Personality
There is likely no one else on the planet as apathetic and bored as Ester. Due to her vast amount of worldly experience she is rarely ever moved by anything. This makes her come across as emotionless. However, her sarcastic attitude and condescending tone quickly dispel that first impression. She is incredibly intelligent, and has no desire to be humble about it. She lost patience for the less educated a long time ago and can hardly bear to even speak with them.
She once had a proper sense of morals, but over the years it slowly rotted away as life bore down on her. She won't go out of her way to kill people, but she has no issue murdering someone if it is in her best interest and won't cause a nuisance. She feels little for the plight of humans, in her eyes their lives are fleeting and only worth as much as they give.
The only thing that truly excites Ester is the unknown. She wants to experience things she's never seen before, create things that have never been made and learn as much about the universe as possible.
Biography
Ester was born into a small coven of vampires. In her early years she traveled with her family from place to place. They avoided feeding on humans if possible, making due with farm animals and the like. But drinking nothing but animal blood was like a human eating nothing but unsalted crackers. Around the age of fourteen she bit her first human victim. It was an older man that attempted to court her at a bar. He was drunk, and was hardly "subtle" about it. She could have easily gotten away from him using her natural strength, but this was the perfect excuse for her, this man wasn't an upstanding citizen anyway, right? At first she planned to only take a bit of the man's blood, at the most he'd turn into a minor vampire. But the taste of human blood had overwhelmed her senses and she ended up draining the man dry.
She dumped his body in a ditch where he was discovered the following day. The response to the man's death was more severe than she thought it would be. The drunkard turned out to be the assistant to a thane, and he wanted the killer's head on a pike. Needless to say Ester and her family had to leave the city. Since that day she learned to control her impulsive desires and came to understand the place her kind held in society. She didn't understand why they had to live in fear of humans, they were superior in every way weren't they?
Apparently this sentiment was not hers alone, and a few decades later her coven joined with other vampires around the world. Their goal was simple, wrest control of the world away from humans and become the status quo. The war did not go well, The vampires underestimated the tenacity of humans, as well as their sheer numbers advantage. The vampires were nearly exterminated. Her parents were captured and she was forced to watch as they were executed, impaled through the gut and left to burn to death from the sun's infernal rays of light. Since then she's experienced nearly everything life has to offer.
She tried passing as a human for a while, attending universities and going on expeditions. However she couldn't hide under a cloak forever, and her unchanging face was more than suspicious. So she began to travel the world alone, learning all that she could of the world and it's mysteries. She eventually met a human in her travels and fell in love. She had a hatred for humans, but this man was a lone traveler like her, and much different from usual humans she'd met. He was raised as a brigand and had murdered his fair share of people. Things would have continued that way but his tribe was wiped out by a company of knights. Over the years he came to regret his past actions and exiled himself from society. He hadn't lived long compared to her, but his upbringing reminded her much of her own past and they shared a bond as ostracized beings.
It was inevitable, and she knew it would happen from the start, but her lover aged before her eyes over the years. On more than one occasion she offered to turn him into a vampire, but he always refused. He claimed he had a stubborn pride as a human that she could never understand. Ester was stubborn in her own way, and decided to bite him in his sleep.
But her lover was ready, he knew her well enough to assume she would eventually try to turn him against his will. He was well into his fifties, however he was also an experienced warrior and not someone she could easily overpower while holding back. As the fight prolonged Ester grew more and more inpatient and he grew ever the more tired. Eventually his exhaustion and her recklessness resulted in her inflicting a mortal wound onto him. Panicking, she bit his neck, attempting to turn him before he died. She made sure not to take much blood, only enough to start the change. But it was too late, he'd lost too much blood already. Tears in her eyes, she pleaded with him to tell her why he refused to live with her forever. Ester has long forgotten her first love's name, but his final words could never be forgotten. He died shortly after in spite of Ester's futile attempts to treat his wound.
Her purpose in life gone she mindlessly traveled until she ran out of places to go. She decided to live on her own in a thick forest researching magic. Rumors of a witch living in dangerous woods eventually spread to a nearby town, and on a rainy day someone knocked on her door. It was the queen desperate for help. The king had fallen ill, and she had run out of options. Ester frankly didn't care about whether or not the king died, but she did see a tempting opportunity. She needed equipment, which costs gold, of which she had little. In exchange for curing the king she was given access to the royal library and provided with whatever equipment she desired. She worked for the crown for a time, serving multiple generations of the royal line. As long as they helped her research she was fine with assisting them.
Ester made strides in science and magic for the industrial city of Isenburhg, though her motives were purely self satisfying. After lamenting the long travel time to get from Isenburhg to the imperial city, she thought of an idea for a locomotive. She spent years leading a team of engineers before creating the steam engine, which opened the floodgates for all manner of machinery to be created. After a few more years of refinement and testing she was able to create the world's first steam powered train.
Fifty years ago, when Camelot fell and the world when to hell, Ester was put into an awkward position. The world was certainly more interesting now, but at the same time things were far too chaotic for her to effectively work. She tried living on her own, but her forest home was a living nightmare filled with monsters, and she hardly felt like constantly having to do pest control. The world needed order, no matter who enforced it...
Art by Aoi Ogata
Ester is of an above average height for a woman, much in part due to her slender legs. She has a head of straight black hair which runs down to her shoulders, her bangs cut in a blunt fashion. Her eyes are a piercing dark red and fairly narrow. She has a subtle nose and thin lips. She has an above average bust size and a rather toned body. She tends to wear red gothic styled clothing, with perhaps more belts than needed.
Traits and Equipment
As a full-blood vampire Ester has pale skin that is always cool to the touch. She has fangs, but they are only visible when she drinks blood or intends to use them otherwise. She is about twenty times stronger than the average human man, and durable enough that a bullet will only break the surface of her skin at best. Along with her strength she is incredible agile, able to run up to a top speed of eighty miles per hour. After moving at these speeds for extended periods of time she will become exhausted and need to drink human blood to quickly get back into action.
Ester is able to grow a pair of slightly translucent bat-like wings from her back, which she can use to fly just as fast as she is able to move on land. Ester is capable of seeing clearly in complete darkness, and is able to smell blood up to a mile away.
She has no need to breath, drink water, or eat food. As long as she drinks at least a gallon of blood a month she'll remain healthy. She is able to regenerate from wounds, however without drinking human blood the process is much slower. A severed arm would take a full day without human blood, and only a few minutes with it. She is incapable of feeling pain and cannot be poisoned or made ill through non magical means.
Ester can cause her blood to rise in temperature at will, up to the point that it boils, as well as lower it to the point it freezes. Apparently this is an ability all vampires have, but not many see any use for it.
Ester knows countless spells, however her connection to magic other than blood manipulation has been severed ever since she obtained her artifact.
Blood Manipulation
Ester is able to freely manipulate her blood both inside and outside of her body. This allows her to morph her blood into various shapes and weapons as well as launch it at will, though using it for long ranged attacks severely limits it's power. When hardened, her blood is as hard as titanium.
Erudite
Her long years of study have given her an encyclopedic knowledge of the world.
Martial Arts
She has studied a few martial arts during her travels to different cultures. In particular she is adept at Aikido, judo, krav maga, marksmanship and various weapons.
Burdens of a vampire
As a vampire the sun is Ester's worst enemy. She can walk during the day with the use of magic and an enchanted cloak, but fighting under such circumstances is less than ideal. If left exposed to the sun without protection she would burst into flames. While nearly immortal, Ester can be killed if her brain or heart is completely destroyed.
Crosses piss her off, pure silver burns her skin and slows her regeneration, garlic gives her food poisoning, she has a hard time entering someone's home without being invited, and she is unable to cross large bodies of running water under her own power. She's always thought these aliments were rather arbitrary, and has spent years finding the cause and a cure, to no avail.
Hemoguns
A pair of steam powered guns. Using tubes running from the guns and into her veins she is able to power the weapon using her own blood. The guns fire her crystallized blood, which is hard enough and fired with enough force to puncture several inches of steel.
The Necronomicon
N/A
The Necronomican is a book that contains knowledge of the ineffable, of old gods and the true workings of the universe. The book rends the minds of those that attempt to read it, only those with immense willpower would even be able to open it without issue. The book appears at first to be a blank, unremarkable book the thickness of a dictionary. However, this appearance is an illusion, as it's true form is unknown, if it is even truly a book is up to debate. As it is an object that simply forces knowledge into the mind of it's reader, it is thought that it takes the form of an object commonly known in the public's conscious for bestowing information.
Evelyn holds love only for The Obscure One, should it be that you are an incarnation of her lord then perhaps affection will be shown to you.
Religion
The Obscure One is the name Evelyn has given to the voice only she can hear. An entity who she claims is the true dark lord and Lancelot a fragment of his being incarnate. The Cult of The Obscure One worships their hidden god and Evelyn as well for they believe her to be his mortal bride and prophet. The cult has a strict ideology but its main tenants are; Our lord's plan is unknown to us but we follow for it will lead us to paradise at his side, The Veiled Mother must be kept hidden and safe for her word is that of our lord, speak not of our family for there are those who would see it harmed, be as our lord for it is through anonymity that we thrive.
Job
Personality
Evelyn does not see the atrocities she's committed as entertaining, it is merely a task to complete. Death, war, torture, ritual sacrifice, it is not enjoyable nor is it detestable but rather a duty she must perform for The Obscure One and Lancelot. With her face almost always hidden, either in a helmet or under a veil, it can be difficult to gauge her mood as she tends to speak rather calmly when not in battle. One should not take her stoic tone for amicability as her opinion of you changes with the will of The Obscure One. Should her dark lord consider you a potential or immediate threat you will be met with hostility if not direct attack. That being said, she is not unapproachable, she is more than welcoming to anyone who wishes to speak with her or keep her company. As for her day to day routine, Evelyn can often be found studying a magic tome or performing some form of ritual. In the realm of more physical activities she prefers to practice her weapon arts at night and with her lord, however to an onlooker it appears as though she is combating the air.
Biography
Across the sea lies the archipelago of Tyrvald. A land of temperate forests and fierce wildlife, the inhabitants are divided into numerous city states. Among the most powerful is the city of Dustorne, a proud and noble people with ambitions to unite the islands under one banner to conquer new lands beyond their shores. Evelyn was the daughter of King Greagor and the heir to the throne of Dustorne. From birth she was raised to take the throne; studying battle strategy, training in multiple weapon arts, experience in political intrigue, and an understanding of her people. At the age of eighteen she left the islands to scout new lands her people could plunder in the future. For four years she wandered the lands of Camelot before returning home, only to find her throne had been stolen from her by her father's advisor and her family slaughtered. Chased out of Dustorne she fled to the neighboring city of Strosheim hoping to find aid as they had been a close ally of her family for years. Instead she was met with drawn blades and iron manacles where she was kept as a slave.
Forced to pleasure the lord's son, Evelyn's spirit would be broken until one day a familiar voice called to her. As a child she would often speak with a voice only she could hear. Her parents assumed it to be the imagination of a child but in truth it was far more than that. The Obscure One had been watching over her since her birth and had for reasons unknown only now showed himself again to her. With his help the deposed queen fled into the wilds of Tyrvald where she spent five years strengthening her bond with The Obscure One, all the while forging a cult which worshipped her as the bride to their hidden god. With the force of a small army behind her, Evelyn marched on Dustorne to take back her throne. Unfortunately her notoriety betrayed her as her enemies knew of her impending attack and bolstered their numbers. A confrontation could not be avoided and so The Cult of The Obscure One clashed swords with the defenders of Dustorne. It was a battle that could not be won but Evelyn commanded her forces with skill and held the line until a path of retreat was made. With what forces remained she retreated to her ships and fled to the outlands where she would bend the knee to Lancelot in the hopes he would conquer Tyrvald, allowing her to rule the islands as a reward.
When not clad in her armor, Evelyn is clothed in the ceremonial robes of her cult. As The Veiled Mother, she is to be hidden at all times and so her veil is enchanted to cast shadows over most of her face.
Traits and Equipment
The Obscure One is not death but his realm of influence stems from it. As a result, Evelyn can see the aura of those who have died recently anywhere she goes. What's more, should she come into contact with an item or be in a location of strong importance to the deceased individual, she receives visions of that person's live from their point of view.
Shadow Step
Becoming darkness itself, Evelyn is able to quickly traverse surfaces as a shadow. In this form she cannot be harmed, but she can be detected as her movement appears as a formless shadow moving across surfaces thus requiring some caution when infiltrating enemy facilities.
Corporeal Decoy
This spell can be performed in two ways, ritual sacrifice or illusion. Ritual sacrifice requires a living body to be given up to The Obscure One who then bestows telepathic control of the sacrifice to Evelyn. From that point on the individual will look, sound, and act like Evelyn until it is killed. The illusion method requires less preparation as it simply creates empty copies of Evelyn that can interact with the world independently until death where they dissipate much like the settling of fog. This method is commonly used in battle as it can be performed in mere seconds.
Blinding Night
Manipulating shadows to remain on the eyes of her target, Evelyn rids them of light thus making them blind till the spell dissipates. A side effect of this spell is that the victim's eyes quickly become hyper sensitive to light. When the spell dissipates, a bright beam of light into the eyes can run the risk of permanently blinding them.
Hidden Messages
Evelyn is capable of telepathically speaking to her allies and anyone whose mind is not strong enough to resist. In order to use this spell for implanting thoughts the victim must be near death, as well as being both mortal and having a soul. The spell will temporarily 'restore' them. They will lose all recent memories and are given a specific task of her choosing. The spell ends once the task is completed or after 24 hours have passed, in which case the victim immediately dies. The spell is removed at any time if they are the target of a revive spell or a healing spell that can cure fatal injuries or whatever else was the cause of death. This saves the victim from extermination and will regain all memories. She can only use this spell on up to two people at a time.
Tyrvaldi Weapon Arts
Raised from birth to be a warrior queen, Evelyn is a master of Tyrvaldi weapon arts. This means she is highly skilled in one handed, two handed sword combat as well as spear and shield wielding on stable ground as well as on a dynamic battlefield such as a ship deck. Losing her footing is almost impossible for her and her ability to maneuver herself on the battlefield is impeccable, meaning she is more than capable of holding her own in a heavily outnumbered fight.
Her Past
It is very hard to get under Evelyn's skin but her past remains the one insult she will not tolerate. Specifically her period of servitude to the lord of Strosheim. Even so, very few outside of Tyrvald know of her past that well.
His Ward
A suit of armor which was to be worn by the Queen of Dustorne, Evelyn's armor is enchanted to partially redirect the kinetic energy in a hit back to the attacker.
His Will
This Tyrvaldi forged bastard sword was enchanted by The Obscure One himself to aid Evelyn. The soul of whoever dies by this blade is used as a sacrifice to The Obscure One and thus partially replenishes Evelyn's mana reserves and slowly heals her of whatever injury she sustains during battle.
The Cult of The Obscure One
With only five hundred cultists surviving the battle at Dustorne, Evelyn's cult is near extinction but their zealotry is stronger than ever. These common looking cultists will kill, plunder, and downright destroy anyone their Veiled Mother deems an enemy. They excel at infiltrating enemy encampments and cities, they also function as a lightly armored and fast moving army. The cultists come from all backgrounds which makes them useful for carrying out non combat roles such as scouting, farming, archiving, etc. Their only weaknesses are their small numbers, use of light armor or robes, and limited weapon skill.
Ring of Shrouded Union
This ring symbolizes the bond between Evelyn and The Obscure One as well as holds a portion of her life essence within the gem. Should Evelyn be killed in any manner whatsoever, the first person to wear this ring will die and Evelyn's soul will possess the body. What's more, If Evelyn is alive and anyone else wears this ring, they shall be able to hear and see The Obscure One.

Religion
Bartuc speaks of the Obscure one. A secretive god that has only made its will known to its prophetic speaker Evelyn Sunderland, the Veiled mother. In truth his heart and soul do not belong to any creature or god, placing true and absolute faith only in his fury and his true Master.
Job
(to be assigned)
Personality
Bartuc is openly faithless, often rude, and arrogant. Believing that only the strong deserve any words of remote kindness. His pride as a sworn knight of Dustorne and his continued service to their lineage is one of the few shining lights within an otherwise despicable human being that takes pleasure in the torture and death of anything opposing him. Through violence he serves the master, only the master, at a level that puts even the cultists fanaticism to shame. Extremely loyal to Evelyn Sunderland and quick to punish or kill any that even hint at disrespect, whether they are justified or not.
Biography
Bartuc, from the nameless house, was born to be a soldier. A warrior. A killer of legendary proportions. Talented with a blade and shield who stood tall when young and taller when grown, he was quickly established as a skilled swordfighter and was given advanced tutelage in his formative years. His father had served as a loyalist soldier to the kings of Dustorne, down the line, for nearly five generations. Bartuc was the sixth generation to serve and had proven himself over and over on the field as a peerless warrior. The betrayal of his king had been a blade in the dark. A threat he had been trained to ignore. The adviser to the king had been a valued friend to all the loyal guardsman, earned their trust, and served with honor himself.
With the king dead and those that opposed being killed, Bartuc abandoned his kingdom to search for the true heir. To right a wrong he could not fix on his own. Without her there was nothing left of a legacy that spanned many years of faithful service.
Word of a revolt reached his ears while he was in hiding. A cult, an army of some sort, preparing for war on Dustorne. Whispers of the kings daughter leading the charge had Bartuc on the move with a fury. Vengeance was close. The battle was one-sided from the start, the plans of attacking Dustorne having reached his ears of course it would have reached the enemies but that did not stop his conviction. His fury added to the army led by the desposed Queen, Bartuc fought like a demon. For the memory of his king. To avenge the betrayal of his family. To appease his own hunger. Along with the remaining cultists under her sway, Bartuc followed the skilled commands of the rightful Queen to the letter. Even in defeat.
To Camelot they fled. In Camelot he bent the knee beside his rightful Queen, telling her of his service to Greagor Sunderland before the betrayal. Swearing his continued fealty to her cause until the last drop of life escaped his body. From then on he was by her side always. Serving her will without hesitation. It wasn't long until he stood as her second.
Bartuc is the the very stones carved and molded into a mans likeness. Gifted with stature and relentless training has made of him a monster in human trappings. A thousand strikes in a thousand different ways have been ingrained into every fiber of his body to make of it a weapon capable of accomplishing any task, killing any opponent, and bringing the glory of his masters words to reality. Many scars decorate his pale skin but few stand out more than the ones across his arms. A sickly red like fire stretch across both wrists, self inflicted wounds made for every life he snuffs. They are his pride as a warrior. Bartuc keeps his his hair, black with spots of silver from age, trimmed relatively low and oiled back. The same strict grooming goes for his beard, kept short and well kept, but hides it all behind the imposing visor of his helmet. Only when commanded or wounded will it be removed, and never out of arms reach.
Traits and Equipment
The obscure one has granted the right hand of its prophet with a fury unlike any other. Bartucs relentless fury in combat is amplified by the will of a dark god he does not even believe in. The result is a warrior who, when blood is spilled, knows no end to his stamina capable of fighting through wounds that would render others incapable of continuing.
Way of the Red River
Bartuc is a butcher on the battlefield. What makes him so lethal is a keen understanding of an enemies anatomy and the making of arms and armor. Easily finding openings to strike at exposed flesh or crippling points of the body to which even a minor cut will bleed profusely, as if it is being drawn out by the endless bloodlust emanating from Bartuc.
Faithless
Bartuc regrets that he does not see or hear the words of his masters god. It gnaws at him that they alone hear the voice of something that cannot be seen and follow its commands almost blindly. Despite his position as Evelyns right-hand servant he fears that she can see his faithless following of orders as a sign that he will betray her.
Bloodlust
A warrior of great skill but little self control. His blood burns with the thoughts of spilling the life essence of his enemies. Without Evelyn to control him or order him to stop, it is a rarity for Bartuc not to draw steel and cut down anyone in his way. This makes him very easily agitated when confronted.
Furore
The black sword, bane of mortals, the sole weapon that Bartuc wields. The blade itself has been coated with blood so often that it has begun to take on a red tinge.
Homeland
A golden round shield that has served Bartuc since before the fall of his King, bestowed to him after many years of loyal service. It is kept as a reminder. To the true heir of Dustorne and her ever loyal servant.
Ring of favor
A weakly enchanted ring found on the corpse of one of the many victims down the line. The ring is a pristine silver with gold inscriptions flowing around the outside and inside of the ring, bestowing the wearer with minor regeneration. Not enough to make a fatal blow any less fatal but it can mend a minor wound within an hour, a larger wound if cared for properly first will heal within a week depending on severity.
Relationships
Right-hand loyalist to Evelyn Sunderland, rightful Queen of Dustorne, prophet and leader to the Cult of the Obscure One.
Yeah sorry I've been really caught up with work up here, alongside a terrible connection since we're in the middle of the woods farming. Once I'm done today I'll try to give your sheets a proper review, as I've already read brought most of it and have some things I need to address.
So this sheet is actually solid, I don't have any problems by itself but since it seems to be paired with the other sheet here I will be considering it a paired submission, and I won't accept your sheet until the other one is in order.@TheDarkTemplar
I like the cultist prophet theme, my biggest issue with it however it is an it too direct. It shouldn't be said that the obscure one should be, well, obscure. I think I'd like to see some emphasis that the voice rarely speaks to her, the most he should have ever spoken to her was prior to her rise to power and the formation of the cult.
With that in mind, that brings me to her powers. I like her theme of espionage but I have issues here. To start with the emergency dragon is a bit too much and doesn't have sufficient limitations. Danger can be very loosely interpreted and regardless, having a titanic dragon form protect her at all is a bit too overpowered. I offer too alternatives, either limit the summon to a brief 5 second lasting manifestation that can deliver a powerful blow based on its size (which is shrink to fifty foot at most.) or if you'd like to specify any other powers with t. He can summon himself to her aid 3 times a day but his body will be semi translucent and she has no control over him. The other alternative is perhaps replacing the obscure one with being able to summon@Zelosse's character at any time, allowing her to bring muscle when she needs it.
Her ability to summon a matter erasing hate, I'm removing completely. Her ability to implant thoughts will be needed as well. She can still communicate telepathically, but in order to use that spell for implanting thoughts the target must be at near death, as well as being both mortal and having a soul. The spell will temporarily 'restore' them. They will lose all recent memories and are given a specific task of her choosing. The spell ends once the task is completely or after 24 hours, in which case the victim immediately dies. This saves the victim from extermination and will regain all memories. She can only use this spell on up to two people at a time.
If these nerfs are too harsh, you are free to give her more abilities as well, preferably related to stealth or shadows as that seems to be her motif. Even though you have one minor weakness I won't impose anymore with the current nerfs since she's human, but if you give her more abilities I may suggest that she is cursed by the dark one, and may assign more weaknesses with that curse to help balance it.
Once all that is resolved I'll be happy to give your sheet a second review.

His plans are unknown to Evelyn as he doesn't give her anything like a step by step run down of his plan. As far as she knows he wants to get her the throne but his long terms plans are a mystery to all but him. I pictured him as being an enigmatic partner for her that converses and gives advice. The closest comparison I can make is Dexter's dad who gives guidance throughout the show but at the end of the day its up to Dexter to make the decisions.
With that in mind, that brings me to her powers. I like her theme of espionage but I have issues here. To start with the emergency dragon is a bit too much and doesn't have sufficient limitations. I think I'll just do away with the dragon entirely. It was originally intended to evac her from situations where she was about to die but with the ring the possibility of death is less threatening.

I have no problem with these, my original understanding was that the characters were meant to be OP but if its not the case that's fine.
Everything checks out. This is more of an obvious side note but the ring only works if the wearer is alive. It will have no effect if he wearer is undead or in some other technical non-living existence like a deathless one or a golem.
IC is up! Each character should now have their arrival and await seated at the table for the specified meeting. By friday I expect everyone to post so I can move the plot forward. In the meantime you may interact with other characters, but I recommend to collab with that as to not flood the IC chat.
I will still be accepting characters, and any characters that have been accepted but haven't posted yet are still welcomed.
