Lavender had said goodbye to her parents, after they had helped her get her owl and trunk on board.
She walked further down into the compartment, and settled down in a seat. She put the owl cage down on the seat next to her and peaked under the cover. Aurora was so cute, sleeping on her perch with her beak tucked under her wing. Smiling, she closed the cover again and sat back.
Outside, her parents were waving like crazy, and Lavender smiled and waved back as enthousiastically as she could manage. The gravity of the situation started to sink in. She was about to spend an entire school year at Hogwarts. Cooped up with people she didn't even know.
Her first introduction hadn't exactly been a happy one, and she was more than a little nervous about the days ahead.
She sighed, and tried to shrug off the weird feeling. She was usually a bubbly girl, and this wasn't like her. She waved at her parents again and settled in, hoping someone would join her soon.
