The Barman
Name: He just goes by John
Species: Human (?)
Age: He's not quite sure. Adult?
Appearance: The most average man, with the most forgettable face. He'll look fine no matter where he is in the universe (yes, even among the superintelligent shades of colours), and people who see him will think nothing of him. In fact, they'll completely forget his face as soon as they're gone. It's a quirk.
Personality: He's a good listener. That's literally all that he's good at. Somehow, everyone he talks to always have a sudden urge to spill their entire life story to him. He's nice, friendly, a good chap, and knows which questions to ask.
History: If you ask him, he'll tell you he's just an average barman, even if he's serving a bar in the oddest restaurant in the universe. However, if you tell him, perhaps gruffly, with irritation of unknown origin, that you want to talk to the manager, he'll smirk and tell you, completely deadpan, that he is the manager.
And he's right. The Restaurant is, we could say, his creation, if the result of a catastrophe can be called a creation. It costs him quite a lot: his identity, his previous place in the universe, his sense of time. Nowadays he doesn't mind it as much. There's always something new in the Restaurant, even if it's hard to tell what's new in the simple sense of the word.
How did you get here?: He's always been here, since the begining, whatever that beginning is.
Where you came from: He couldn't quite remember. There are humans, and they've taken to the stars. Technology is advanced and only going to advance further. Time-travelling is a known thing even though it's banned in most societies.
