@Lauder No, it's too bright and cheery! Marlon Brando is obviously a fall color. :P
Seriously though, that works great. Thank you for the change so very much. Move him over to the CS tab and you can get started on the relations sheet for those npc's mentioned in his cs and pm whom you feel might be acquainted with him.
@Lady AmaltheaxD and here I thought I went through it like 4 times to check it for errors xD but hten again Crane and Crypt are 5 letter names starting with cr so ehh... xD
1) I have updated the approved character list on the original OOC post. 2) I have also updated the music listing to include all approved characters themes to the play list. 3) Make sure to get those relations done for your NPC's if you haven't already. 4) Once you have your relations to a point you think you are good to go - tag me so I can mark you ready to start the RP. 5) I am hoping to start this RP by Monday, if you are not ready by then, don't worry. (Those that have Rped with me before know I can work in characters at any point) 6) If you do not already have the "RP Tavern" Chat Room link - PM me for it.
Name: Nathan Edward Darcy Social Class: Gentry (Knight) Age: 31 Birthday: Feb-12, 1792 Nationality: Welsh Birth Place: Swansea, Wales Residence: Dartfire Estate, Rother, Sussex, England Gender: Male Education: Private Education Income Source: Inheritance Native Language: English
Appearance
Height: 6'1" Weight: 176lbs Build: Muscular, Athletic Eyes: Blue, thin almond shape Hair: Dark Brown, short and straight. Skin Tone: Sunkissed Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: Japanese characters Tattoo'd across back. Personal Style: In a private setting, Nathan tends to dress in particularly oriental clothing such as a Kimono, particularly in line with much of the training and upbringing he has received. However, when he goes out and is among the company of others of his station, he wears more appropriate clothing, trousers, shirts and jackets which suit his station, not too overly expensvie but certainly not a paupers clothing. Overall, he chooses comfort over anything, however.
Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Single Personality: What one would expect from Nathan through looks is more or less not what one would get. The influence on Nathan from spending much of his life away from home in Japan shows, as he adopts much of Japanese culture and mannerism into his general personality. A remarkably polite man, Nathan is soft-spoken, but knows very well how to make himself known if the situation requires it. Above all, Nathan admires Honour, and his view of this can be very narrow and restricting, it is rare for someone to entirely fit within his categorization. When discussing Honour and its merits, Nathan is prone to becoming overly philosophical, and it can be difficult to hold a conversation with him without him making something of a pretentious comment, making him somewhat frustrating.
Whenever and wherever he can, Nathan seeks to help whoever he may, always viewing the good in people where he can, Nathan is an immensely kind and caring individual, just as content to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with an enemy as with a friend. This kindness can go to extreme lengths though, falling in line with his own codes of honour, Nathan will go through anything to assist others, even putting himself at extreme risk. However, this makes him an incredibly loyal individual, particularly to those he is close with, as there is nothing he would not to for those he is close to. Getting so close to him can be difficult however, ever the recluse, Nathan prefers to remain in the background, quietly observing as opposed to speaking out. Habits:

History
Family History: If one looks back far enough, the respected and honourable Darcy family has a far more cruel, almost barbaric history. Once a number of bandits and raiders, the Darcy's were eventually hired by different lords, becoming mercenaries renowned for their excellent skill as fighters and leaders. Although for a long time they were not 'knights' or indebted to any one lord or family, they eventually became members of the Landed Gentry, granted a Keep in Southern Wales.
Since then, the Darcy family has grown in their standing, taking on far more honourable roles as knights, training soldiers and fighters across Great Britain for the Crown. Still they hold an immense reputation for their ability to fight, and the name 'Darcy' has become so known across the British Isles for such ability.
Your personal life: The youngest born, and least physically capable son born to his parents, Nathan's father was met with a dilemma to do in regards to the child. Wishing to retain his family's reputation, but not wishing to shun or hide his child from the world if he did not meet those expectations, his father instead decided to send Nathan far away for training, in the hope that his weak childhood would be turned around, and to get rid of him if it did not.
Arriving in Japan at only age seven, Nathan was brought to train with the Shimazu swordsmen and was placed under the tutelage of Kouki Shimazu, a former Samurai and Buddhist monk. Kouki spent a great deal of time training Nathan's mind before he ever touched a sword. Nathan was provided an education in science, history, philosophy and religion, shaping the man he would become and the culture he would surround himself in for much of his life. By the time he had turned twelve, Nathan had still never touched a sword, but had already trained both his body and his mind to fit among the Shimazu.
Nathan exceeded expectations when he finally began to train with a blade at age thirteen, matching his first opponents, he was quickly brought to higher and higher levels as he seemed to quickly understand and take to heart the advice and instruction he was given. Nathan trained with a variety of different blades, taught by different Shimazu swordmasters, but he was always tutored first and foremost by Kouki, who had so far done exactly as he had hoped, by shaping the young student into a swordsman before he had ever touched a blade.
By the time he turned eighteen, Nathan had reached the point where his training was complete and he could not be trained further. To congratulate him, Kouki gave Nathan his old Samurai armour as a gift, which Nathan wore through much of the rest of his time in Japan. He did not return to Wales for a while after his training was complete. Wandering across Japan, he sought to hone his skills further by working as a Samurai, helping small towns with local bandits or lords with feuds and disputes. Nathan eventually spent some time in the seclusion of the mountains, converting to Shinto and spending much of his time among the Ikko-Ikki monks.
When he finally returned, Nathan was vastly different to the rest of his family, and he found himself immensely detached, as few of them really fit into his consideration of what was honourable. Eventually, he chose to leave Wales, using the inheritance his father had still provided him with to build an estate for himself in Sussex, settling down to spend his days in meditation and practice.
What you want for your life: Nathan's desire in life is simple. He has no particular desire for anything material, nor for any major plans such as marriage or children, though he would not be opposed to them. Rather, Nathan simply wishes to return to Japan, into the mountain monasteries where he had spent much of his time in peace. He simply wishes to remain in peace, meditating and practicing, away from the evil and darkness of the world.
Extras
Character Quote(s): "Action is always greater than inaction." Theme Song:MUSE - Knights of Cydonia Anything Else:
Nathan converted to, and is an avid follower of Shinto-Buddhist beliefs following his time in Japan.
Mail call. The most painfully dull, slow, inefficient and generally unneeded aspect of the German Army, or any military organization for that matter. To some of the others in his squad, returning from a long field exercise to the mail which had been held from them was a welcome treat, but Joel just wanted to find an actual, comfortable bed and fall asleep.
"Obergefreiter Gott." The Administrative Corporal droned on as he went down the list in his hand, a small stack of letters in his hand.
"Ja." An equally droning voice sounded from beside Joel, the man in question. He received his mail and moved off away from the group, idly flicking through bills and junk mail for anything of actual interest. The second he was out of his peripherals, Joel didn't care, he just wanted to hear his name so he could go to his bunk and pass out.
"Hauptgefreiter Grau." The Corporal continued with the next name - the one Joel had been waiting for, he glanced momentarily to the man's hand, he held a selection of letters, but under-arm was a box, intricately carved with golden latches - he wasn't one for antiques, so he doubted it had been sent to him as any sort of gift, but he didn't know anyone who would send packages in such a manner.
"Ja." Joel finally responded, moving toward the Corporal to retrieve his mail. Originally he couldn't have cared less what his mail was, but as he carried it back toward his bunk and looked over the box - ignoring the confused glances and stares from the others in the barrack - he built quite the intrigue toward it. Tossing aside his other letters as insignificant in comparison, Joel sat down on his bunk, setting the box in his lap, he figured if it had made it this far into the base he resided in, it wasn't dangerous to any degree. Or, rather, Joel assumed it wasn't dangerous.
Gently, he set his finger and thumb on the gold pin, pulling it from the latch as he slowly and delicately lifted the lid, peering within. This was seeming less and less like something that would've been intended for him. Crimson velvet padded lining, and a trifolded piece of thick paper? This was an awfully over-complicated way for someone to be sending him a letter. But it was certainly not a letter, as Joel soon realised. Opening it, he had to do a double take as he looked over the two tickets he held, from Munich to Paris, and a boarding pass for the Orient Express.
Congratulations! You are one of the lucky few that was picked to be the winner of this prestigious tour! You leave on March 14th from your city and will arrive in Paris on the 15th. There you will meet the rest of the winners at the Saint James Paris! You're accommodations are completely provided! Travel, fares, food, all are covered. On the 17th you will disembark from Paris on the legendary Orient Express for a tour of Europe and into the Carpathian Mountains! We cannot wait to see you, anything you need will be provided. A Black Status Card has provided for you to purchase anything you might need. I look forward to meeting you on the Orient Express.
Sincerely, Your Provider
As he sat and read the letter, Joel gathered somewhat of an audience, a few of his friends and comrades moving over to his bunk to peer over his shoulder at what was before him, a few unimpressed or unknowing 'huh' sounds coming from the majority as they moved on to other things. Joel, on the other hand, was simply confused. Why had he been picked? He'd been told a while ago that he should take some leave, the man hadn't since his third deployment, so he certainly would have been able to get the time off for this little 'vacation' - but Joel still groaned.
"How do I even explain this to the Oberleutnant?"
*By submitting this CS in its completion I am stating I have read all the rules for this Rp and am agreeing to follow them to the fullest with respect and courtesy. I acknowledge that I can and will be removed from the RP without warning if I break a rule or cause problems with my fellow Rpers or the GM.
@Pundii First thought that went through my head when I saw where he was from -
And on that note - he is good to go, move him on over to the Cs tab, then go ahead with the NPC relations tied to the CS and pm those you want to work out for PC relations
Alright my illustrious peeps, this is where we stand currently - We have 8 characters to start - Not bad!
Millicent Wyndham (Lady A) Virginia Crypt (Morose) Jeanette Crane (Rivaan) Fyror Kildragon (mnkee) Mary Hail (Sigil) Gerard Connolly (Sputnik) Jaques Clerc (Lauder) Nathan Darcy (Pundii)
Now, currently - Only Millicent and Jeanette are good to go to start the RP. (They have the minimal NonNPC relations worked out or more)
Virginia and Fyror both need 1 more apiece to begin.
Mary, Gerard, Jaques, and Nathan all need 2 more. (Though pretty sure some of you have something worked out you just haven't had a chance to post it yet)
Now remember, have to have those up before your character is cleared to start once the IC goes up. Sooner those are done the sooner we begin. We are aiming to start by Monday. Tag me once those are up ^_^
So, just throwing this out there for the sake of PC relations - Are any of your characters Catholic, live in Holbrook, West End, or Cheapside neighborhoods of London, or otherwise have figured out any way in which they would have associated? I don't have a clue, looking at everyone's CSs.
The closest probable connection I can come up with so far is that Fyror, being in the military in all, would have at least heard about the Darcy family. I am not sure as to whether or not Fyror would have crossed paths with Nathan though. What do you think?
@Sigil Hmmm. I have a slightly hairbrained idea. Or several. -The Crypts aren't religious and they're quite odd, maybe the church suspected they were soulless and sent Mary to the manor -Virginia perhaps went to the church to ask if they had any way of determining where someone's spirit is (her parents were lost at sea) -Virginia has a bit of an oddness to her in general...She's honestly really weird, almost anything could work if you're interested in figuring something out
