"Built tough."Miriam is a tall and somewhat slender girl with long brown hair that falls just below her shoulder blades.
She has high cheekbones and an oval face that ends in a sharp and pointed chin, framed by headwear, as she often wears ball-caps. She has a straight nose, full lips that are faintly pink and a strong jawline, making her more handsome than pretty. Her eyes are deep brown, staring piercingly out from under light-lidded eyelids, giving her a fairly alert look, even if she's close to dozing off. Her usual outfits consists of boots, long pants with many pockets, and T-shirts that are soft and have a pleasuring texture to them. Bonus points if they have animals on them. As a hiker and climber, she has excellent endurance and muscle control, as well as a very athletically toned body.

As a member of a small, tight-knit community, her status as a tomboy is an open secret in that everyone knows, but no one mentions is aloud- she's always been an odd girl. She's always preferred boots to heels, or a butterfly net to a toy cooking set. She likes camping, and fishing, and hiking, activities that most young women were not interested in. She has an incredibly humorous side, often displayed in the form of dry or sarcastic comments, especially when hanging around the few people she fully trusts – those with abilities or otherwise. Miri is loud and active and is incredibly caring about what she is passionate about. She doesn’t believe in sugar-coating the truth no matter how harsh it may be, she will break the news gently if that person is close to her, or is in visible distress, close to breaking down.
Miriam is extremely practical, and strives to be a woman of sound moral principles, and would stand by them no matter what it cost her. She can be stubborn and hard-headed when she believes she is right, and refuses to be convinced otherwise unless the opponent manages to bring sound logic into the argument. Because she has a sharp tongue and has no problems in standing up to others when she is in a temper, Miriam is the type of person who is hesitant to give others a second chance and lives on a one strike policy. Because of this, she refrains from judging people by first impression alone, and usually reserves her opinion until she knows them better. Her temper is a slow simmering fire, not easily coerced to rearing up and retaliate, but the right trigger works like kerosene, making it explosive and abrupt, but it dwindles down quickly.
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Miriam's main goal is to complete the PCT. She has already completed the Appalachian Trail, and from there, travel through Asia.

BACKSTORY
"Where I'm from, rattlesnakes are a food group."Miriam's life is honestly pretty standard, aside from working with zoos and doing a lot of conservation volunteer work throughout her life. Her parents are horse breeders from Texas, and her brother is in middle school. Things don't really get interesting until she turns eighteen...
When Miriam graduated high school, she knew exactly what she wanted to do. It wasn't attend trade school, or college, she wanted to go out and experience the world. She spent several months saving money and training and set out to conquer the Appalachian trail. Upon completion of this, she moved westward. She ran out of gas on her drive and ended up walking into Farmer Hill late in the evening, where she spent the night living in the Sucre's broom closet. Following that very cramped evening, and retrieving her Bronco, Miriam decided to save up money before continuing on to the PCT.
One of the workers, Kimberly, decided to set her up with her parents, who were initially somewhat hesitant to have a wild girl like Miriam in the house, but Miriam's kindness and willingness to help very quickly won them over. Now she works at the Sucre and pays rent to Kimberly's family.

"Apocalypse ready!"Outdoorswoman ⫻ Miriam has spent months of her life alone, hiking the Appalachian trail, camping out in the woods, rock climbing, and generally surviving on her own. She knows how to forage, hunt, and fish. You name it, she's probably done it at least once.
Shotgunner ⫻ She lived on a horse farm in Texas! She's worked with shotguns since her age hit double digits. It's just part of life. She carries a Remington 870 in her car, and holy shit she knows how to use it well.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Hive Mind, the ability to control all insects around herself.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Hive Mind: Miriam has the to summon psychic insects, which possess real insects within a 20ft radius of herself, and is always active. In the absence of their real counterparts, the psychic insects become physical manifestations and act as their real counterparts at the cost of controllability. They are light blue, and are the same size as their regular counterpart species. Grasshoppers, beetles, spiders, ants, etc all show up and it is completely random as to what bug is generated.
The level of control she has on her personal swarm is rudimentary at best. Insects are not very intelligent, and commanding them to 'Move here' or 'hide' or 'go away' or 'attack' can be very difficult. Complex tasks are extremely difficult without dedicating a lot of time to them, if not impossible. She can control all insects within the radius of 20ft, but she can have her insects move outside that radius very easily. The possessed insects outside that radius are impossible to control outside of the command 'come'. She has the ability to just know what her swarm sees or hears.
Miriam can move from place to place, and can 'collect' insects per say, controlling a swarm of an absolute maximum of 10,000 insects. In this state however, she can only instruct singular commands such as 'disburse' or 'attack'. Building off of this, the amount of 'insect souls' Miriam can create away from the mountain is finite and upon the death of an insect, Miriam cannot immediately posses a new one. If Miriam were to attack a person with 10,000 insects and they kill 7,000, it could be over a day before she has enough souls to replace that number of bugs.
IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ In the presence of the mountain, Miriam gains the ability to summon all insects within a square mile of herself.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Miriam has the ability to sense all supernatural beings within a fifteen meter radius of herself. Her insects in that space can second hand sense them for her, but bugs that fly or move outside her direct control radius cannot, even when on the mountain.
LIMITS ⫻ he insects are very vulnerable to area of effect attacks, as they are normally as durable as a regular insect would. Extreme heat or cold would destroy them with ease. And mass destruction of her insects are hard to replace, given that she can't create them that quickly, and can't immediately repossess them. In addition, the insects are psychically connected to Miriam, and destroying a large amount of them would cause her a mental pain. Her nose would bleed, and she'd get an extreme headache. At worst, she could be knocked unconscious by the severe mental shock. Trying to control large amounts of insects at a time would be foolish as it would cause her mind to get overloaded, and cause her pain. As her mind isn't powerful enough to withstand all of it.
