There we go! Happy ending to the discussion!

I think we're all on the same page now.

Edit: If a teacher wants to go see what's up with Mina, you should go for it. I'd rather not use Daler since he's otherwise preoccupied and he's still one of my characters.

If we get any downtime between events, then it'll get a bit more interaction-driven. Slice of Life type interactions are just slightly hard to do when you have a storyline event going on. We'll probably be able to keep forward momentum outside of events if they're spread out every several pages rather than every couple pages, tbh, but if things start slowing down then timeskipping to an event to keep player interest works just fine.

Events are just a little weird since posts get condensed from the space of a few minutes down to a matter of seconds to preserve the speed of combat without godmoding and autoing other players.

I dunno if I completely agree with that, I've been in multiple RPs where everyone was able to do that kind of stuff fine. But I'd rather not start a debate about that, so I won't go any farther

After it's over, there won't be many big events. Maybe a few three-four person things.

Well I dunno, that's what I intended to happen after the Institute reveal, and that didn't really work out :/

<Snipped quote by Azereiah>

That's what I'm trying to do for a good while now.
But if I erase my post Zero gives me a sermon. If I edit part of it back he still gives me a sermon. Maybe it would be better for me to send him a PM asking him what should I do now.

Yes, I would recommend settling this in PMs from here on out

First rule of being a GM: Never intend people to act a certain way, even if it's obvious and/or your whole story revolved around it. They just won't follow the script.

Well, this did all start because I didn't know the distances involved and how plausible it all would be so getting player opinions on the situation seemed ideal. Especially since it's something that involves two or potentially three characters not my own.

@13org
Well, I stick by my call that criticism and discussion shouldn't be taken as a personal attack. To wit: Your character will get to do what you wanted her to instead of suddenly doing nothing at all.

@Azereiah
Right, you got superspeed punched. Well I need to go out for a jog and get some stuff done but I figure I'll have a post up tonight. Idea being Zeke understands what's coming and grabs both @Dblade26 and @CondorTalon's characters and gets them out of the way because responsible adult, then Brock can try to pick a fight and Meilin can do her thing. Since the characters are kinda clustered around the flag, would the heat wave ignite the fabric even a little bit?

The flag would get slightly more brittle and dry as the moisture is driven out, if it were to catch any of the heat. You guys can decide if it hits anything or not. I'm having Brock scramble to his feet as fast as possible since I just remembered Akiko is less super speed and more explosive fists. The heat wave should be impacting shortly after, so I'll retcon some notes on air stream attack velocity to Brock's CS. Wasn't really totally sure how to play it out, so the pace of the RP is guiding reasonable limits now.

Edit: Reworked Brock's attacks on the CS to reflect potential physics and counters. No more uncertainty on how things work!

Yeah, I got Hana's power mixed up with Akiko's too. Wonder why that was.

@liferusher This is pretty much just the character from Demi-chan wa Kataritai with minimal changes. I'm fairly sure @tipssyCalibrator wants original characters (not 100% sure, but like 99% sure) so this more than likely isn't going to fly.

Yea making her combat orientated instead of passive are minimal changes...

<Snipped quote by liferusher>
(Wow I completely missed this)

This is one of the many reasons why I'm really not into the idea of vampires in the RP. Vampires have, like, a ton of powers, way more powers than characters in this RP have. Technically speaking your character has super strength, super speed, super endurance, night vision and healing. In comparison, most of the other characters have 2 powers at most

Also, the way she gets her power is completely separate from the way energy works in the RP (which is one of the OTHER reasons why I don't want vampires in the RP). It's not that it's overpowered, it just doesn't really fit with the RP

Alright. I understand why she cant get energy this way but it is a bit strange to decline her powers like, I assume everyone their power is about the same maybe some people shoot out above the rest but that doesnt have to rely on the power that they have but rather the effort they put into it. My char could have 'strong' powers on paper but do jack because everything she can do with her powers is minimal. She wouldnt beat someone that only has a strength power with her own strength but rather try to match up for it with everything else she has. I didnt intend to make her god so to say -_-

Ima make a brand new char. Gonna try to keep the personality the same though with a few extras perhaps

You could step in to stop Akiko from punching a downed guy that already took one to the plums and also stop Brock from trying to fry students and give them both a lecture. That's a very teacherly thing to do. Just saying.

My character doesn't know about Brock's powers. He is glowing, ok. But I don't think its enough for making her alarmed enough to step in.

Akiko missed her punch and Brock is standing up again, trying to punch her but missing. That looks like a normal fight. Again, not enough reason to justify someone interrupting the test.

The throwing star hit him on his groin, making him fall on the ground, but not before letting out a very dangerous looking heat wave in the direction of the panda boy, the big guy and a brown haired girl that was nearby them.
She didn't knew if was because of how dangerous that heat wave looked, or because she had an particular interest on two of the three students that were nearby, but she had to do something.

Your character takes a look at and understands Brock's powers going by your own post, so that's not an issue. Meilin can step in because she saw him fire some form of heat wave and wants to stop him from doing something potentially dangerous with his powers. There's also Akiko trying to start a fight with Brock who, by the rules of the game, is eliminated and should be left alone as he steps outside and goes back to his end of the field. Brock, meanwhile, is in fact trying to fight back against this teenage girl with his dangerous powers that Meilin already saw. You've got three perfectly valid reasons for a teacher to intervene here, m8.

Yeah, I mean I'm still gonna practically beg you to step in here @13org

Point One: Brock probably needs or wants medical attention, though that bit is less obvious. Though now that I think of it, he kind of visibly vomited several times, so yeah.

Point Two: Musashi should probably be admonished for using a groin strike.

Point Three: The techniques they're using might be 'normal fight' level, but they're also fighting in blatant violation of the rules like Hex mentioned in a way that, even if it isn't obviously dangerous in scope, is still threatening to derail the test.

Point Four: Pretty sure the teachers all received basic profiles on the students' backgrounds and abilities if only the basics of them, so it's perfectly reasonable to suggest she might know how his powers work, or at least that he has violent tendencies and it might be better to step in.

Point Five: Daler's already suggested she step in before the fight between the two of them spirals out of control, and he can read minds, so it's a pretty trustworthy source on the matter.

So overall you do have plenty of reasons to step in and I'd really really appreciate it if you did, personally.

Edit: Obviously it's your decision. However, since we want to y'know, actually play in the game with you and you seemed solely upset about how you weren't getting to do that apart from feeling patronized, it seems like a pretty easy decision to make?

Of course it is. But if you choose not to then you kinda, you know, don't have room to complain about feeling left out and not being able to do things like you were doing. Because you were given ample room to do so.
