Personality: At his core, Bellamy believes it’s important to be true to himself. He knows what he wants in life, and deals with a lot of hidden emotional turmoil because he can’t have what he wants. Though he cares most what’s happening in the present, he still has strong desires of what he wants for the future. As such, he’s perfectly capable of putting aside whims of the present when he can see a long-term prize at hand.
Bellamy also seeks a greater purpose in life to serve; be it a cause, calling, or individual, something that he would consider bigger than himself. He lacks faith in his own ability to lead or bring change, he once thought he was someone like that but no longer. For him, such values like loyalty, duty, and sworn fealty are values that he longs to practice and adhere to.

How did you discover your powers: Bellamy was always a star athlete, whatever sport he picked up, his reflexes and coordinnation were constantly on point without fail. Whenever entering a game, be it soccer, rugby, or basketball, the moment he focuses things just seemed to slow down just for him. Unbeknownst to him, this was his mutant power manifested, when instead of him simply having fast reaction, in actuality he was unwittingly 'stealing' the speed off of those around him and effectively slowing them down. It took stopping a car dead in its track for him to come to realisation about his powers.
Why did you choose the side that you did?: Even if he were to forgive and forget those who had brought much pain and grief to him, he would recognise this: Mutants are change. Humans were detrimental to that change. If he were to bring about real, lasting change into the world for mutants alike, Magneto and his Brotherhood was the answer. Such a cause didn’t need sentimental fools like Xavier at its helm but a leader who was willing to take drastic measures for his people.
General History: Bellamy was born into your average Australian household, as an only child to a fairly unremarkable pair of parents; his father was a tradie and his mother stayed home as a housewife. Growing up, he'd find he was naturally well-liked and popular with his athleticism, excelling at any sport he would pick up. And after going into his high school education, he would also gain interest in politics, growing enamored with the idea of becoming a leader and bringing about change.
And so by his senior year, Bellamy was an accomplished athlete unparalleled on the high school scene, an avid public speaker who was known to always express his thoughts, and all-round the man of the hour, effortless to like and impossible to hate. Even before college, he had dreams and goals to step into politics and make some real change, this was something he was more than passionate about and for the most part, no one could honestly say it was out of his reach.
But it had all fallen apart with a car accident or rather a prevented car accident. It was a day like any other; walking home with a group of friends after school and jaywalking without a care in the world, like every other teenager at one point. The driver couldn't have noticed, texting while driving, and if it were anyone else the day would have ended with a tragic car accident.
If. The speeding car inexplicably slows down to a halt in moments, in front of Bellamy with his hands spread out towards the impending crash.
It didn't take long for news to spread across the town, whatever clout and popularity he had built up over his life would instantly be replaced with fear, disgust, and hate of his newly discovered status. It took even shorter for him to be caught, the local mutant hate group were deadset rabid to get their hands on a mutant. Getting hunted down, caught, beaten and branded like an animal, all without support in any shape or form from his family and friends, had utterly broken Bellamy. All of his confidence and aspirations to become a leader had been stricken down from the personal acts of betrayals by those he trusted.
Years had past for Bellamy to have coped, travelling halfway across the world, far, far away from the memories of his past. He would drift across the Americas, never staying in one place for long, doing as he pleases using his powers. Yet through this, his passion and fire to bring change still remained though he could never bear the role of a leader. It would be long before he would find Magneto, the leader worthy to serve for mutantkind’s cause.
