Alright, is it thus built atop the kindergartens? Furthermore, when you said 'no, they are on Earth', what do you specifically happen to mean by that?

Of course you can reserve a spot but as I told Gutshot, we do currently have a lot of Blue and Green Gems so I am hoping to avoid more of these colors as to help have more options for fusions

Topaz stands at around 5'5", and has a habit of playing with her long hair when nervous or over-excited. Topaz is generally quite the eager gem, and can often run head-first into danger without thinking about the consequences. However, this can often lead to a good deal of fun and amusement. Mostly, anyway.

Gem Placement:
The middle of her diaphragm, just below her breasts.

Gem Item:
Dual swords. They can connect at the hilts to create a large, double-ended sword with a two-hand grip.

Powers:
Active:
Aerokinesis: Topaz is capable of manipulating air to such an extent that she is able to "fly", or block blows from outside forces, such as attacks, or falling from a great height. However, this power becomes less effective when using her power too much at once, or for a long period of time.

Passive (Unstable):
Electrokinesis: Topaz is able to generate and manipulate bolts of electricity; however, when summoned, it is extremely hard to control. More often than not she will shock herself (And he allies, as she is unable to really target the bolts) when using the power, so she prefers not to use it unless absolutely necessary.

Other:
She wonders sometimes if she could combine her powers and create lightning storms. But even for a somewhat reckless gem like herself, she's not willing to risk an experiment like that for the sake of her imagination. For now, at least...

True. For me it's also a personal thing. Because bright colors like yellow and orange hurts my eyes, plus white... White hurts my eyes the most

While I'm waiting, I have a question. I was looking through everybody else's characters and noticed the humans seem to be very aware about the existence of Gems, and have access to their technology. How did this happen? I would have assumed the rebelling Gems would keep a very quiet existence as possible. For example, one child is teased in school because he looks like a Gem. How is it they know about Gems in the first place?

Not all of them are aware of the exsistence of Gems but it is not like the Gems can keep it a secret that they exsist if they need to take care of a threat.

Carmen knows about Gems because of meeting one in the past which leads him to want to know more. The Gem gave him a comfort he didn't find in others because of his difference.

Reggie is not only curious and tech savvy but goes where he shouldn't which would be the Kindergarten. Not many know about below but where there is a will there is a way. Many things, as we have seen were left behind at the kindergartens.

If we go back to actual SU, no one really knows about the gems but none of them seem weirded out by Gems or the fact they are there. They went to Empire City and nothing. Even Beach City never really cared much about them being there or the thought they were aliens. The Gems just kept to themselves.

It would not be unusual for kids to pick on another child thinking they were something weird or unknown. Yeah, they are saying they are a Gem but do they even know what that is? No, not at such a young age. They are drawing from looks and the unknown of what they have seen and or heard.

It would be like a kid saying your arm looks like a cheese grater because the other has a rash. Yeah they are both bummy and it isn't really an insult but it could be taken as such. It is drawing from something they have seen.

That makes sense. I was unsure as to how "realistic" we were going to make this is all. In a real world, if the existence of Gem's came out the military would be all over them, and government's would fight for more knowledge and control in regards to an alien species as powerful as them. In the SU Universe, it's not that big of a deal. From what we see of Mayor Dewey, those in charge aren't really competent, haha.

As for the teasing, I do understand it. For many, different=wrong. I was just wondering how they came about knowing the reference to Gems - it wasn't really explained well in either character sheet. But, if this city is like Beach City, then it makes sense for them to know about it.

We encourage things to be a little more open so that you can enjoy the explanations during the writing. Hopefully, they can explain their own characters and why much better than me.

Yes, in the past we did have the government try to dabble in and find out just how dangerous or what was going on with these Gem beings. I might add it in again and I may not. I'll see what the story calls for at certain moments since we have multiple ideas on how to make things interesting for not only the gems but this City. I am leaving it a surprise for a reason.

Well if you need XCOM weapons for the government to use, I know quite a lot. The funniest being a flamethrower that can set literally almost anything on fire. Even titanium. Apparently the Nazis made it, and they didn't wanna use it because of how nasty it was.

@Gutshot As for your gem, gems are made out of light so your muscles are in fact, not muscles so your downside is non-existent. Additionally, your gem seems to be copying Garnet. Similar weapon and you used Garnet to explain your power. I'm going to have to deny Clino until you have a bit more originality to your gem and until your power actually has a drawback or you go for a passive instead with a weaker active.

@Peridot I don't have a problem with your weapon but your passive isn't exactly a passive. A passive is something that is constantly active. Plus, there's no reason for it to be unstable.

Mostly, anyway. On the other hand, she can often come across as rather blunt and tactless, despite being a generally good-hearted person. What with learning all the new things of this world, Topaz tends to forget how stating certain facts (Such as how squishy and easy-to-destroy humans are) can be upsetting to some.

Active:
Aerokinesis: Topaz is capable of manipulating air to such an extent that she is able to "fly", or block blows from outside forces, such as attacks, or falling from a great height. However, this power becomes less effective when using her power too much at once, or for a long period of time.

Passive:
Clarity: Also called "Instant Understanding", Topaz is able to assimilate and understand new information about anything at a superpowered rate of learning. This also includes near-perfect recollection of past memories or events for future reference. However, she does not have the intuition to know if whatever she is learning is true or not - nor can she perceive future events based on past ones.

Other:
Topaz Gems were created to be the perfect Spy; while Blue Topaz had more offensive capabilities, Yellow (Or Golden) Topaz Gems were better used for observation and infiltration of enemy ranks. However, this became a nearly impossible feat against the Crystal Gems, who hid too well and had too-closed ranks for a spy to get in unseen. So, creation of the Golden Topaz Spies were dwindling, the Diamonds instead electing to create their stronger Blue cousins to fight in the war. If there were Golden Topaz left, their skills of learning and spying were unused.

I took a bit of liberty with the function of Topaz - I can change it if it's too detailed or you don't like it though. All of this writing has got me excited for the roleplay to start! I may even make a human... if that's okay?

Also, i'm grateful for the thorough run-down on what's wrong with my power. I'm not that in touch with SU anymore, so it's completely my fault for not knowing about the whole 'light-being' thing. Otherwise, I guess the power was indeed getting very close to what Garnet uses. I'll create another power in a little bit. Sorry for all of the trouble.

EDIT: Furthermore, I was authorized a weapon change by Akaya, so that'll be in the new CS too.
