Ever since the dawn of time, humans have constantly adapted to any situation. To live and thrive to the best of their skills and abilities. However, what if I told you that creative thinking and our own enduring spirits weren't the only thing that influenced our lives? What if those stories about mythical creatures and supernatural happenings were real? And aliens? Psh, what is this, some sci-fi story? Eehh, somewhat... but, uh, yeah, there are aliens.

Ever since the dawn of time, humans have always had abilities that far extended the reach of regular beings. Some people call it magic. Others of a religious standing denounce it as mere workings of the devil. However, I prefer to call these special quirks some of us have superpowers.

Tell me, have any of you heard of Superman and his abilities to fly, or heard of Wolverine and how he can regenerate at a swift rate? There is a small amount of humans with these sorts of abilities, at least around one to three percent of the human population. I'm sure all of you are wondering how you might obtain these powers, whether it be through radioactive goop you can swim through, or finding a strange artifact of power.

And let me tell you that the first one will kill you... unless you were born with the genetics to consume or resist the properties that would kill a "normal" human-being. Yes, that's right, genetics! Our scientists at [REDACTED] have discovered that, in layman's terms, every human has an off or on switch as to whether or not their powers activate. This means you can have increased speed to the point where you can run across water, or you could easily commune with those who have passed on.

Those people are usually the ones who have influenced the world in some shape or form. Take Alexander the Great as an example. The man was a tactical genius, but what if I told you that was because he had the ability to see into the future, which allowed him to rely on that sight? And the werewolf myth? A bunch of people with the ability to morph into a wolf-like creature got really drunk.

However, that isn't important.

Going back on the topic, the superpowered population is much smaller than the non-powered population. Many people today look on with shock and awe over how a superpowered person would rampage through a city while another would work to stop them. Mayhaps some would swoon upon knowing they were being saved by one of them.

Let me tell you that this world isn't ready to know about the identities of these people.

There is a mixture of amazement and fear that is perpetuated through the system, with myriads of more emotions being commonplace for people who are pro and anti-super. And I'm going to tell you all straight out that I am pro-super. Many government officials and big-wig people are as well. We believe that superpowered humans are the future for us, create a world where someone who can bench-press 20-tons or breathe fire as normal.

Hm? Why don't we just let them know about their identities? Again, pro and anti-super. Some examples would be witch-hunts would take place to try and destroy these people; other times, people would try to bask in their glory and generally interrupt their daily lives. It's a lose-lose situation for both normal people and supers.

There are people out there every day who abuse their powers and end up getting hurt or hurting others. There are people out there every day who don't understand how to use their powers and end up getting hurt or hurting others. We seek to gather up these youths and educate them on how to responsibly use their powers, whilst giving them a chance to live a normal life.

Hm? Why would they want to live a normal life? Do you think fighting "villains" will pay the bills? Well... somewhat, but that isn't the point...

Moving on... hm, what about genetics? Is it possible for superpowered parents to have a non-powered child? Yes, but the chance of that happening is so slim that for every one non-powered child born from superpowered parents there are one-thousand superpowered children born from non-powered parents. You would have to be extremely unlucky under those circumstances.

Hm? Powers manifesting late? Yes, that is definitely common. Usually around the ages of one to four, children will not have access to these abilities. Around the age of five is when these powers start to become evident. The latest age they can manifest is at the age of ten. Once they're eleven, the chance of them not having powers rises up exponentially.

What are the chances? Oh, give or take one-hundred percent.

Hm? Problems about some non-powered people not knowing what to do in this situation when they give birth to a superpowered child? We have trained agents, as well as other supers who work in finding these individuals and talking them through it, as well as talking to the child about their gift.

Huh, what's this about artifacts? Ah yes, I did mention them earlier. Artifacts, an electrically powered heart, tomes, items of power, et cetera can give a regular person superpowers without the need to flip the on switch for genetics. We call these things "Conduits."

... and if you're thinking what I think you are thinking, then yes, they do lose their powers if they do not have access to a Conduit.

We are ATLAS, a huge, multi-trillion dollar company dedicated to educating that the youths of today and tomorrow over how to properly handle their abilities and live proper lives as human-beings. While our major function is to prepare superpowered children for the real world, we have other tasks as well, such as regulating and stopping those who might abuse their powers, seeking new candidates to attend one of our prestigious academies, etc.

Let me start you all off with a warm welcome to our roleplay. Savo's the name, and with my two beautiful co-gms, Surtr and Rune_Alchemist, we'll be taking you all along for a ride on the superpowered side, whether you have the genetics or not.

From what you gathered in the introduction (if you read the introduction) this is a superpower academy roleplay (how original, amirite) with a couple inspirations from different anime such as Kill La Kill, Boku no Pico Hero Academia, etc. No prior knowledge over these shows is required in the slightest since the story is as original as one can get with superpowered academy's. Another inspiration that spurred me to create this rp with my fellow gms was a roleplay called Herculean Academy. Pretty old, two years to be precise, so I guess nostalgia might play in a bit, eheh.

For the most part, all information about the world will be kept up to date in the "Superpowers and Lore" section, so be sure to check it out. If you didn't read the introduction, I highly suggest you do so as it will give you an idea of the type of world your character lives in. If there are any questions you have that cannot be found in the introduction or section mentioned, shoot one of your gms a question. We'll be happy to answer.

Speaking of characters, everyone will be starting off as newbies to this place, so the maximum amount of training you should have should be about average; the lowest would be none. As time passes on, you will grow stronger, form bonds, and this is starting to sound like a shounen anime now, isn't it.

With that said, strap on folks, hope you aren't claustrophobic, afraid of being underwater, or both because you all are going to wake up asleep in a tram taking you all to your new homes!... at least, until you graduate. Try not to turn into a demonic beast while waiting for the ride to end, some students might be anxious as is...

Genetics and Superpowers

Congrats, you are one of the lucky few who have been born with superpowers! Too bad there are people who would prefer to either see you dead or constantly drown you in their affections. As you know, in this world, every single human being has the chance to be born with superpowers due to genetics. In simple terms, a certain gene has to be on or off for you to utilize your powers. If it's off, well darn, maybe your child might be born with powers! If it's on, congrats, not only do you have powers, but your child will have powers too... most likely.

Depending on the mother and father, a child can inherit certain genetics that allow them to utilize a certain power. For example, if two telekinetic users have a child, their child will have telekinesis too! However, if a telekinetic user and a shapeshifter have a child, the child will inherit both their parents powers. However, the child will only be able to use one of their parents powers and cannot switch between them at all. This, again, falls to genetics.

Expanding on this example, lets say the father had the genetics for telekinesis and shapeshifting, whilst the mother had genetics for breathing fire and morphing their bones. The child would inherit all four of these powers, however would only have access to one of them.

Depending on the parents, the child can either be born with the ability to use superpowers, or the ability not to. The chance of two superpowered parents having a superpowered child is 99.9%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 0.1%. The chance of one superpowered parent and one non-powered parent having a superpowered child is 60%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 40%. The chance of two non-powered parents having a superpowered child is 5%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 95%.

If a non-powered child that is born from one or two parent's with superpowers, then their chance of their child having superpowers increases exponentially. If a non-powered child that was born from supers has a child with another non-powered human, then their chances of having a superpowered child is 60% and the chance of them having a non-powered child is 40%. If two non-powered humans born from superpowered parents comes together, however, their chance of having a superpowered child is 97%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 3%. If the non-powered child that was born from a super has a child with a superpowered human, then their chances of having a child with superpowers is 99.9%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 0.1%.

((As an OOC note biological powers cannot alter certain genetics, such as the power a person was born with, altering the "on" or "off" function of the superpower genome, allow a person to have another superpower, etc.))

Conduits

Well, you might not have superpowers, but you could be considered lucky as well!... or unlucky depending on your viewpoint. However, what if I told you there is a way to get superpowers without having to alter your genetics!... not like the technology is available to do so... Regardless, the way a regular human-being can get powers are through Conduits! Conduits are powerful items that give a person the powers of a superpowered human without the need to be born as one!

These items, however, do not change the persons genetics, so it's not like you can toss it away after grabbing it and utilizing your new power, oh no. In fact, you have to keep your Conduit on you to even use your powers! If damaged or lost, you will be unable to use your newfound powers, so keep it close and unharmed.

Conduits do have a price to pay like superpowers... but unlike superpowers, it is nearly impossible to lessen the downfalls that come with using a Conduit. If you have a Conduit that gives you nightmares every night, enjoy having that for the rest of your life!... unless you lose the item itself. Like the powers that can be rendered unusable if you lose the Conduit, so too will the weaknesses go.

Aliens?!

Aliens? In this superpowered universe? Well, yes, aliens are par for the course here. These beings on Earth are very, very, very rare to come across. There aren't many around traversing the streets, unless they are disguised as humans.

Governments and organizations such as ATLAS have taken time to cover up stories of aliens and other extra-terrestrial beings. While UFO sightings can still be considered a thing, there hardly is any tangible truth as to whether or not we are alone in the universe...

... well, to the public. Superpowered humans and other organizations are quite aware of the existence of aliens, but honestly have no clue who they might be, or what their appearance could be.

((As an OOC note, you can play as an alien attending Palladium Academy, but you would be under hard surveillance and have a "handler" with you on and off the island. Hopefully you both have a good cover story! Along with that, I will be allowing only FOUR characters as aliens. If you wish to keep their existence a secret, pm me and my two other gms. If someone tries to make a fifth alien, I will then announce that the slots are all closed an apologize. Why would I do this? Because I'm a sadistic bastard that enjoys turning someone down. OOC Rules

1. Don't be a jerk. If there's any place you should be a jerk, it's with your character in the ic... but only if it makes sense. Drama in ic is fun, drama in ooc is a recipe for disaster. If you're having problems with someone in the ooc, don't take it out on them icly or continue acting abrasive. Take it to pms, or if neither of you can settle it, the gm's will be the ones to judge.

2. Be cool, be clean. Or in simpler terms, respect your fellow roleplayers! As a follow-up to the prior post, please stay civil with everyone else. You don't need to be buddy buddy with em', but you don't have to act rude towards them.

3. This is a dictatorship. Bet this rule caught your eye. Essentially, it's more like it boils down to the gm's have the final say in all this. We will do our best to be fair to you all, but once the final judgement is called, there is no turning back. So if we ask you to change anything on your posts, character sheets or anything, please change it. If you disrupt the ooc peace, you get the boot. Simple as that.

4. First come, first serve. The slots in this roleplay will be limited to about the first sixteen people who apply. Once we've reached that many people, we are closing our metaphorical gates... at least until each arc ends. Every time we finish an arc, we will allow other people to join in, but only like one to three. This will not count for the prologue or the final arc.

5. Keep a healthy ooc. An active ooc is a good ooc... and it doesn't even have to be about the roleplay. If you all have some common interest, like a show, book, game, et cetera, chat about it.

6. You wanna disappear? Or rather, you want to leave the roleplay or go on hiatus? Please alert me or my gm of either on of these things, primarily the latter if you just need a break. Otherwise, we will assume that you have quit the roleplay.

1. Comply with the standard roleplaying rules. This means don't auto-hit, no bunnying, no god-moding, no metagaming, etc. You get the drill.

2. There will be collaboration posts. To help with pacing, so the ic isn't constantly getting cluttered all the time, and

3. The post length of paragraphs will be set at two. Aye, the bare minimum is two paragraphs for post length. Please do you best to have quality over quantity with your posts... unless you can combine both of these two things.

4. So this is a superpowered academy which means there will be superpowered fights, right? Yes, there will be fights in this roleplay. Try to be creative and have fun with your fights. If you're just getting your character into fights just to prove they are "the best" without any real reason behind it other than the that, I'll introduce someone who will be sure to knock em down.

5. Be like Joseph Joestar my friends and think things through! While having fun with fights and such, please plan them accordingly with the other person, especially the outcome. That way, we can avoid arguments over which character wins and loses. This is no game, this is a story.

6. Eat your character development fruits and vegetables people. Try to make your characters dynamic to some degree and have them change over time... that doesn't mean to give them a power boost like a super saiyen every time they lose a fight, or need to deus ex machina their asses out of a bad situation.

7. Ohnoe, there's romance/sex/whatever your fetish is here that is going on! This is allowed, as long as you do the usual "fade to black" shtick. For deviants who want to get into detail about this, take this somewhere privately.

1. Telekinesis, Demonic Manifestation, and Smoke Manipulation, oh my! Any powers you can think of goes... unless the gms think it's overpowered. Get creative if you like with these superpowers! Go along with some of the more basic ones if you like, I don't care. Just try to have a creative and colorful character.

2. There are no winners here... unless you count having fun and creating a nice narrative as winning, then I won't stop you there. Go on and win that way! If you view winning as creating the strongest, toughest, most badass character here who screams "I'm then main protagonist here," then you'll most likely run into a brick wall with the gms. If there is something that we think is op, we will ask you to change it. Try not to worm your way around this with certain word choices as the consequences won't be pretty.

3. If you're making someone with a Conduit, feel free to get creative! Whether it's a gun that is fueled by blood, an eye that lets you induce fear but causes you to have nightmares every night, or a tome that weakens your physical traits but in return gives you powers that could be considered "magical," go with it! I hope to see multiple characters with

Depending on the parents, the child can either be born with the ability to use superpowers, or the ability not to. The chance of two superpowered parents having a superpowered child is 99.9%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 0.1%. The chance of one superpowered parent and one non-powered parent having a superpowered child is 60%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 40%. The chance of two non-powered parents having a superpowered child is 5%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 95%.

If a non-powered child that is born from one or two parent's with superpowers, then their chance of their child having superpowers increases exponentially. If a non-powered child that was born from supers has a child with another non-powered human, then their chances of having a superpowered child is 60% and the chance of them having a non-powered child is 40%. If two non-powered humans born from superpowered parents comes together, however, their chance of having a superpowered child is 97%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 3%. If the non-powered child that was born from a super has a child with a superpowered human, then their chances of having a child with superpowers is 99.9%, while the chance of them having a non-powered child is 0.1%.

((As an OOC note biological powers cannot alter certain genetics, such as the power a person was born with, altering the "on" or "off" function of the superpower genome, allow a person to have another superpower, etc. And as another note, the fact that genetics are related to people having superpowers is not public knowledge as of right now. Only people working at ATLAS and the government have access to this information.))

Conduits

Well, you might not have superpowers, but you could be considered lucky as well!... or unlucky depending on your viewpoint. However, what if I told you there is a way to get superpowers without having to alter your genetics!... not like the technology is available to do so... Regardless, the way a regular human-being can get powers are through Conduits! Conduits are powerful items that give a person the powers of a superpowered human without the need to be born as one!

These items, however, do not change the persons genetics, so it's not like you can toss it away after grabbing it and utilizing your new power, oh no. In fact, you have to keep your Conduit on you to even use your powers! If damaged or lost, you will be unable to use your newfound powers, so keep it close and unharmed.

Conduits do have a price to pay like superpowers... but unlike superpowers, it is nearly impossible to lessen the downfalls that come with using a Conduit. If you have a Conduit that gives you nightmares every night, enjoy having that for the rest of your life!... unless you lose the item itself. Like the powers that can be rendered unusable if you lose the Conduit, so too will the weaknesses go.

Aliens?!

Aliens? In this superpowered universe? Well, yes, aliens are par for the course here. These beings on Earth are very, very, very rare to come across. There aren't many around traversing the streets, unless they are disguised as humans.

Governments and organizations such as ATLAS have taken time to cover up stories of aliens and other extra-terrestrial beings. While UFO sightings can still be considered a thing, there hardly is any tangible truth as to whether or not we are alone in the universe...

... well, to the public. Superpowered humans and other organizations are quite aware of the existence of aliens, but honestly have no clue who they might be, or what their appearance could be.

((As an OOC note, you can play as an alien attending Palladium Academy, but you would be under hard surveillance and have a "handler" with you on and off the island. Hopefully you both have a good cover story! Along with that, I will be allowing only FOUR characters as aliens. If you wish to keep their existence a secret, pm me and my two other gms. If someone tries to make a fifth alien, I will then announce that the slots are all closed an apologize. Why would I do this? Because I'm a sadistic bastard that enjoys turning someone down. To avoid spoilers.))

ATLAS

Established at the beginning of 1944 by the Allies, ATLAS was originally dedicated to finding a way to create super-humans as a way to get an edge on the Axis Powers. However, the research bore no fruit and did not succeed in what they were originally supposed to accomplish. While it would of been disbanded, as it turns out, some of the members of the board in ATLAS had superpowers who then decided with other non-powered humans to take ATLAS in another direction.

Through their own experiences of their youth, those with powers and those without established a new goal for ATLAS, which has allowed it to grow into one of the hugest companies today. Their mission is to find youths and educate them on how to control their powers, as well as turn them into proper members of society. Due to the war leaving the other countries in Europe with a lack of funds, they were only backed by the US government, but with a deal.

If this failed, ATLAS would be permanently disbanded.

However, ATLAS did succeed with its first establishment being in Washington D.C., which brought most kids from around the US that had powers the education on their powers that they needed. While there was some hardships, ultimately, ATLAS raised these children to meet the standards they set on themselves. Seeing as this wasn't a complete waste of time, the government put more funding in, allowing for them to expand.

In 1964, the first of many Academy's created by ATLAS was established - Palladium Academy. While there was multitudes of scientific research and breakthroughs there as well, it still successfully managed to get the job done. With the coming times, ATLAS had transformed, turning from somewhat of a school sect and training facility to one of a corporate HQ.

Palladium Academy had undergone a lot of changes too, mainly to twist the arms of some students who decided to try and be lazy so they could get a free pass through life there. Usually this school is favorable amongst family's who have had access to superpowers for most of their life to send their kids there... if they have powers. Hey, it is one of the more advanced Academy's of the time and is known for producing upstanding citizens who don't abuse their powers... usually.

Along with ATLAS' growth, they have expanded their reach with agents. These agents range from "Handlers," who keep tabs on aliens, to "Watchdogs," who usually keep their eye out for those with superpowers, whether they are families of superpowered humans, a superpowered human in a non-powered family, criminals, etc.

While there are other one or two other corporations dedicated to this field, so far, ATLAS has the best grasp on it.

School District Locations

This is where most of your time will be spent furthering your education, whether it ranges from expanding your mastery and wisdom over powers, or mundane but useful bits of knowledge that will help you in jobs to come. This building is said to rival the heights of skyscrapers, but most say that's a hyperbole... Regardless, it is cylindrical in shape, sporting a hole at the center with a fortified glass dome over it. At the center of it all is the Physical Education Arena, spanning a large flat area.

While this school is sleek to an almost monochromatic rule as if a sort of laboratory, the insides of classrooms thankfully have more character... if the teacher decided to design what the inside of it looked like. Usually classes are held on higher floors, near the Phys Ed Arena. This sometimes results in teachers closing the windows when most students get distracted.

Just ignore the fact that you can't access some rooms unless you're a faculty staff member with correct permissions and you should adjust quite well to this new setting! There are trams that are located usually at the lowest level and multiple huge elevators that are designed primarily for transferring students between the loading area and the main school. There are also multiple elevators scattered about for easy access to most floors... and stairs, if you feel like taking them.

Mundane Education Rooms

Found on floors seven to nine, these are essentially where your arithmetic courses, science courses, history, language, almost any courses you can name are found in this area. While you can get a good glimpse of the inside of the Phys Ed Arena, most of the time, the windows are shut. The size of these rooms vary in size, ranging from a regular classroom to a lecture hall found at most colleges. Another thing to note that half of floor nine is composed primarily of the huge library. Anywho, try not to fall asleep.

Superpower Education Rooms

Found on floors ten to twelve, this is where you'll spend a majority of your time learning over powers, ranging from generalists to specifics. For the most part expect a lot of knowledge to be drilled into you over your powers and expect demonstrations of what you can do to be commonplace here. Unlike the Mundane Education Rooms, the lecture halls have another function - they can turn into a miniature arena on the fly, hiding the teachers items and essentials bellow the arena. This is where the demonstrations of power usually go on. Another thing to note is that half of floor ten is composed primarily of the huge library. Have fun!

Club Room's

Found on floors five to six, this is where you can find most clubs hanging out and performing in club activities. To start up a club, you need to have five students in total for it, yourself included. The club rooms are usually very spacious, being somewhat smaller than lecture halls, allowing for the room to accommodate for certain activities. As an example being the Boxing Club having a boxing arena at the center of it, punching bags situated around, gloves and such, you name it.

Phys Ed Arena

The entrance is on the first floor, near the "official" entrance of the school. Classes here are usually ran by the Student Evaluation Proctor, and can be brutal at times since she is one of the few who has full control over the arena. This arena has three forms. The basic form is usually a flat, seemingly dirt field. The Proctor can usually change the environment, adding hills, arranging for a pool of water, or dropping in some good ol' fashion robots to take down... or she could add a track field like some normal person...

The next form it takes is known as Evaluation Form. When set to this mode, a number of humongous square cubicles emerge from below. The inside environment of these cubicles can be altered on a whim to fit the tasks presented by those running evaluations, sort of like the basic form.

Finally, there is the Auditorium Form. While seldom used, it seems to only appear for two reasons - when new students start to arrive and are given an introduction to the school (usually after Evaluations the next day), or for students who are graduating. When going into this state, the glass dome is shrouded by a metallic dome that closes in over it. A stage rises from the center and the dirt turns into a floor akin to velvet with stage seats appearing from it all.

Training Rooms

Located on the first floor, unless school has ended, usually these rooms will remain unoccupied. The training rooms are a lot smaller than the Phys Ed Arena's evaluation cubicles. They look like sleek test chambers, with silver squares and black dashes lining the place. They also have features that users of the room can utilize to a limited extent, creating basic environments, and putting certain objects in certain places. Some of the other features can be accessed, but only if under the supervision of a teacher.

Tram Elevators

Located on the left side of the Phys Ed Arena, these are huge elevators that can fit up to one-hundred students. Going through takes you down to the loading area where you can head to any of the other districts/islands, whether it is the Residential, Shopping, or even Arena district! Trams take five minutes going from one island to another.

Library

Located of floors nine and ten, this library takes up half of these floors, being the size of a shopping mall. There are elevators, escalators, stairs, you name it here for getting from one level to the next. While technology has advanced to the point where you can get books on a tablet, this library emulates the feeling of being within a specific setting that you're looking for. Fantasy books will no doubt have some sort of mythical feel to it when you're walking out of what seems to be a "magical" sort of forest. While some view this as a bit childish, even they have a difficult time doubting what they see due to how realistic it feels.

Cafeteria

Located on the first floor, it is seated at the right side of the Phys Ed Arena. This place strangely emulates the feeling of going to a high class restaurant. Humans and robots alike can be found working here, preparing food for the buffet. Students often bring up the school sanctioned menu, via requesting one from one of the workers here. When doing so, they'll ask where your table is and then activate a hologram from the projector in the middle of the table. You can then access breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, foreign foods, etc. Enjoy feeling out of place!

OOC Rules

1. Don't be a jerk. If there's any place you should be a jerk, it's with your character in the ic... but only if it makes sense. Drama in ic is fun, drama in ooc is a recipe for disaster. If you're having problems with someone in the ooc, don't take it out on them icly or continue acting abrasive. Take it to pms, or if neither of you can settle it, the gm's will be the ones to judge.

2. Be cool, be clean. Or in simpler terms, respect your fellow roleplayers! As a follow-up to the prior post, please stay civil with everyone else. You don't need to be buddy buddy with em', but you don't have to act rude towards them.

3. This is a dictatorship. Bet this rule caught your eye. Essentially, it's more like it boils down to the gm's have the final say in all this. We will do our best to be fair to you all, but once the final judgement is called, there is no turning back. So if we ask you to change anything on your posts, character sheets or anything, please change it. If you disrupt the ooc peace, you get the boot. Simple as that.

4. First come, first serve. The slots in this roleplay will be limited to about the first sixteen people who apply. Once we've reached that many people, we are closing our metaphorical gates... at least until each arc ends. Every time we finish an arc, we will allow other people to join in, but only like one to three. This will not count for the prologue or the final arc.

5. Keep a healthy ooc. An active ooc is a good ooc... and it doesn't even have to be about the roleplay. If you all have some common interest, like a show, book, game, et cetera, chat about it.

6. You wanna disappear? Or rather, you want to leave the roleplay or go on hiatus? Please alert me or my gm of either on of these things, primarily the latter if you just need a break. Otherwise, we will assume that you have quit the roleplay.

7. Have fun. After all, that's what roleplaying is about.

IC Rules

1. Comply with the standard roleplaying rules. This means don't auto-hit, no bunnying, no god-moding, no metagaming, etc. You get the drill.

2. There will be collaboration posts. To help with pacing, so the ic isn't constantly getting cluttered all the time, and

3. The post length of paragraphs will be set at two. Aye, the bare minimum is two paragraphs for post length. Please do you best to have quality over quantity with your posts... unless you can combine both of these two things.

4. So this is a superpowered academy which means there will be superpowered fights, right? Yes, there will be fights in this roleplay. Try to be creative and have fun with your fights. If you're just getting your character into fights just to prove they are "the best" without any real reason behind it other than the that, I'll introduce someone who will be sure to knock em down.

5. Be like Joseph Joestar my friends and think things through! While having fun with fights and such, please plan them accordingly with the other person, especially the outcome. That way, we can avoid arguments over which character wins and loses. This is no game, this is a story.

6. Eat your character development fruits and vegetables people. Try to make your characters dynamic to some degree and have them change over time... that doesn't mean to give them a power boost like a super saiyen every time they lose a fight, or need to deus ex machina their asses out of a bad situation.

7. Ohnoe, there's romance/sex/whatever your fetish is here that is going on! This is allowed, as long as you do the usual "fade to black" shtick. For deviants who want to get into detail about this, take this somewhere privately.

Character Sheet Rules

1. Telekinesis, Demonic Manifestation, and Smoke Manipulation, oh my! Any powers you can think of goes... unless the gms think it's overpowered. Get creative if you like with these superpowers! Go along with some of the more basic ones if you like, I don't care. Just try to have a creative and colorful character.

2. There are no winners here... unless you count having fun and creating a nice narrative as winning, then I won't stop you there. Go on and win that way! If you view winning as creating the strongest, toughest, most badass character here who screams "I'm then main protagonist here," then you'll most likely run into a brick wall with the gms. If there is something that we think is op, we will ask you to change it. Try not to worm your way around this with certain word choices as the consequences won't be pretty.

3. If you're making someone with a Conduit, feel free to get creative! Whether it's a gun that is fueled by blood, an eye that lets you induce fear but causes you to have nightmares every night, or a tome that weakens your physical traits but in return gives you powers that could be considered "magical," go with it! I hope to see multiple characters with

4. No reservations, period. Please do not say you're reserving this power, or these abilities. I'm ok if some people have the same or similar powers. However, if we end up with a ridiculous amount of characters with a certain power, I am putting a cap on it.

5. Your character sheets will always go in the ooc first until they are accepted. And as a follow-up to the prior rule, don't reserve a spot in the character tab. Only gms can break this rule... so yeah.

6. No work in progress sheets.Don't post your wip sheets. I'll probably end up forgetting they existed if you posted them in a certain place and altered them over time. If you want us to review what you have currently, send me and my co-gms a pm so we can all review it together.

Backstory:

Samson used to be an ordinary kid living in Chicago, as the youngest of three in his family. He and his brothers played near the abandoned train tracks of his town, pretending that they were cowboys and indians. On a tragic day, the first train in years came through, while the three of them were playing. While his brothers quickly and safely dodged out of the way, he stepped out of the way too soon, and the passing train knocked his arm off. His brothers and him were already screaming in terror, but it completely surprised them when his discarded arm completely disintegrated into black and red lightning, which flowed into his fresh stump, and completely reconstructed itself. The incident ocurred when he was eight years old, and took his family by surprise, as neither of his parents were superpowered.
When he was 12 years old, Samson started demonstrating reckless behaviors. No matter what he did, he would always regenerate his body. Despite the concern from his brother and family, he waltzed carelessly. It was when he snuck away one night, and stood in front of the same tracks of the train that caused him to first realize his abilities. Concerned, his younger brother followed him, and demanded he return home at once. He refused, and the two of them argued, until the train came. Samsons brother lunged, and pushed him out of the way, but he himself was collided. While he did survive, he was permanently crippled. Samson's destructive tendencies died after that. He avoided using his powers completely for years, until he received his letter to Palladium Academy. While he at first tried to ignore it, his crippled brother insist he go, to perhaps learn his powers in a more useful manor. Samson went, as a favor to him.

Power Set

Name:

Molecular Regeneration

Abilities:

Samson power flows through his entire body, fusing with every atom of his being. As a result, any damage done to him will turn into energy, place itself at the point of damage, and reform. The ability is visible as the damaged caused to his body turning into yellow wisps of light, that will attempt to gather back where it belongs, forging back together in a crucible of red lightning. To a certain degree, he can focus to make his body regenerate faster, including which order of damage to his body will recover first. Also, when he has several wounded areas at once, He can choose to relocate the different atoms into different locations. For example, if he were to lose a foot and an arm, he could concentrate atoms of his foot into the regeneration of his arm.
The effect of his healing is most visible when he regenerates a severed limb. In terms of massive physical trauma that separates his body, it appears that the smaller portion of his body is the part that dissolves. Cutting off his head has no effect, but he will be disoriented after for a short while after regenerating from a decapitation. The way to force his regeneration to take the longest would be to slice him in half perfectly down the middle, as both parts will have to dematerialize and reform together, as neither half can recognize it as smaller than the other. Yet he doesn't have to worry about regenerating constant cells as his power doesn't work on anything below the average growth/death cell cycle.

Weaknesses:

Samson's Molecular Regeneration has it's obvious limits, however. The more damage he takes in a short period of time, the slower he takes to regenerate. It also doesn't protect him from natural body conditions, such as hunger, thirst, or suffocation. While it may keep him from taking physical harm, the process of regenerating can be exhausting. He also describes his regeneration as painful, feeling like he is being electrocuted. And while his regeneration ignores regular Cell death, it would also not provide any immunity to diseases/status's that increase the rate of cell death, such as Cancer or hair loss.

Appearance:

Baihua is of Asian Descent, standing at 5"6', weighing 161 pounds, with short, blunt, white hair. Her eyes are a dull red. She usually wears a white jacket over a pink turtleneck sweater and a light blue long skirt, as well as light-purple shoes. She often carries around a white handbag, often containing an assortment of flowers.

Backstory:

Baihua was born in China in 1959, shortly after the existence of supers was rapidly becoming common knowledge. Much of China was xenophobic towards superhumans, apalled by the destruction many of them were capable of. When Baihua turned 7, her powers manifested, to the distress of her parents. They attempted to flee the country in 1968, yet her parents were captured and executed, while she managed to escape to Japan, alone.
Baihua lived alone for 3 years, but at 12 years old, she joined a traveling circus of Superhumans, whose powers were more flashy and exuberant than dangerous, and used their abilities to show others that not all superpowers are dangerous. She earned the nickname "Winter Lotus" while traveling with them.
Tragedy struck, however, at the age of 18, when in the middle of a performance a group of radicals attacked, threatening to kill everyone unless the entire traveling show would surrender and turn themselves over. In the heat of rage, Baihua used her abilities to suffocate the ringleader with petals she was using in her performance, triggering the rest of the group to retaliate. While the radicals were defeated, in a sense they won. An entire circus full of onlookers saw first hand that even powers that seem benign can be dangerous. A week later, the circus disbanded. Baihua still lived with another member, Oni, who she saw as a father. Life went on as normal for her. At the age of 23, she became a botany teacher, married, and had a son at age 28. When she was 32, she received a letter in the mail. It was an invitation to teach at Palladium Academy, an academy for young superhumans to exercise their powers. Knowing how important it still was to teach the world that not all powers are harmful, she eagerly accepted.

Power Set

Name:

Lotus Manipulation

Abilities:

Baihua can manipulate Flowers by placing her power into them. Not any plant, just plants with a part that would count as a Flower. By storing her power into her flowers, she can manipulate their growth, as well as color and shape. If she puts enough energy into a flower, it will detect anything within a certain range of them, yet she cannot visibly see, only detect the objects as they move. Even passively, flowers storing her power will grow faster, longer, and have more extravagant blossoms, as well as notifying her if they are harmed. Even if severed, the actual flower tip can be levitated and moved by her remotely, in large quantities so long as she focuses. She can even severe a flower, manipulate it, and so long as it wasn't harmed, placed it right back into place. Yet obviously, separating a flower's petal for too long will lead to the base's eventual death. She has also designed her own breeds of flowers, thanks to her ability to manipulate them.
Surprisingly, her powers can be used in battle, albeit she must be prepared. One of her methods is carrying around a pouch of specially made flowers, including petals with sharp edges that function as shurikens, and the "Kissing Flower", which will latch onto the opponent and drain them of energy.

Weaknesses:

Baihu's obvious weakness is fire, which can quickly reduce any of her flowers to cinders. She herself isn't a trained fighter, meaning she prefers to fight at a distance.

Basic Information

Appearance:

Galen has white hair and brilliant blue eyes, but his features are otherwise plain. His jawline is undefined, his nose slightly larger than average, and his eyebrows bushy and prominent. Galen cares very little for his appearance, and as such is usually in a state of disarray.
His hair is kept short so he generally doesn't have to bother with it, but when it grows out a bit it is constantly messy. Galen is fit,
but not body-builder fit... more strength than show. He dislikes form-fitting clothing, but isn't terribly concerned with covering his upper body either. When given the choice, he usually wears a loose-fitting tank top and jeans or cargo pants. The only downside to this is that it allows people to see the scars that cover his arms (and the rest of his body) from various wounds he has healed.

Galen doesn't care much about himself. Even though there is no proof of where superpowers come from, he firmly believes that his was given to him for a purpose-to help others. Of course, since helping others means hurting himself, his ideology couldn't survive if he considered his own life above others. So he doesn't. As far as he is concerned, he was made to serve and to help. Galen believes in the best in people, and is therefore somewhat naive. He is trusting to a fault- one of his biggest flaws. Another is that his disregard for himself leaves little room for self-reflection, and he often doesn't realize the recklessness of his actions or the emotional or physical toll he will have to deal with based on his decisions.

Backstory:

Galen Ryker was the first in his family to have superpowers. Actually, he was the first in his entire town. Not that that was all that impressive, considering the town consisted of only a couple hundred people. After discovering his healing ability at age 7, his parents were thrilled. That is, until they saw him heal another person. The self-harming aspect of his powers scared them, and they forbade him from using it.
But Galen had other plans. As he approached his teenage years, he began to rebel against his parents' ruling, claiming they "just didn't understand." He had these abilities for a reason, and he intended to use them. His idealism drove him to desire life as a hero. He started sneaking out and visiting local hospitals, clinics... even animal shelters. Unused to the pain at first, these visits would leave him incapacitated. Yet he kept going.
At first his parents tried to stop him, but that only made him more determined. When he healed a fatal wound and nearly died (the only time he's managed to control the extent of his power) he was put into a coma for nearly 3 years. He wanted to start working instead of going to school, since he would now be so much older than any of the the first-year students at a normal school. A few months after he awoke, a nurse from the hospital he was in showed up at his door, claiming to be from an organization for superpowered people. She said she had seen him sneaking in to heal the patients (much to his embarrassment), and offered him a place at a school for people with special abilities, provided his parents allowed it. His parents decided to send him to Palladium Academy in hopes that they would teach him not to be so reckless with his abilities.

Recovery

Abilities:

-Sacrifice: Galen can transfer physical pain from another person to himself. Wounds have the same effect on him after the power is used that they would have had on their original recipient. He can control the extent of this power (allowing him to share and reduce pain but not entirely eliminate it while maintaining more of his own strength), but has not yet learned to do this reliably. At this point in his development, his power is still largely in the "all or nothing" stage, so healing a lethal wound is highly likely to kill him. Because of this ability, Galen's pain tolerance and self-repairing abilities are far above that of the average person. While he is by no means invulnerable, wounds obtain both physically and by transference through his Sacrifice ability heal about ten times as fast as they would on the average person. (ex.- A minor leg fracture usually results in around 8 weeks of recovery time. After breaking his leg or healing someone else's, Galen would be mobile again in 5-6 days)

Weaknesses:

-All or Nothing: At his current stage of development, Galen cannot reliably control the amount of damage he takes from the person he is healing. Therefore, it is common for him to incapacitate himself by taking on more than he can handle. This is especially dangerous with wounds that do not appear to be as bad as they are, as he doesn't fully know how painful the transference will be until it happens, and the shock can have an effect on him.
-High Metabolism: Galen's regeneration may allow him to heal faster, but the accelerated healing still consumes the some amount of energy as the regular healing process would. This results in extreme fatigue and hunger if not properly tended to. In order to maintain a normal state of being, he must consume about twice the amount of food as a normal man.

(Although when I mentioned it in the interest check the GM did say there'd be a lot of those types of powers)

In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure we're good though. Their abilities are different enough that it shouldn't affect anything. His regeneration is only a secondary effect to his Sacrifice ability anyway, and it's nowhere near as good as Samson's. You cut off one of Galen's limbs, it's just gone.
