Cole can explain. That, or the Inquisitor will already know.

Present and accounted for boss, just trying to take real care with this post. It feels like a character establishing moment for Aura so I want quite badly to not fuck it up.

Working on the Inquisitor's response to Ekaterine. I need to know if you guys are cool with him and other similarly empowered characters engaging in a degree of powergaming, to make the threat they present more real. Specifically, he's about to inflict a simulation of a crippling wound on Ekaterine, to provoke her fears.

EDIT: Posted, leaving it open for now.

I mean, I'm fine with that. Makes their threat more real.

Apologies for the double post, but I think that this might be where Cole could come in with some knowledge?

Also, I feel it only fair to pre-inform you that there is a second level of Inquisitor that has yet to officially exist, in universe. Cunningham is likely to become the first one, eventually, and it's going to be horrifically bad news for us.

@CollectorOfMyst I'm sorry but why is Kat screaming? As far as I recall she hasn't been hit yet.

Yeah, I left it ambiguous as to whether she's been hit or not just in case Org doesn't end up consenting to the artful powergaming of the Inquisitors.

@Deos Morran Um... well, I sort of left whatever the Inquisitor is actually doing open-ended in case 13org didn't want that, but if she comes back and she doesn't agree, I can easily change it to something else, like him seeing Kat dodging, and telling Aura to switch places with her. I can put a void there for now, if you want.

P.s. Welcome back.

@CollectorOfMyst Oh yeah hi I'm back now. Sup.

Also I was just referring to when you said Kat was screaming.

I know, but if Kat has indeed not been hit, then I will need to change it slightly. In fact, I do have a solution that may just work... hopefully... that leaves it ambiguous to whether or not she has been hit at all.

EDIT: The IC post has been changed, leaving it ambiguous... hopefully.

Mark me on your posts ppl!!

I'll have my post done tomorrow.

Kat was hit, but since she was ready for his attack, I see him hitting maybe only one of her arms (due to the AoE attack, she was preparing herself for a ray or a more direct type of attack.)

Also, I must say, it will have literally the opposite effect. The fear she will feel will serve only to make her completely mad and enraged. Ariah or someone may want to hold Kat and take her away, because she will literally lose her mind and attack him with everything she had (Which is probably not a good idea since he is probably stronger than her due to the magic `n` such)

@13org It's not a physical attack. He's attacking her mind, to simulate a crippling wound. For example, it's the kind of magic that will make a person believe they've lost their legs, or been blinded. Although a physical attack works too - the mental attacks can come later, once Kat has weakened herself with anger.

Ooh got it!
But it the attack is still physical isn't it? I mean, the effects are mental, but the golden spark thingies need to hit her to be effective right?

@13org Nope. I should have been more clear, but the sparks and the sound are more like effects of the attack than the attack itself, or any symbol of its reach. The Inquisitor is more than capable of physical attacks using sound and the sparks, especially given the type of amulet he's currently using, but the psychic attack is best thought of as psychic in every facet of its nature. In actuality, a psychic attack can miss just as much as a physical one, but that is dependent on how strong the mind of the victim is, against how strong the mind of the attacker is. Right now, nobody in the party can truly withstand the influence of Inquisitor Cunningham, but a Dryad or a Dragonkin can endure it a few moments longer.

In actual fact, I plan to have 13900's character, Adrion, all but sacrifice himself to save you guys. It'll be a heroic and badass was for him to go out, and it ties up his loose end quite nicely. Otherwise we just have some poor guy standing on a rooftop with no conclusion. I hope everyone's ok with that?

Got it. That sounds really nice for me.

Regarding the attack, how much is the duration? I mean, it will stop as soon as someone attack him and disrupt his concentration or there is something more?

Which parts of her body the attack affected? Legs, arms...?
