Yasu Hirabayashi

Yasu couldn't help but laugh at the event's conclusion. Technically, her team had won, and without her having to do much at all. She didn't really care though; she didn't care to win someone pissant game, and she didn't care if some random girl had come out of the blue to steal victory from the rest. It was hilarious to see it play out though. Brock was making himself look more and more pathetic by the minute; not only did he cock up the game due to his cock, but he was busy trying to save face by flimsily claiming he arranged the winning move. Yasu was starting to regret thinking he had a decent head on his shoulders. With the event over officially, Yasu realised there was nothing left for her to do here, and so decided to wander off.

She happened to notice violence girl had been lured over to some stand of a kind. One look at the setup told Yasu all she needed to know; this was a gambling game. A lot of people in her circles of life tended to dabble in gambling, and almost all of them were crooked. Some of her own friends had gotten roped in to gambling scams and ended up paying the price. Yasu had made a rule never to trust anything gambling related. Of course, it was easy for her, since she didn't need the money, but she knew better than to go there even if she was desperate. She wasn't yet sure if the guy running this game was legit or not, but it didn't matter to her either way. What did matter is that violence girl was going to give the game a try, and if violence girl was a sore loser over even the smallest of things, Yasu was sure it would be entertaining to see the results.

"Juuust going to sit here and watch." She announced as she pulled up to the table. She was going to watch what would happen closely.

Alexei Pavlov

Alexei felt slightly saddened by Johnathan's words. It was almost like he was losing hope for a positive resolution so soon. He wasn't exactly wrong, but it wasn't good to hear him express such a pessimistic outlook. Alexei decided to bank on it just being a reaction to today's events; he would surely feel better when the memory was less fresh in his mind. He did seem to admit that he still needed to just keep going at it regardless. Alexei was sure things would work out for him in the end.

"Well, Johnny, if you're searching for ways to better approach the problem..." Alexei started as he followed his movements around the room. "You could always try making connections through connections. If she has any friends, try approaching them. If her friends like you, she might be influenced by them!" Of course, Alexei was expecting that Johnathan would just reach out to people naturally, but this was at least one way he could think of to get through to the girl. "Then again, I can't say I know if she even has any friends here yet, and I'm not sure how quickly she'll make them when she's so aggressive...but she has to make one eventually!" He also wondered if any friends she might make wouldn't be equally brash, or if they would take her word for it that Johnathan was a pervert. But he didn't want to rattle off every negative thought that crept into his head; that wouldn't help him, it wouldn't help Johnathan, and it wouldn't help anyone.

AKIKO

Akiko's heart started to sink once the guy handed her the paper explaining all the combinations. So if the player rolls a pair of...no wait, if the banker doesn't roll a...no no that's not it. Akiko was thoroughly confused, she had never been good at math or number related subjects, she didn't have any clue what she was reading and didn't take in any of the information. "Ha, this should be easy!" Akiko lied as she slammed down the paper dramatically with fake confidence. She may not have understood half the rules of this game, but already accepted the challenge and she couldn't possibly back down now! ...Well she could, but there was no way she was gonna admit that she didn't know the rules

Ronald kept an air of smug confidence as he watched the girl who had come up to his table try and read through the rules. Confident as she was, whether she understood the rules or not absolutely didn't matter! Ronald had rigged it from the start, though neither her or the new stranger that had pulled up to Ronald's table knew it yet. "Then let's not keep waiting, friend!" Clearing his throat, Ronald threw the already shuffled dice from his hand and into the bowl. 5-5-5. Automatic win. A surprising outcome, even for Ronald! "Huh. I...guess I win the first round. Well, guess I'll just go ahead and re-roll." Ronald's words were genuine and kind. He truly didn't expect his first roll to be an instant win. He grabbed the dice from the bowl and shuffled them again, for once in his life hoping he isn't lucky enough to get another instant win again. It would be too suspicious. After a few seconds of shuffling, he threw the dice right back into the bowl. They rolled around, bumping and bumbling into and around eachother, like dancers in a club late at night! Finally, they slowed to a halt, showing the combination 5-5-2. Point set! 2 points towards Ronald and, though he wouldn't show it, he was relieved as he passed the bowl and dice to Akiko, eager to keep the game going. "Your turn. Haha!"

Akiko watched as the guy rolled the dice. Honestly she didn't have much of a reaction to the dice, as she hardly had a grasp of the game to begin with, but once she heard the guy say that he won she understood what was going on.Lucky for the guy, Akiko wasn't really the sharpest pencil in the drawer and was too focused on pretending like she knew how to play, so she didn't really react much to his win at all. She simply nodded her head and pretended like she understood what had just happened

After the guy made his second roll and gave the bowl and dice over to her, she eagerly grabbed them out of his hand almost instantly and shook the dice vigorously. "Ha!" Akiko shouted as she threw the dice into the bowl with great enthusiasm. 1-2-1...uhhh, what did that mean? Akiko didn't really know, so she chose to wait to see the guy's reaction

Jonathan Walker

Jonathan nodded to Alexei. "I agree, it might be hard for her given her vicious streak. All the more reason...", he said, pausing for a moment to complete a row at 440 lbs. "...To keep reaching out."

Jonathan was just now finishing up his sets and had worked up a proper sweat. The strain and focus was helping clear his head up. Even though Alexei seemed to think he was just worried about having been punched in the face, talking it over was helping figure out how to deal with everyone else, too. The first few days were always the roughest no matter what. The summer break kept him out of contact with most of his better friends. There were the new students too, who all too often had just been ripped out of their old life and dumped into a freakish boarding school, and they had the whole fish-out-of-water thing going on that made them hard to talk to. On the bright side, he'd managed to reach out and talk to someone who he'd been absolutely terrified of all last year. That was fun while it lasted. More rowing, more straining, and he was completely finished with the workout.

Jonathan switched to a brighter subject as he got up and started wiping down the benches he'd used. Cleanliness was right on up there in importance with form. Nobody wanted to get a staph infection from working out, and Jonathan didn't want to be the one to make it happen.

"On a different note, when's your first class starting?"

@Mercurial

Brock Van de Vate and Alexis Cartwright

The 'doctor' was utterly freakish. Brock couldn't tell if she was even licensed, but the other staff seemed to trust her enough to not even flinch at the sight of the ugly old witch with an axe. If they trusted her, then maybe this was all just some sort of intimidation thing to make sure he actually needed attention. The throbbing pain started seeping back into Brock's attention as his fear slipped away, and he decided that, yes, he did need to see the doctor about it before it got worse, even if Asa hadn't described what'd happened properly. He was pretty sure he'd have remembered getting knocked unconscious.

A quick look around at the other students on the field told him he'd put his foot in his mouth, so he decided not to mention his lack of a head injury. "Uh, yeah... I'm just... going to go with the doctor here. Lead the way."

Doctor Cartwright looked the boy over. Yeah, he was in pain. She'd seen enough 'tough guys' in her office to know when they were hiding it. He was too upright and stable to have any sort of head injury, so she threw that out, but his legs were slightly bent and shaky. Throwing stars were heavy enough to break skin even with a half-assed throw and without being sharpened properly, so a blunt throwing star was heavy enough to do lasting damage to the testicles without attention.

"Alright, fine. Asa, Freyja, I'll send him back out when I'm through with him," she said. There was a sort of vicious bite behind 'through with him' that made Brock shudder in semi-horrified anticipation, but he felt that whatever she'd do with him, it was better than sticking around in front of people who probably thought he was a total dumbass now.

Doctor Cartwright turned to waddle off back towards her office, and Brock gave a short glance at the other staff before hurriedly following along.

Freyja Leden

"Very well then, I'll leave him to you," Freyja replied back. She couldn't help but smile a little at Brock's horrified expression. It was something she was quite familiar with, as new students would certainly be unfamiliar with how the doctor was. She was a great doctor indeed, even if she looked like something out of a horror movie.

"Now that's over..."

Freyja looked back and saw that there was a game of dice going on, with Akiko being one of the participants. She hoped she wasn't gambling anything with that, and she doubted that she was the kind of person that had the aptitude to being a good gambler. Speaking frankly, she was too hot-headed. Gambling was a game of tricks, where being predictable could cost you the game.

Well, it wasn't really her business. There was no rule that said that students weren't allowed to gamble. And so, she decided to just return to her office. It had been quite tiring after all.

Roy Carter

Roys eyes lit up, a martial arts class sounded great to him. Well I will most likely be seeing you again then miss" Roy said letting out a smile. Though martial arts wasn't his primary weapon of combat he still knew more than the average person and learning more couldn't hurt. What would he do if he were to get disarmed in combat or an exercise forbid weapons? He was a novice at using his power, the more he delve into his inner being the more he thought of how incomplete he was. Clearly there was a lot he has to work on.

Roy turned to the girl who had accepted his low profile challenge, he smiled a friendly smile. "I like your style, I'm not gonna ask you for much but can I at least know your name? My name
is Roy Carter by the way"
Roy said not even daring to offer a hand out because she would clearly leave Roy hanging. It was clear she wasn't exactly the type of person who trusts easy but that was okay. Roy had a good feeling she wouldn't disappoint. He had to keep an eye out because you never know what can happen.

Ryuuto Koriyama

Ryuuto completed his rendezvous with Kasuke and Jun-Sang, swapping notes (or rather, sending them a shitload of multimedia files) without many words. He was surprised at how little he got from Kasuke, though. Perhaps she didn't think any of the new recruits were notable, but it was a shame since he had hoped somebody had caught what Hana did. He did get plenty of other useful information, though, and decided to go get settled in. However, something caught his eye...

He stopped when he saw the game of dice being played. "Chinchirorin, eh?" He walked up to the stand, curious enough about the game to approach the violent redhead. To his amusement, it seemed like she had no idea how to play. "It's a push," Ryuuto explained when she asked what her hand meant. "Banker set point at two, you rolled a two as well. Not sure how he wants to resolve the push, especially since there don't appear to be any stakes involved. Sometimes bankers will require a push be resolved by another hand with double stakes. Pretty exciting, but that rule can often deter the players because they'll go into the game unsure of how much they're going to lose." He adjusted his glasses. "Or, I could jump in and try to beat you both." Ryuuto didn't have much experience actually gambling, but he knew quite about about statistics and probability, and he had read up on lots of rule sets.

His mind raced 50% of the combinations result in a reroll, so those are negligible. This means 5% chance of an automatic loss, roughly 14% chance of rolling a one, and same for a two. That makes my odds 19% chance of losing, 14% chance to tie, and 67% chance to win. Good odds... "Sure, I think I'll roll."

Ronald tipped his hat to Ryuuto with a smile. "This chap's got it right on the money." With a gentle motion, he presented the bowl and dice to the newcomer. "I had figured winning money off other students would be an illegal move on campus, but nobody needs money to have a good time with a good game, right?" Ronald was not wrong, however his motivations lied far beyond fun. It was training, pure and simple. An exercise to keep his mind from dulling while studying at this unbelievable school.

"But stakes make things a little more interesting. So how about this..." Ronald mused, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a ten dollar bill and placing it on his side of the table. "If you can beat both our rolls, this ten dollar bill is as good as yours, and if you stay around to beat my next roll, I'll throw in another ten bucks." Ronald's bet was simple- beat his roll twice, get twenty dollars. But before he let Ryuuto start rolling, Ronald raised his pointer with a smirk. "But, I'll expect you to give me the same courtesy."

"My family name is Kasuke." she said simply, making a point of not telling Roy her familiar name. She definitely did not 'like his style', and would much rather be swallowing her pride and making excuses to Ryuuto and Jun-sang than carrying o this conversation.

"I have somewhere I must be, so farewell, Carter. We will meet in the future, I'm sure," she stated simply, and then turned and left.

@Yuuta@CondorTalon@Cu Chulainn

At the meeting, Mina suddenly wished she was back talking to Roy. It was even more painful than she thought it would be, admitting that she had very little to give. Even so, she picked up a lot of very useful information about the first years competing in the CTF game that she had otherwise missed. It was as if she had been paying attention the whole time. All the gaps in her knowledge were filled and she could now start to formulate plans. She said her farewells and started to head to her dorms. That's when she saw the pirate boy walking towards her. There was no reason to deviate her course, but if they got any closer, they might have to talk to each other, and Mina had a feeling that this boy was going to take that opportunity. He seemed the type. She quickly mentally prepared herself for another conversation, clearing her mouth of the sour taste of the last two she had.

Bradley Drake, Jr.

Bradley spent his time behind the trees waiting for the right time to strike. He placed enough hope in his team's skills to give him an opening enough to get the flag.

It was at this moment that a multitude of fantasies rushed Bradley's head. He would rush in to the enemy team's defences, finally revealing his true channeling capabilties as he washed them all away in his tide-sheathed blade. He would grasp the flag, and raise it high, running to his base as his team supported him on the way, cheering him on as he finally succeeded in achieving victory. His team would congratulate, and even learn to respect him. Perhaps one of the more skilled teachers would see that he's indeed skilled at Wavecasting, and would offer to mentor him. Maybe he could even get a kiss on the cheek from-

... Wait, why's everyone leaving the arena already?

Bradley stood up, scratching his head, confused. Apparently the match ended, and... they won?

"Huh? What?" Bradley uttered, as he looked around. "Well... okay, then?" He shrugged, and just wandered off on his own, towards the Institute.

While Bradley was a bit crestfallen that he himself didn't recieve as much recognition, he was still a bit glad his team managed to come up top. Of course, it wasn't really due to Bradley's leadership skills, and in the end, it looked as if someone else from his team took the credit in that. After a few long moments of dwelling on what had taken place, Bradley had resolved to prove everyone how great of a leader and channeler he actually is.

And then Bradley realized he had no idea where he was going. He was too consumed in his thoughts to ask any of the teachers where he's supposed to go. He began to notice one of the students heading to the same general direction he was going. She looked around his age, but he didn't remember seeing her in the CTF game. Probably an upperclassman, he thought. She also looked like a person Bradley wouldn't have considered approaching, under normal circumstances. Well, regardless, he was lost, and she was the closest person he could ask for help.

"Ahoy!" Bradley called as he walked towards Mina, waving. "The name's Bradley. I seemed to 'ave misplaced my map and-" Wait, he didn't have a map in the first place. Bradley cleared his throat. "I mean... I don't think I 'eard the instructors well, earlier. Might ye' know where all the first years're supposed to head to?"

Ryuuto Koriyama

Ryuuto stared at the ten dollar bill on the table. He was so used to using his credit card for all his purchases, he had almost forgotten what the things looked like. However, ten dollars was hardly enough to entice him. In fact, hardly any of the students on the campus besides Mina would be able to even phase him with a monetary bet. Ryuuto adjusted his glasses and grinned. "Now, now, gambling is not allowed on campus, and we wouldn't want a teacher catching us. However, I'm sure we can think of a more... creative thing to bet." He adjusted his glasses and turned to Akiko. "And of course, you can participate too, if you want. What I want is..." His glasses gleamed. "...information. I want to know your abilities, their limitations, what you can do, what you can't do. your weaknesses. What do you say we bet one piece of information at a time? It'll be much more valuable than ten dollars should we be pitted against each other." Ryuuto grinned, hoping the two would accept his challenge.
