A hoonter must hoont.
Name: Arian Guntram
Sex: Male
Age: 22
Phenotype: Faunus (Crow)
Kingdom: Vacuo
Personality: With an ability like his you can forgive him for being a little cynical, acting as if he knew what the results were going to be. Still even then he's a polite man, a gentleman by many accounts, though he is very to the point and would prefer not to have his time wasted, all while serving tea as a gracious host would. He used to be rather unruly, but changed his ways when he was picked up by his mentor in the Crows, so his childhood friends from his days as an orphan would be quite surprised whenever they visit him. He has a strong sense of justice, seeing his power as a responsibility. He seems to be a bit different to his compatriots, they take any good paying assassination, but he seems to only take jobs that target troublesome hunters who are a menace to the population or Vacuo as a whole.
Biography: The white beaked mask of the crow has become an icon of fear among the Vacuo populace. As a member of the Crows of Retribution, their task and specialty is the dispatching and killing of other hunters, either hunters who have become a threat to Vacuo, or because they were paid enough by private investors who wanted a rival dead, either way, Arian has become one of the most famous among them, in their ranks he is an up and rising star, his Semblance being the perfect ability for any assassin. The ability to preordain the location of targets once he's come into contact with them, or even preordain the destination of items such as throwing knives, bombs and so on.
Before all this though he was just an orphan on the streets, living off of stealing with his band of friends. Eventually he met his mentor who gave him tutelage, as well as to his friends by request. Thanks to his help, together the four entered Shade, and while they became a team during this time, they all went their separate ways after graduating. While the other three went off either to be hunters in Vacuo or traveling to other continents to seek their fortune, Arian was immediately inducted into the Crows.
Here he learned their purpose, and what his training was all for, and it was here he chose this as his own path. While many of the hunters in this organization often take assassination contracts like any other assassin, they also seem to go out of their way to hunt bounties on the heads of dangerous criminals as well as hunt hunters who have become a menace to society. Their numbers are roughly a dozen, and have gone between this many to two dozen. This organization is also held together by the virtuousness within the ones who have chosen to join.
Their existence is not known to the public, the extent of knowledge about them comes in a little children's folk tale of crows who visit evildoers in the night, killing them, and then disappearing. It appears this tale has existed for some time, suggesting the Crows have existed for a very long time.
More on the Crows, no longer backstory for Arian. The Crows have existed for a long time, back when Vacuo was a monarchy, they were the crown's secret assassins to kill enemies. This of course was a very long time ago, but they were forced to quietly disband after new governments began to rise. It was then the crows were formed. Over the many years, they dispatched the worst of villains asking for nothing in return, the only way they sustain themselves is looting the greediest of villains after killing them, or as they had begun to during the Great War, take assassination contracts. It was here that their numbers soared to two dozen, Vacuo was able to take it's occupied territories from invading forces as the armies at the time employed some of them to strike key targets to allow them to retake them.
There are no longer Crows who have fought during the Great War, but soon as the war had died down, some had retired with a comfortable fortune, while others either died or sought a new life, coming down to around several members. They went back to between 10-20 members over the next several or more decades to present day. During that time, Vacuo was forming a new government after many years of lawlessness and nomads prior to and somewhat during the Great War, and some of the generals within the armies knew of the Crows, and reached out to them to help them enforce some law and order within Vacuo, and they gladly accepted with pay of course.
Today the Crows have reached a rather stable number, there is an actual status quo as to how the Crows work now, as well as a well-established code and set of rules to live by. Offense to any of the first three codes is with very rare exception death, while other precepts have smaller penalties such as being derived of work or exile.
Aura Color: Silver with feathers
Semblance: Road of Destiny
This Semblance is what makes Arian so deadly. It's a very simple concept, he can decide the destination of an object or person that he comes into contact with, including himself. While he cannot choose when a person reaches a particular destination, he can slightly choose when items do instead. There are many creative ways he can use it, for instance throwing a throwing knife that is marked as the destination for multiple other blades, it's essentially a marked target, letting his knives home in on it almost without fail, or he can lay a trap and come into contact with the target and decide that the opponent will at some point eventually be forced into the trap, or stumble in their somehow of their own accord. The only limitation that seems to exist besides not being able to decide the time when a person reaches a destination, is that the destination needs to be visually acquired beforehand, and not further than 100 feet of him, regardless of what he may want, distance and barriers will still stop things from reaching their destination... For awhile. They seem to always eventually reach their destination as long as they are within 100 feet of him.
Weapon:
Mercury - A shortsword with a revolver chamber loaded with dust bullets. When they are fired while Mercury is on it's own, it forms a longsword of silver aura for a few short moments, giving Arian the ability to surprise enemies with a longer reach weapon at his own whim.
Mercy - A shortsword, slightly shorter than Mercury, it's warped-looking blade alongside what looks to be a barrel. The main feature is that it's warped blade allows it to catch weapons within it, letting it act as a parrying tool.
Marquis - When both are combined they create Marquis, a revolver with a bayonet, as well as a bit more weight. In this form it functions like a normal revolver and a melee weapon. It is able to access the longsword version of Mercury as well, and can fire the Mercy dagger as an extra surprise.
Rifle Cane - He doesn't always walk around looking like a hunter, but Vacuo being what it is, it is reasonable to carry around a weapon. The Rifle Cane is a fairly standard weapon, but is superior to other gun canes on the market as this one in particular uses advanced engineering found in transforming hunter weapons, letting it turn into a proper rifle, rather than a simple mashup, plus sturdy worksmanship means as a cane alone it can be used as a reliable weapon.
Assortment Throwing Knives
He hides what appears to be countless throwing knives under his cloaks and clothing, there seem to be all kinds, from straight-thrown, shuriken from Mistral, and even small boomerang-like knives.
Mistral Shadow Tools
He also hides an assortment of tools, they're usually in limited supply, but this includes things like fire bombs, smoke bombs, caltrops, and even explosive dust tags. Basically the toolkit of a shadow agent in Mistral.
Favors: Single combat. On top of being a Faunus which have heightened physical capabilities, and his type being geared for speed, his Semblance can make killing a single target a breeze. Though with proper management and planning he can dispatch multiple foes in an instant too.
Disfavors: His style of combat thrives on having time to set up a perfect kill or outpacing a single opponent as his semblance can essentially let him "read" an opponent's movements, as he preordains them. As such, if he is ever surprised by more than one enemy, or is swarmed quickly, he will be at a clear disadvantage.
Affinities: Arian moves swiftly, often with his blades cutting a fine silver streak in the midst of his black crow gear, some say he is a black blur when he fights, the silver flashes showing his strikes and swings. He uses a multitude of tricks to trip opponents up as well, and because of the dangerous nature of his Semblance, he can be incredibly hard to read, as his Semblance has no tells, it's a completely causality-based ability.
Faults: He'll have a very hard time taking a hit or overpowering someone in raw strength.
