Approaching the Guild's 10 year anniversary

Simply put, this place is like hell. To some it's a place they want to be but for others it's agony. I've experienced both but this place is also the only reason I have online friends so yeah.

From guilds falling to bots invading to shitposters invading the status bar, this place is responsible for a number of ghosts in my life but by hell or or high water I keep coming back.

When I found this place I was 12, and in a few months I'll be 15. So yeah.

I've been a member since late 2011 and... Jeez... going on 6 years of RPing almost exclusively on one site. -And frankly this is the only online community that I'm a member of, with the exception of Facebook groups. It's, as some other members have said, a home-away-from-home. It's a place I can come to chat with like-minded people and do some writing.

The spammers and bots and attacksers suck - whenever the Guild would go away for a time, it felt as though there was a void that needed to be filled. From that I started playing Dungeons and Dragons with some friends at college, but it's not the same as an in-depth roleplay where you're not restricted by the confines of verbal conveyance. I've also done LARP, but it, again, is not the same.

The spam forum, while it is a cesspool that should be contained, is where most of the chatting and general dickery happens and I've enjoyed my time there... well sorta.

I realize that there's no way I can convey what the guild means to me with a single post, so I'll go for a gif instead.

Honestly the guild has been like a second home to me. I've meet some great people all over the world. Without the guild I would still be in a very dark place in my life, perhaps continuing to spiral down due to high school drama and bullying. The guild has helped me forget that life can be cruel and some people can be crueler at times. Funny thing is if it wasn't for me joining after high school I would still be pretty bad at my writing. Heh. Thanks to the people I've met I've improved a lot. So thank you @Mahz for creating this guild. I look forward to this site growing and more friendships being made.

That said I have no idea why I'm here. But I've enjoyed it so far.

To me the guild is much like my group of old school friends; in that we go months/years apart, but it feels like nothing's changed when we reunite.
