Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: James' most notable scar is straight across his chest, one long silvery scratch, a gift from a long dead wolf.
Personal Style: James dresses like many of the lower end of the social spectrum. His clothes are generally on the more worn out side of things, though they work well enough for him. He prefers neutral colors to the bright pallets seen frequently among the more wealthy individuals in society. He prefers a well worn overcoat and black trousers, and a button up shirt with a grey vest to the few other outfits he does possess.
Intelligent * Stubborn * Resourceful * Reckless * Loyal * Arrogant
Sexuality: Bisexual - Aware but closeted.
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: James is living proof that intelligence comes in all shapes and sizes. For example, the boy can hardly read or write, but he can tell you anything you may want to know on killing Rynes. He's far less book smart, mainly because he can't read most books, but he's as street smart as they come. He has a thirst for knowledge, and is quite capable and eager to learn new things. However, those who know James aren't likely to list off his intelligence as his most admirable trait. Most know him for his loyalty to his comrades, as well as his fierce adherence to his own morals, ones which order him to stay true and honest.
James isn't all perfect though. He attacks life like he only has seconds to live, often diving into problems head first, without much planning. Part of this is his youthfulness, but a decent amount of it is just who he is. He could care less about dying, as long as it was worth something. Plenty of people have tried to rid James of his recklessness, but he's far too stubborn to listen to them. He's not ever going to change his mind because someone else tells him he's wrong. He'll figure that out for his damn self, thank you very much. Some describe this as arrogance, and rightfully so. James does in fact have a swagger to him, a way of acting like he's the most important person in the room, even though he's nothing more than an orphaned mercenary, and this is mostly a show put on by the young man, a shield to keep the outside firmly in it's place.
Habits: Bites nails, bites lip when thinking, frequently clenches and unclenches his hands.
Hobbies: Exploring, learning, fighting
Fears:- Tight Spaces - When James was sixteen, he fell through a frozen lake and became trapped under the ice. He remembers very vividly feeling closed in underwater, and struggling to free himself from below the frozen surface. He's had acute claustrophobia ever since.
- Spiders - No not the tiny little things. James does fine with those. We're talking the big ones, the ones with fur or some shit like that. Those terrify him.
- Snakes - Luckily, nasty snakes are fairly rare in England, but James isn't particularly keen on meeting any. He's heard some awful stories about those things.

Family History: The Deacons are an old family, though they've never been extremely prosperous. Hailing back to the days of the Tudors, it is said that William Deacon, the family's founder, was an adviser to King Henry, though this is largely believed to be a myth. William Deacon was likely a drunk who happened to start a long lasting family. Nothing more, nothing less.
James' father, Gideon Deacon, was a drunk if there ever was one, who lived on the outskirts of London. His mother, Louisa Deacon, had been a serving girl in a bar that Gideon frequented. Gideon, having no money and not likely to come into any, figured that his next step was to get married. And in one very drunken stupor, he did just that. The rest, is where James' story begins.
Your personal life: James was born hungry. He was raised hungry. Often times, he thinks he'll die hungry. Born to two parents who had never seen more than a few gold pieces at a time, James rarely ever felt a full stomach like those who danced their nights away in fanciful gowns. Poverty was a fact of life for him, and he learned to accept it. His parents did do their best, in their defense, but certain things can't be helped. He raised himself mostly, with his father either working or drunk, and his mother often taking on extra shifts at the bar just to keep food on the table. Life was nothing great, that much was certain.
When James was five, life got a whole lot worse. His parents were struck down in the night by a hungry Ryne while they staggered home, and James was left orphaned. Sent to an orphanage, James Deacon endured awful living conditions and cruel treatment from adults and other children alike. It was not what many would consider a fun time by any means. James was kept in the orphanage for nearly five years, and on his tenth birthday, he made his escape, fleeing into the streets of London.
James wasn't on the streets long. It was at this point in fact, where his life took a far different turn. Stowing away on a ship bound for Ireland, James was found quickly by the captain, and rather than being sent back to land and arrested, he was put to work as a cabin boy. Upon reaching the Irish Shore, James departed, choosing Ireland over the sea. It was here that he met Finnegan Macallister.
Finnegan was an older man, a former mercenary who'd amassed a good deal of money killing Soulless for money. He found James and took him in, seeing in him a potential for greatness. It was Finnegan who taught James everything he now knows. How to duel, wield a shillelagh, pick pockets and locks, and far more. James stayed with Finnegan for six years, before finally setting out on his own, and becoming a skilled mercenary in his own right, leading his own band of men for a short time, before finally coming home to London.
What you want for your life: Most of all, James wants to earn his place in the world, become famed and amass a fortune, do what his father and ancestors couldn't. To be powerful and influential is something that entices him every day. He'd like to start a family as well, and of course, see the Soulless eradicated.
Character Quote(s): "The only constants in life are a birth and a death. Everything else is up to you."
"Come and have a go, if you think you're hard enough."
"God damn it!"
