~Chasers: Boundary of the Crimson Sky~
"When night falls and
the boundary is pierced,
there lies only a
world of red."
the boundary is pierced,
there lies only a
world of red."
The Story So Far
Mysterious occurrences have been happening throughout Dangeki City. Rumors and whispers speak of strange looking creatures stalking the shadows, people disappearing from the streets during the night, crime syndicates so powerful that the law can't even touch them and much, much more. The common citizens dismiss these tales as nothing but urban legends, fabrications of the collective sub-consciousness of all who inhabit this sprawling jungle of concrete and steel.
However, there are few who know the truth that lies beyond every corner, within the back alleys where the light never shines and above the rooftops where the wind howls fiercely. These individuals are known aptly as Chasers, men and women of every age and path in life that seem to share at two things in common. They are all aware pf that which lies beyond the natural world, that supernatural beings wait inside every shadow to prey on the unwary. And somehow every one of them has seen what lies beyond this world, the other side of reality that is best left unknown to the everyday life of Dangeki City. This other world is known simply as: the Crimson Sky.

Information
Map of Dangeki City by night.
A large city located somewhere on Japan's coast, Dangeki City boasts an incredible variety of locations. From the Setsuna Mountains, inhabited by a variety of ancient and powerful spirits, to the Old Port and Industrial District ran by the worst of Dangeki's scum. This is a city that stands at a unique position in the conflict between the Crimson Denizens commonly known as Youkai, and the Chasers due to the concentration and power of passages between both worlds, earning it the nickname of "Maelstrom of Strife". The only other known place with so much resonance between the Crimson Sky and the Human World is the city of Prague, located in the heart of the Old World.
Humans who dedicate their lives to fight off the threat posed by the rogue denizens of the Crimson Sky. Chasers wield special powers and, sometimes, extraordinary treasures to assist them in their struggles and come from the most varied walks in life. Chasers don't inherently need to get along as they are united only by the flimsy banner of their cause.
Denizens of the Crimson Sky, the Youkai are beings composed primarily of Spiritual Power and can come in all shapes and forms, though most assume the guise of humanity, if only temporarily. They follow a flimsy hierarchy that is based on each individual's power level, which is turn is based mostly on said individual's age. The older a Youkai is, the more on top of the Crimson Sky's food chain they are likely to be.
A parallel world, beyond the boundary and borders of the everyday men's reality. It envelops and overlaps with the Human World in places they are closest to, meaning that a city in the Human World will be all but perfectly copied in the Crimson Sky with the noticeable difference that there will be no humans around. Any damage caused on the Crimson Sky will not be reflected in the Human World unless the barrier between both worlds is exceptionally flimsy at the time.
The contrary, isn't valid (most of the time), as the Crimson Sky "resets" at each sunset of the Human World, becoming a fresh impression of how the latter looked at that time. Exceptions might happen to places of great concentration of Spiritual Power such as a temple or a hospital as the laws binding both worlds get warped by strong concentrations of power.
All Chasers know of the Crimson Sky; in fact the ability to get in and out of this alternate dimension is the first and foremost difference between a normal human and a Chaser. Most Chasers gain their special powers and abilities through contact of the Crimson Sky, be it by accidental means or being dragged there by one of the Crimson Sky's inhabitants.
Entering and leaving the Crimson Sky can only be done during the night; for those who know how to do it, it is just a matter of crossing the right street or turning in the correct junction in Dangeki City. The number of locations where the crossing can be done varies with the phases of the moon, becoming much more difficult during new moon phases and almost childishly easy on full moon nights. Despite portals to the Crimson Sky being present everywhere around the globe, the more frequent activity seems to take place in Dangeki City for some reason.
The Crimson Sky is home to a number of different creatures that Chasers have dubbed as Youkai for ease of reference. Some of them are friendly, some indifferent, but the great majority are nothing but predators always seeking their next meal. While the majority of sentient Youkai want to be left alone, there are many feral and hungry-minded out of the bunch all too willing to feast on unsuspecting humans. The balance between predator and prey is maintained and defended by Chasers of all kinds.
Lastly, the Crimson Sky derives its name from its most defining characteristic; the sky that is bathed in the blood red light of the Moon that hangs ominously overhead. Inside the Crimson Sky, time seems to go slower, and the night is permanent. The Sun is never allowed to touch this cold land. This discrepancy means that staying for extended periods of time in the Crimson Sky is a taxing ordeal for humans and there's no known reports of anyone who survived for more than a week locked in the realm.
The contrary is valid as well since most Youkai cannot survive in the Human World for extended periods of time; their Spiritual Power slowly will slowly drain, making then disappear little by little. This is the primary cause of Youkai attacks on humans; to steal their Spiritual Power for themselves allowing for a continued existence in the Human World.

Special items said to break the rules of reality Examples include rings that makes the user immune to flames, chimes that can put those who listen to their tune to sleep, or swords that can cut someone's spirit without leaving a single wound on their flesh. These items are by their very nature extremely rare and to posses even one is the mark of a powerful individual. Throughout the whole of recorded history, it's been said that no one has had more than three treasures at a single time in their possession. To affirm the contrary is to declare oneself as a fool's fool.
A gathering of the Chasers from all around the world. The Association offers help and support as well as basic handling on maintenance by keeping the common people in the dark about Chasers activities. Sometimes the Association issues bounties and missions for Chasers and handles any reward they may receive. Association members are expected to pay an annual fee based on their earnings, though it can be postponed if there's undeniable proof that a Chaser can't cover it for that year. To turn one's back on the Association, or to break their very lax set of rules is to have a deathwish as their priority is to keep the general populace safely in the dark about the truth of this world.
A coalition formed and run by Miss Chikage Akane, supposedly the most powerful Youkai known in record. The Junction serves as a node to protect Youkai who aren't dangerous to human lives and has a similar role in upholding the illusion of Dangeki City while handling missions as the Hunters' Association, though their ultimate goals differ greatly. The worldwide headquarters of the Youkai Junction are the rundown alleys of Dangeki's Old Downtown, popularly known as the Youkai Ghetto. Notable sights include the Red Cloud Music Store, Chikage's personal facade business.
Shorthand for Yotsuba Technology Corporation, YTC is the worlds' lead technological conglomerate. They possesses businesses in fields that range from pharmaceutical products, fine electronics, military grade weaponry, power generation, so on and so forth. They are also, unknown to the main public, the lead in Crimson Sky and Youkai research, having little to no morals in their pursuit for global monetary supremacy. With such a track record, it's no wonder that YTC is the main opposing force to both the Hunters' Association and the Youkai Junction. YTC is officially ran by an enigmatic Council whose true identities are unknown even among themselves. The official face of the company is Edward Harker, a man that is best not to be crossed; any further information is not known.

1) No Godmodding. Be reasonable when fighting IC No auto hitting/ infinite dodging. No killing someone else's character without their permission.
2) Although there is no posting order, I strongly recommend that you wait at least two turns before posting again.
3) Relationships between characters are strongly encouraged but are not enforced. It just makes it more amusing to both me and my Co-GM.
4) Discussion in the OOC is nice, but if there is prolonged heated argument, take it to the PMs. Otherwise, the GMs will solve the problem. Be cordial. Respect other people and you will be treated equally. Fail to do this and we will have to kidnly ask you to leave.
5) RPers who "sporadically" lose interest or leave without saying anything are discouraged. I strongly suggest you either inform me or the Co-GM of your leave of absence. If it’s an emergency, then at least tell us if it is. We try to be reasonable people.
6) Please post your Character Sheets onto the OOC for evaluation. After being accepted, you may then post them onto the Character Tab.
7) Follow the Guild's rules for content/language. Take any improper material to PMs please.
8) Keep your IC posts at a minimum length of two paragraphs and please try to write as well as you can. We know that English is not everyone's main language, but that's no excuse to being negligent.
10) All posts need to have notifications for the characters affected in said post.
11) If you have any problems, questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to let the GMs know.
12) Have fun. There is only so much we can do for you as GMs. We cannot force you to have fun. We cannot make you enjoy the character that you created. We cannot make you seek out writers to collaborate with if you do not put forth the effort. We are here to guide the RP and insure everything goes forward and not backwards. Everything else is on you. So please make the most of this game ಠ_ಠ
