I had it placed around nighttime, and I picture Gravette as a neater, less chaotic Gotham. So a kind of dark, edgy city to fit the theme, but of course not with crazy super-criminals running around. Instead of heroes and villains duking it out in the streets, you have Supernaturals and Hunters, with civilians caught in the middle at times. And the police force is like Gotham's police. Kept up all night long and running around trying to make sense of mysterious occurrences technically impossible by human standards.

Dunno if that's how @AnaSilan Sunja imagines it. And again, I'll defer to him first before taking my words at face value.

Urgh, damn timezones. I'm heading to bed now. It's like 3 here, so I'm half asleep, but I will have you and Yuuta in a Pm convo so we can work out interactions between the characters. In fact, I'll just invite you now and both of you can hash out further details when Yuuta comes on. I still have one post for my Hunter to work on as well so my replies might be a tad slow but I'll get one first thing later in the morning.

@NightmareInd Loki's got most of it down. It's got the gritty, big city stuck in the past feel. For instance, the alley that the bar is in? It's ground is cobblestone and so is the whole street. Everything seems open almost twenty-four seven. It was actually mid-day in my post but since I didn't express that we can go with night to better fit for loki's character's post.

For the future, do you all want me to place an OOC post with time/setting where I add features? Or would you like me to work it into my IC posts?

Designated Annoyance Victim.

Name: Dr. Annabella Esteves

Age: 28

Ethnicity/Race: Hispanic…-ish. She tells the census she’s Hispanic for lack of better answers. Her family is mostly Cuban and Polynesian and Cajun. And Greek. And Bohemian… She’s pretty American, in other words.

Appearance: Annabella is fairly pretty and youthful. In all honesty, she hasn’t really changed that much in appearance since she first entered college, which causes the majority of people she knows to consider her a kid unless she adorns herself in something very strict and business-looking. She wears thick-rimmed glasses that make her eyes look big, which further impedes her adult appearance. Ralf refers to her as “Kid” and “Li’l Lady” quite often. Whether he does this to rustle her jimmies because he doesn’t like the therapy process and wants to get probation over without exposing much, or he does this sheerly because he has no idea how long it takes to become a therapist and therefore honestly doesn’t know that she’s only a few years younger than he is, is unknown.

If this isn’t enough, she’s also short and sort of chubby, so she looked younger than a college student when she was in college. However, this will probably prove useful in the coming days, since not only is she 5’3” and capable of hiding much easier than other people, but her guts and skeletal muscles are lightly armored with fluff, the alleged gladiator approach. She is slightly less likely to die in case of a supernatural attack...

Personality: Anna, although she can usually alleviate this to a degree during her sessions, is a very no-nonsense person who takes herself pretty seriously. This is, in part, because other people tend not to do that, and she’s not fond of the notion.

History: Annabella lived a fairly normal life in Minneapolis with her parents and two brothers. She was always planning to be a doctor of some sort, like her older brother and mother before her, but she found that her mom and brother were always the first to bring home the next new bug that was going around, so she decided to opt for treatment of things a little less contagious…

Dr. Esteves went to Stanford University and completed her degree… Fairly recently, actually. She was hired right out of college by a clinic in Gravette, who seemed to have a stunning lack of mental help available. Perhaps this was why everybody seemed to be getting stabbed all the time...

Involved Yet?: Her patients are, in some way, though she’s a fervent nonbeliever herself.

Strengths:

She started taking MMA classes and carrying a handgun around with her when bodies started showing up and her clients became increasingly eccentric. She isn’t a fighter, not yet, but she feels capable, which makes her less likely to crack under duress.

She runs a lot to clear her head. Since her head often needs clearing, she’s learn to run a very long way without getting tired.

She’s small and relatively light, meaning she doesn’t make that much noise when she’s moving around.

She’s really smart, and has some experience talking people down from instances of high stress and/or particularly drastic action.

While not quite Macgyver herself, she’s spent a lot of time with her dad’s garage, and he was a locksmith, chemistry, and shop teacher at various points in his life. She’s made her fair share of improvised devices to help her through certain conundrums. She’s also had to escape her fair share of locked rooms with fairly uppity patients...

Weaknesses:

She’s pretty easy to upset. Particularly when remarks are made about her age or her height. She’s not a very extroverted person, but being stressed does affect her decision-making abilities.

Stance: Actively oblivious. She doesn’t believe any of this stuff exists, and there are gangs of people out in the streets who need serious help.

Name: Claude Valmont

Age: 32

Ethnicity/Race: French

Appearance:

Personality: Sarcastic and cynical, it’s easy for him to rub people the wrong way. He mostly thinks logically, and rarely reveals his emotions besides amusement. He enjoys indulging in the finer things in life, and so is financially driven. He treats others as acquaintances at best, and there is nobody alive that he would truly call a friend.

History: Claude grew up in an orphanage that was run by the Catholic Church. For one reason or another, he was never adopted, and little choice but to pursue a life as a man of the cloth. However, Claude was not a humble child, and he wanted more than such a life could give him, so he parted from the church as soon as he came of age.

Claude took the world of underground fighting much more readily than he did to priesthood. He learned to fight the hard way, suffering plenty of losses while he was young, but before the fights crippled him, he was able to sharpen his Savot and dirty fighting skills to earn him quite a reputation… until he faced off against a supernatural.

One day, there was something off about his opponent. Perhaps it was the fact that he brushed off a liver kick like it was nothing, or perhaps it was the fact that he had more strength than muscles that size should have been able to produce, but Claude knew the man he was fighting was no human. One the brink of defeat, he used the last resource he had, his religious upbringing, and recited a prayer to banish demons. It seemed to make his opponent uneasy, and provided just the distraction that Claude needed.

After the fight, his opponent’s manager approached him, and informed him that he had fought a lesser demon, and offered him a deal to fight some more. They were supposed to be rigged fights, ones that the demons would throw to make the manager profit, but Claude had a better idea. He wanted to see if he could take these creatures out legitimately, and so he returned to the church to arm himself against demons.

Claude discovered he was good at it. Very good at it. Eventually he left underground fighting altogether, and started hunting demons on behalf of the Catholic Church. The church wasn’t thrilled with his less-than-pious personality, but they couldn’t deny his results. He has since tried to keep good relations with the church, as they supply him with most of his holy materials.

He eventually made his way to Gravette, a city chock full of clients and targets, and opened a private investigation firm. On paper, he handles infidelity cases. But those with the right connections, know him as a hunter, one that has never let a mark escape. His prices are high, but his results are undeniable. Anyone with a grudge against a supernatural being is welcome in his office… well, their money is anyway.

Weapons: Penance – A customized Colt Python. The sight has been modified into a crucifix, which has the typical debilitating effects of the holy artifact while Claude aims at his prey. It fires .357 Magnum caliber rounds. The bullets are made of silver and custom designed to splinter upon impact. All of Claude’s rounds are soaked in the blood of Christ before he deems them worthy of use.

Apostle – A collapsible silver baton with a pointed tip, perfect for impalements. By squeezing the handle, Claude can electrify the baton with 50,000 volts of electricity. It has been blessed by The Pope with holy water, and has Deuteronomy 33:27 engraved in Latin: “He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’”

Sacrament – A 4’’ silver hunting knife. The blade was tempered in the blood of Christ. In the hilt, he keeps a capsule of anointing oil. By squeezing the hilt, he can cause it to secrete the oil and coat his blade.

Hidden Blade – Claude’s right shoe has a retractable silver blade that has been blessed with holy water.

Zippo Lighter – A silver lighter decorated with Christ imagery. The base of the lighter has a small ring. Pulling the ring reveals a small spool of retractable fiber wire, lubricated with anointing oil.

Supernatural Target: Specializes in demons, but he’ll take on anything.

Strengths: -An expert in Savot boxing, knife fighting, and dirty fighting. Also a capable marksman.
-His connections to the church give him a supply of holy weaponry, and all the scriptural knowledge one needs to hunt down demons.

Weaknesses: -His colt python is powerful, but can only hold six rounds before he has to manually reload.
-He is a smoker, and doesn’t have the lung capacity for long chases, or the speed to keep up with many supernaturals should they decide to flee.

Stance: Active. He will hunt any supernatural that he is paid to, but will ignore any supernatural that is not on his hit list. He’ll wait until someone is willing to pay to have him take them out.

Other: He has a tattoo of Psalm 18:32 in Latin on his back: “It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on high places. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.”
