requirements.

The only reason a muscular orc would be slower than a less-muscular human would be if he didn't eat enough.

I believe this comes down to muscle distribution and training. A top heavy Orc/person is going to move slower than someone with less overall muscle, but with trained, flexible bodies.

If you're not trained to fight something fast, you're less likely to be fast.

I mean, it's your RP so you can do whatever you want, haha, but your logic here is flawed. Of course, I'm talking in a literal, realistic sense. Having bigger muscles does not mean you're necessarily stronger than someone smaller, simply larger mass. It's physics/biology but, again, neither here nor there. :P

Well, it's the same idea as a body builder versus a runner physique. A body builder will obviously be larger and weigh more, but have him compete in a run with someone like Usain Bolt who is obviously far smaller is going to lose. Not because one is stronger than the other as it comes down to numbers. The more mass an object has the greater the energy expenditure must be to maintain a constant speed or velocity.

He extended a hand to shake.

Tiberius just walked away. You know that, right?

I'll have something up when I get off work. Certainly a lot to comment on.
Sorry Gorman, Sir Dashing McNot-Wearing-guts needs Kaite.

The Captain would miss him too much. She's quite fond of her lieutenant.

"Oh right!" :D

I'm not sure I fully understand how Kaite understood the confrontation between Gorman and Tiberius. It sounds like she disapproved of how Gorman responded, despite the fact that it was Tiberius who was being all aggressive. Gorman was sufficiently agitated that, were he a lesser orc, he would have already drawn his weapon and taken off Tiberius' head. That he only slapped the knight showed considerable restraint on his part.

She's a knight, too, and it works differently between races. Still, I probably should have added a bit about being disappointed in Tiberius's blind assumptions, walking into the situation.
Idk, it was a bunch of internal faff. I was busy getting ready for tomorrow and didn't think it through very well. >_<

Just goes to show how deeply ingrained is the racism against orcs. When humans get mad at orcs, we sympathize. When orcs get mad at humans, we call it brutality. This could be an interesting concept to explore. ^_^
