Marino Di Liberto

Business as usual would be a bit of a stretch the describe what The Condor was going through at the moment. That is to say, it had had no business whatsoever. No rouge aliens, no new planets, not even an escort mission. It was frustrating to many crew members. I can't say all because one crew member was rather happy about this stagnant period.

Captain Marino Di Liberto was not a typical captain. Mainly because he was tired of his job. He was very good at it when he put in the effort, but he honestly couldn't be bothered anymore. He hadn't always been this way, but he changed when he moved to The Condor. Work exhausted him, and he became almost jaded. So a lack of work was a blessing.

The Condor had stated on Earth for around a month now, but all that was about to change. Yesterday Marty had received a mission from the IOSE. Much to his annoyance. It was simple, some rouge Titchua aliens had raided a merchant ship, they had to get back the stolen goods. It was almost too simple, making Marty weary of what it could lead to.

Walking to the meeting room of The Condor, he shuffled his file nervously. If he had watched enough old sci-if films, like Star Trek (his favourite series ever), he knew that some complicated mission to save the universe was about to take place, with him at the helm.

Laying his file on the head of the table, he leaned into the microphone on the table, broadcasting his message into the rooms of all aboard the ship. "Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the ISS Condor. Its an ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Or at least come to the meeting room. Captain out!" He sat in a large chair, lacing his fingers, resting his head in his shoulder, giving the impression he was sleeping. It was only 6:30 in the morning.

Nexus entered rather solemnly, wandering around like a lost sheep, cataloging the ship and its rooms. Eventually it began to call the engineering deck — more specifically the ship hold — its home. In the months spent in dock, it opted to sit dormant and in a state of hibernation at one of the work tables. Should a crew member attempt to speak to it, the tried and true "playing dead" method worked quite well. Occasionally, it would be seen tinkering on the work table or itself, refusing to even communicate or reveal their work.

It had quartered off the ship-hold for its own purposes. With what little material it could bring onboard, it opted to bring a small droid which hovered above the work table and illuminated the area, making chirps and beeps around Nexus. A clear access-way to an elevated steel work bench allowed the eight foot tall robot to stand and work. Since it had arrived, it sat in almost recluse from the remaining crew members, not wishing to intrude on their business as of yet. An incredibly large machine was off-putting to say the least — if they wished to communicate, they would come to it.

It had argued with itself that this was the best course of action — stay out of sight until the Captain of the ship ordered all crew to the briefing room. How could it remain in the sidelines if it were to be thrust into the lime-light? With a smooth turn, the machine hulkingly maneuvered its way to the briefing room. It entered and stood motionless, just to the right of the entrance.

The blue optic shone curiously over the Captain, Marino. Plates contracting and extending in minute movements, twin radar antennae twitching slightly. Its arms rested in front of itself, hands of one set folded over each other, with the remaining set doing the same but only lower.

"Or, atleast, come to the meeting room. Captain out!"
The cyborg replayed the announcment mentally, and sighed. A star trek reference? Really? Had his captain fallen so low...
The cyborg Engineer, Aiden Garthar, released a grumble, the panal of his arm opened up, splayed and vulnerable, as he worked with the pieces inside. He would find himself cursing the one who made his body, briefly forgetting it was himself, for the most part. He needed to care for his form even more diligently, but personal maintanace was often the last thing on his mind.

Letting the limb close, and shift to align the pieces properly, he gave a groan. He couldnt help but feel his captains announcements often had some form of star trek reference...and since coming onto the condor, has watched the entire franchise...twice. currently going for a third. As maddening as it was, he couldnt help but be intruiged by they 20st century television show, even those after it, and mostlikely the captain had a similar opinion. He just hoped he wasnt comparing his crew to that of the old. He didnt not seem like the "captain piccard" in the show at all...

But, he was the captain, and he may not be a starfleet captain, but he was still a man Gar had yet to regret meeting. Leaning back in his seat, letting his other limbs adjust their intricacies, before pushing himself to a stand. Pressing the com on the wall he spoke" Aye, boss. Gar will be up shortly", and stepped out of his quarters, his cloak slipping over his shoulders. Many of the oher crew didng care to see the...bits and bobs of his body. Made them uncomfortable...

The ship was up to date. Managed to get in afew improvements during their stay. But unfortunantly there was only so much engineering could do before maintenance became gratuitous. The ship was practically brand new from the work they had been putting out. It it was becoming dull around the halls. Hell, he was actually doing maintenance on himself. Thats just too freaking slow. The fact that half the engineers dont require sleep made things go by fast. The droids( Gar's general term for the comeplete machines that aided about the ship) made the more tedious work go by easier, he had to admit that. But the bloody things didnt have a creative bolt in their chassis. One thing he felt he was blessed with. All the capabilities of a machine, and the creativity of a human...
Entering the meetig room, Gar quickly took a seat, propping his metal feet up on a nearby chair, hands folding behind his back and his almost malnutritioned chest in view as the lights of his helmet went our, simulating rest

Masha

The display on the treadmill: 7 kilometers, 235 meters.

Aww, I am not even half done! Masha thought taking off the pulse measuring band from her arm and shutting the running machine down. "Roger that" she said lazily into the microphone and took a sip of electrolyte-enhanced water. Sure she wouldn't be late if she but sat down for a minute or two to catch her breath? Of course not. That much she could do. Besides, she had the captain as her role model, and he didn't seem to be much enthusiastic about his job; and he had much greater responsibilities than deciphering scribbles, which is what she spent most of her days doing. Not that she didn't like her job, she in fact enjoyed it; but the fact was, the ship did not depend upon it. At least not at the moment.

She wiped the sweat off her forehead and breast, put the towel around her neck and sat down to change into her regular shoes at least, since she would have no time to shower or change. She wasn't sure if she actually preferred getting up so early now, or if she had her circadian rhythms messed up, but it felt relaxing and serene with no one around. That was one thing she was certain about: she was still shy around most of the crew, even after almost a whole month spent with them. We'll work on that. She would have to work on that indeed, if she were to be of use during the mission which was about to commence. Why else would he bother everyone at this hour?

She went down the well-lit corridors, very bright and sterile looking, almost as if she were in a doctor's office. But she felt refreshed there because of the cooling systems. The place reminded her of that movie the crew watched together recently, on old flick, what was it's name again? The Russian one? Ah, yes, Solaris! What a long bore! But I did like it. I wonder if something like that could exist. A living ocean, giving us illusions. Hopefully not. A few slide doors and a lift ride later, she was approaching the briefing room. She cleared her throat, corrected her hair as best as she could, fixed her posture, and went in.

"Good morning, captain," she said. "Gar, Nexus," she added and nodded to each of them, smiling. She contemplated sitting down but thought it better to remain standing for the moment for she didn't know where to sit: whether to take the chair beside one of the crew members or sit away from them. Moments such as those, ridiculous as they were, knew how to giver her troubles. So she remained standing, with an excuse ready, namely, that she had been in the middle of working out and didn't want to get too relaxed by sitting, because she planned on continuing once the meeting was over.

Wren

Morning Woes

Candied sounds of birdsong bled into the soft droning of the Condor as Lawrence woke from the spell of sleep and dreams, greeted only by the cool darkness of his room. An agitated groan escaped Wren, and he lazily hit a small button connected to his nightstand with the back of his hand.

Pale light bathed his bedroom, sending needles into Lawrence’s eyes. He sat up on his bed, feet on the floor. His black t-shirt and grey sweats knotted and twisted around his willowy frame—and as Wren straightened out his clothes, he noticed blotches of sweat on his chest and under his arms. He felt himself sigh. Nightmares were not a thing Wren recalled having as a teenager, but since his employment on the Condor nearly three years ago, they waxed and waned like moons. He had spoken to a psychologist about these nightmares on occasion—never with the ship's own medical crew; he would not risk the embarrassment—but their cajoling and encouraging suggestions never placated Wren's bad dreams. Even a change in diet failed him.

Wren guided himself to his socked feet, stretched, and shuffled sleepily out of his room, the vestiges of his nightmare still darting around his conscience.

The intercom rang down the sterile, bleached hallway almost merrily, it seemed to Lawrence. Di Liberto's familiar voice reporting all to the meeting room. Arms wrapped around his chest to ward off the biting cold of the ship, Wren moved about the circuitous corridors unhurriedly. The door to the meeting room opened with a soft sigh of air, and Wren stepped in.

Wren sat in the nearest chair, arms still crossed over his chest and bruised crescents under his chestnut eyes. His gaze drifted between the robot Nexus, Aiden, and Masha, before settling on Marino.

"Good morning you four," Wren chirped with a thin smile, tiredness lacing his voice.

Christian De Leon

Location: Halls of Condor --> Meeting room
Interacting with: @Erklings25 @Sigurd

Christian stretched his arms as he walked with a skip on his step. A week before, he had gotten permission from the Captain to exit the Condor to visit some of his friends back in the experimental orphanage. They were all in the same neighborhood so it wasn't hard to track them. He visited three days ago and he still can't get over how fun it was. They prepared him all these delicious food for him. He was pretty sure that they mixed in some poison berries in them for extra flavoring. He had long since gotten a complete immunity against it so he guessed that's why they didn't worry as much. He had even pestered Jessa about it over and over again because of his excitement.

Anyway, they were really good cooks and they had really good jobs too. They looked like they were enjoying themselves. It was all good and nothing could beat that day. He wasn't sad about leaving though - it had been the norm after all. They were sure that they would see each other the year after that. After all, how can they all miss the much awaited day of the year? The day when they were released from the grips of the orphanage. Of course, Christian had missed this sometimes because of his job but he always made sure that he would contact them.

The halls were mostly empty, he noticed, and then he checked the time. Oh? It was this early in the morning. He chuckled to himself. He didn't notice when he woke up. Oh well, oh well~ It only meant that he had a lot more time on his hands to spend loitering around. Admittedly though, he was getting bored. Sure, he managed to distract himself by thinking about his meeting with his 'family' but on the ship, he literally does nothing. After all, he was useful outside of the ship but they were currently docked on Earth so he didn't really need to go exploring. He began to whistle when the intercom buzzed to life.

Christian didn't get the reference but he did get the point - they were definitely leaving Earth for something. Pumping his hand up in excitement, he sped up towards the meeting room. Finally, something to do! He opened the door and then raised his hand up in a greeting, his whole body seeming to exude an aura of excitement and energy. "Good morning everyone!" He cheerily greeted the ones already inside. There was the robot engineer, Nexus; Gar, the cyborg engineer; Maria, a new girl who apparently majored in languages of aliens but she only was here for a month so he wasn't sure really; Wren, his fellow, and saner, explorer; and of course, the captain! His mouth showed a grin as he saw the state the captain was in. "Captain, you better not go and sleep on us when you called a meeting!" He teased before taking notice that Masha wasn't sitting down.

Cocking his head to the right, he bounded up to her before giving her a pat on the shoulder. "Come on Maria, don't be shy. Please, sit down." He said encouragingly as he gestured to one of the seats. He wasn't really aware of her nickname yet as he can't remember if she ever mentioned it around him. He wanted to at least make her feel welcomed and all because they were going to be working together for a long time. He also heard that she was a scientist so she would be seeing a lot of him, usually with poisonous flora which he is sometimes eating, in the later parts of the voyage. "You should loosen up. We don't really bite you know~" He never tried it at least. He knew he was going to get an earful from Vice-Captain Ryan if he did.

Smiling at her once more, he finally took a seat near the entrance with both of the chairs beside him empty.

Ramona Jessa Chalkley

Her eyes were closed. She felt so warm and comfortable. It was a beautiful feeling. She wanted to last in this moment for a while. All was well. A noise rang in her ears. She couldn't tell what it was. It gave her a strange feeling. For just a tiny fracture of a second she thought she could ignore it and stay in her beautiful bubble. But she needed to know what this was. Her hand reached out and the sound of running water was silenced, the other noise was way clearer now.

"...Or at least come to the meeting room. Captain out!"

It took Jessa not even a second to realize she was in a really bad position. Shit! Shit. Shit. The woman pushed the shower door open, grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her naked wet body as she stepped out of the shower. She moved over to her closet and threw out some clothes randomly. No time to check up on what to wear. She rubbed the towel over her skin to dry it quickly and then tried to get her soaking wet hair somewhat dryer by rubbing the towel over it. It didn't work. Fuck. She continued to move the towel over her hair as she moved to the bathroom. She grabbed a hairdryer, slammed the plug into the socket and turned it on.

A bang and a shit ass smell was the consequences of her actions. "Oh come on!" Jessa threw the broken hairdryer onto the top of a small bathroom drawers and picked up the towel to run it over her wet hair once more. Her hair looked messy and... well still wet.

She grabbed a brush and forcefully ran it through her hair. Now it looked a tad bit less messy, but wet and weird. Her expression in the mirror was the one of horror. She moved to her bedroom and threw on whatever she had randomly picked out of her closet. A white pair of bras, not the good one, this one would make her tits bounce like balls if she walked too fast. A white slip, rather sexy, but who gave a shit, no one would see. White socks. Simple jeans. A white, sleeveless top. She grabbed her sneakers and put them on, put the belt and the blouse she had yet to put on over her arm and rushed out of the door. While walking she put the blouse over her white simple sleeveless top and realized... the top had a deep cut-out and was showing the upper half of her boobs. Not important, the blouse will fucking do. But when her arms were in the sleeves of the very light-coral blouse, she noticed that it was the one she had wanted to throw in the trash. Because all of the buttons were missing. She had taken the buttons off to fix a better piece of clothing with them. Why didn't she trash it immediately? She quickly pulled the belt around her pants and closed it up.

Now she would be walking into the meeting, in front of all colleagues and her boss, with wet hair, no make-up, a deeply cut-out top and a broken blouse in a stupid color. She felt so responsible and professional right now.

While she hurried to the meeting, her breasts bouncing uncontrollably, she tried to fix up her hair a little. But combing her fingers through it only made her hands wet. The hair kept sticking to her face and dropping water drops onto her shoulders and back. This was a disaster. By the time she entered the room five other colleagues were already there, plus the boss of course. She hoped that the meeting didn't require her holding any piece of paper. Her hands were super wet from touching her hair and she couldn't dry them on her clothes because it would leave wet signs all over it. She felt like an embarrassment. The captain will probably ask her to stay after the meeting and if she was lucky he would give her a warning, if she wasn't lucky he would probably fire her for being unprofessional.

She shot all of the people an apologetic smile and greeted her boss by name. "Mr Di Liberto, Sir." Then she sat down on the left chair next to Christian, leaving a free spot to sit to her own left, and fought the arising need to hide her face behind her hands. Disaster.

Masha

@Polaris North@Fathomless

"Well, even if you did bite, I'm afraid I wouldn't be much of a treat at the moment! Thank you. And just Masha is fine," she said, smiled back, and seated herself next to the friendly station explorer, finding the chair surprisingly cold against her warmed up body. "And good morning to you, too, Wren," she added. Another explorer joins the meeting, she thought looking at him, and another one hating the captain's timing right now, too, judging from his eyes and the bags under them. Hopefully it wasn't the nightmares that kept him awake. "A wild night, huh?" she asked him teasingly, making an eye movement that was somehow supposed to point at his eyes.

Suddenly an erratic figure entered the room. "Oh, good morning..." to you, she said, thought, seeing Ramona enter bringing with her a great reason for Masha to be conscious of her own body, especially the thoracic part; but the best course of action would be to act is if nothing was out of the ordinary. Well, I suppose we'll all be abreast in the mission to come.

She smiled to herself and wiped her face with her towel lest she appear nastier than necessary. She found herself thinking how this would be a nice moment to actually get to know some of them better, seeing how almost everyone looked disordered in some way or another, and the kinds of stories that follow from that are usually good conversation starters and pretty much anyone can add something to the discussion. However, it seemed that they'd all be doing more listening than talking, because the boss was about to be the mouthpiece for the IOSE guys. She had a friend in the offices, but she never really knew what she did. It all seemed the same to her when such jobs are in question. As for her Job? Well, as this was her first job ever, Masha thought herself lucky to be in orbit at such a young age; but who knows, maybe the captain's announcement will change her opinion on her situation.

Marino Di Liberto

Marty remained in his sleeping position as Nexus and Gar entered. As he heard loud metal clangs against the table, his eyes fluttered open slightly. He waved two fingers at them dismissively. He didn't really fit the picture of a captain of a ship. He was worn out, and clearly nodding back to sleep. His stature wasn't what one would call formidable. He was told he had to wear suits to work by his old boss when he got the promotion, so he would look smart. He didn't look particularly smart now, with his collar and tie undone, half of his collar tucked into his jacket, and half his shirt tail hanging out. He looked less like a serious military man and more of a drug addict at a formal gathering.

He heard two other crew members greeting him, Masha and Wren. He knew Masha was a new recruit. They had met before, as he had to show up at her graduation from the Academy. Truly, it was a dreary occasion. He had to shake her hand and smile cordially, like a respectable Captain. Truly, the sight of him now would be a shock to the system. Wren had been with him for three years and was probably accustomed to this sight. Wren was quite like Marty when he first joined The Condor, and Marty was eagerly awaiting the day when he became a cynical wreck like he had.

It was only as Christian greeted him that he shot up in his chair. "Shut up De Leon! It's 6:35 and I'm exhausted. Do you know what time I got to bed? 5:00! In the morning!" If anyone had been walking the hall of The Condor, they may have realised his late bedtime may have been something to do with the attractive young woman escaping the ship at dawn. He had been told he wasn't allowed to smuggle women on, but that didn't stop him. He still looked groggy, his expression changed to one of shell shock when Ramona hurriedly entered the room. He shuffled over to her, saying in a low tone "Stay after this meeting. Oh, and nice shirt." He winked before returning to his chair.

He tried to retain the appearance of nearly sleeping, but it was slightly obvious he was ogling Ramona, smiling a little.

Nexus watched the strange myriad of people enter the meeting room. It was common to be slightly disorganized on non-military frigates but this was something entirely different. A woman still wet from the shower in ragged, promiscuous clothing, a man who appeared to be - but was not - on drugs, a dog-like cyborg.. Whatever it was, a jealous competitive fitness nut and a black man who just wanted some sleep.

All congregating around the sleepy Captain who had been previously spreading his seed across an unknown woman; yes, the machine did know. It knew of every power fluctuation through the ship. Doors opening, automatic lights turning on, refrigerator door opening. This was a way of knowing the ins and outs of the Condor, as well as if certain areas needed repairs or were faulty. This also acted as a sort of surveillance of the crew, as it could guess where certain members were based on their power consumption and door usage.

The sight of the poor, unprepared woman. Anyone looking would see the machine unabashedly beaming the royal blue light of its optic in her direction. Trying to be subtle - as subtle as a two tonne eight foot tall machine could be - it slowly meandered behind the woman in white, plates in its chest moving outwards and sliding away to reveal eight ports, four to each side. Its facial plates were set rigid against its head, a rather stern look of a business conduct almost. The machine crooned forwards, holdings both sets of its own arms and almost surrounding her in metal and elastomer. The hands pivoted inwards on the joint of its wrist to carefully take hold of the ruined shirt and clip the top portion together with two simple fridge magnets on either side. It was an incredibly simple and gaudy fix, but it would do for the moment.

"Remain still, close proximity to exhaust vents incite possibility of burns." Nexus stated calmly in a quieter volume, loud whoosh of air sounding as the two vents on either side began blowing rather hot air. The sheer volume was rather impressive, and the room was immediately raised more than a couple degrees. However, her hair, clothes, hands and all around everything was dry. It had only taken a handful of seconds to do. After the machine had finished, it straightened and resealed the ports behind plating. It attempted to return to its position beside the door, but caught an askew chair and bashed it into the table with a loud bang.

The plates of the machines head shot outwards in surprise and apology, hands moving the chair where it was supposed to be originally before retaking its place beside the door. Rather than intrude in the meeting further, the machine dimmed the optical light and clasped both sets of its hands, solemnly stating it would not interfere further.

The lights of Gar's mask came on in a gentle glow, his head shifting to look about the room. Almost half the crew was here. Hopefully we could get this underway soon
The captain was crabby. Probably going t be a long day... and he wasnt the only one who seemed abit deprived. Lack of sleep was obvious in some...

"Wasnt quiet ready for the day, huh, Ramona?" Came his filtered voice, as if he was speaking through an old radio. "Surprised anyone is tired. We've been so lax as of late, everyone should be in perfect condition..." the statement was just a general one, not meant to be directed at anyone particular.

The machine...Nexus...moved over and proceeded to aid Ramona in looking abit more presentable. This actually earned abit of irritation from the cyborg, though he didnt voice it. Only signalled by the tightening of one usually relaxed fist.
When said machine clumsily knocked over a chair and nearly crippled the meeting table, an electronic snort escaped the engineer

"Nice one, droid. Thought you were supposed to be coordinated. Not tripping over your own feet."
To say Gar was pleased with having the machine on board the ship was far from the truth. He didnt care to have it working so indipendently. His fellow engineers used machines all the time to help in labor, but this...this just irked him.

"Need to run a scan on your gyroscopic and moter coordination systems. Dont need you putting a hole in the hull. Hell, go get checked in the docking bay. Im sure we can...do something about it. maybe take the legs off completly. Put you on a set of wheels..."
The lights died out again as Gar's head fell back, seeming to relax again.

Christian De Leon

Location: Halls of Condor --> Meeting room
Interacting with: @Erklings25 @Sigurd @KahleenCuthald @Dr Catfish

"Masha it is then." Christian quickly proclaimed. He wasn't the kind of person who would use full names and always found a nickname for everyone. He just never did it to the Captain, the Vice-Captain and their head of security. The latter two were mostly because they acted all professional and stuff and they didn't appreciate such informality... or something like that. It would seem that Masha would fit in quite well. Then again, it would be a wonder if you didn't fit in with a group that was so different from the very beginning. They each had something odd about them and you could find someone similar easily in the group.

He then grinned at the captain, seemingly unaffected by his scolding. "I don't know Captain. Maybe you should sleep earlier instead of busying yourself with other things you know?" Everyone knew that Christian always woke up on an ungodly hour of the morning, usually to jog around the halls instead of using their gym equipment. This was especially true when they were docked. He wasn't exactly sure what the captain had been doing but he did see him doing something at the morning. He thought that the captain had a good night's rest and was using rising up early to start the day. Apparently, that wasn't the case. This informality and teasing with the captain wasn't anything new. Back when they were still new, he didn't have the position of the captain and even after that, he usually didn't stop him from doing what he wanted. It's why he liked him as the captain.

The door opened and he twisted his body to look at the newcomer. "Pfft..." He tried to contain his laughing, looking away from her but he was noticeably shaking. Of all the things that Jessa had to look like in meetings, she decided to look like that. He was aware that the captain had approached her to tell her something before returning to his seat - something about talking to her after the meeting? Christian took more than a moment to compose himself but he was mentally preparing himself to look at her again. He was pretty sure that his partner wouldn't appreciate him laughing in front of her face. Taking a deep breath, he finally looked at her. Yep, still wet, still wearing revealing clothing and still embarrassed - he could tell that much. "What a way to start the day for you huh Jessa? Don't have any clean clothes? Wanna borrow mine?" He offered to the girl. He at least had the decency to do that. Much unlike most males, he held no special interest to Jessa's appearance.

Then, Nexus the robot had walked towards Jessa and began to fix her up. He watched in unrestrained awe as he managed to fix her up. She still didn't look professional enough for the meeting but she at least looked better. She was dry too. A bigger smile came onto his face as he turned to the four armed robot who bumped into one of the chairs and seemed to have been surprised by that. He hadn't really met a sentient robot like him - one that actually showed emotion, even for a little while. The robots onboard the Condor before him were programmed to do a single thing and were supervised by engineers - he heard Nexus was different. "Thanks for that Nex!" He beamed. However, Gar seemed to be irritated with the robot. Christian turned to him with a curious look before shrugging. Probably something the engineer knew more about than him and that's why he couldn't understand the irritation. He looked back at Jessa, "Well, at least you look better." He said, giving her a light punch to the shoulder before looking back at the captain, fighting the urge to rest his feet at the table or even raise it to his chair, now opting to simply repeatedly tap his foot on the ground which was actually quiet enough so no one would hear.

The machine suddenly shot the Cyborg Dog a glare of contempt, optic turning online again and beaming uncomfortably into the back of that steel can it called a head. The rear ends of the movable plates on Nexus' head shot outwards, flaring like it was quite upset with the comment. However, it reckoned the Cyborg Dog would soon regret his comment. The machine doubted he, Garthar, would even match up physically or mentally, but a verbally scalding retort would serve him well.

"Currently, we are in the midst of computation of theoretical designs and ship modifications to increase efficiency and power distribution. This requires a majority of our cores to operate seamless simulations in tandem. The core in operation of the legs has been re-purposed for its mistake. We are still at work while waiting for the meeting to commence, what do you provide?" It certified, obviously grated from the comment. It decided to hold its voice from further interaction. It did however have quite a quip about those metal limbs of Garthar's, that is for sure.

The machine unclasped its hands, rotating all four wrist joints and splaying its fingers. Its hands clenched to fists, then relaxed and re-clasped. Rather than dim the light on its optic, it simply enhanced it upon Garthar's head as if it were trying to bore a hole through the steel. It would actually be noticeably warm to human flesh but unlikely to affect steel. The Cyborg Dog seemed to hold a grudge against AI. Whether that was from past experiences or general distaste, it would have to be complacent. If it weren't, Nexus could always hold him aloft with two arms and continue work with the remaining set. If he were to prove even mildly troublesome — or meddle with Qubit — the parts would fly.

Open dossier folder, create sub-folder; "Garthar->Responses", create log. Extract audio snippet... Complete. Flag folder under watch-list for constant monitoring of change. Assign Core 64 continuous information sorting.

The machine turned its attention suddenly to Christian after he had finished speaking, optic dimming so it wouldn't blind him. It had something to say about being called 'Nex', but it had already said more than enough for the time being. Rather than chew straws, it decided to accept the gratification, front plates lifting outwards slightly while the back remained flat. This was the assumed man on drugs. However it was unlikely to be the case. His heart rate was average if not slightly above. Synapses were firing perfectly fine, pupils not dilated. Where did this spring of endless joy derive? It was an incredibly rare sight to see someone more than barely living anymore, further interaction with this man was absolutely necessary. Was it simply pure happiness, or was it a flimsy cover veiled across the darkest secret of depression? Only experimentation would reveal results.

There were small upsides, though even the victories came with unfortunate consequences such as this alien concept of sleep. Luci stood at the window of her room, looking out over the dry dock with hands professionally laced behind their back. Four wires ran from their shoulder blades and upper arms, linked to the ship's coils and subsequently the dock. By Nexus' method of monitoring the crew, it would be eerily apparent that they hadn't left their quarters for a few days...let alone move much more than a few feet every couple hours.
Legs that never felt fatigue holding up a light frame constantly feeding from the power plants of the world, unblinking eyes patiently observing their reflection. Clothes laid scattered across the neatly made bed, left waiting for their opportunity to properly address their owner who tilted their head in response to the call coming in from their captain to assemble in the meeting room. Softly, the voice of the reference character 'Picard' played behind Marty's in Luci's head. It was sadly wanting of the passive charisma that the rehearsed lines from the old show's protagonist, though the sentiment was still there.

'Smile more...they like that kind of thing.' Lucile thought to themselves before their blank expression contorted into a manic grin. Their hollow eyes lowered, 'Okay...uhh...dial it back sixty-percent. Fucking freak' their thoughts continued, hating how much effort went into such a simple thing as expression. The change still felt canned and disingenuous, which it very much was, but it was still better than walking around looking like a piece of furniture or doll, right?
Luci obviously didn't think so, letting their face rest back to cold neutrality save for a brief frown.
The practice had hardly been worth it, since it mostly felt like swapping between masks. All the standing and staring had been worth was keeping tabs on the dock as well as the mysterious attractive young woman's comings and goings, so to speak. Suspecting they were likely a representative of some crewmen scouting agency there to speak with Marty about drone parts or other such equipment, Luci thought little of it.

For the time being, they waited long enough for it not to seem creepy that they were already up and ready to go to the meeting. Well, more or less. Simply showing up in black and white lacy undergarments would hardly be appropriate and was quickly remedied with the usual cleavage-cutout black turtleneck, small red skirt and black thighhighs.
A quick addition of garters and mismatched converse and Luci was on their way, curious of the trail of water drops leading in the same direction.
With a blink, they powered up auxiliary functions like their HUD in the interest of the clock, having lost track of time while doing essentially nothing for days. The message and replay sat adorably in the corner as if there was a way someone could have missed it. Certain they knew its contents, on that note, Luci deleted it and gave themselves one last look over to make sure everything was in order before letting themselves in. This carried over as the door slid open, Luci pulling up the cutout to properly cover a bit of snow white lace as they quickly scanned the room. The detail of the shell's artificial anatomy left her with a few questions regarding the necessity of certain...features, but it was just more to get used to.

Captain looking half dead and grouchily yelling at Christian for being his usually jolly goofball self, in all likelihood was only the start of 'the usual'. In all honesty, it took Luci a moment for the HUD to highlight and name the crew off since they were still awful with names even after two years. The only ones that stood out were Nexus which was impossible to mistake as anyone else, the same going for 'Garbo' since it was hard not forget a mug like that.
Making their way around the table, Luci caught on just how 'morning people' the crew was not by how Nexus was putting Aya back together in a way that hinted to where the water in the hall had come from. Exhaustion stained the organics' eyes, though Luci was envious in a small way since it'd felt like forever since enjoying a snuggly wrap of blankets.

Lucile offered the captain a salute, stopping by the door to do so in introduction before wandering around the table to find a seat. "Captain Di Liberto...ehn goooood morning, ehverybody~" she chirped in spite of their cold neutral expression which bent ever so slightly with the 1% of a smile, hoping it was an acceptable degree. "Stellar, as always" Luci joked, taking a seat next to Jessa and crossing a leg around the other. They sat stiffly for a moment before leaning forward to rest their elbows on the table and chin on folded fingers.

Doctor Wolfe

The rhythmic sound of a heart rate monitor pierced through the otherwise near-silent operating room. While a bit cramped, the room served it’s purpose well and was both well stocked and filled with decent quality gear. In the absolutely pristine room-- Doctor Wolfe accepted no less that perfection when it came to cleaning her workspace- the two occupants spoke in hushed voices. Not out of secrecy, but out of respect for the ones who still slept.

“Es kann losgehen, Avalon.” [Let’s get started, Avalon.]

“Ja Doktor, wie du willst.” [Yes Doctor, as you wish.]

A soft male voice emanated from the room as a trio of robotic surgical arms-- the only true physical body that was controlled by the AI Avalon- descended over top of the operating table. On the table a young woman, Doctor Wolfe herself, lay with her arms splayed to the side. Her stomach, left uncovered by the blanket that otherwise covered the woman’s entire body, had been anesthetized and prepared for surgery. Avalon grabbed a scalpel from the tray with his precise artificial hands and lined up the tool with the doctor’s torso. As he prepared to make the first incision, a loud voice rang out over the intercom.

“......Or at least come to the meeting room. Captain out.”

“Gottverdammt.” [God damn it.]

The doctor cursed out loud before waving off her assistant with her prosthetic arm.

“Operation abbrechen, Avalon.” [Cancel the operation, Avalon.]

“Ja Doktor.”

Amy sat up from the operating table and pulled the blanket off gently, tossing it in the biohazard waste bin before moving to her connected personal quarters. Inside, she removed her medical scrubs and tossed them aside before changing into something more reserved. From her rather small assortment of clothing, she chose a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of blue jeans. Amy slid on a black pair of hiking boots before exiting her quarters, making her way towards the meeting room.

“Docter Vulfe, present und accounted for, Kapitän.”

She took a place against the wall close to the back of the room, leaning against it gently. Glancing around the room, Amy took in the various people and….non biological constructs that were the crew of the Condor. She tapped her foot on the ground impatiently, watching the captain with a nervous look to her, glancing downwards every few moments.

Ramona Jessa Chalkley

To Jessa's big displeasure her embarrassing moments weren't over yet. She had not payed any attention towards the captain eyeing her, because a huge robotic figure, a hell of a machine, went to approach the woman slowly. She felt her heart stop for a beat, a tiny bit terrified that the colossus would accidentally hurt her. Her eyes were fixed on Nexus, trying to tell what was going on, what they wanted. Maybe they would read the standard rules about physical appearance at a work place to her? But when the big machine actually reached out to clasp her blouse together with two magnets, she felt even more terrified. She really didn't feel like being touched by such a huge machine without her consent. Her heart felt like it had given up on ever beating again, but of course that wasn't the case. The robot thing finished and she prayed it would back off before she would drop into a state of panic. But no, it wasn't finished. Somehow it managed to dry her hair and her hands and her body and the water drops on her clothes. She didn't breathe.

As the colossus left again, not so smoothly, she felt relieved, still tense and terrified. Not because of it's height so much, but rather because it went near her, touched her basically, without consent. A big ass machine had just reached out towards her breasts and closed up her private upper area with magnets... to then blow dry her body. Can I call that sexual assault? From a machine? She felt a little violated in her personal space.

The snarky comment of her friend didn't really help. She gave his leg a nice hard kick under the chairs and didn't respond to his mocking. In a more private place she would have said something like 'shut up' or 'fuck you' or 'continue dreaming'. But not here. Not with everyone around. No with the eyes of the boss being laid upon her.

The chit chat around the room continued and Jessa was overly glad that no one mentioned or brought up the incident any further. She felt like maybe things had cleared a little. Of course she still had the private talk with the captain in front of her.

Two more people entered the room. One that she knew, a friend of hers, Luci. They sat beside her but Jessa couldn't bother to pay them any attention right now. For there was a new face, someone she hadn't seen yet, she was sure of it. She would have remembered that woman. Something about her gave her a feeling of... comfort. A strange feeling of comfort, one that she had known before but buried deep inside her heart. She couldn't tell what it was but a slight headache formed within her mind. Not now. Please not now. She pushed the headache to the back of her mind, but it wasn't going anywhere. Luckily it wasn't growing either. A feeling of huge loss poked her soul but was gone quickly again. Her hand reached for her head and massaged the forehead softly, she closed her eyes and tried to relax in her chair.

Ryan Rolands' mind was buzzing with work.

Files splayed across his desk like leaves in Autumn. Physical, paper-made files, that is. An old-fashioned anachronism in this time of computers. Even Rolands couldn't explain what drove him to keep printing out information that could all be kept on his P.D.A. device. A more sentimental man would call it akin to ritual. Ryan was a tactile thinker. When he could feel the papers in his hands and smell that hard-to-explain scent of ink, he swore his brain moved faster.

But, this time, he had already memorized all the information they could give him. Ryan was working mentally now, in deep thought. Everything was sliding together like puzzle pieces. He was suddenly realizing how to organize each individual work shift, how to account for the alien and robotic crewmates, how to integrate the new arrivals, and how t-

Captain Liberto's voice blared through the speakers and into Second-in-Command Rolands' ears. His trance broke. His perfect plan was lost. Ryan's clenched fist collided with the tabletop. How did the Captain always manage to choose the worst times? Was it intentional- is he psychic?

But that wasn't fair, and Ryan knew it. He had been aware since yesterday that the meeting would be called. A stressed sigh and three deep breaths later, he had calmed his voice enough to call back through the intercom: "Second-in-Command Ryan Rolands will report for duty shortly."

It proved to be a mistake to take the time to straighten his ash-gray suit, and re-do that painfully tight ponytail he wore. He was almost late, which was as unforgivable as if he were. Ryan Rolands had never missed a meeting, never arrived last, and never failed to be completely prepared- and he never intended on starting those sloppy habits.

Coming into the room, walking briskly, a mental note was made of every figure already present. In his hands was the secret weapon: those same three thick stacks of pearly white paper, detailing all the official information the Captain had given him on each crew member. Ryan carried this little dossier around with himself religiously.

In fact, it only because he had so carefully studied her records that Ryan recognized the sight of Ms. Maria. She was still wallowing in exercise clothes. All-together disappointing. His expression was empty, but his stare was judgmental and unforgiving. He used a golden ink-pen to scrawl a little note on her file.

Then he honed in on one of the more senior members. Ms. Chalkley was looking nervous and dressed like she thought she was on vacation. He had to fight off the growing need to scowl at something. He must keep himself professional. It wasn't as if poor Ryan could do anything; the Captain had probably already given her some special permission slip. But he should not be too hard on her- Maria was still much worse.

Yet at the very least, Ms. Maria was sitting: half of the present crew apparently felt the need to stand vacantly, like lumbering statues taking up space. Ryan knew enough chairs were laid out for each of them. He had gone over the room every time a new person joined their crew, twice, cautiously placing the exact number of chairs needed. But some still stood.

"Excuse me," Mr. Rolands' voice was polite but firm, "I know there are enough places. We're about to begin a meeting. Would everyone still standing please take a seat? Mechanical lifeforms included." He slowly looked up and down the imposing sight of Nexus. "The chairs are reinforced steel. They can hold your weight, I promise."

The only bright spot to this meeting? Both cybernetic engineers had arrived quickly. He did always believe that mechanical employees were more efficient. It was almost enough to make him smile.

The Second-in-Command himself then took a chair, opposite the Captain. "Good morning, Sir," he said with a neat nod and a friendlier tone, "I apologize for my delay. I can explain after the meeting."

Marino Di Liberto

Marty was taken by surprise as gusts of warm wind filled the room, blowing his hair back slightly. He looked almost better than before. He laughed at the ruined state of his colleagues. His laugh was counteracted with a silent groan as Nexus applied fridge magnets to Ramona's blouse. He screwed his eyes shut before anyone would notice him. Truly, it was a disappointment. After ousting after Ramona for years, that is. Somehow, when he was preparing to tell her how he felt he always ended up chickening out, leaving his feelings ambiguous.

He opened his eyes at the familiar sound of Luci's voice, giving a dorky salute. At the entrance of the new doctor on the ship, he sat up again, debating the idea of announcing who she was to those who didn't know her. It would probably take too much time. He could always incorporate it into his meeting speech. He was about to slump back into his seat when Mr Rolands came striding in. Marty chuckled at his request for everyone to sit down.

"You took your sweet time getting here, Ryan. No need to explain, nobody died." He shot Rolands a half smile before rising out of his chair, flicking out the lights and setting up a holo-projector. Sure, not everybody was there, but he had been waiting long enough, and he had their mission written on a slideshow that was beaming onto the back of the room. "Ladies, gentlemen and Luci. It is time we begin our meeting. Please, be seated. There have been recent reports of a group of rouge Titchua raiding IOSE ships."

"Seems normal enough, right? Wrong! Apparently they're holding some imposrtant dignitaries hostage. They were transporting something rather important that the Admiral didn't tell me about. The dick. So, we're flying off to the Dragontooth Nebula, and looking for a ship. I'll expect everyone to be on full alert. Of course, this mission is dangerous, but now we have our new doctor, Miss Wolfe, it should be a bit less dangerous."
He pointed vaugely at Wolfe, shooting her a killer smile, before turning back to his precious slide show. "Welcome to the fold, carissimo." He had an odd tendency to refer to people with overly affectionate nicknames. "Don't really think you need to know more than that. Any questions?" He sat down in his chair, vaguely scanning the room. No doubt Rolands would contribute some information that was totally irrelevant, like 'They're located in the upper sector of the Nebula'. Heaven knows why the Admiral thought he was useful.

Nexus proceeded to watch carefully as a handful of other life forms entered the rapidly-becoming crowded meeting room. It followed the trickling 'pulse' of power in one, much more peculiar than the other robotic-based lifeforms. Was it an android? Was it autonomous? Did it prefer she, it, or they? Much attention would be required to unlock the secrets of their mystique. They drew quite an interest from the machine, obvious in the way Nexus constantly flickered its royal blue optic over their figure, like it was trying to peer into the lower level, beneath the synthetic flesh to see its inner workings. It did this completely unashamed, until its trance was broken by the entrance of another peculiar man. This man was the theoretical 'stick-in-the-ass' lieutenant type. Ironic, as he fit the stereotype perfectly. The machine followed his entrance, watching him with intrigue.

Even though he was high in command, he didn't greet a single member personally, preferring to address everyone with a dull collective acknowledgement. It was the way either fresh, young, high-ranking officials preferred to conduct themselves. They had something to prove, and felt it a statement to their place. If it wasn't that; it was the older type. One who was desperately trying to hold onto their place and was attempting to further prove their right to hold their rank. The machine took it as an insult. The chain of command should hold the strictest members at the top but this Captain was completely lax. Why should the second in command be similar in force to Mussolini?

The machine blank-stared the miniature man. Reinforced steel? While the machine hated ridiculous orders, it would simply prove to humiliate the captain for tasking the illogical. With much more delicacy than when it moved to dry Ramona, it positioned a chair and prepared to sit. Very gently did the machine settle into the steel chair below, slowly pushing more and more weight into the seat creating rather loud stress-creaks as the chair bent more and more. It was about three quarters of relieving the weight from its legs before the chair snapped its welding and crumpled into the ground, taking the machine to the floor with it. The landing was softened by the cushioned chair seat, meaning Nexus did not leave a dent in the floor. When the action was completed, it slowly panned its head to face Rolands, illuminating his face with a rather bright, rather annoyed royal blue.

"Directive accomplished, maximum ridiculousness achieved. Are we to await further illogical directives or shall we proceed individually?" It stated. Nexus had already been insulted once today, further interaction was forcing it to grow tired and irate. Every core despised being ordered around. What was so wrong with the machine standing solemnly in the back of the room? This was the type of man who would order an alien to eat human-food because it was natural to them. Synthetics did not require such frivolity, why was he forcing them upon Nexus?

As fast as it had moved in to prepare sitting, it launched itself up, re-positioning itself at the back of the room, dimming its light to allow all those within to room to view the slide show. As the Captain finished the sitrep rather quickly, which it was thankful for, the machine stepped forwards with a little click of the foot.

"Previous statement alludes living VIP's aboard target ship. This prevents utilization of heavy armaments, correct? We reason, a subterfuge based attack would be much more profitable than assault. With provided scrap, ability to recreate a stealth-based visual light influx field generator becomes a possibility." It offered, wishing to lay out the way of attack before it needed to be hastily slapped together.

"..." the machine's retort was only answered by garthar's silence, before he gave a grumble, one hand shifting and adjusting as he let his feet fall to the ground. Damned droid..."im making sure machines like yourself can react appropriately to fellow crewmen. So far, so good. Just dont short out your sensors." He waved the machine off. Not the best come back...but one he felt would suffice.

As more of the crew arrived, he waved to greet them. One that he took great care in greeting was the only true android on the ship. His view shifted to the feminine machine immidiatly, giving a nod."Lucile. Kept yourself busy through the night, i hope. Can get terribly boring when most of the ship sleeps."
His voice carried a joyful tone. Much different from when he spoke with nexus...

His attention fell on the second in command, and a grumble escaped him. "Roland. I dont mean to give you flak so earily, but must you carry those files with you. Dont we have somewhere secure, i dont know, like a computer to keep those?" The idea of his information floating around the shop made Gar uncomfortable. But he wouldnt say much more...

And finally everyone was here, and the captain started the debriefing. A hostage rescue and investigation...possible combat..." Boss. Permission to began shifting a portion of the generators overall power to a secondary location. If we begin storing now, we should have a sizable pool of energy to pull from if we must engage in combat, while leaving the main generator for movement and defence" he had wanted to impliment this strategy for a time. The only draw back was a slightly longer travel time..." i have a storage location already set aside, and ready for the ok"
