@13org I mentioned it though the gravity magic I mean also you can avoid the eyes like you would feel nauseous and look away to cough like a regular person XD

Her eyes are spinning so you feel dizzy or nauseous, light headed even you may cough or look away because it's unpleasant; or you can be fantasmal about it your a witch "I feel something's wrong about this let me look away" etc etc etc

Oh ok. Because you haven't mentioned that it had a "casting time".

For example, the gravity field was still being casted.

How do your ability works? It requires a continuous stare for a few seconds or its just one look one kill?

Because I don't want to use metagame with your skill.
I wont just "i blinked and ran" orr other half assed excuse to avoid it

@13org In her character sheet (at least it should be there) I said you have you keep looking at her for a little while before you feel the urge to keep staring (let's say five seconds for the average human ten for a witch) after about a minute or so you're her slave and she can implant commands in your subconscious mind.

Hissy jumped the gun on that command (I did that so you could have a chance at escape) so you have a good five more seconds to just do one of the things I mentioned above

Edit: The way you mess with witches power could make it to where her hypnotism takes longer to take effect on you or something

Talking about this whole "Arcane Blocking" ability, I know it seems OP because it is an instahit, but what it does is basically "locking" (or at least making them extremely lengthy to cast and make you very tired) your most powerful spells. Basically anything that requires too much mana. You are receiving less mana from the Arcane Network than you would normally.

All other spells and abilities that doesn't have a high mana consumption works normally.

@13org I mean if you think about it Hissy doesn't use mana for much, her snakes provide the poison being that she has millions of them living inside her body, the only real magic she uses is creating a summing circle; she doesn't summon the hydra she creates a portal for the hydra to stick its heads through thats it

And that's require a big amount of mana, I suppose?
Then that's exactly the one that will be affected.

On the other side of the coin, Shai can let witches nearby to tap directly into her Arcane Node, providing them with an endless supply of mana. What this would do is make them able to use high tier magics without being exhausted and hasting their casting time.

I'm only a silent observer here, and hell given that I'm not one of the GM's and have a bit of a discussion myself ongoing to get my character ready I maybe should keep my mouth shut, but this time I am indeed silly and I am deliberately doing so:

Please let the GMs decide. It helps absolutely nothing if you draw up one assumption about the magic system of this world or the other one's character after the other without having that much of a real anchor to hold it in place.

At which point was mana introduced and properly described ?
At which point were 'arcane network' and 'arcane node' properly described ?
Is the timeline suitable for knowing something about (d)eoxyribo(n)ucleic (a)cid ?
Does this entire technobubble matter that much at all ?

It has been said before I think, but I'm willing to act as an additional echoing stone wall: Let good judgement and common human sense decide.

My abilities, along with all the story behind them and some pretty words and terms to make them sound and look cool are in my character sheet.

Everything that I said doesn't change the magic system in the slightest.

Witches DO get exhausted after casting spells, and Ellion already talked about that.
I'm just getting the already established rules for the magic system and creating a lore to explain them ESPECIFICALLY FOR MY CHARACTER.

@13org Speaking of magic i have a question about the gravity magic well a few

Ok, so when a hydra pokes its head out of the portal can she crush it with the weight of the entire monster or just whats out in her area I.E the head and if its just the head wouldn't putting more of its body through the portal for example more neck would she need to re-adjust.

Also how would she know how much gravity to crush something under like how would she know how much force and energy to put into locking something down and just killing it under its own weight

there is a whole lot of math we need to do to figure out how much downward force she is putting on a creature as well as needing to know the approximate weight
