Just like there are two sides to every story, there are two sides to every person. Dio's duality comes in the form of how the public perceives him and who he is on a personal level. Furthermore; Dio, like all Hyuga, hold's himself and his clans ideological beliefs above all. Not truly a distinct personality trait, nevertheless most Hyuga (or maybe just Dio) have three ways of looking at things: contemplative, direct, or dubious.
His emotional set consists of a phlegmatic disposition, generally unemotional and stolidly calm. Which usually leads to assumptions of a depressed, cynical young man, but bitterness and hate has yet to taint his soul. He still has an optimistic view of the world, harbors idealistic dreams, and naively believes that the Villages can be trusted. Dio maintains no disillusion about the state the world is in, however. But it’s a testament to his integrity and nobility, how he has remained an honest and responsible person.
In combat, Dio is: controlled, focused, steady, and conscientious of his surroundings. Every decision is made cautiously and pragmatically; he's vigilant in his efforts and never impulsive. He strives to apply the same manner of thinking to every facet of his life. This is why he doesn't interfere in every dispute and is content with watching until needed.
When it comes to Dio's ability to handle sudden changes and disagreement, his open-mind enables a high degree of adaptability that many Hyuga lack. Because of that, he's able to be tolerant and forgiving of ignorance; whether he's willing to, differs from scenario-to-scenario. But to avoid any interactions outside of his guardianship, he projects a rough, cold exterior. He even goes as far as exiling himself, which further lends to the mysterious lone wolf persona he has adopted. This facade is obviously a guise however, as evident in his altruistic behavior. Once his icy shell has been broken, his warm nature will shine through and the courteous, cultured individual with a unique sense of humor and charm will be revealed.
This pragmatic disposition revealed itself early in life as he took on the mantle of guardianship. As Branch Family member, protecting the Main Family has been his goal since birth, instilled in his psyche since birth; i.e the curse mark. As such, training has never fled far from his mind, day after day he has attempted to better himself for the betterment of the whole. Despite he seeming willingness, the outside words has very much affected his view on the Hyuga. While inequality fails to afflict him, his independent mindset still pinpoints its already blazing countenance, that many within the family cannot see. Despite that fact, he sees no reason to change, or attempt to change what has been set in stone for generations.

As a member of the Hyuga Branch Family, one doctrine has been pounded into his psyche, defend and protect the Hyuga, and that he will do. Despite the fact that he harbors little resentment against the inequality that may spring up from time to time, his lacks to motivation, or better yet, the will to voice his true opinions. Instead he rebels is subtile ways, making on of his goals altering the Gentle Fist art and expanding its horizons; this means he intends to first apply his Chakra Nature.

As is expected by a member of the Hyuga, Dio is a gifted strong close to mid range fighter. With his speed, precision, and general Taijutsu/Ninjutsu prowess, his close range combat is especially formidable. When combined with his Gentle Fist mastery and growing use of the Byakugan, Wind and Water Release, he easily becomes a logistical nightmare.
What makes Dio especially scary is his tactical prowess. His highly intelligent mind is capable of hatching plans within plans and processing vast amounts of information. He is an individual who can manipulate the the battlefield, opponents, and even allies through complex schemes that take multiple contingencies into account. He can think several steps ahead, allowing him to change his tactics and adjust his plans to match the situation at hand.

Byakugan
Description
"The Byakugan is manifested as very distinctive eyes, characterised by their enlarged and featureless white irides with no visible pupils. While active, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge."
Strengths
"The Byakugan gives Dio a near 360º diameter field of vision, with one blind spot at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertebra. The range of this vision varies between users and can be improved with training: as is, Dio can only see targets 50 metres away. His vision can penetrate through most solid objects and obstructions, though certain barriers may distort the Byakugan's perception. The Byakugan is able to follow high-speed movements, which allows him to better react to them.
Its greatest ability is to see chakra, which it can do to a greater degree than the Sharingan: it can identify chakra by the specific individuals it originates from, determine when genjutsu is being used, and discern certain types of clones from the real person. Its ability to see chakra is acute enough to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that run along it."

Weaknesses
"Prolonged use of the Byakugan causes severe but temporary eye-strain, leaving Dio unable to properly perceive targets."
